I dropped my car off for a 9:00 am appointment for state inspection and was told by the man behind the counter it would be ready in 45 minutes and would receive a phone call. I came back at 11:30 after not hearing anything from them and they told me they haven’t started and would be at least another hour. When I asked why, the woman behind the counter (different person now) put the blame on me for being an hour late for my appointment. I politely confirmed that I was told 9am and asked why the man before told me 45 minutes if that was the case, didn’t mention that they thought I was a whole hour late, and why they didn’t call me to tell me it would be more like at least 3 hours and she again said if I was on time it would have been done. I asked for my keys and will never go back. Not even an apology. No respect for people’s time.

Every time I come they always give me 1 price and as soon as the service is complete they tell me a price way more than what was quoted originally and they only do it after they performed the service without telling me of the change in price. Sadly, this has happened twice now. Never going here again. Do not recommend this place at all.

Called them at 8am asked how much for oil change for bmw they told me 130 and that my car needed 8 quarts. Also asked for a price for brakes. Dropped the car off at 9 to be told my car needs 10 quarts and the price was now 170. 40 more dollars for two quarts? Never got a call back about brakes price. I called them at 1230, they said it doesn’t need pads and couldn’t figure out what it needed. I told them to forget it and just do the oil change. I continued to wait for a call that my oil change was done. I called at 430 and was told come at 530. I went at 530 to be told they ran out of my cars specific oil and they went out to get some. Which ok my car takes special but CALL ME, tell me it’s going to take longer so I can run a errand or not have to wait at the store. Why waste my time? Waited another 15 mins and finally got my car back. Awful customer service and high prices !

Great for oil changes, but I wouldnt trust them for anything other than a flat tire. It took them a week to do a 3-1/2 hour job. They make lots of excuses when they discover that they are over their head on a major repair.Lesson learned: should have taken it to my dealers service shop. They may be expensive but the job will be done correctly and on time.

Stopped in to Safeway with a last minute severe oil leak at an hour or less to their closing time. I was unsure if they would even be able to look at it before they closed and expected to be leaving my car till tomorrow. Not only did they check my vehicle they offered to fix it on the spot to get me back on the road. What more could you look for in a place of business? Well worth your time.

I had do get some extensive work done on my car recently. Im glad I came here. Safeway is the cleanest mechanics I have ever stepped foot in! They did top notch, quality work and it was within my budget. And they were honest.

Got a full synthetic oil change for a very reasonable price. They were helpful, attentive, and even cleaned up some of the trash I had in my car! Lol

Ive only gone here for an oil change but every time Ive come here, the manager Louis has provided great customer service. Hes transparent to whats being done on my car and suggests appropriate car care maintenance for in between and future visits. If I ever need any other maintenance done, Ill be sure to come here.

I had never been to Safeway Oil but had friends who had gone before so I figured I would try it out when I got a flat tire. Luis took the time to get me various estimates for the tires in addition to showing me the deteriation on my wheels and how to prevent such from happening next time. He got me the best deal for a set of four tires and made it convenient for me to get my car fixed while at work. He went out of his way to make sure I had my car before a snow storm. I would recommend this company if youre looking for a friendly place that will make sure you get quality service and work with what you need.

Went in for an oil change and it was quick and easy. Had a running headlight that was out they asked to fix and I kindly denied. Didn’t push me to repair like other companies. Definitely coming back!

Good breakfast place down the street when the repairs take a while. Great brewery resto up the street if the wait is after noon.

I had to have replaced a power window motor today they were very efficient and also very reasonably priced and also it didnt take them that long to finish the job today a job that was well done and I also had other work done on my vehicle over there I highly recommend this repair shop.

Great service. Pulled up because I saw the sign, and they were quick to help do a 17 point oil change(highly recommend, comes with vacuum and windshield cleaning too)on my mothers car. Will come again.

Love this place. My car ended up needing more work than I thought and had to stay over the weekend. It is the only car we own and I didnt have any spare money on me, so one of the employees, I wont mention any names, paid for a lyft ride. I think I will be coming here for my routine maintenance. Very friendly staff and they know what they are talking about.

Ive never been compelled to write a review about my experience with any services until I got an Oil change at Safety Way. Greg and his crew were beyond accommodating, friendly and did my oil change and tire rotation within 25 minutes or so. The entire crew made it a point to say hi, and even vacuumed and cleaned my car exterior after the oil change. These guys are awesome and I will be visiting them every 3,000 miles (or three months). Highly recommend to anyone who needs an oil change, break work, etc.

I went in for an inspection today roughly a half hour wait so that was great, only real issue is that they smoke inside the building and while my vehicles was there for the inspection my doors were left open so now the entire interior of my vehicle smells like cigarettes. Other than that everything went great I just have to have my windows down to air out the cigarette smell

I wanted to thank the mechanics of Safeway on Atwood avenue in Cranston for their excellent service on my vehicle. My wife and I went in this morning for an oil change and inspection. They went above and beyond with outstanding customer service. They Informed me of preventative maintenance and that my tire pressure was not correct and even corrected the issue. The price was fair and service was excellent. They put plastic in the car and even vacuumed it! I go to Safeway with my company vehicle and my personal vehicle for all repairs/maintenance. I highly recommend Safeway to anyone who cares about their vehicle and want to know that their vehicle will be properly serviced by quality mechanics!

I wanted to take a moment to warn unsuspecting motorists from being swindled. My husband recently went there to get, what he thought was a quick inspection of his car, before proceeding on with his day. He was told his car failed (which was unexpected) and that the estimate for repairs would be $900. His car was then put in the registry and he had 30 days to comply.Thinking the price was high, he looked online for the parts, and found pricing for the exact parts for a quarter of the price that he was quoted. Additionally, he visited another inspection station, and was told that, while there was some wear in the issues reported, it was not a failure, but that since it was reported there was nothing he could do. That inspection station then quoted a repair price 1/3 of the cost of these folks!BUYER BEWARE: while my husband had no problem with needing to get these issues fixed, nor a problem with the failure being reported, he had a HUGE problem with the pricing of the repair services.These folks are there for the almighty dollar, and have no respect for the customer, or any sense of honesty. My advice - get a second opinion. Better yet, go somewhere else!

I failed my inspection the first time, and instead of pressuring me into getting my service done here, they actually gave me advice on how I could do it myself when I asked! Once it was fixed, I was late showing up, but Louis took care of my reinspection immediately. Great service, great people!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. those men are crooked and stupid. They claimed a spring from my.hood was missing .. they told my bf that my car had a million things wrong to keep charging us for repairs. Until those stupid best in town mechanics seen that my bf knew about cars they shut right up and had nothing to say and they spring of my hood was found they gave my bf back my cat without vacuuming my car. Didnt clean my windows, theyre still dirty and disgusting. When I called to let them know that I was not happy with how they were treating my car and that its unprofessional how they were doing things the MANAGER of the place didnt even apologize for anything. Just had a smart remark for all that I said. This place needs to be closed down. They try to steal money from people. Tried it on my bf because they thought he knew nothing about cars. Dumbasses. never going there and making sure all the mechanics I do know , know that the place is horrible.

Greg and his guys are the best, always ready to help. Ive never had a problem with any work theyve done, and today was the 3rd time this year that I called asking if they could look at a problem, and the answer is always, bring it right over, well take a look. Last summer they fixed a bad thermostat at very short notice, when it started to go right before my vacation.Today I had a minor accident that crunched the front wheel well so that it was rubbing the wheel and I wasnt sure if there was damage under the car. It was 5 when I called, but Joe said, bring it right over. He put it on the lift and worked on it for about half an hour - put everything back into place, smoothed out the dented panel, and assured me that the only damage was cosmetic. And charged me only $50 for the labor.

Liars and up sellers. Went in for my inspection and I paid for several different repairs that werent even necessary. They wouldnt pass my inspection until I did the things that they suggested for safety reasons. After I got the repairs done I found out that what they had done had been done 2500 miles before I bought the car. The manufacturer book suggested that repair every 50000 miles. The man at the front desk had nearly zero ability to comprehend anything he was reading about out of state inspections. I read the exact same thing and he wasnt able to understand what it said even after I explained it to him. Idiot!

Horrible people. Im a younger girl who brought my car in for an oil change, and they look at me like Im stupid. They overcharged me and quoted me for the completely wrong thing. I authorized them to so an oil change and fix 7 light bulbs which were 2$ each + labor and I ended up spending 110 dollars and they fixed 9 bulbs, 4 of which were 5 dollars each and outrageous labor. They take advantage of young girls/women and act like we have no idea what theyre doing. DONT GO HERE.

My car was tended to pretty much right after I arrived. The mechanic was finishing a car when I got there without an exact appointment (I had just asked if Sat was OK). Everything was done as stated. And, even though Im sure there were Many things they could have pointed out as needing fixing, the mechanic didnt do that, bc I had already said I only had the money to fix these immediate things, and tires were next on my list. They did try to help me out by at least balancing them, even tho I had 2 new, and 2 old. Which realllyyy helped, it felt like I was driving on tires that were square. Lol! But, its def better now. And, my AC is running fantastically cold, too! The mechanic explained what the issues was w the exhaust too, and it was an easy, and cheaper fix. A few of other places I went to 1st had tried to sell me a brand new exhaust system, but I knew it wasnt that. This place fixed it for less than $30! Its hasnt been this quiet in months! I do feel, tho, the owner wasnt all that happy about this, which is why I deducted a star. I would not have had a new exhaust put in anyway, so $30 is better than none, if you look at it that way. And, ill def return to the mechanic on duty, as long as hes still there. Def recommend, but try to schedule w the mechanic (Mike), he will try to save you money where he can, and he will explain what the issues is, & why.. And, if youve ever need multiple car repairs, you know this type of mechanic is rare.

I made an appointment to get my car inspected! Due to a peice of mail saying my inspection sticker on my car was late! Due on 2/18! Then it’s says that u have 10 days to get it done or your license suspended! Anyway came here and they guy asked for my registration! He said it was on a white peice of paper! I didn’t have it in my car! Went home to look for it, could not find it! Went to AAA like the guy told me to do. Paid $18.00 for a new one, it’s now 4:30 pm . Go back to Safeway in Cranston and he says he can’t DO THE INSPECTION! I don’t have the stickers!! Well they must have been in registration on plain white cheap paper! I would have gone to the DMV if he told me I needed it to inspect my car!! He said he told me! I told him absolutely you DID NOT TELL ME THIS! I would NOT GIVE THIS PLACE ONE STAR THEY GET NONE!
