I cant say enough good things about my experience at this shop. The first place I took my car for an a/c diagnostic wasnt able to do it due to my car taking the newer, more expensive 1234 freon. The price I was quoted at the first shop while assuming I needed less expensive freon was astronomically higher than what I just paid at Cape Fear Automotive even with the newer freon. They stay up to date and were able to diagnose my a/c and fill it with freon which was something I had been told by a couple of places that only the dealership would be able to do. Billy was personable and professional as were the 2 other gentlemen I spoke with. I had an appointment and was in and out in a very reasonable amount of time.I have been looking for a good, honest place to work on my car ever since losing my dad 8 yrs ago who was a mechanic and handled all my repairs. Im so relieved Ive found this place. I feel 100% comfortable bringing my car to them for anything going forward.

If I could leave the stars blank I would. I had an alignment done to my vehicle twice by this company, they tried to tell me it was the tire that was causing my car to keep pulling to the right which was completely false. I literally went to Jiffy lube and watched them move the tire rod on one and the other had no play. I told them it was as a tire rod that had play they took it in for 1 minute and drove it out the next minute. .The manager at Cape Fear told me that they couldn’t move it, it was the tires that were causing the issue. I asked if the tires are changed and it still pulls then what, the manager simply said “I don’t know you tell us”. I will never go back, nor would I recommend this company to anyone.

Every review about them being honest and truthful and not trying to take money, oh and them working hard and doing quality work...could not be more accurate. I took my car in with an issue that I thought would be wheel bearings (I didn’t want to get them pressed and was being lazy). They called after a short diagnostic and told me it was a smaller issue and cost me less to fix it than if I would have done the wheel bearings myself (and not fixed the issue). They could have easily fixed the small problem and said they did wheel bearings and charged me 3x as much for work that wasn’t done. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with their work!

Im new to the area and needed to get brake pads put on my Toyota RAV4. A coworker who has his vehicles serviced at Cape Fear Automotive highly recommended I take my vehicle to them. I called for a quote on front and rear brake pads and was given a very reasonable price compared to other mechanic shops in the area. Kyle (the Service Advisor) got me right in and I was fully expecting to spend upwards of $260. After a short wait in their convenient waiting area, Kyle informed me that my rear pads were fine, it was the front ones that needed to be replaced and rotors turned. Instead of $260 for both front and back pads Id be looking at $129.99 for just the front. I was elated! All this time I hesitated to take my car to a mechanic because I was afraid I would be taken advantage of. This has got to be one of the most HONEST mechanic businesses in Fayetteville. If youre taking your car anywhere else, youre paying too much! I will definitely be back for tires and have already recommended Cape Fear Automotive to several co-workers. Being from out of town and needing auto repair, I wasn’t sure who to use. So I contacted a State Farm select service body shop to find out who does their mechanic work and they highly recommended Cape Fear Automotive. I was extremely impressed by their professionalism. Within 2 hours of dropping off my car, Billy contacted me with a diagnosis of the problem. He went into great detail to explain the problem and what would be required to fix it. When I picked up my car, Scott gave me copies of the diagnostic reports that were done and explained them in great detail. Called other repair shops in the area to get quotes on the work done and found Cape Fear Automotive prices to be very competitive. I will definitely use them again.

Best auto place I have ever been to. The staff is amazing, very friendly, and knowledgable. They have never tried to overcharge me for things and when they make a mistake (which is rare) they do not charge me for any extra work that had to be done.I would 100% recommend them for any of your car needs.

I needed new tires for my bass boat trailer. I had a friend recommended Cape Fear Automotive to me. I called them this morning and spoken with Kyle and Billy. Billy is the Manager. Billy said to bring it right over and he would take care of it now. So I did.My experience with Cape Fear Automotive is nothing but Great!!!! The are very knowledgeable, friendly with great customer service!!!! When I walked in my tires where pulled and waiting for me. My boat trailer was put into a bay and work started withing the first 3 minutes of my arrival. I had these guys do work on my motorcycle. Billy was very professional on the phone and got my motorcycle running after a bad experience with my previous mechanic!

Go at your own risk. Went in for an alignment and they gave me a inflated list of work. Another mechanic , informed me that my rear arm looked to be loosed up. And this was after I left there.
