Lack of customer service skills.

This location use to be good 2 years ago. I do t know what happened but it quality of service is not that same. I came in today there is the ruddiest employee I have every meet.The place is kept neat and clean. That was the only good thing.

I am updating my review made about 2 years ago during an ownership change. For people who might be confused, the location is inside the Student Union (stamp) building. On the first level around the corner from the food court. Updated review: they have improved very well, I am hearing that package update emails are being sent out for people who own boxes at the center, the store is more efficient, and before I left Maryland, I remember things were basically back to normal. I think the new ownership just needed some extra time to properly transition. But back during the transition period 1 to 2 years ago, I was quite frustrated because it had been months and i owned a box, so i was in there very often, and there had definitely been problems, including not sending notifications regarding package deliveries to box holders. Management did leave a reply to me here that they had improved things since my original review, and I am happy to say it really has. I have increased from 2 stars to 4 stars. Unfortunately ever since this location has been bought by a new owner, package updates and many helpful features have disappeared and its been months. Ive been into this UPS store a number of times while getting ready for my study abroad, mailing packages and letters to family and friends, for other day-to-day reasons. Almost every time I come in I feel unsure of just how each mailing process works and am nervous that I wont be able to communicate what I need to be done. However, every time Ive been in this year Ive been greeted by Patricias warm and welcoming smile and she has been AMAZING in helping me to get in and out of the UPS store, feeling confident that any important documents or letters will reach their destination without hassle. Last week I came in to get a cash order and was short the three dollars needed to pay the processing fee. Patricia, without skipping a beat, offered to pay it for me and have me venmo her to avoid having to go back to the ATM. I was so impressed with her kindness and amazing customer service, by her going that extra step to make my life just a little easier I felt so much better about the entire process and left feeling cared about and heard on a human level.

Very slow service, staff act like theyre bored and hate their jobs, plus the prices are astronomically high. Theyre really picky about the boxes you use to send contents, something Ive never experienced at other locations. I have also never been explicitly asked about the contents of my package until visiting this place. They asked 3 people, including me. I understand getting asked if the contents include items they cannot ship (e.g., alcohol, animal content, e-cigarettes), but to be explicitly asked Whats in the package? seems like a breach of privacy to me. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Id rather go out of my way and go off campus to send my packages using a different service. I will not be returning.The only positive I found was that the staff did in fact seem knowledgeable and explained everything clearly to me. They offered me other price options when I was unhappy with the cost, but the better options were still high compared to other places Ive been to send the same exact package.

I had to ship my boss passport to an embassy in NYC. The store clerk helped me select the appropriate service to guarantee its timely delivery. It got there even faster than I expected. Very satisfied with the help I received.

Patricia was amazing to me and my mother when I was shipping all my belongings home. She was so patient and kind and helped us to repack our boxes ( we did a terrible job at packing )lol. Everything arrived safely and intact .

Patricia at this UMD college park location went over and BEYOND the call of duty for my son today. He was visiting campus and left his watch at the Quality Inn. The Hotel was not interested in helping us retrieve it - he had already boarded his flight back to Seattle.... But Patricia offered to have the watch picked up and shipped back to us!! She ended up getting it herself - after hours and shipping it!! What amazing customer service!! GO SAY HI TO PATRICIA - SHE IS AWESOME!!!!

Lady threw my packages around right in front of my face. She slammed one of my fragile packages on the table for apparently no reason. Super unprofessional

Kelly was very unfriendly and had terrible customer service. Ive been a regular customer for over 3 years and because of an employee with a bad attitude Id rather choose to never come back and use FedEx for all my shipping needs.

The driver who delivers for Toledo plaza hyattsville md area drop my packages off at the wrong address it got sign for by some stranger now they cannot recover none of packages and they are so careless

This business does not have a notary beyond 12p on a Friday and store hours are until 7p.
