Horrible customer service! I was harassed and accused of stealing, just because I went back out to the car, to get my ID to buy cigarettes. I emptied out my pockets just to prove to the manager I didnt steal anything (even though I had only taken a few steps into the door before I realized I didnt have my ID) after emptying my my pockets, he went on to interrogate me, for just looking around.I was completely embarrassed, and humiliated! I will never go back to this store or any others!

Giving 2 stars because they had what I needed when I went to this store. I looked it up to see what people were saying about it because it’s so bad looking inside of this store. It’s absolutely unbelievable how dirty the floors are, shelves are practically empty, it smells bad and the cashier looked like he never takes a shower and I waited in line forever to buy 1 item. Not surprising because it’s in Covington. It was local to where I was so I went there. Not going back.

Good morning, there was products that they had that I would like to have purchase, but they said they could not sell it to me because it was discontinued. So to me make it make sense, it was discontinued theres really nothing wrong with him why couldnt you just sell them what you going to do send them back to the company. I do not believe that is whats happening. So I was a little disappointed with that ordeal because it was there it was only $5 and they could not sell it for $5 they could have run it up as something else and still sold it to me and Ill I was looking for has been hard to find. Dollar General was the only one that had it

Although staff is professional and very nice, store is usually out of most items and never stocked well.

Its your usual dollar store. Did seem to be a lil cleaner and more organized than most.

This place is way out of my way, but I go every year the day after Christmas to get wrapping paper for the next year. Its very organized for being the day after Christmas.

Shelfs are never stocked. Staff is extremely rude and the lines are crazy, at least a ten minute wait to get to the register at any given time. Facts

Terrible store..... 85% of the aisles have little to no inventory... zero customer service and dirty. The worst Dollar General that I have ever been inside of.

I Love the Clearance aisle; thats my favorite spot in every store! However, I wish some of their prices were a little bit cheaper. I know that the Dollar General already have low prices, so I understand that they probably cannot go any lower so thats something that I can deal with... Sometimes the Store is disorganized and hard-to-find to find things! However I would say about 70% of the time you can find a Store Associate that can help you find just about anything and everything that you are looking for with great detail and information and very friendly, but the other 30% of Workers are usually very short, sometimes rude, have a very bad attitude and do not want to help! They come across like they do not even want to be working there!!! *N*E*WAYS* I LOVE how they do their seasonal stuff somewhat early so you can get a kick-start and I absolutely love their spring / summer items but, you have to get your summer items especially pool items before they are gone! Fans, pools, beach towels, things of that nature, get it before its gone! And in the winter months especially sleds you have to get them as soon as they come out! Get them before they are gone because they go fast ... all-in-all I give the store a 4 out of 5 stars and for Customer Service, it depends on the day but I would say probably two to five stars it all depends on who is working there the people that actually love their job and want to be there are the ones that have and get 5 stars each and every time!!! Dollar General has great prices and I love to Bargain shop there but theres usually a line wrapped around the store. A quick shopping trip could take longer due to lack of cashiers at hand. I will say theres this one lady of African American descent that does quite good at getting the line down fast when no one else will help her.

Theres always a line in this place.. If the line moved a little faster it would get a four or five star rating but theres normally only one cashier answer for employees running around back Wile Ones outside smoking lol

Every isle had a completely bare shelf for the last 7 days in a row with skids of things needing to be stocked, blocking the ends of random isles. Most of the employees are great but they are always short staffed.

The floors are dirty and falling apart, huge chunks of tile are missing and one part of the floor feels noticibly weak like it coukd fall through. Everyone who enters is treated like they going rob the place so you must leave bookbags at the front (and when i got mine back it was opened so seems cashier was nosey) and it is cramped since a good part of the store is used as a backroom for product backstock and storage.

No products for everywhere was empty shelves, this was a dirty store, staff were drones who were just present and nothing else. I love dollar general but would rather go out of my way to shop the better store in newport.

This Dollar General is always dirty with filfthy floors bad management and even worse customer service! If you go here theres little to no enforcement of masks or social distancing,be prepared for long lines too

Large selection of well priced items ran by a manager who cares about his store and his staff cause it shows... Your in and out without any problems or much time spent! Highly recommended anytime of time

A little messy but friendly cashier

Depends on the location!! Some are Ify , but are pleasent place to shop. My favorite ones are the stores located in Silver Grove KY, and Covington KY!! One in Covington has better selection, variety. Plus bonus is how respectful the employee s are. Definitely my Fav. Silver Grove has less selection but friendlier staff, better set up... 😊

This place is right across the street from the methadone clinic. There use to be people outside asking for change but I think they made them stop.The customers can be very entertaining. The workers are always cool.They only have 2 registers. So you may have to wait a few, but nothing too bad.The store can be picked over at times, but that’s not the workers fault.

Great dollar selection. Well stocked and very friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be going back

This is my neighborhood DG, it’s gone way down hall over this year. It always smells of sewage, its never stocked or staffed, the floors feel like they’re going to collapse as you walk down the aisles. It’s just not a good experience.

Love the new store since changing from family dollar. Always a good variety and I love the digital coupons. The only problem is lack of cashiers. There is always a long line.

I give this store a one star because that is the lowest on this App. I went to store to look into item that I had left at the register to get a replacement. To make a long story short, the item in question was $1.64 but before establishing if the replacement was warranted, they had to check cameras. based on that they say I left the store with it although I distinctly remember going back purchasing other items for $30 and leaving my original purchase. Not only did they deny my request but in front of about 12 other customers they accuse me of trying “this” all the time and to not do it again. It was embarrassing it was demoralizing and I felt watched as soon as I walked my Afro American face to the store . I don’t mean to play the race card but sometimes you just get that vibe. To top it off I dropped my change and I was picking up the silver when the same manager ED S, asked me what I was doing. Not in any type of helpful or respectful way. I looked at him from the position of being on my knees with change in one hand and the other in the process of picking up change like, what does it look like I’m doing. I just dropped about two dollars and change and I’m picking it up. He told me to get my change and leave. If he had concerns about theft he could’ve just warned the employees, Instead he took the low road and embarrassed a paying customer for no reason, other than I mite have tried to scam out of $1.64!!!! Never stopping to think of the ramifications if he was wrong....which he most certainly was!!! BAD HANDLING THERE ED SMITH!! Now with your name up in lights how does it feel to be called out in front of bystanders!!!

Bad neighborhood. Trash was all over the front of the building. The lady that checked .e out was nice, but the other one was rude. Im not going back there thats for sure.

Shelves are messy and disorganized. Always looks like a riot has looted the place, which is probably accurate considering it is Covington. Cant really blame the employees for not seeming to care, they deal with Covington all day. But if you plan on shopping here, dont expect to find exactly what you want. You are going to settle for whatever they got and be happy with it, or dont go. And if you dont like it... Dont bother the manager. They care less about your expired coupons than their underpaid employees. Just expect to settle for whatever you find.

Its a nice clean store and the stock, put up and in order. Easy to find things. The employees were helpful as well.

The parking lot is a disaster. It doesnt help when customers dont know how to park or where. Handicap is for the handicap and any crossed lines are no parking at all, but that gets ignored there.

The store is not very clean. They are not very friendly. Everytime I get home from this store, I have at least one item with a security tag still on.. Because they put security tags on EVERYTHING! I understand its not a great location and they need the extra security. But, its a little extreme. I bought a shower liner, but they didnt have the rings to hang it. Overall, not a bad experience.. Just average.

Conveniently located great prices and extra friendly staff, travel across the country been to many Dollar Generals, this ranks with my top five. Keep up the good work.

Ever time ii go too this one 5th in newport ky there is issues this last one was I was going to return something and it was 6 or a little after and they told me that they cant be take returns because her register shut down for that at 5 do I believe that I have no idea but like I said every time I go there its something you know there is carts in the aisles with product you cant get through it has been better that way but theres always an issue with returns or there are there management or help its mainly that help Im sorry but I mean the lady was nice this time but you see I get a oh well whatever thank you

Easy to get too cheap

Always a long line because theres only one register open. Theres always 3 people on the store, but only one register open. Avoid this one if youre in a hurry.
