Affordable and so delicious! Their pastries are all vegan and they had amazing drink options. So happy I chose this place to grab my cup of coffee before a long drive home! Can’t wait to come back sometime!

Love trying new coffee shops while Im visiting towns and this one DID NOT disappoint! Other than the coffee being great + delicious, the aesthetic of the shop is amazing!! Every detail is perfection! If Im ever in Chattanooga again, I know where Im going!

Two stars for the cuteness of the place, but thats where it ended for me. Coffee was bitter. Really bitter. No choice of sweetener other than stevia and sugar in the raw. Neither of which I enjoy. Only Vegan pastry, sorry but yuk. And the person serving gave off a very snooty vibe. So... yea, well pass on this spot. There are many great coffee spots in Chattanooga, this just wasnt one of them for us.

Clean, bright, and tucked cozily into the James Building, Sleepyhead is a very nice place to either grab and go, or sit down in their adjacent seating area and enjoy your coffee. Gluten free and vegan menu also a big bonus.

Great tasting drinks and unique and fresh pastries. Decor and elements are carefully crafted to create a beautiful, rich experience in the historic James building. Perfect for a midday coffee break.

Was in town for the weekend & visited 4 times in two days. Got to meet the owner & co-owner!Cutest little shop & sitting area (across the hall from where the coffee is made) & the coffee was superb! Overall, we tried the honey lavender latte, coconut mocha, and their drip.Day two, the owner remembered seeing me from the first couple of visits and waved to me from across the hall—made me feel special and appreciated as a customer!

Got an iced coffee with whole milk this past weekend. Some the best coffee Ive ever had. The flavor kinda hangs with you for a while. Delicious. Im also a big fan of avocado seed straws now. Highly recommend!

The coffee is amazing and the atmosphere is so relaxing. This is probably one of the best coffee shops I’ve visited. I ordered the coconut mocha, iced. My brother ordered a dirty chai- one of the best I’ve ever tasted.

Way too cute decor! They have two areas, one where you order and the other where you can just relax. The aesthetic is simply beautiful and the service from the barista who is also from Ohio was personable and professional! A+

The first thing you want from a coffee shop is good coffee, and they delivered. Next, atmosphere, check! Friendly staff and a business model that mirrors my own ethics made this an outstanding must visit. Plus, they gave me great restaurant suggestion that did not disappoint. They only problem is they arent open on Sundays and I had to drink subpar coffee from somewhere else.

Best coffee in Chattanooga! The staff is so nice and friendly. I go in several times a week, have a nice little convo with them and grab my coffee. Their lattes ACTUALLY TASTE LIKE COFFEE, not just sweet milk. 10/10 recommend.

Quaintness prevails in this immaculately clean and creatively decorated coffee shop. Very reasonable prices especially for a central location. Staff were very friendly. Offers a separate indoors seating area with tables and chairs, and a sofa, with two outside patio sets.

I cant believe I am just now leaving a review since I am completely obsessed with Sleepyhead Coffee! You cant get a better chai anywhere else in town! The staff are amazing and they opened up a second location thats just as cute as their original!

Found Sleepyhead while on an overnight stay in Chattanooga. Stopped in for coffee and ended up having a delicious iced Americano along with some oatmeal and one of the donuts. Its hard to find donuts that arent fried and the ones at Sleepyhead are amazing, not dry or heavy at all. Highly recommend!

SUCH a cute layout!!! My drink was okay; my sister’s was eh. Ultimately, it wasn’t a 3/4 because the barista was not nice & gave snobby vibes. The stars are for the appearance really lol.

Nice ambience coffee ane the service is very good, the only reason I dont give them 5 stars is because the short variety on food, they only have some muffins and bagels and not well display, the coffe itself is really good so if you dont eat to much at breakfast for sure you will be pleased.

Sleepyhead Coffee ROCKS! If youre in Chattanooga, definitely stop in. Great atmosphere, friendly/helpful staff, and delicious coffee. They really accommodate different taste preferences, all while keeping things quality as well as unique. I first visited back in January while I was in town, and really enjoyed my experience as well as an espresso soda with seasonal syrup flavor added. This past weekend, my boyfriend picked us up two coffees while we were passing through town, and I was so happy that they offered 16oz iced drinks! Most third-wave shops do not, so we were thrilled! They also have a great selection of retail bags to brew at home! We will definitely be back. Telling my friends, too!

First timer and was not disappointed! I’m not a huge coffee person, but I LOVED the coconut mocha w/ oatmilk (which the guy said was one of his favs and I can see why). The aesthetic of the coffee shop and customer service was great too!

The atmosphere is cute and the coffee is decent, but unfortunately the service is a bit unwelcoming - the last two times I’ve been there the barista has been pretty impatient even though it’s never been busy when I’ve been there, and she acts fairly condescending to other customers as well. Last time there was a customer trying to make small talk, and the barista was acting very irritated towards her. I don’t believe I’ll be back since the experience has been pretty awkward on both occasions.

Stopped in and tried two of the specials - the iced Caramel Apple Butter latte and the iced Maple Brown Sugar latte, both were great. Fast, friendly service.

This place was really good. The coffee was that I ordered was an Oatmilk Late. The cost, service and atmosphere was fine and nice. I would totally come back here again! I really liked that they had dairy free bread products too! I can would recommend this place to others.

Adorable little place with tons of plants and good coffee. I absolutely loved the ambiance of this coffee shop. The plants made me feel like I was in a forest instead of downtown Chattanooga.I ordered a caramel apple butter latte & wanted a pastry but they were out. I happened to arrive during a busy hour and the ladies running the counter seemed a bit stressed but the wait wasnt long and the service was okay.I grabbed a seat after receiving my coffee and enjoyed sitting in their hangout area. The flavors of the caramel apple butter coffee worked really well together ~ I look forward to coming back and trying another seasonal special at Sleepyhead Coffee.

I love specialty coffee shops and have worked in the industry for three years now. On a visit to Chattanooga I was excited to check out the local coffee scene and Sleepyhead Coffee. The reason I leave this review is because the service I received was borderline hostile.

I love this place so much that I almost cry whenever I think about it. It is such a wholesome place full of kind energy. In addition to the atmosphere, the coffee is top notch and the service is fabulous.

I have loved this coffee shop since the day they opened! Its ran by 2 of the nicest people. They offer great coffee, conversation, plants and smiles! Honey lavender iced latte is my favorite!

Halfway between Tivoli centre and the Reed House on Broad St Chatt. is a beautiful little coffee place. They have 2 bright rooms, one for serving coffee and great tempting homemade donuts and the other, a place to sip and study in the anterooms of the first and most beautiful skyscraper in Chattanooga, the 1907 James Building. Also outside sidewalk cafe tables for enjoying this gorgeous fall weather. Even some of their coffee is historic, coming from the Brandywine River Valley in Wilmington Delaware. They serve a medium roast that holds its robust flavor even as it cools off. Posted also is a full board of coffee drinks. Also friendly and knowledgeable folks behind the counter.

Excellent place with wonderful staff! Lots of lovely plants everywhere and located in a beautiful old building. Definitely give them a try! I gave them 3 stars because the space is adorable and picture perfect thats why this space was selected for a recent photoshoot. My photographer called ahead to make sure we can use the space and assure we wont bother anyone. By the way the photographer is a well-known local photographer who takes amazing photos for magazines. We arrived and assured them that we wont be in there way and the guy was ok with it but gave a little attitude. The staff overall were strange and a bit rude. They looked at us weird and made us feel very unwelcomed. Also it was my first time there so when I ordered I wanted something iced and I asked the lady and she replied rudely. I ordered the iced chai which tasted sour.

Me and my husband were on vacation and decided to drop in here to try their coffee..Would give this place a 10 star if I could. Ordered an almond milk latte and it was made to perfection! Creamy, bold, perfect amount of foam, and the temperature was exactly where it needed to be! Will definitely be coming back here on our next vacation!!!Thank you 🙏😊

Nice plant-populated vibe and atmosphere and owned by two great guys. However, the rosemary infused honey espresso tonic I got was espresso + pure la croix + ice. Thats quite frankly false marketing (and off-putting), and also, who uses la croix for an espresso tonic?? Please rename your drink, at least.

Great coffee in a beautiful historic building

I will not return to Sleepyhead. When I asked the barista for a decaf iced americano, she informed me that they do not have decaf espresso but she could make me a decaf pour over. I said “sure I’ll take it iced” but she rudely told me that it would be hot coffee over ice. Even starbucks baristas, with their minimal training, know how to make an iced pour over. I can forgive the fact that they don’t have decaf espresso. However, I cannot forgive the rudeness and obvious lack of training. Don’t waste your money on overpriced, poorly made coffee and horrible service.
