Came around 130 on a Wednesday so it wasn’t crowded. Daughter liked her turkey burger with nothing on it. My yogurt was good, it was a pretty big portion and it comes with a muffin. My husband had the French toast. He was disappointed it had yogurt in it and scrapped it off. They should probably let people know what is put on top. He was just expecting berries and syrup. Potatoes and fries were ok. Nothing special.

This place is ok, but needs to focus on quality and cleanliness. The wait staff is nice, but the kitchen could be better. The food was average. The salty smokey bacon was the best part of the meal. The scrambled eggs were a little wet but the worst is we were served a burnt pancake. It was black on one side. The waitress was nice and helpful, but we probably wont be eating here again.Side note: one of the ppl plating food was wearing his mask like a chin diaper, no gloves, wiped his nose with his hand, and proceeded to handle food.

A slick, modern brunch locale with a wide range of menu options, Yolk deserves its reputation as a hot spot for downtown Chicagoans seeking brunch and breakfast eats.Though a little too shiny and polished to be described as cozy, the interior is nevertheless bright and inviting and the menu contains more than enough options for any morning meal pallette. Absolutely worth visiting if youre in downtown Chicago.

New app/QR-code waitlist available to make getting a table a little easier. Wait staff are really friendly and happy to accommodate special requests.Menu is varied with plenty of egg and non-egg breakfast options as well as sandwiches/burgers for lunch.Even with a 30 minute wait to get a table, the litchen was really efficient when we were there, turning out the order in about 10 minutes. Outdoor seating appears to be limited to parties with service animals at this time

We were excited to try Yolk today but found it underwhelming. The corned beef hash & eggs had almost no corned beef in it, and even less seasoning. The dish was bland to say the least. The chicken and waffles had a burnt egg and again the bacon waffles were bland. Add on top the brutally slow service and 3 stars is probably generous. The only saving grace was the delightful outdoor patio.

Went here for brunch on a Saturday, had to wake up early to join the virtual waitlist on Yelp since they do not take reservations. Yelp’s waitlist quoted one time (1.5 hrs in the future) then told me that my table was ready 20 mins before the time frame and gave us 5 mins to get to the restaurant. We got there 2 mins late and had to wait for the next available table.Outside of that the speciality coffee was really good (got the cold brew horchata) and later I found out the restaurant is byob (next time will definitely try that!). The food was alright. Good serving sizes but a bit bland. I ordered the chicken and waffles with the cheesy grits. The grits were light on cheese and under seasoned (added more salt and hot sauce to improve taste). The chicken and waffles were solid but light with gravy (just enough to keep the egg from sliding off the chicken). The chicken was cooked well but bland. The bacon mini-waffles were solid.Overall it was a decent breakfast, great service, but for the wait times, I expected a bit better food.

Yolk is always a great option for breakfast or lunch meals. I’ve been to several of their restaurants over the years and they have always been consistently well tasting and priced. This time I had the south of the border Benedict. It had chorizo, English muffin, chipotle sauce, cilantro, and I had a fried egg instead of poached. The flavor is amazing. The smokiness of the chorizo paired with the chipotle sauce was amazing.I also got a single order of French toast because I like to have something a little sweeter after eating something that’s super savory.I ordered sour cream for my benedict, and had to send it back because it was warm, like borderline hot. When the second one came, it was hot as well. By the time I got the third one, I was already done with my meal and no longer needed it. The third one did come out cold because it was in the to go order fridge. That was the only downside to my experience.Otherwise, definitely recommend!Oh and make sure you put yourself on the waitlist via the Yelp app! Our hotel was walking distance so we put our names on the list while getting ready and got there with perfect timing and we were seated immediately.

For how hyped up this place is, I was honestly expecting more! Don’t get me wrong—our server was awesome, and the staff are friendly, kind, and helpful—but I was disappointed with my meal and the overall restaurant itself. I’ll start with the cons, and end on a positive note with the pros!CONS:—table & chairs close to condiment & coffee station for severs, felt in the way of kitchen staff and waiters—my West Coast Crèpes were very bland. The serving was large, which was nice to take home, but even the seasoned potatoes it came with were hardly seasoned ☹️ I don’t know if other dishes were better, but my meal was nothing special.—overall decor was uninspiring and average—bathrooms were dark and felt dingyPROS:—service was kind and friendly—Covid protocols were being followed—cinnamon roll French toast looked awesome—prices not too bad for downtown—portions were large—location was convenientOverall, the experience was good, but not great. I’m giving it three stars because I had been expecting a lot more, and it was overall a pretty average meal and brunch experience. Other Yolk locations may be better, and I’d be willing to try it again, but would not get the crepes again!

Yolk is a fun and tasty spot for breakfast. Cute interior, great for people watching, and surprisingly fast and delicious for how packed they always seem to be. The food is tasty, although maybe not quite excellent. My eggs were a little overcooked and my potatoes were a little undercooked, but both were edible and had a good flavor. The real star was the pancakes. I added chocolate chips and pecans to mine (extra charge; Yolk is kind of pricy), and they were heavenly. The waiters are efficient, quick, and friendly. This is the worst breakfast I had in a long time. The service was good but the food was so bad that I could not eat more that 4 bites.Ordered the egg Benedict. Now I know you take a risk ordering Benedict because restaurants don’t know how to really make hollandaise. But this was the worst I have ever eaten. Tasteless slop with eggs poorly cooked. No salt and no flavor of any kind. The English muffin bread was chewy and dry and absolutely horrible. Will never go here again. The wait staff here was great, but the food and management was absolutely awful. I literally got spoiled hollandaise sauce. This was confirmed by the waitress who apologized on behalf of her and the chef who said the person that maid it, made it wrong causing it to spoil. I told her no worries even though this ruined my appetite but I wasnt her fault. Later, the manager lied and said that didnt happen. The food is tasteless and bland and way over priced. Also they dont tell you you get charged extra for the potatoes on some meals while they are included on others. We love Yolk but won’t be coming back to this location. We waited 50 minutes for our food- the restaurant seemed to prioritize to go orders and it was a Sunday morning so we knew it was busy, but we watched tables empty around us during our wait for the food and felt neglected- we only ordered two entrees so didn’t understand why we had to wait so long. Ate out for breakfast almost every day in Chicago so of course we had to try the place with the name Yolk. There was also a flashy yellow tent like entrance outside the building which I though was a cool theme, but may have just been ironic coloring. Anyways this place was pretty cool. The atmosphere was pretty vibrant, there was a nice view within the restarting and lots of windows all over to allow for natural lighting. The food here was good, but nothing too special. The real selling point here was the cinnamon roll pancakes that were absolutely amazing. If you aren’t looking for sweets then there are other breakfast places around with very similar stuff, but if you want to follow your breakfast with a dessert then that’s a great option. Server was pretty cool, however when he saw the bill for 10% he seemed upset. For service that only visits the table a couple times and doesn’t go out of the way to help customers I thought this was very fair. May return if in town, but competition has a little lower prices so would be a toss in the air.

Service was fantastic, and for the price, the breakfast did the job and filled my hungry stomach. Eggs cooked well, toast a little dry and butter was frozen. Potatoes... Perfectly crunchy with a soft centre. Portion size was enormous and great value. Bottomless coffee was a winner, however there was only half and half little cream pots that you get in a hotel... seemed odd, but when in Rome... For $11, who cares!

Would not recommend Yolk at Streeterville in Chicago at all!!The lady at the front desk/cashier was very unpleasant. First of all, I have to say that I called to ask if the restaurant is pet-friendly (My dog is a service animal, by the way), the answer was: Absolutely you can come over, no problem at all, but when I arrived the lady told us that it is not a pet-friendly establishment and if my dog is an ESA or Service Animal I should be seated in a table on their patio (which is not a problem for me at all, but the way in which this lady told us that, made us feel terrible). Then their rules are that they only admit a party of 4 in their patio, what??? (We were 4 and a baby). I tried to explain to the lady that my dog is admitted everywhere around the country even outside of it, but she was very ignorant in the topic, as you can imagine. Then she said we could have breakfast outside but as I mentioned they only admit 4 people because that is the number of chairs they can admit per table, so what? One of us was supposed to wait outside until one of us finishes eating, so we can switch places and get in? Crazy! To finish with this ridiculousness, we were with a baby, (one-year-old baby in his stroller), she said he would count as an extra person, so for her, we were 5 people so we couldnt be seated outside. Incredible but true!In conclusion: if you go there with your family that is more than 4 people, then dont even think about that place because they wont let you in. If you have an ESA, animal service, or any pet, this place is definitely NOT PET-FRIENDLY (despite their website, reviews, and people on the phone tell you the opposite). It was a terrible experience, they dont know about pet policies around the world, they hire unpleasant people and they cant stand families larger than 4 people.
