I love shopping at this store. Although there going through renovations right now its still easy to find everything. Only downside is lots of empty shelves. But after asking its a supply problem.

Stop & Shop, once a proud go to supermarket for us New Englanders, now just a run down, busted out dump. This location specifically used to be nice.... I do not know what went wrong here. Self scan tools have been out-of-order for at least 2 months now, the meat section has no paper towels to wipe your hands in the event of a package leaking, which I had happen from a pack or poorly handled chicken. Deli is closed while the store is open? I understand there is a lot to clean and put away, but going in an hour before closing on a week day, the deli should be open. They dont even take the meat out of the display case, they leave it in there, that should be pulled to the refrigerators out back come on S & S, whats it take 30 minutes to wipe down equipment? That deli should be open while the store is open no question. No employees to be seen on the floor, with the exception of what Im guessing was a Manager type person who was stuffing already filled shelves, while coughing mind you, in what I would also guess be an attempt to avoid the checkout aisles, because after being disgusted by that I went straight to check out only to find the self scan check outs CLOSED!!!! You gotta be kidding me right? Not only is it an affront to us, the consumers, that we have to pay you the store for the privilege to scan, and bag, our own over-priced groceries, but you cant even make sure those are working? Thirty minutes to an hour before close you should have more than one register open. I will give credit to the kid working the register, Brendon, or Brandon, he scanned the same pack of chicken that wouldnt ring up at least 15 times before the Manager begrudgingly came over to help him, well we just scanned another one that was the same price to resolve the issue. I was shocked that someone actually helped bag my purchase, I believe her name was Wendy, her, and the Brendon/Brandon guy were very helpful, and surprisingly not stressed considering the growing line of frustrated, and most likely tired shoppers behind me. The amount of labor strikes this company faces I guess its not to surprising that this is the experience we are faced with. It definitely is NOT time to Stop & Shop.

Lack of management, poorly stocked, items totally mixed up, hard to find anything, every single day items are in different places. Employees very rude, the Russian lady from the deli thinks she owns the corporation. Which they shut down and open up a shaws supermarket over there.

Stop& stop here at Newbury plaza in danvers ma 01923. Very good super market. Fresh vegetables to fresh fruit. Always has what you want.

This grocery store was super clean well stocked very large and had great employees working there it was not very busy so I can wheel all around with no problem highly recommend this store lots of selections

They always have the best quality meats and dairy, as well as a great selection of produce. I am especially happy about their Jewish holiday selection. I married someone Jewish and they are the best store in the area to buy things for my spouses family gatherings.

Havent had a bad experience here yet. Convenient location. Clean eveytime I come here especially for the amount of bussiness. Has dunks. Does the gas rewards here. Friendly staff. Updated ATM at citizens now allows u to pick denominations, not just 20$ bills. Carries just about eveything and if it doesnt stock it, somewhere in this plaza most likely does.

Its stop and shop. I just wish they had a fresh seafood department. Hence the reason for only 4 stars.*reply to stop and shop* thank you for the reply. I know some stores have the fresh seafood department, its just in my area they do not, otherwise I like stop and shop. I mean I used to work there when I lived in southeastern Massachusetts. Its just I prefer to do all my shopping in one store and feel as if youre losing business because of the lack of the fresh seafood department in some stores. So I normally shop elsewhere because of this. 🤷*

Everyone is so nice there its my new store Im from upstate New York and from the assistant manager Erica to I cant name the other employees but Mary and Mary help me today I think Linda and God I cant think of his name was trying to find me a special item and they were trying to help me yesterday when I was in produce and but every time I go there everyone is helpful and friendly customer service is so important and that store is always clean and efficient I think you have to be nice to work there you only hear about the bad and never the good so I wanted to put a note in for that store in particular sincerely Margaret

Good luck returning your bottles or cans to the Danvers Stop&Rob. Every week I buy beer from this supermarket and every week I attempt to return the very bottles I buy from this store and every time I put them in the machine and it scans the barcode it’s states “unauthorized” and rejects the bottle. It is very interesting they can charge a redemption fee but will not accept their own bottles when a customer try’s to return them. Probably why the redemption machines are always available because they are rigged to not work at all! Highly illegal and I will contact the state on this matter. Shameful business practices Stop&Rob!

Fairly busy, but I got right in and out with self checkout. Well stocked and huge. I found just what I was looking for.

Was happy with the produce choices this time need to keep checking certain fruits and vegetables sometimes i see them with mold growth and its way to soft n nasty liquids when picking them up

Locate in a good spot ,easy access from I95 and route 1. Plenty parking. Supermarket very clean and organize. You can use the scanner from stop and shop make the shopping easy and fast. Excellent customer service.

Why open a store early if you customer service desk isn’t going to be open until an hour later? I understand that labor is probably short due to the pandemic, but this is extremely inconvenient to customers. Why not cross-train a cashier or a stocker to at least do rentals?

Love the Stop & Shop sale prices. Love the Stop & Shop label for Organic Low Sodium Chicken Broth. I buy a lot of the S&S products because of quality and price. However. Ive noticed the meats are labeled Minimally Processed. The chicken breasts especially do not taste right. I dont like it. There seems to be too much of whatever is added, and it changes the flavor. I had a reaction to the pork chops, which also have the Minimally Processed label. I dont buy these any more. I could not find out what this meant exactly.

Used to come here all the time, but less and less now, choices have been whittled down and replaced with Stop & Shop brand items, never more than 3 registers open, no baggers, they want you to use self checkout and are offering less and less services, employees are cold and standoffish. used to be so much better, now its annoying and frustrating, and it has nothing to do with the pandemic either

Great selection and mildly helpful employees. Regular prices are a bit high, but they have good sales to balance. The robot running around the aisles is a bit unnerving, especially when it just stops right behind you and you go to turn around theres a T800 standing 1 foot away from you...

Plenty of parking, well cleared of snow and ice. Inside, the store is clean and shelves are well stocked.

There were a lot of empty shelves. Went in early at 6:45 am. A fair amount of seniors doing their shopping. There was plenty of staff working and helping. I thought there was still plenty of choices, just need to be flexible. Still no toilet paper and very limited cleaning supplies. There was re stocking going on.

My Son has an addiction problem we call him Jr. Hes in a relapse situation on the streets got robbed they took his wallet so there went his ID. Walked into Stop and Shop and asked a very knowledgeable customer service representative for help would they help me to get money to him with no ID? I was speaking King Jesus through the pain with the Holy Spirit conviction. The TRUTH. I was not proud of and broken. I was met with a gentleman (thank you sir) a compassionate angel such a good man. An Angel. He said come to counter Ill work you through this be CALM angel. He said Ill take care of you gladly. He asked me is he coming off the streets to get help? I said that is y Im sending the money to him. He hanged me the paper I signed it he said he needs this code # and password no ID. Thank you Stop and Shop Im grateful. So if you want to meet Angels I met one there. Last he smiled and said Ill say a prayer for you and your Son have a good day.

Not often do I shop at this store but today was the worst experience going thru the cashier line. In the past I purchased wine and the cashier offered me a handy wine tote for free. She told me to return with it again if purchasing wines. So, today I remembered to bring that tote with me! As I approached the check out line. I simply Said to cashier ,” brought a tote bag “ The big burley woman sharply barked at me that I could bag all my own items! Trying to explain was not a option to this drill Sargent ! Frankly I was afraid of her! Somehow I was no longer the customer and she was the bully behind the plastic covid shield! Can’t wait to return to market basket!!

What I like about Stop & Shop is the personal check out I like being able to check out my own groceries its easier than waiting in line and you get two bags of yourself if you have your card with you you can also scan the items as you put them into your bag is you use the device will you check out and you dont even have to take the products out of the bag Stop & Shop has most everything you need its clean it but I also like about it is its open later than other grocery stores sub used to be open till 11 they probably still are if not 10 then 11 they are clean and youre never waiting in line forever they keep a lot of lines open and then they have the self-checkout which I love

Big clean store with an easy parking lot. It was a bit hard to find things because of the way the aisles are laid out it can be hard to see the signs on the last few aisles on either side. But a great store to just go up and down each aisle. And got what we needed.

I drink Gold Peak Diet Tea and this chain is the only one I can find it in a 64 ounce size for the same price as others get for a 52.Now I live in Kansas and I have never seen a ROBOT that strolls around the store finding problems or helping with your shopping unassisted, so funny. Stores are always clean and well stocked...

Pretty decent layout, except for the fruit & veggies section. Not always fresh & always seems disorganized. The rest of the aisles seem well organized & shelves are well stocked. The beer & wine section is nice - a lot of options & fairly priced. Overall cost of items are pretty competitive with other grocery stores, some things being a little pricier.

Overcharged on Coca Cola for the 3rd time. Everytime they have a sale on Coke and I forget to check the receipt I have to go back to the store for a refund. Somebody needs to check store prices ,reciept prices, and online prices and make sure the customer does not get shorted and have to drive back for a refund. Just shopping these days is hard enough. My fault for not checking the receipt but I shouldnt have to. I should be able to trust my local grocery store.

This Stop and shop location seems to be better than other stop and shop locations I have been to. I dont like how s&s seems to be phasing out human workers. Besides self check out, there is only ever 2 lanes open. One is for less than 20 items, and they rarely have baggers

Happy to see items are slowly returning to the shelves since the pandemic. Clean environment & saftey precautions were being used.

Theres a robot that roams the store and is, for the most part,q always in the way. Theres too many self check outs and usually not enough staff. If stop and shop wants me to be a cashier and bagger for myself theyre gonna have to offer a better hourly wage than nothing.

I love this store and staff! I shop here every week but today I needed to find special foods for a holiday dinner. I called ahead to be sure they had the bakery and meat items that I required and the store manager was so responsive. He walked between the two departments and reserved exactly what I needed. Great service just like a small local specialty store!!! Thank you!

The store is very well kept and clean. I give it only four stars because of their general pricing. It is an expensive store. However, sometimes their specials are great and draw me in.

Overall everything was up to super market standards, but one of the people at the register was having a break down, and seemed to be talking behind our back. But the robot was funny so Im giving 3 stars.

I’ve been a frequent shopper here for 6 years and I think I’ve only experienced two good experiences. Smh I usually avoid the employees at all cost. I mostly use self check out but when I have to engage in any kind of conversation with ANY of the employees it’s usually never a pleasant one, no one smiles, no one has manners. I’m not sure if any of the employees know how to service customers. They all seem miserable and mad, mostly unapproachable, especially the employees working at the deli. Honestly, at the deli the guys that work there are always nice, it’s the freaking woman.. they don’t smile, they don’t say anything back when I say thank you and when I ask for my meat sliced a certain way it’s like the end of the world for them. I honestly stopped going here for a while but it’s literally so convenient I keep going back but I really feel like striking this location again. It’s just awful. I wish I could have a good talk with them and explain what CS means, I was a CS coach for 4 years so when I see how awful it is is get to me.

Always quality food. Ive been shopping here my whole life and dont plan on stopping. I didnt cross the picket line though. ;>)

I was just in this store this morning (June 1, 2020). So I get up at a ridiculous hour to shop, 6:30 am, get to the store and go in. The guy sitting in the chair at the front who I guess is checking people for masks and age is sitting there playing with his phone and not even looking up. Then after I check out I’m leaving and there is a young woman standing at the front of the store with no mask on at all and the guy who is supposed to be checking people is not even at the door anymore and it’s not even 7:30 (senior hours).

12/29/2017 Entered the store 3 carriages inside and in that area the floor was covered with trash. Incredibly dirty. Many shelves were empty or low in stock. Upon leaving the store every area where the carriages are stored outside were filled. People have been telling me for quite awhile how dirty this store is and I finally agree.

No doubt, S & S has everything. I wish more giant grocery stores would be consumer friendly and have rest rooms at the front of the store like Shaws.

RUDE RED-HAIRED CASHIER - I have been doing 95% of my food shopping for the last 4 years at the this grocery store, although the prices are higher than Market Basket, the gas discount incentive and the mostly friendly and helpful staff were my overriding reasons for shopping at the Stop & Shop. At least until this past Sunday when I had my last of three different negative encounters with the same red hair shorter lady, who usually has the 12 or less lane. She has been incredibly difficult and rude to me. Although I make every effort to avoid her, even delaying checkout until she goes on break or there is a shift change, last Sunday I went to a particular checkout were she was not; however, she came over to assist with bagging. She immediately began bashing customers to the nice cashier as to how they did not listen to her directions etc.The nice cashier handed me a bag which I placed in the carriages front rack, rude and obnoxious bagger firmly and rudely told me that she had intended to place my two bottles of Poland Spring there instead. Enough is enough with this lady, so I tossed the misplaced bag into the main part of the carriage to which she responded in a critical manner as if she were shocked at my responding rudeness. Well I thought of bringing this three-time rude lady to the attention of management but felt it would be fruitless, so instead that will be my last visit to Stop & Shop and Market Basket will become my grocery store.

Best stop and shop Ive been to this far, although they dont have a few products I love that most do such as jalapeno potatoes, Maggies beef bullion cubes and the jar of cilantro. Other than that kind Staff and great entertainment.

I was horrified to see that staff refused to make people wear masks in the store..............I will not be back. This is NOT a safe store to shop in

Always pretty clean here. I had a bad Talenti Gelato streak in my life and Stop n Shop was the biggest enabler. I appreciate your consistency in selection and taste.

Prices generally higher than Market Basket , unless its on sale. I usually buy only the things on sale, even though the store is closer to me than Market Basket. It does have a good selection of produce.

High prices, 70% of staff surly, apathetic. Not enough registers open.

Purchased beyond burger plant based meat is the worst opened up smelled like Alpo dog food and tasted after cooked tasted like smelled my stomach curled n I got so sick never again will I purchase that again no other plant based meat has ever smelled or tasted so bad they should refund folks for this and that company should be shut down for selling foul smelling and tasting food I wasted $6 me and my wife could not eat it thats how bad it is and also they are selling yogurt and dairy out of date products from last month the 26 of May its now June 2 bad choice for market.
