As a photographer, Bread & Butter is one of my favorite local businesses! Everything is made in house, and they are always experimenting with new recipes! This is the perfect spot to pick up sandwiches on the go or a tasty baguette for dinner! I couldnt recommend them more!

THEE best bakery! Croissants are flaky, buttery and definitely worth the money. The almond croissant is perfection. My husband buys them for me like flowers. I am very happy to have this bakery in my neighborhood.

I am addicted to the bear claws! So good. My problem is that at $5 I feel I am paying a lot and then the staff always asks either do I want to tip the team or do I want to tip the baker. I tip regularly for restaurant and delivery but I don’t feel that putting a product in a bag warrants tipping. It feels awkward every time I go in. Sometimes I pass it by because I don’t want the embarrassment of saying no.

Moving back to Chattanooga from Cali. I could not find good sour dough bread. I found it today. This bread is very tasty sour dough. It’s not as sour as San Francisco (Boudin) but it’s good enough for my son. He loves it; so do I. It’s hard on outside; very soft on the inside. This will be where I come to get bread for the foreseeable future if sour dough is needed.This bread was way better then we expected to find in Chattanooga. It’s a little better then Boudin in some aspects; like the softness inside. It was fluffy feeling. In most cases; we are finding Chattanooga to be way better then California.

Had a bagel from this place (via Provisions, the coffee shop at the Edwin) that was just circular white bread. Had it been labelled as bagel-shaped bread, I wouldnt have an issue...but it wasnt. It was just light-fluffy white bread in a bagel shape labelled as a bagel. Nothing messes up my morning like expecting a chewy, tough bagel with cream cheese, and getting a mouthful of pleasant, fluffy bread. Bagels should be a task to eat. They should taste good, but theyre supposed to be tough - like the leathery hands of a hard working old man. A good bagel should almost make you want to stop eating it because its a borderline unpleasant experience. Not these bagels. These are bagels for people who werent allowed to play in the dirt when they were kids. Ill stay far away.Please dont let my opinion stop you from enjoying this place if you love it, though. And you should try it for yourself. Im just a cranky old man with grey hairs in his beard.NOTE: Previously I had some additional thoughts on muffin that was just white bread with frosting. Turns out that IS from a different place called The Bread Basket. Ill be staying away from that place too.To the owner: Ive uploaded a photo from your google reviews of a bagel. You know you sell them. I know you sell them. Anyone looking through your reviews knows you sell them.

We got the pizza kit, a baguette, a mini chocolate tart, and a crumble bar. Everything was delicious! Online ordering and curbside pick up were a breeze. We plan to pick up a pizza kit, among other treats, a couple times a month now because were hooked. Thank you!!

Love the baked goods and vegan chickpea sandwich. It was excellent. Only wish the had espresso, but coffee is available. Also they seem to sell fresh local produce

Small but welcoming bakery with high quality goods, baked items, cold items (pimento cheese, sauerkrauts) warm goods like quiche & pizza (including a creative take and make/bake pizza kit). Love the hot sauce featured, take a walk through and I guarantee you wont walk out empty handed

Came in for my usual loaf of the not quite white bread today but what I saw was so upsetting Im writing my first google review. Who I assume was the owner was pitching a fit and yelling at the employees over what I dont know. But those girls up at the counter have been nothing but kind and helpful to me and do not deserve that treatment. If thats how you treat good employees you will not last long. It was disturbing to see a boss act that way. I will not support that behavior and will be taking my business to niedlovs.

Cinnamon roll was excellent, which is why I give it 3 stars and not one or two. The chocolate croissant was over baked and had a burnt flavor. The service was very slow and the clerk seemed a little ditzy. Then after slow service she asked me to leave a tip for the baker! I’m like “yeah, no thanks”! TIPS is an acronym for “To Insure Prompt Service”! It certainly wasn’t prompt and when did we start tip bakers?

Incredibly dense bread. It was a bit hard to get through and enjoy. We got the cinnamon roll and cowboy pocket.

Great local bakery with daily offerings and specialities. I enjoy hiking and picnicking, so when I am in the area, I buy a bagette and some local cheese to enjoy. On Saturday, they bake a bacon bagette that is really good.

I went for the first time so I got a little bit of everything focaccia, brown butter strawberry tart, cookie sampler and a goat cheese Danish. Everything was amazing and I cant wait to try more of their plentiful selection.

This was my second visit here and I am impressed! They have an amazing selection of local kombucha that I’ve fallen in love with, the staff was informative and kind, the cheddar jalapeño bread is sooo good toasted with a bit of butter and the Garam masala cookies are perfect! We got a bear claw to try as well for the morning and I can’t wait. This is my new favorite local spot! Thanks guys.

The best Bread I tasted so far! As a german Im obsessed with a good bread and the quality they have is amazing!! I dont necessarily need something on top I just eat it like that, and if you ever tasted their croissants there is no way back to other ones!!

Those croissants! The serious covid-19 measures. The tiny chocolate caramel tarts. The chocolate cherry cookies. Service is quick and efficient - no making me feel bad for cutting out on idle chit-chat. LOVE IT.

Another long awaited establishment Red Bank deserves. Their bread & their pastries are amazing, I stop in almost every Saturday after dropping my recycling off in North Red Bank & I always grab a Bacon Baguette! I also recommend the garlic loaf 🤤

Best bread and pastry bakery in Chattanooga. Try their breakfast sandwich; it’s to die for. Also their flourless chocolate brownie is incredible. All their croissants are the the real deal. Cookies are meh...don’t bother with them. All the bread is fantastic and the only real artisan bread in Chattanooga.

I stopped in for a loaf of Not Quite White and some garlic herb butter to accompany our soup for dinner-it was perfect! My son doesnt normally like sourdough, but this had a milder sourdough flavor, which the worker assured me it would, so yay! They had many other yummy looking sweet & savory treats that we look forward to trying in the future.

We are new to the area and are trying to support local businesses. I was very impressed with my first visit! The foccacia was amazing and grabbed my attention by the wonderful smell as I walked in. Excellent quality and superb taste; Bread and Butter will definitely be a regular stop for us!

This is a wonderful bakery! So many delicious options here, from their bread loaves to their prepared foods, its all super yummy! I also really appreciate their online ordering system. I can order my food online and they bring my items to my car.

The breakfast sandwich is delicious, I got it without the meat. Their bread is always on point, and comes in tons of different flavors. I also got their salted chocolate chip cookie, it was huge and was kinda of doughy in the middle. Perfect with my morning coffee.

The food is good, but today is our last time. We have been shopping there for a long time and I go almost weekly to pick up scones and other things for my wife, which is a drive for us, but customer service is not great lately. Every Christmas I order challah bread and today when I went to pick it up at the time selected when I placed my order I was told to come back four hours later as if it was no big deal. Apparently there was some fine print about that bread being done later in the day, so why let me choose the 8:00 option? Anyway, I could just tell it was nothing to her but it is to us. There are other places we can go where our return business might be appreciated. I will also be sure to let our friends know that they have too much business to be bothered, which is the attitude I pick up lately.

Nice little gem of a place. The pecan sandies are really, really good. I was also impressed by the cinnamon rolls. They were moist and not overly sweet (which I appreciate).

I just finished eating my pain au chocolat and I have to write this review. I am French, and it is very hard to find a good pain au chocolat anywhere, this was not only a good one, but a perfect one! Light, flaky and exactly how it is supposed to be! I am so excited to live next to this great bakery, the bread we bought is also delicious as well as the cinnamon rolls. Support this business, they deserve it!

I used to love this place, but the previous two times I’ve been have been awful. The time before today, I waited over twenty minutes for a curbside order while car after car was served. I called to check on the order and they had “forgotten” about us. Today, I placed another curbside order. When I arrived, I called and was told it would be ten minutes. I waited twenty and called back. Then I was told they were out of the eggs and bacon for breakfast sandwiches. I really want to patronize local businesses, but customer service is severely lacking here these days.

The best breads in town! Love this bakery. Everything I have purchased from the quiche to the croissants have been delicious! Highly recommend.

Does anyone know if they make rainbow bread?

It requires multiple subpar experiences for me to leave a bad review, but that’s the case with Bread and Butter. The bakery offerings are good. However the attitude of the employees needs improvement. Every time I shop there, I feel as though I am inconveniencing them, especially the heavy-set lady with the false eyelashes. This has happened three times over the past 8 months. Don’t bother asking what your balance is on their reward system because you’ll get an eyeroll.

This owner must have me confused with someone else that was treated this way because it has been several weeks since I tried to enter the store to do business and when I did there was no one in the store so guess it has happened to more people than just me. I will never shop here again, staff is rude, was told to leave, I guess I didnt look like I met their standards for a customer. During this time of small businesses wanting support, I guess they dont need. If you are smart you will avoid and go on into Hixson or up on Signal Mountain and support those places instead.

This place was amazing. The best croissants we have ever eaten and a perfect Sourdough. We cannot wait to come back. WOW.

I love this bakery! I usually get the Gruyere & mustard scones (which are AMAZING). Today I got a coconut almond muffin & I am hooked! I have tried several of their items & these are my two faves. Oh & you need to try the croissants....YUM!

Went today had keish for lunch and some of the lightest fluffiest ham croissant, amenities on white wheat bread, so yummy . Best little shop a must drive to see, lovely

Awesome place

Look no further for the best cinnamon buns- smothered in lightly whipped cream cheese frosting, perfectly baked, perfectly soft, no raw bits. I have looked high and low for the perfect bun and can safely say Ill be back for (many) more!The not-quite-white loaf is a perfect bake, soft and airy, with a nice crust. I look forward to trying more of the baked goods, pastries, and fresh made sandwiches! Since moving to the area I have been looking for a go-to bakery and I do believe I have found it in Bread and Butter.

Bread and Butter is delicious! Once I walked in I was greeted with a smile and the lady behind the counter even took time to tell me about their daily specials. I ended up getting a baguette and the Cranberry Pecan loaf (that they can slice in store!). DELICIOUS!Also, the cinnamon rolls are delicious! They are soft and the topping is a great add on.Overall this place is amazing! Take your kids for yummy treats, go for your bread supply, pick up a doggy treat, whatever it may be it will be worth it!They have their own parking lot so dont worry about having to find a place to park.

Not quite white makes the best tomato sandwiches. The longer fermentation is good for folks with gluten sensitivity from what I understand. Neat little shop with great made goods. A regular for us. Highly recommended.

If every community had a bakery like this one, the world would be a better place. Something for everyone...especially those who like quality ingredients and creative, dedicated cooking. Great for vegetarian/vegans. Fantastic sourdough, breakfast sandwiches, focaccia, lentil salad, quinoa salad, scones, muffins, curry chickpea sandwiches, cookies, pie...and on and on. Would love to try the take and bake dinners...Im sure the lasagna and garlic bread is fabulous!

I first heard of this place through an acquaintance, and promptly forgot about it. I am kicking myself for that now. I am now in this place 2 or 3 times a week. Dont make the same mistake I did. I have found nothing but wonderfully delicious items, and so will you.

This is an outstanding bakery! Whenever we travel, Im always seeking out the local bakeries and this one delivers! The Latin pocket was.the.bomb! Black beans & rice, plantain, with a chimichurri sauce.The cinnamon rolls as well as the Cranberry Nut bread were delicious. Such a great variety to select from. We will seek this bakery out each time we visit Chattanooga.

We tried this place for the first time today. Stopped in to get a loaf of something and a few pastries. We picked out the garlic bread to take home and tried and cinnamon roll and flourless brownie. The pastries were amazing! They cut the garlic bread for us in the shop and we broke it out to have with dinner. There are garlic cloves baked in to the dough. It was delicious. Well be back!

Hands down the best bread in the Chattanooga area! A variety of delicious pastry options as well. Definitely worth a drive over to Red Bank. Keep up the strong work, Bread and Butter!

Good baked goods at a good price

5 stars for the amazing coffee alone, Bread & Butters bakery selection includes quiche, sticky buns, a variety of bread loaves made and sliced in-house, and other locally sourced bread and dairy products. I discover something new with each visit. Definitely worth a visit.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I have yet to try anything that wasnt good.Edit: Always out of everything now. Have gone from always having a good experience, to always being a negative experience. Maybe short staffed? Cant say for sure, but they seem to be using online ordering as a reason for this.Edit: Last time It was 9:30 on a Sunday and all the ham croissants were sold out for the day already. I know its hard to judge what will sell. If the food wasnt so good, it wouldnt even matter.

The breakfast pocket was excellent. The texture of the crust was surprising in a wonderful way with a touch of corn meal that add a slight crunch. The coffee was the best ever. I came away wowed.

Theyve got a great selection of fantastic condiments, cheeses, and other prepared foods and drinks each made by local artisans. Oh and the flourless brownies and sinfully satisfying! Bread and Butter is our favorite place to buy bread. We are regulars and no longer buy grocery store bread from the grocery bakery. Delicious and worth every carb and calorie!

First had their bread at Bleu Fox, actually. BF uses bread from here for their sandwiches. Impressed, I asked where they got their bread. Just stopped in today to check it out. Really impressive operation. Tons of breads, pastries, spreads, sandwiches, soups, and many other things made here. It is as I said really impressive. Sampled a scone and some focaccia. Very good, like their bread. Five stars!

Really great bakery with friendly staff and delicious bread and pastries. Their roasted garlic bread is amazing! I also enjoy that they have items from other local businesses like Mama Crunks Pies, Velo Coffee Roasters, and Hoff Sauce.

Bread and Butter is absolutely delicious. We are part time Chatt residents, and evertime we are in town, we make a mad dash to B&B. There is nothing we’ve tried that we aren’t crazy about.

These guys have some of the best bread and pastries in the Chattanooga Area. I was recently in for the fourth or fifth time and the staff was extremely kind and helpful when I asked for suggestions.If you enjoy the smell of fresh baked bread and food made with great attention to detail then this is a must. I recommend the breakfast pockets. The pie dough is to die for and they fill it with some damn good bacon, eggs and potatoes. Im usually on the go so they always have some ready.Im a guy that can burn water so I really apreciate the vibe of grammas kitchen. I like being able to get warm and fresh comfort food that helps start my day off with a little taste of home.

Never tasted a croissant than good!!

Very Unfriendly to seniors,I have eaten at Bread and Butter on Dayton Blvd. several times with my daughter and granddaughter; (they did the ordering at the counter). While a little pricy, the fresh baked items were good to very good and they liked the place.I tried to order some baguettes on my own today, May 18, 2018, the counter girl was clearly hostile. It was 9:20 and I asked if they had baguettes, she said “no, they are not ready”. I asked when they would be ready, with a sigh she left and came back and told me 20 minutes. I considered waiting, ordering my morning coffee and a sandwich but left instead, going down the street to the McDonalds which was much more welcoming. I returned in a half hour and bought the two baguettes my wife wanted. Same hostile treatment, she practically threw them at me. I clearly felt unwelcome at Bread and Butter, (It was not what she said but how she said it, a crisp bark, the expression on her faces and body language). I am a 68 year old, clean shaven, no tattoos white man. I cannot explain it, the same counter girl was nice to the young woman in front of me. I assume they just want to cultivate a young yippee crowd and are afraid of seniors hanging around. Anyway, Me and my large extended family will drive a little further and avoid Bread and Butter.

The dessert and breakfast snacks were delicious especially the cinnamon rolls!
