I moved here about 2 years ago. Twice I have taken my car here. One time the work was hundreds less than other places and the second they told me that there was no problem with my brakes. They could’ve totally replaced something that didn’t need to be replaced and charged me but they didn’t. Very honest and I won’t go anywhere else

These guys have been helping me for 10 + years. Two weeks ago my radiator decided after 272,000 miles to empty itself. Had it towed late afternoon and Bobby and Gordon had it going by Noon the next day. I am hoping for at least 300K by always using Brazos Valley Automotive.

Ive been using Brazos Valley Automotive for about a year. They have always been fast, polite, & well priced. A few weeks ago I brought my car in for transmission issues. They told me it needed to be replaced. Rather than just take my money on fixing an older car with over 200,000 miles on it, Gordon recommended I put the money into a new one, which I did. Once they discovered the problem, they called me and explained how they would fix it and included the price. It was fixed quickly and for a great price. I will be back!

I couldnt say enough positive things about these guys. Best place in town. Dont expect them to blow sunshine up your butt when you walk in. Theyre straight forward and polite. They dont try to sell you on high quality service to your face, only to overcharge you later . Multiple times theyve looked at my car, even fixed some small stuff, and just handed me my keys afterwards FREE of charge. Ive had a multitude of pleasant experiences here, and highly recommend to anyone in need of a skilled, honest mechanic.

There is not a choice for just plain poor, so that is why it says poor-fair. When picking up our van for a repair to the air conditioner, we lifted the hood to see the work that was done and heard an a/c line leaking. It turns out that valve caps were completely left off of the line after they charged the system with Freon, and the valve was leaking. There was also oil spread all over the front of the van under the hood. We were told that it would be another 20-30 minutes for them to work on it some more. We spoke to the man behind the counter about the possibility of compensation to the bill of $286, for the fact that the work was not completed and the extra wait that ensued. He told us there would be no compensation, because they were going to fix it. Feeling that it should have been fixed the first time and that our time was worth something, an argument took place regarding compensation. He asked, “How much are you begging for?” I replied, “How much are you willing to take off?” He said, “None.” I proceeded to say that I would be posting reviews of this incident, and he said, “I asked you how much you are begging for?” I told him, “$25.” He did give us $25 back, but as far as I am concerned it was not worth the way that he treated us and his rudeness. I told him that an offer of $10 initially would have been worth a lot more than the $25. The end result was that after a 40 minute wait, they returned the vehicle to us with a different valve leaking, that we had to repair ourselves. Needless to say, we will definitely not patronize this business again, nor would we recommend it!

These guys pretty much know me by name now as my 95 corvette has ended up there quote a bit on its journey to restoration. I work on this car quite a bit on my own, I just dont have equipment here in college station to do most of the work (Im a college student here). Most shops inflate the price of a part by 2-300%, but this hasnt been my experience here. Their quotes are regularly 30-40% lower than competitors in town.

Was referred here by a different shop that told me they wouldnt be able to work on my car for 3 days. Brazos Valley Automotive offered service that was short, sweet, and to the point. They diagnosed and fixed my car in less than 2 hours. No gimmicks, no cons. Im always worried businesses will try to scam me into spending more money because Im young and female, but these guys were super honest and helpful. They gave me an itemized receipt and explained all the costs, which were very reasonable. I will definitely be returning any time I need engine work done.

Reasonably priced, efficient work. We had our vehicle back within 36 hours.

I took my car into Brazos Valley early afternoon because my car had been making a weird noise in the back passenger-side tire area and the steering wheel began shaking when I would drive the car. At first Brazos Valley thought it was the wheel bearing but said they would call when they knew more. I get a call about 3 hours later asking if I had my tires rotated recently, which I had about 2 weeks earlier (at Midas). Brazos Valley said that Midas did not screw my lug nuts on properly and 2 of them had actually fallen completely off the car (how scary is that). The others they were able to unscrew with their hands because they were so loose. That ended up being the whole problem, and it was a cheap fix. I don’t know much about cars so he could have told me anything and I probably would have believed him, so I’m so glad that this is an honest car shop. I will definitely be back again.

BVA is my go-to solution. In todays world of hype and cons, many if not most businesses, use shady tactics to extract ~ the most money possible ~ for shabby and faux work. BVA in a stark contrast, are straight shooters. They have provided great work at reasonable prices. I like the ~ trust factor ~ business model, that they provide. They get the job done. Works for me.

Gordon and his associate (Bobby, Im pretty sure) took great care of me. I needed new shocks and a window motor repair to my 12-year old truck. Their pricing was competitive and the work was completed as scheduled. I read some of the negative reviews and wonder what happened to make others experiences so off putting. The two fellows I mention above seem nothing short of professional, honest and customer service oriented. YMMV but Ill be going back to them next time I need work done. -----Bill----

Been using BV Automotive for about 2 years now, and today they, again, made me aware of why I return. Did about 1.5 hrs of diagnostic work and gave me a recommendation that the $800 to repair the car may not be the wisest choice for the make and model. Decided to accept their recommebdation to replace the car and picked up my vehicle with no charge. See you next time Bobby & Gordon.

I had another shop tell me my oil pan gasket was leaking and it was going to be over $600 to replace it. I called around and BVA was around $400 to replace it so I brought it there. The first shops diagnosis was wrong and it was actually the oil filter adapter seal that was leaking so it was actually even cheaper to fix. BVA correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a few hours and saved me a few hundred dollars.

Amazing and speedy service. I had a leak in a pipe leading from my radiator, and came in without an appointment and had my truck repaired only hours after Id dropped it by.

I am very upset by the way i was treated today. I had my car worked on and i came back because i was still having the same problems. Almost $1,000 dollars was spent to fix my car and when i came back i was sitting in the lobby for 4 hrs. Gordon at the front desk comes back and tells me that the car disnt act up on his workers so they were basically telling me that they werent gonna fix it because they didnt see it act up. All they did was cut the engine light off which was the problem with me car. I told him that i was upset because there was a lot of money spent to fix it and i drive the car everyday and it jas the same problems. He then told me that I didnt pay for anything because i had a friend pay for it. He was trying to be smart by telling me that i didnt spend any money on my own car so i shouldnt be saying anything about how much money was spent. It shouldnt make a difference who spent the money on the car because i am the customer. My car is being brought to the shop regardless. I felt that it was very unprofessional that he had to feel the need to bring up who personally paid for my car. He told me to never come back! Believe me i wont! I didnt get what i paid for! Exscuse me...i mean what my friend paid for( thats what Gordon said). I sat there for 4 hours just to get disrespected! I wish i would have recorded it. I just couldnt believe it. I wouldnt give 1 star if i had the option
