I want to share my first-class experience when I decided to lease (with option to buy) a 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid at Mark Jacobson Toyota in Durham. Chris Hull was my sales consultant—and I strongly recommend him to anyone. He was terrific: Calm, easygoing, knowledgeable and payed attention to what my wants and needs were as well as the priorities most important to me. Chris recommended that I take a look at the Highlander Hybrid. He felt that it would provide the comfort, room and heighth that would address my particular needs and since the majority of my driving is local, it would save fuel while being a bit kinder environmentally. After the test drive, I knew this was the right car for me and met with sales manager Todd Anderson. Both Chris and Todd made it clear that they wanted to work with me to arrive at an agreeable deal and we did. The details of the leasing and paperwork were handled by the business manager, Quincy Hamilton, who did an amazing job of thoroughly explaining each document I was signing and how the various numbers broke down. He made a complicated transaction very straightforward. Chris, Todd and Quincy made the entire experience of choosing a car that was best for me actually a pleasant surprise and made me feel like a valued customer throughout.

After a negative experience with one of our local dealerships, we decided to travel 6 hours to get the vehicle we wanted. Everyone at this dealership was wonderful and treated us like family. Just to name a few people, Deja our sales lady was very knowledgeable and helpful, Jim the sales manager and McCoy the finance manager was great to work with, Tay the director was very helpful, Dana the receptionist is very sweet and easy to talk to and Alex was fun to talk with. Definitely check this dealership out for your next Toyota purchase. We will definitely be returning to them in the future.

My mother and I are new to NC and have no experience about buying a car. As a foreigner everything is harder too. However we had a really good experience at Mark Jacobson, the salesman Ahmad Abukamil is really helpful and very patient since I have to spend a lot of time to translate what he said to my mother. He helped us set everything up including insurance, car plate, title, etc, and he also drove the car back for us. He is easily accessible and willing to help whenever I have questions about the car. Definitely consider this place if you want a vehicle and reach to Ahmad, he will give you the best experience for sure.

I absolutely love going here for my oil changes. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. I haven’t had a bad experience yet. I also love that they don’t try and push extra things on you. They tell you what’s wrong, ask would you like it fixed, if you say “no.” That’s that. Most times you feel almost harassed by people doing the oil changes. They are also very quick. Even when they say it’s going to be a while, it’s never as long as they quote, so there is a plus. Their waiting room is spacious enough to where you don’t feel like Covid is going to jump on your back, they also have chairs outside if that’s your preference.

Three weeks ago we saw a used RAV4 that we were interested in, called to see if we could look at it and when we got there it was in service. Today we got notified that the car was ready and we could come test drive. Arrived, and we were shocked when we saw that there was major damage on the back- the bumper was practically falling off (not on Carfax by the way). Zac was very kind, but it was super annoying that we went there twice expecting to see this auto and it turning out to be pointless.

Impressive!! Ahmad Abukamil was quick to respond to my online inquiry, answered my questions, respected my wishes, “encouraged” me to visit, wrapped things up relatively quickly, and handled my needs after the sale was done. Even followed up weeks later. The Finance experience was conversational without pressure. Things were explained in detail. Even the back office did their thing. My plate was there faster than a sneeze. This whole experience was so completely pleasant!!

Had a very smooth experience buying a new Rav 4 Hybrid. I worked with Al, and he was an absolute treat - a very friendly, calming guy. I was a little high strung to start out with, but he treated my wife and I very well and eased us through the process. I bought two used cars in the span of 2 weeks. My sales rep, James Freeman, went above and beyond on this process. One of the cars had AC issues which was fixed before I purchased. But it went bad and he stood by the sale and made it right, fixing an issue post sale, while also repairing a bulge-out on the left wheel well fender and replacing a headight. His communication during this process was top notch. Im super pleased and would reccomend the used car sales team to anyone.

Just bought my very first car in my life at Mark Jacobson Toyota and it was a really great experience to me. Chris helped me to selected 2020 Corolla, which match both my budget and my exceptions. It seems like the customers that make their appointment days and weeks before the date, trying to avoid the so LONG waiting time are not important. It makes me feel so irritate even when I am writing this review or feedback when I think that this is the second time I give y’all shop a chance and you disappoint me. One thing I will say that John (spanish guys) was very gentle and caring with me when I came. But again, the LONG waiting time that I have to go through again (because of different reason than before) is unacceptable. I am honestly done with bringing my car to your shop, and will surely make sure other people know about my experience. So sad that a well know band and company give this type of experience to a loyal customer.

We live in the salt belt and all the used cars up here are very rusty. We decided to look in other states so we can find what we were looking for and we found it at Mark Jacobson Toyota. We worked with Antoinette. She was so kind and helpful. Antoinette went above and beyond to help us. She even made sure to send us videos of the car and the undercarriage so we could feel confident with purchasing the vehicle sight unseen. Antoinette even offered to pick us up from the airport and made sure that we had a full tank of gas for our drive home. We hired a 3rd party inspector to check out the vehicle for us and they accommodated this request without a problem. This is a trustworthy dealership and it is very clear that they really care about their customers. It was absolutely worth the 7 hour drive from Pennsylvania. I highly recommend buying your next car here.

8 hours and $80 later --> no solutions. On June 25, 2021, I dropped my car off at 7am with a description of the cars problem - noise. My expectation was to pay for a solution. The dealership provided a wonderful woman who drove me back to campus. Hours later someone called but gave a laundry list of things that couldnt seriously be causing the noise, especially since the noise started when the car was still in park. When I finally was picked up and brought back to the dealership, they gave melist of 10 things that might cause a noise, if there was even a noise, and insisted I pay first before test driving the vehicle. I refused to pay. Tried to find a manager. Finally some guy came out and drove me up and down the street. He said it was a leak in the exhaust. I asked how much to repair it. He had no idea. They told me I could come back after the weekend (June 28) so they could look at the exhaust system to get a more specific answer and a repair estimate. Very disappointing. Why would anyone bring their car in for a whole day to hear an answers like those? Why wouldnt they KNOW where the leak was AND give me a repair estimate before calling me back?I was too angry (and busy - I was only at Duke for 10 packed days of classes) so we ended up leaving Durham and heading 900 miles north to Michigan.The first muffler shop we pulled in there was a woman standing outside. I rolled down my window and asked if they would be open the next day (July 5). She said yes and she said it sounded like a flex pipe problem. The next day we pulled in, a few minutes later the mechanic had our car up in the garage, he walked me underneath it and showed me the flex pipe and how he would fix it. And an hour later we were back on the road with a new flex pipe - $87. That garage is getting a 5 star review.Mark Jacobson Toyota, I want a refund. I got nothing for my $80.

Finding and purchasing a car can be overwhelming, exhausting and stressful. Happily, this was absolutely not my experience at Mark Jacobson Toyota in Durham. I was searching for a car that would fit my limited budget and found one online at Mark Jacobson. I live in Raleigh where there are plenty of dealerships, but my friend persuaded me to make the trip to Durham to check it out. My salesman was Zeke Vasquez and he was amazing. He was very low-key, helpful, knowledgeable, patient...all the things I needed that day. We located a car with some years and some miles on it, but was in pristine condition, regularly maintained...one previous owner. I was able to stick to my budget and drive away with a much nicer car that I thought I could own. Zekes manager offered me a great price plus a very fair trade-in for my old car. The finance person ran several scenarios to get a monthly payment I was comfortable with. I appreciated that no one was pushy with me and they respected my budget. Zeke went the extra mile by driving my new car back to Raleigh for me, helped me empty my old car and drove the trade-in back to Durham. My quick clean out left some items behind in the console, so the next day, Zeke rescued them for me. I will definitely be steering my daughter to Mark Jacobson when she is ready to purchase her own car.

Today my 69 year old mother went to get a inspection. She is retired and is on a fixed income. She didn’t not realize she didn’t have the money on her card.. again she is on a fixed income from retirement. Chris (from that department) told her why did she even come in if she knew she didn’t have any money. First off she didn’t know she had the money and secondly she felt embarrassed by the way he spoke to her. While another woman there at the desk can hear i might add. I am her daughter. I was called and paid it over the phone. Then while I was on the phone instead of just apologizing after she brought it up to him. He just argues with her. The issue I have is where is the respect for elders or old fashion customer service or compassion or care?!? The total was 13 dollars btw. She felt like she was being treated like she was trying to steal 13 dollars. Chris is the manger and I know several people that came in contact with him and he is known for his rudeness.

Service and sales are good. The down side is the dealership is not handicap accessible. Only one door opens automatically. All others open manually. The restrooms are also not assessible. I brought this to the attention of one of the managers today, and we will see what happens.

You simply can’t buy a Toyota in the Triangle without going to Mark Jacobson Toyota and asking to work with Deja Johnson. I’ve never bought a car with someone who I felt was so honest and was actually listening to my priorities and working to find a solution that would work best for me, not just for her wallet. Even after all of my research prior to this purchase, she came up with some super helpful ideas on aspects of the car choice that actually worked better for me than what I came in expecting to buy. I didn’t feel that she was trying to work me to get herself an extra couple hundred dollars here and there. Honestly, with her cool and kind demeanor, Deja probably sells too many cars to happy customers to have to play games on each sale. I can’t recommend her enough – she was genuine, honest, fun to be around, intelligent, patient, knowledgeable, and gave me the best car buying experience that I’ve had. We all go to buy a car with a bit of dread, so it’s nice to work with someone whose advice you feel that you can trust.

Just bought a 2021 RAV4 this weekend. Had an awesome experience with our Sales guy Chris Hull. We traveled 2.5 hours to purchase this car and Chris was phenomenal. He worked with me through emails/text to get us an out the door price before we even made the trip. He was not pushy at all and very pleasant to work with. It was the best salesman experience we ever had in buying a car. He has since contacted me (on his day off) to check on the car and told us not to hesitate in contacting him on his personal cell.On another note, wasnt too happy with our finance guy (Mr. French) who was a little rude to my husband & I directly in front of our salesman. I understand he wanted to help us with saving money, etc. but not everyone wants a high car payment, especially when I already told him we had a lender that was giving us the rate/term that we felt comfortable with because we always pay off our vehicles early anyway. Our credit scores are Excellent for a reason! As a matter of fact, had it not been for Chris (our salesman) who apologized to us several times, we would have walked out.

Worst service out of Honda Nissan and Toyota. Go in with no issues then while it’s getting it’s first service they come out and say nail in tire. Now we have to add air every day after service but had no issues before we took it in. 2021 Toyota 2018 Nissan and I still love the service I receive at Nissan.

An absolute joke of customer service. I really dont like to bash anyone online but enough is enough. First, I brought my car in for its six month annual service and when it was done, they had left their latex gloves on the passenger seat and literally handed me the keys and that was it. No explanation, no have a good day no nothing. I was willing to chalk it up to having a bad day, we all have them. After a month or so I turned the fan up full blast for my AC once day and the whole dash started to vibrate. I scheduled another appointment with them to get it fixed and when they fixed it their explanation was yeah some bones or something was stuck in the hoses and once again they left those bones and something on my passenger seat. No explanation. I am currently in the market to trade in my car for a different Toyota and scheduled an appointment to look at a specific make and model car. I just got a phone call saying it had sold. I had scheduled this appointment a week out and have gotten phone calls, texts, and emails confirming the appointment repeatedly to a point that I was ready to cancel only to have the car that I was looking for be sold. Absolute joke. There are better examples of customer service out there.

I had such a great experience buying my first new car here! I was helped by McCoy and everything went very smoothly. I was able to get the car I wanted for less money than the back up option I was looking at because I thought it would be cheaper. I ended up being there a while (no fault of theirs, I had a few of my own issues that I had to work out, yay pandemic) but as I was there longer I got to meet Edwin who was just so much fun to talk to. I was also helped by Frank as well and I really cannot say enough positive things about my whole experience! My husband & I went to look at different vehicles on a Saturday. We were in search of a new family vehicle as we have a growing family. This was our first ever car shopping experience. When arriving a salespersons immediately came up to my husband and she helped us look at different cars. We were able to test drive one of the cars we had in mind which was great. On Tuesday my husband got a call that the vehicle was in & if we could come in. I work until late in the evening & my husband let our salesperson know that and that Thursday would work best as that is my day off. She stated she was off on Thursday & if there was any way we could make it in that evening. I ended up leaving work 1 hour early to accommodate the sales rep, we got there around 6:45, she shows us the van, and informs us we are next in line to meet with the finance rep. We think great, we go ahead and order dinner for pick up since we had not ate dinner before arriving to dealership. We were not in fact next because we ended up not meeting the finance rep until 9pm. Very frustrating as we have our 9 month old baby with us & had not had dinner. To top it all off the paperwork we signed that night had the wrong VIN!!! Our tags, registration and paperwork ALL had the wrong VIN. I noticed this error the next day, Wednesday, when attempting to set our insurance up. We contacted our salesperson and she stated that we would need to come back in to re-sign. She stated it would only “take 5 minutes”. We live 30 minutes away, had spent the previous night there until very late with our baby and I was not about to spend yet another evening after work at the dealership. I requested they accommodate us as that was their error. She stated she would speak to the manager to figure out a solution. That evening when I got home from work I had to call and ask to speak to a manger to follow up since I had not heard from our salesperson. He was very helpful and kind and stated someone would meet us at our home the next day to help correct the error. Thursday I still had not heard anything by lunchtime and called to speak to a manager but got voicemail boxes that time which I left a message for. The finance rep returned my call shortly after and asked me to come in which I denied and requested they accommodate us and come to our home for signing the new paperwork. He came out to our home that afternoon. We are thankful that in the end they did work with us by accommodating to our request but it was very difficult and frustrating to get it straightened out in the beginning. I hope they never make this mistake as it was such a headache. You would think they would have protocols in place to prevent this from happening.

Big thanks to the people at Mark Jacobson Toyota. Deja has helped me for the last few months find a car that fit my needs and budget and made the car buying experience very customer friendly and efficient! Everything was prepared when I got to the dealership, which made things a lot less stressful. Quincy also offered great customer service on the financial end. Overall, as my first solo car buying adventure, I’d say Deja and Quincy made it as good as they could have. When the time comes to buy again or trade, i’ll be back.

I was in the market for a new car, as my old large SUV just isnt very practical for commuting. So, I stopped by the Mark Jacobson Toyota pre owned department. David Levithan was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. I was not present for the final purchase, but I heard the process was very smooth and the finance staff was excellent. So far, I am in love with my Certified Used 2017 Corolla, and it is definitely the perfect car for my needs. I highly recommend Mark Jacobson Toyota, and I will definitely stop by the next time I am in the market for a new or used vehicle!

Me being in sales for over 10 years, I can truly say, she exemplified what it means to avoid self dealing and put the needs of the client first. Her rapport from Sunday to Wednesday was impeccable and she shown due diligence when adversity of management didnt show sympathy; despite all, this woman fought for the best interest of me and kept her promise to have me leaving out the dealership with a car. They enticed me with a 19.99 service for my car at the 5k/6 month mark, but then charged me for an oil change, which he quoted 24.99 but really it was 64.99 and i ended up paying 73 dollars. Entrapment if you ask me. 5k is the recommended pull change mark, so you lure me in with 19.99 then slap the oil change on me when i get there. Not honest business of you ask me. Find an honest mechanic that is transparent about expectations.

Alfredo is a solid sales rep! Ask for him! I don’t say that often, but he was solid! Juggled multiple clients/buyers at once (holiday was short staffed), and still did check ups and follow ups with other staff and crew to get our car ready!Long and the short is that we had to wait 7hrs till our car was ready - through no fault of Alfredo or the detail crew that did the majority of the car prep. The day was packed, and the car was…. Dirty.I share that to say this: it was long wait, yes, but Alfredo stuck with us the whole day on this project- and kept checking, rechecking, and following up all throughout the day without being prompted!

My wife and I are expecting a baby so we decided to buy an SUV. We made the worst mistake of our lives by buying from here. We should have done our research before and that was our mistake. We paid almost 48k for a 2021 Highlander Limited when the average price for that is around 43-44k at most. We went there to talk to them about how bad our deal was but they will not help. Imagine expecting a baby with all the expenses that comes with it and being cheated out of money. Please if you are reading this DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Shop around especially nearby states. You will get a great deal. This place is SHADY and a total RIP OFF.

I didnt realize there were so many folks ahead of me as they had not waited for their vehicles. I was looking at the amount of folks in the waiting room and it was sparce. I needed tires and a brake flush. I left at 11:45. I thought when they told me what was needed my car was still in the bay and it was not. I would have left it and returned had I known. Next time I will ask before I sit down.
