I love The Shop in Elk River. When my husband and I moved to Elk River we were nervous to find a dependable auto shop for our cars. Neighbors recommend The Shop and we have been loyal customers ever since. I really appreciate how thorough they are with inspecting our vehicles and the honest work they do. I also don’t mind hanging out in their lobby as they have comfortable seating, complimentary water/coffee and it’s very clean (see photos). We will continue to use The Shop for our automotive needs.

Everyone at The Shop was incredibly friendly, informative, and professional. I felt as though they really cared about making sure the job was done right and that I knew what was going on. I also appreciated the fact that I could borrow a car while mine was being worked on; this made my life WAY easier. I will for sure go back to The Shop if I need anything else while living in the area!

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW... The owner reached out to me and had a great discussion and refunded the cost of the inspection. So, revising my rating because although it wasnt great, they made it right so now you know they have great ownership and take responsibility. Original review below...Beware. I brought my vehicle in because it had significant road nose. They charged me something like $90 for an inspection and told me it was the tires because I hadnt rotated them. Well, I brought it into another shop to replace the tires and they said it wasnt the tires at all but a really bad wheel bearing. I had even mentioned that I thought it might be a wheel bearing to these guys. Anyway, glad I got a 2nd opinion to save me from getting a new set of tires only to find out it wouldnt have helped. Id recommend getting a 2nd opinion if they tell you something is wrong.

We switched to The Shop a year ago for routine oil changes because it was closer than our dealership of 25+ years.We now use them for everything, and am thrilled not only with how close they are, but how quickly they can get us in for service AND how quickly they get the repairs done.Just had to have a new radiator installed and they fit me In right away, and had it ready to go the same day. Additionally, they took the time to explain what had happened, that the labor costs would be higher than a typical repair because they had to take the front bumper off, AND showed me pictures of each phase of the repair.I know NOTHiNg about cars, and since we keep our vehicles for several hundred thousand miles, I need to have a trusted, reliable, customer-focused repair shop. The Shop has continuously exceeded these expectations.

They fixed my a/c and a misfire for me, and quoted things for future visits without being pushy about getting the work done. Great value, and I love that theres a warranty. Will only be bringing my vehicles here in the future.

My engine light came on and my vehicle only has 37,000 miles on it. I stopped and I have never been here before. They were very understanding and gave me options and didnt try to push me into having something done. I decided to get the faulty part fixed and they had it ready when I got off work and Ive had no problems.

I had a fantastic experience with The Shop! Not only were they friendly and got me in and out within the day, they were very accommodating and considerate by updating me throughout the diagnostics and fixes . I was pleasantly surprised when they followed up with me a few days later to check on how things were working and if I was happy with the service. I would recommend this place for car repairs to any of my friends and family.

From the moment they picked up the phone when I was calling around for tire prices they were helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Prices comparable to the others that I called but better warranty. Bought full set for my car, great communication and were very quick. Nice employees and clean shop. Will now be doing my oil changes there as it’s same price as valvoline and I get free tire rotations at every oil change with buying the tires there. Very pleased with The Shop.

Their team is very punctual and get the job done right and quickly without adding small services to ensure your bill stays what you agreed to! Brian then check up with you after with a call and even text to make sure you are on the road doing what you need to do. He even called other shops and found the lowest one when he didnt have my specific parts. Will continue bringing my vehicles back here. Will update with changes:)

Needed a new tire. I called right away when they opened, they ordered a tire and I was able to get in on my lunch break same day! Very satisfied with the quick service!

Had critical failure on the road and had the tow truck take it to The Shop, as it was close and they said they would get a look at it same day. Also offered me a loaner which was very convenient. My car ended up needing extensive engine work. Service writer gave me est of 2100 OTD and seemed very compassionate on the phone while I sobbed like a baby. Car was ready next day by noon! Very fast repair and it drives like a dream now. Fixed a pre-existing light and also increases fuel mileage. Best part was they got the bill down a couple hundred dollars from original estimate. Highly recommend.

I had been to a different shop for an oil change, they noted that a sway bar end link was bad but didnt tell me while I was there. The Shop was able to get me in as soon as I called diagnosed the issue and let me know that both sides were bad not just one. This saved me from possibly needed to make another trip as well as saved me money as the labor for 2 end links was only an additional 15 minutes vs the hour or so for only one. My car is now driving like new. Great service and very professional.

I had a hole right at my sidewall. I told them I would call to order it but didnt have time after my appt. They ordered it regardless and when I called it next morning they told ne they had it and installed it that day in 20 minutes. Very grateful for their proactive measures, awesome customer service and I wasnt mad at the pricing. 100% recommend.

They were very fast at getting me in and out. I immediately felt like they cared about me as a customer and Bryan was very friendly and happy to give me updates throughout the process to let me know how everything was going. I will definitely be coming back here for future automotive work!

I stopped in the day before a long road trip needing 4 new tires. I didnt have an appointment, but they were friendly and able to service my car the same day. When they saw I had my young son with me they offered to let me use a loaner car so I wouldnt have to wait. I will definitely be returning.

I brought my car in the other day to get my air conditioning fixed & they were incredibly helpful & kind. Not only did they fix my air conditioning but they also typed out a list of other repairs that needed to be done on my car as well as a price list. Didn’t realize that when I went in to check an oil leak and have them fix it that it was an opportunity for them to think I had an open checkbook. They told me they were looking at other things and instead of letting me know what they fixed, they fixed whatever they wanted on my vehicle which was $3700.

I have used the shop for many years. Always honest, never trying to sell me things I don’t need. They always let me know what’s coming up for maintenance so I can be prepared for the next time. I use a certain type of oil in my vehicle due to my personal preferences and they always accommodate this even though they don’t normally use that type of oil,. I call them up and let them know I need an oil change and they always have same day available and they call up and order my oil and have it delivered so it’s ready for me when I get there. I would highly recommend them and will continue to issue them myself!

I am not a mechanic, thankfully The Shop in Elk River is full of good ones! On a recent trip into town my car was literally falling apart. My first stop was to see Bryan at the Shop. He took great care of me and my car, arranging for a loaner, and got to working on repairs immediately. I am very satisfied customer!

Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff... I was in the area when I had a flashing engine light come on... they were able to get me in for a check immediately... they went above and beyond... I had my Black Lab in my vehicle and they allowed me to bring him in the waiting area... was a cold day...In addition to identifying the issue, it happened that repair I had at another shop had failed... staff contacted that shop for me and determined that it was covered under warranty... I was able to take it back to them for covered repair... to be candid I thought the fee for the engine light check was high, but comparable to what Ive seen at other shops... I plan to stop at The Shop next time I need a mechanic...

Horrible customer service!! I called to schedule an oil change. To my surprise, they told me I could bring it up immediately. I told them I was on my way. Upon arrival, they told me that it would take an hour and a half. I asked what happened because I was just told that I could be right in. They told me that 4 people just walked in and were ahead of me. I asked why my spot wasnt reserved since I told them I was coming. They told me that they didnt know people were coming. That was a total waste of time.

They did a good and thorough job. They had a loaner available because my car needed to stay a couple of days. My car runs more smoothly now than before. I went to other shops that did not fix the problem, this shop did. Guys were friendly and nice to my dog too....lol

Brian the manager said my 02 codes have nothing to do with the work they did. But when I brought my car in there it was running perfectly with no codes. Told me to leave the shop or hes calling the cops. Hopefully this guy is relieved of his duties very soon.

I had a tire that kept going flat and they were able to get my car in right away. They were professional, friendly, and showed me what was stuck in my tire. Its never fun to spend money on a car repair which is nice that the prices are good. I drive a distance just to get to work each day so my cars health is very important to me. It seemed important to them as well, which is nice. Would highly recommend!!

Price quoted around town for a transmission fluid/filter change. Cheapest in town! Plus I had them check out a small issue I was having, everything checked out fine. They called me the next day to inform me about everything. Very timely and professional. Ill be back for sure.

I came here with a non-reparable flat. The guys at Top were welcoming, professional, and efficient. I was in and out in under an hour with 2 new tires (I opted for a second one with new treads in preparation for winter). I went next door to Cub to pickup a few groceries while I waited and everything was ready to go when I came back out. Good value, quick, easy, and painless. Plus I really appreciated the cleanliness of the waiting facility and availability of hand sanitizer for customers to use (as we continue through this pandemic). Will definitely come back next time I need new tires.

I had a great first experience with this company and I say first because I will definitely return. I had a nail in my tire which needed a plug. After calling the other tire shops and being told at least a week, I called here and was told they would definitely work me in the same day. Once the work was done they provided me with the details on what they found and the checkout process was a breeze. The staff were friendly, there seemed to be a priority on helping all customers regardless of how big or small the service was. Overall great impression.

This is a garage that I have gone to for a few years because I trust their advice the quality of their workmanship and the care which they give the vehicle I believe they are very honest and I have asked some of my friends what they think of the place and they are all in agreement that this is a quality shop they spent a lot of time helping me select tires for my vehicle and their prices have been very competitive or even better

Fixed a flat tire. Tire when picked up at end of the day was 4# under nameplate pressure. The Technician was apparently too hasty to even read the work order or research proper air pressure. Didn’t even check pressure in the other three tires, which were a few pounds low. Got a VERY apologetic call the next morning from the manager. He rebuked his guy and gave me a refund. More than I wanted.

I recently had to take my car in when the check engine light came on. Once the mechanic completed looking over my vehicle, Bryan called me and explained everything that was wrong in detail, the reason it needed to be fixed and what could happen if it wasnt fixed. I was given a quote for cost and gave the ok for the repairs. My car were repaired within 24 hours, I missed the call from Bryan and called The Shop back, I ended up speaking with Chris. He was very courteous, friendly, explained the repairs and let me know my vehicle was ready for pick up. The quote that I was given and what I paid were almost exact, I paid less than quoted. Overall, my experience with The Shop, Bryan and Chris was great. I would recommend The Shop to anyone looking for service on their vehicle.

Got in a fight with a pothole and lost. The team at The Shop had me fixed up and out the door in 2 hours. They did a good job explaining options and gave me a fair deal on a new set of tires. They run a tight ship.

Bryan and his crew at The Shop are excellent! I had a squealing suddenly start in my front wheel/brake area and had the car dropped off after hours. Bryan called me right away in the morning to see what was wrong, and within two hours had the car fixed (had a rock stuck). The cost of the labor was really reasonable, and he was great about the whole process. I’ve used them several times for small check ups, and have always been satisfied with their work.

Everyone I came into contact with was extremely professional during my visit. My car’s issue was quickly diagnosed and repaired. It is clear they take pride in the quality of their work as there is a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty on their repairs. I plan to be a repeat customer and have my oil changes done here from now on!

Do not bring a hybrid to this place. My car was left on for over 45 minutes after an oil change. The guy behind the counter checked the mileage after the oil change and then left it on. After I informed him that my battery was still on he said Ive never driven a hybrid, so I dont know. No apologies at all. Sad. I also had to go back a few days later, because oil was leaking from my car. They said the valve wasnt put in properly. Nice. I had over a quart of oil puddled on my garage floor...

Came in with a flat tire. Bryan and his crew got right on it. They inspected the tire and determined the tire was beyond repair. They had the tire I needed in stock. The job was done in about a half hour. I definently would recommend them.

I am incredibly disappointed with my two experiences at this store. The first time, my car needed to be kept for the night and I was given a loaner vehicle, a rickety pickup that reeked of cigarette smoke. I was not pleased, but the quality of their work was okay, so I wanted to give them another shot.My second experience was today for an oil change, where neither customers nor employees were wearing masks. One of the employees even drove my car without a mask on. I work and live with people who have underlying health conditions, and to see this business not taking the executive order (for all people to wear masks) seriously made me irate. Its not difficult to wear a mask, and if they cant follow this simple rule, what else arent they doing?This shop has lost my business permanently, even if their work was okay.

This shop did work on my 2015 ram. They were very honest about what needed to be done and called me before doing anything on my truck I will gladly be back.

I chose to go to “The Shop” because my nephew works there and I was pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. The staff was accommodating to my schedule and vehicle needs. I appreciated the quick turnaround! Two thumbs up!

Another day, another well serviced vehicle at The Shop. These guys are always friendly and take great care of my Nissan and I. Micah is a spectacular tech and good lookin to boot. 10/10 would recommend.

Brought my truck in to get my breaks checked - after getting them looked over at the shop they said i needed new ball joints which i was not expecting and all new breaks and rotors which i was expecting. They quoted me $3400 to do that telling me the ball joints would take 8 hours to replace and was $1800 of the quote. They also only do ceramic break pads which are more expensive than your average regular break pad I then took it to another location to get a 2nd opinion on it. told them to look over everything - found out ball joints and rods are in great shape and only need all breaks and Rotors - total cost $646. Glad i went somewhere else and didnt fall for this scam.

Took my BMW to get alignment done picked the car up not aligned properly and they blew my O2 sensors. take your german cars elsewhere. also the manager Brian is extremely rude , has no car knowledge and always acts like hes right. Hopefully he is relieved of his duties very soon.

I have had good experiences at this repair shop so I am very hesitant to write a negative review. But I took my vehicle in for a new battery and some AC work and received a huge bill.It is excessive to charge an extra $100 to install a $100 battery (for a total of $200) when other places do the installation for free, I didnt expect that especially when the final bill was $1200.After the battery was replaced, I was told the starter also needed to be replaced, I am not sure what happened to the starter, it cranked fine using a jump box the day I took it in.I dont even know what I was charged for the starter itself, it wasnt listed on the bill but replacing the starter on my vehicle is not difficult and the starter is not expensive.The AC work was performed satisfactory but why charge a $65 diagnostic fee and then do $500 of work, most places waive the diagnostic fee if the customer has the work done.I want to emphasis that I dont think there was any dishonesty on the part of The Shop. This kind of repair might have not been something they do often as it seems they mainly do oil changes, brakes, and tires.

The motor on my 04’ Ford Excursion three a rod and destroyed the motor. They dealt with the warranty company. I was able to get a new motor installed in 3 days. The truck was ready for me for the Memorial Day weekend. Great job! They are now my Go Too Mechanic!! I highly recommend.

Brought my car in for a new tire today and I cant say enough great things about this place. The employees were wonderful to work with. They were efficient and very pleasant. First off, this is the first bad review I have ever written. I am known for giving good reviews to businesses. In October I had my headlamp go out. I stopped at THE SHOP and they replaced the headlight for $109.37 They said it was a difficult job due to the make and model of my car. The breakdown was $74.71 for labor, $25.99 for parts, $6.29 for SHOP SUPPLY and $2.38 for tax. In February my other headlamp went out. I happened to be in Wisconsin when I discovered this. I stopped at a Farm and Fleet store in Baraboo and they replaced the headlamp for $25.30. They charged $9.99 for labor, $12.99 for the parts plus a $1.00 SUPPLY CHARGE and tax of $1.32. How can one place charge almost 7 1/2 times more for labor costs for the same job? $74.71 to $9.99. Best yet is the headlamp they put into my car has already burned out. It lasted less than 9 months!!! Expensive service plus poor quality parts equals poor value! I will never go here again nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

Who can relate?Stopped in for help securing some kind of plate under the oil filter on our Ford F-150 after crawling under the car in my business suit (thank god I wasnt wearing a skirt) attempting to fix. This place rocks. They repaired all the leaks and drips in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I also had them do a Tire alignment. My vehicle now drives like brand new. I wish I would have went to the Shop Tire Service before all of my other bad experiences with the rest of the mechanics in Elk River. The Shop Tire and Service are very friendly, upfront and affordable. Best place in Elk River for Vehicle repairs. Trust me, I have been to them all and these guys are my PEPS for life!!!
