I did and appointment and I had to cancel it or move it earlier and he didn’t hesitate and got done all my hub/bearings, brake diagnostics, oil and filter change on 5 hours. Zink installed a set of AST coilovers along with all new suspension components on our MKV R32. The install was completed in the time I was quoted and the work was top notch. He was also able to troubleshoot and make a recommendation on an exhaust leak. Steve and Team are the best in TX.

As an owner of multiple Auto Union cars over the years, I have had more negative experiences than positive ones when it came to propery diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining them by so-called professional mechanics at dealers and indys alike. Due to this reason, I made sure to keep my cars in proper running condition by doing most of the maintenance myself.An aging body with a tight work/life schedule does not offer me much time to tinker, let alone perform major services.After letting my warranty lapse in one of my cars, the dreaded cooling system failure reared its plastic-parts head recently. The only experience I had with an independent auto shop in DFW was with Steve back in 2014 for an air conditioning issue. I was thoroughly impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, and efficiency performing the job back then, so I rang him again to get the latest work done.He hasnt changed much. Straight shooter, no B.S. person with ample knowledge, tooling, and amazing customer service! Once the car was towed into his new shop in Lavon, he tackled the job with speed and accuracy. One of the best specialty shops Ive ever used. The guys here know their stuff, the staff is super friendly, and the owner will work with you every step of the way on what you want done on your car. Price for the work I had done was VERY reasonable, and I definitely wont hesitate to go back. Be sure to make an appointment, as this shop stays busy. Zinkwerks is the go to shop for an affordable and trustworthy Audi/VW mechanic. The only person I trust to work on stuff I can’t or won’t do myself. He did a full engine swap and refresh with a manual swap on my S6, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Also did rotors and on the books for new brake lines. I don’t see my review from their old location here so I wanted to make sure the Lavon shop got the recognition it deserves. I’m excited because now my 50 minute drive doesn’t also include tolls. But the service is worth it no matter what the distance.

5 Star shop. Everyone is great to deal with. Pricing is very reasonable, and they know their Audi’s and VW’s very well. What started as a routine timing belt job became a replacement motor and 6spd swap after we found the lock cracked from a prior owners work. Steve was and able to do a full refresh on the new motor and tackle all the common failure points to help make this a solid of a daily as you can get with an 18 year old Audi. Super happy with the experience, and will be using them for all the work I can’t do myself on the S6 going forwards. Can’t recommend them enough.Update: car has been amazing since everything was refreshed. The original A/C compressor went out recently. Went to the new shop in Lavon for this repair and service was just as excellent as always. A/C blowing colder than it has since I’ve owned it with a new compressor and recharge. I’ve also had some small upgrades and maintenance done since my initial review. There would be 3 or 4 five star reviews from me if Google allowed one for each visit.So thankful to have Zinkwerks to help keep my classic S6 on the road.

Steve and his crew are one of the only Audi shops in DFW that still cater to the speed enthusiast and not solely to profit with easy jobs like Blair Automotive who ignored me. You can’t find a better place and people to take care of your Audi.

Very professional and the best pricing I found anywhere else, while Steve did some very good work and fast as well (he knows his stuff). After we ran into a possible jam (as you always do when modifying cars) he had plenty of ideas and solutions and took care of me that day and I couldn’t be happier. Ive known Mr. Zink since he was working out of a 1 lift garage way back in the day. Very humble beginnings, however I think that helped him build the very strong character you see today; and which is why is he the bad ass success and best Audi mechanic in the Western Hemisphere. Hes never tried to sell me parts I dont need and always completes the job on time like the Transporter (Jason Statham). I like to buy small parts like bulbs, shift knobs, intakes, and fancy grills etc. Steve always treats me fair and gives me a generous price. Thanks a lot Steve yourre the best!

The service was good, however, Im leaving a bad rating because I had tools in the back of my car that are no longer there. I figured the car would be safe inside. Im hoping it was an accident and the tools were misplaced. But until I get them back, Im leaving a bad review.

10/10 recommend Zinkwerks! Professional, knowledgable, wont rip you off and quick! Recently entered the VW world with my purchase of a GTI. Car went out of commission and not being very mechanically inclined, I was scared of what the problem may be and scared of how much it would cost. Was afraid I was going to get ripped off or quoted high going to a VW specialized shop so I tried going to my local everyday mechanic shops. After 2 days of them not being able to fully diagnose the culprit and quoting me an insane amount, I decided to reach out to Zinkwerks and I am SO glad I did. They were able to diagnose my problem within hours of me dropping the car off (even with an already full schedule) and I got a call from them later THAT night that my car was already done and ready for pickup the next day. To add to that, they gave me the best quote out of the 4 shops I called and were the most qualifed! Seriously, recieving that call was the ultimate weight off my shoulders because I was already 4 days deep into a rental car. I will continue to use Zinkwerks for all my VW needs and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!

Awesome shop! I brought my S5 in for a flash tuning. They got my car in and out, they fully explained everything, and went over all of the benefits of the tune. They even offered to re-flash the car after I install a few more mods, to help my car re-learn the new modifications. After all was said and done, I walked out with a faster and better driving Audi, with a much more responsive throttle. They even hooked me up with a few window vinyl stickers.I’d recommend them for any of your German vehicle tuning and service needs.

Great ppl and great service

I had brought my 04 Audi A4 to Steve to see why there was a steady oil drip underneath my car. Long story short, the precious owner took the car to an Audi/VW repair shop where the bolts and hardware was stripped, cam caps werent changed and an all around shotty timing belt job. Steve took the time to show me what exactly was wrong, kept me abreast frequently, and recommended what else should be done. Would highly recommend Zinkwerks in the future for all major repairs

Came back out for something to be fixed. They got me in and out in an hour. Price was extremely fair. I used to have them do the maintenance on my gti when I lived in that area. They do great work.

Brought in my 1993 UrS4 to get a turbo kit/injector/ecu install done. Hardly anyone knows what my car is and even fewer would work on it. In my opinion this is a moderate modification to an old obscure car and Im very impressed with how ZinkWerks handled it and their knowledge level. I cant think of a another place Id bring it back to, not even the Audi Dealership. Tyler was great to deal with in person and through emails and kept me up to date and responded to all my questions. Big thanks to everyone that worked on my car and Id recommend this shop to anyone who needs service/modification. In an industry where honest people/businesses seem incredibly rare, Zinkwerks is a gem.

A friend of mine at my office, who owns a vintage VW bug, told me about your company, after I had just experienced a major almost blown engine with my 2009 Passat. I was about to sale it at scrap, after having the vehicle towed to this shop, and speaking with Tyler about the issues. Not these guys!I used to be a tech, and Ive spent enough time working on Audis. I called the dealer, they wanted a fortune for a few minutes programming work. I talked to Tims German Auto near downtown Fort Worth, and they wanted to charge me an hour because the tech didnt know how to do what I needed done, and he would charge me for his research time as well as his work time. Im sorry, I dont get paid to not know how my tools or my industry works, so Im not paying you to figure out yours.ZinkWerks told me to print out instructions if I could, to help save them some time. I did, it saved a little time, I saved money, and the tech already knew how to make most of the programming changes anyway. He also helped with a couple other minor issues in just a few minutes.

The dealership wanted $3600 to fix the suspension. Zinkwerks did it for about half the cost. The vibration going down the road is gone, it doesnt thump when going over every imperfection in the road, and going down the highway, my 200,000 mile car feels like it did when it was brand new. Tyler and Steve did a great job.

Recently moved to the area and needed a knowledgeable, honest shop to work on my Audi. I had them do some minor gasket work that resolved a long standing idle/vacuum issue. Their assessment and finding the root cause was quick and accurate. These guys treat your car like its their own. If you own an Audi/VW--forget the dealer, forget any other shop--this is the only place to let work on your car.

I have been a loyal customer for Stephen Zink and has brought my car to him for repairs before he opens this current shop. Although it takes about 30 min drive from where I live, its always worth it. It always saves a ton of money and most importantly, they are very honest and passionate about their work and always get things done right!I left the above review about 4 years ago, I still take my car back today though it now takes 1hr drive each way but theres no other place here that can do the work so well with such low cost and they are super nice and friendly.
