I have to give this place a “middle of the road”rating. The atmosphere is quite adorable but for what you get, the food was overpriced. The tea and coffee came in a large mug which was nice but if we were getting it to go, I can’t say the sizing would’ve been comparable. The breakfast food was pretty bland as well. I would relate it to a neighborhood diner quality. Nothing special. We got a black coffee, a green tea, and two breakfast options. We paid $28. I had to get up and ask for utensils and napkins. If you are looking for an outstanding bakery and breakfast place, this isn’t it. A cute atmosphere tho!

We came here for coffee and snacks when Cedar was way over crowded. We asked some questions about the menu and the staff was extremely confused and had no idea what things were. I ordered a macchiato, which was shown as a Traditional Macchiato on the menu. It was far from traditional, rather it was 16oz of milk topped with espresso. Basically a latte not stirred up. Not espresso with some frothed milk as a macchiato should be. They only serve iced drinks in a 20oz cup so my husbands latte was WAAAY too milky. Didnt taste like coffee at all. We ordered breakfast tacos and a breakfast burrito both with no meat. The burrito came out with meat on it. They remade the burrito and it wasnt bad, but it didnt make up for experience of someone who doesnt eat meat biting into turkey lunch meat. Gross.Ive been to a lot of coffee shops and I hate to be this negative, but this was by far my worst coffee shop experience.

On a quick holiday trip away from Toledo to deal with the pandemic blues, we stumbled upon this little gem. I wanted a great cup of coffee and breakfast and found both here. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of a huge omelette, a morning burrito with sausage goetta, a French crueller, a cinnamon roll, a latte, and a regular coffee. The owner, Tim, stopped by while we dined and he was a sincere pleasure to talk with. We’d most definitely come back! Amazing all around!

My girlfriend and I went over the weekend for a milkshake (they were out of ice cream) no big deal. We got 2 brownies and a piece of cheesecake. $14. The brownies were so hard that we couldnt even eat them, even after nuking them in the microwave. My cheesecake was also very hard and rubbery, not the soft smooth cheesecake I expected. I have been their prior and they had a really good peanut butter milkshake. But overall, the quality of the desserts were not up to standard at all.

I came here with my husband, my friend and her husband last weekend. The place was really cute and quaint however the coffee was seriously lacking. 2 of us got the Highlander and one of us got the nutty Irishman. All three of us thought the drink tasted very watered down and taste it like there was no coffee / espresso in it at all. I might come back if Im in the area to try it one more time but we were not impressed at all with the coffee.

Came in this morning with a couple friends. One friend ordered the breakfast special which says it’s a waffle with fruit, but they don’t have fruit and don’t give you any sort of warning - she asked about it after she got her food and they said “fruit isn’t in season”. So, maybe update the menu then, or at least give fair warning? She also ordered sausage and they gave her bacon. Her boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage and was given goetta. My boyfriend and I got our food 20 minutes after our friends even though we ordered right after them in line, and they forgot to get us our cream puff when they finally did bring our food. I ordered the BLT which is supposed to come with a pickle and chips but I was only given the sandwich. Overall, I guess the food is fine if you’re actually given what you order. Otherwise it’s a complete waste of money.

First impressions: quaint, cozy, friendly. Good coffee and pastries. Also dog friendly, they have a jar of treats by the front counter.Like a lot of spots on main, its built out of one of the old brick homes on the street, so you immediately walk into what feels like someones living room, which, I think, is a good thing. They refurbished what would have been the kitchen into, well, a service kitchen and counter lined with delicious looking sweets and pastries.I had this cherry cobbler-like pastry that was sweet and soft. Copious options for caffeine, I had an Ethiopian pour over, which was excellent.Cozy spots to sit and relax, either inside, out on the front porch, or outside by the sidewalk. Its front facade faces north so youre in shade when sitting outside, a definite plus.Did I mention how dog friendly the are? Bring your pawed pals for a free treat and some pets.

I liked everything about this place. We stayed in a Covington hotel for a Cincinnati Bengals game and spotted this place while exploring the area. Side note: the Main Street that it’s on has a bunch of cool looking restaurants, shops and bars. For starters, I loved the interior of Bean Haus bc it is definitely an old converted house. I was also surprised to see that they offered a limited selection of made to order breakfast entrees alongside the case of pastries. I can honestly say my French toast was some of the best I’ve had. Nothing fancy, just made right. Also my husband ordered pancakes and I have never seen such a hilariously large portion of pancakes. They were tasty and took up the whole plate and there were 3 of them! He ate a lot and barely made a dent. The thing I enjoyed most about Bean Haus was that many of the guests who came in seemed to know each other and the people working there by name. It had a great neighborhood-favorite vibe, and if we didn’t live 2 hours away, I could see myself becoming a regular on Sunday mornings.

*edit* To the owners response: maybe theres a misunderstanding... in my experience, a cafe breve is, at most, a 6oz beverage- I got 2oz of espresso and *18oz* of steamed half and half, not the typical 2-4oz of steamed half and half. Over 2 cups of half&half was undrinkable for me. I dont mean to cause trouble, perhaps thats just how its made here?-I went in a few days ago and ordered a Cafe Breve off of the specials menu. I first received a black coffee with flavoring, and had to remind the barista what a cafe breve was. The next drink I received was 1 shot of espresso with 18 whopping oz of steamed half and half. The barista was VERY nice about it, but I just told them to give me a black coffee instead (even though I was still charged $5.50 for it).

My one visit was last year during the holidays as a meet with a friend from that area and while giving our coffee orders I noticed a bourbon pecan pie that I had to have so I took it to a Christmas party that night and was absolutely delighted by it. It was unique in flavor which was so nice to not have the same old store bought pecan pie that I know exactly what it will taste like. I would definitely recommend the baked goods! Our service was great, too. Fast, friendly, and patient as myself and my friend seemed to take a while to decide what we wanted as we had never been there before.

EDITED to say: my bad for ordering something not on the menu I guess, and also my bad for not saying something until after I received my order. I still stand by my judgement that $5 is too much for two pieces of bread, even homemade bread, and the treatment I received was unacceptable. Read some other reviews and decide for yourself if there are a lot of rude customers or one rude owner! 😇 Also lol @ toast store youre a bakery who makes bread apparently so why not sell thick sliced golden brown toasted homemade bread with local butter and homemade jam for $6???Ordered an espresso and plain toast because I wanted something light, and not a baked good. Two pieces of plain, thin white bread toast costs $4.95 and came with butter. I had to ask for jelly. When I asked the manager why the toast seemed so overpriced, he replied, Im trying to sell a lot more than just toast to pay the bills. A raspberry crumble bar costs $3.95....a business tip for you: if youd like to make more money, charge more for things you actually make in-house instead of the $0.20 of toast I received. Didnt look me in the eye, apologize, offer anything, and was pretty rude. Espresso was bitter and overextracted. I will not be back.
