I went in this morning to get my tired fixed, and encountered the nicest gentleman by the name of Joe. I was prepared to pay a ton of money to replace my tire; however, after he took a look at it he fixed the problem in literally 1 minute! The best part…wait for it…he didn’t charge me a dime, and refused payment from me! Joe not only saved me lot’s of money…he also restored my faith in great customer service! Before you take your car to any big corporate owned shop…go see Joe at S&H Auto repair.

Originally gave them a 1 star review then gave them the opportunity to fix what was going on. Changed it to 5 stars because Joe or whatever his name is was very apologetic and agreed that he would fix my car and discount me if I changed the rating. Cool. I paid 240 for them to “fix” the issue & a day later my car was still making a grinding sound when I brake and accelerate and the same squeaking sound that he said he barely heard. At this point, I won’t be going back. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I was discounted. It’s the thought that counts.

RED FLAG!!!!! Any business that charges you $50 for a visual inspection is nothing more than money hungry and a rip off. I went in looking for an honest local shop.... look elsewhere. I told them Id never been charged for an estimate and Id prefer to pay a reputable shop. Completed the $480 estimate myself for about $35 in parts. Save your money. A TRUE RIPOFF COMPANY

After a long battle with several different mechanics to fix my Jeep Wrangler and continually failing my emissions inspection for my tags. I had gone to S&H to see if they could help repair my jeep and solve my emissions inspections dilemma. I was educated on a inspection waiver as well as a grant to acquire my tags. I had no idea about the waiver or grant for a emissions repair to help cover the cost of my jeep repairs. If it was not for the honest and professional work from S&H. I would still be spinning my wheels on trying to get my jeep repaired and driving around with expired tags. The best part was they provided reasonable pricing for services.

Failed to fix problem with my car, and was told to go to Pick N Pull for the parts they were supposed to fix. Do not recommend. Paid nearly $120 for the same issues after I drove away. Had short in parking lights, instead of fixing the issues they put a larger fuse in. Glad car didn’t catch on fire on the way home.

They were friendly and quick. When I put my car in to be fixed it provides a list of things I knew were needed. They got to work fast! Called me to let me know of any problems they found and explained in amazing detail. Even found the best prices. With the auto parts right next door all the parts needed did not have a delay.

I took my car to a couple of shops, all of whom misdiagnosed the issue. These guys discovered the problem from the outset and repaired it at a very fair price. Highly recommend!

The gentlemen at this shop were very competent and helpful. They were also quick!! I desperately need my my rear wheel bearing fixed and they got it back to me within hours. The knowledgeable men helped me out with my wheel bearing and were honest and upfront about the services I needed (which is hard to come by), I will for sure visit again for further services on my Ford. 10/10 recommend.

I dont have to worry about that with H & L. They always give me good work at a fair price and its performed in excellent time. Yesterday, my check air in tires light came on in my car. So i stopped at H&L for the first time on the way home from work and the older gentlemen took care of me immediately. I had taken my car to another shop that sent me home 3 times saying they “fixed” the part. Brought my car to these guys and not only did the look at it, they were able to tell me exactly what it was, show me and get it fixed in 1 days time. The other auto shop was racking up the prices and adding things to to bill and never fixed anything. My car has been out of the shop for 2 weeks now, running normal again. Luckily I found these amazing men, because I know if something does happen they will be there to help!

This place is walking distance from my home , I walked in with high expectations that I was going to be provided the best customer service but in return all I received was nonchalant stern behavior from some short older man , he snatched everything I handed him , I gave him the respect he deserved. although my car was repaired the customer service was garbage ..... If I pay you to do a service please provide me and every other customer with amazing customer service, for doing so it will keep new customers coming.... I am very displeased with that type of behavior, which ultimately brings me to the conclusion of never shopping here again ..... Reevaluate yourself as a business owner and also revaluate your employees becaus.

I was heading out of town for a cross country road trip and wanted to be sure my Honda SUV would survive the trip. The shop got me in the next day, did a thorough check of the car, confirmed my concerns about my rear brake pads, replaced the pads, finished early, and charged me half of what I would have paid at the dealer. If I lived here full-time, this would be my mechanic all the time!

We have had four cars serviced here over the last 2.5 years. They are the best kind of auto shop in that they are straightforward and accommodating. They go above and beyond to be helpful and always complete services in a timely manner. On top of that the prices are extremely fair with no extra or hidden fees. I only wish they could complete all our services but there are a few things they don’t do they are mostly for maintenance. We will continue to be loyal customers as long as we live in Fayetteville!

Dropped my car off there to get it checked out for my a/c not working. After checking it out, testing it, etc they determined that it would have to go to the BMW dealer to fix what seems to be an electrical issue. They weren’t able to fix it, but they didn’t charge me a dime for the inspection/assessment. Most other places are at least going to charge you an hour labor to even look at your vehicle.

All around nice, friendly, and down to Earth staff here.Before I went in my AC was working off and on. I went in and got my AC Serviced went less than a mile down the road and my AC went out. It hasnt come back on since. Not sure if this is fault of this shop or my AC finally decided to die, either way Im very hot and upset in this NC heat.The gentlemen then offered to replace the AC Compressor entirely, for a steep price considering parts and labor. The AC Compressor cost about $200 and I assume their labor fees would be the remaining $1,000. If you happen to need your AC Compressor replaced there are other places offering this service for considerably less.Update: Went to another mechanic service and they told me that the AC compressor is fine and that I just needed the system evacuated, dye tested, and recharged. Which cost about $300.

There is a reason I keep bringing my vehicles to H and L even though they arent the closest shop. I always feel like I am working with honest mechanics that have my best interest in mind. As a matter of fact, my truck is with them as I write this. Ive been bringing my truck here for years now, and I can honestly say Ive never had a bad experience. H and L has saved me money in the past with honest advice and recommendations, even when Ive asked for more expensive work to be done. Theyve always called me to have unexpected repairs approved and have always told me up front what I can expect it to cost when asked. Ive never gotten a surprise bill with H and L. They care about quality work far more than the bottom line, and thats why I will continue to use them. On top of all of that, they are just extremely polite, flexible, and personable people to work with.

I do not recommend this place at all! My son brought his car there for a problem with his gas tank. He left with the same exact problem a new battery and a $300 bill. My son was told that the battery was so weak that it was sending false signals to the gas tank. When we took the car back up there to let them know the problem was still there they said my son never told them about the problem with his gas tank. The only thing the mechanic wrote on the ticket was that the check engine light was on and it runs bad. My son was asked if the check engine light was on and he told them yes but his main complaint was the problem with his gas tank. They refunded his money for the battery but he still had to pay $78.00 for a diagnostic test and $115.00 for labor. They eventually gave him another $37.00 back because we didn’t think it was fair he was charged labor for a service that was not requested! We will never go back to this place! I feel like they took complete advantage of my son! The manager said it was his mechanics word against my sons word and his mechanic is an honest man. It’s not my sons fault that the mechanic didn’t write everything down on the ticket. So pretty much he called my son a liar!

Ive been trading here over 20 years. Over that time I have had 4 vehicles as an adult and 2 as a teenager. All were serviced by H&L and all ran fine when I sold them. I really like the managers Tommy and Joe, both are good Christian men. Unless I tell them to just fix it they always call me with an estimate prior to repairs. The prices have always been reasonable and honest. I have never heard a single cross word said to a customer the entire time I have been taking my vehicles here. I think this is probably the longest standing garage in Fayetteville, you dont keep your doors open that long if your not honest and treat customers fairly. I think they do mostly everything but transmission rebuilds and body work. Definitely recommend.

Needed a new piece for my wheel. Pep boys quoted me $526. These guys quoted me $279. Also ended up needing brakes done too so payed the same price for two things instead of one and they got my car to me in the same day!!! Defiantly would go back if I need any more repairs. Nice people and great prices. They aren’t trying to screw you over in your wallet.

I called this shop to get pricing estimate for suspension work on my vehicle. The description for this shop clearly states that they do FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION!! After I explained my suspension issue with my car, a service mechanic got on the phone and stated that they do not do suspension work, and that I needed to find another shop!! In my opinion, this is a very sketchy way to run a PROFESSIONAL business. Over the phone, it is obvious that I am a black Male, whether or not that had anything to do with this horrible customer service. I will never know, and I would not recommend this shop to ANYONE!!

Took my vehicle in during the first week of September 2014. My daughter had stated she had an issue with the brakes while driving it, I had not personally noticed an issue but figured Id have them checked out. Left my vehicle with them and waited for them to check it and call me. Received a call stating that the back breaks were good, still had 60% life in them but the front breaks needed the break pads changed and the rotors changed due to them being unable to be turned. They quoted a $360.00 price to do the work. Husband decided he would change those things himself for that price so we paid them the $35.00 fee for checking the brakes (no problem with this), and took our vehicle home. Husband went out and purchased new brakes and rotors, went to go replace them and found that the rotors on the vehicle were in good shape, almost in the same condition as the new ones. So he just changed the brake pads and returned the rotors that were $60.00 per side. So the vehicle is now fixed and only the brake pads needed changing, although according to my husband those werent really that bad either but he changed them anyway since he already had taken the time to removed the tire and everything. I took my vehicle to H&L because of the reviews I had read, but really disappointed that they seemed to misrepresent what needed to be done. To others I would say, make them call you in and show you exactly why the repair needs to be done before agreeing to pay for repairs.

The most honest auto shop I have found so far in Fayetteville. I have had many parts replaced and repaired with no issues over the past 16 months. Their advice has helped me keep all the cars running and I almost always feel like Im getting the better end of the deal.

As an ex-employee who quit on bad terms for personal reasons, i will still give this shop a 5 star review. That alone should say how good these people are, i can not truthfully sit here and give good people who are truthful and fair a bad review because of personal reasons. They have earned the peoples respect over 60 years for a reason. I would still highly recommend this shop to anyone in the fayetteville area and beyond. The management and the mechanics who work here and will work here in the future are top notch and highly experienced in their field, if they are not they wont work here. The amount of fairness and the personal touch of customer service that you will recieve is unmatched anywhere in this area hands down. Because anyone can have a bad experience anywhere i can personal attest to you that if a problem does arise, if brought to Tommy or Joes attention they will immediately and quickly fix the issue at hand with respect and regret. I worked there 21 1/2 years and know for a fact you wont find any shop better than this one. You WILL have found the place to go to fix all your needs on your factory car that can handle insurance claims as well. This is my Honest and Fair review of this business.

Joseph was amazing. He let me come in before the shop even opened. I explained to him that ai knew absolutely nothing about cars and a few different men had told me several reasons why my vehicle was making a certain noise. After taking a ride around the parking lot with me the first thing he did was tighten my lug nuts. He didnt pressure me to do anything I didnt want to pay for and he solved my problem for a few pennies. Thanks so much. Yall are great. I definitely will be back!

This is the best auto service I have ever been too. This is the place to go for great and honest service. The problem I was going to get checked out was a bad job a previous mechanic had fixed. The mechanic at H & L showed me he didnt fix the problem at all just put a band-aid on it. At H&L they actually took the time to show me the condition of the parts that they replaced and did an overall check on my vehicle to see if anything else needed attention. Honest company that gets the work done the right way. They tell you up front on price and timeline before they even start the work on your car so you know what to expect. This is why they have been in service for so long. I highly recommend anyone who needs car service to come here.

Oil changed cost me about $60. They told me I needed new brakes in the front. Husband went to go change them and they are still brand freaking new! I was charged over 68 dollars without authorization in order to reset the drive cycle which apparently took 87 miles of driving which drained almost half my tank and didnt reset anything. I went to legal (Im in the Army) but anything charged at an auto shop under 350$ is not protected by law so I could not get this money back even though there was no signatures on the documents for the State Inspection which is all I agreed to have done, please do dont trust these dishonest people.
