Great resource in a food desert (wrt groceries) but expensive relative to Kroger etc. It is a cross between Foods of All and 7 Day Jr. But has a pleasant buzz you wont find at either.I recommend highly for their selection and out of appreciation for their presence.

I really appreciate the cool products they stock. Ive discovered more than a few delicious things here that I cant find other places. Great deli when open, breakfast sandwiches, good employees, quick bites to go, a nice place to snack and read the paper. Love this place.

Nice local market with everything you need. The normal goods and fruit/vegetables are a bit expensive compared to a grocery store, but the sandwiches are yummy and a good price! Perfect place to go pick up a meal or a couple things if you live in the area.

I have been shopping here for years, the staff is always friendly and I prefer it to large supermarkets, they have a good selection and many things not available at larger stores. I also like to support local business.

Nice market in middle of downtown, fully stocked with all essentials. The last 2 times I have found lysol! Good selection of produce, frozen foods, nice beer and wine choices. Great prices and have loved the 4.99 sandwiches for years!

Quaint downtown city market with pretty much everything you need and even some interesting things you didnt know you needed. Thet have a great small store beer and wine selection and good produce and great cuts of meat. You really can get almost everything you need. Also, the baguettes are delicious!

Ever since they got rid of the sandwiches in the deli there is absolutely 0 reason to go here. Go to wegmans and get what you need not only the limited selection they have.

Fragrant is the first word that popped into my head when I walked into this store. I love the seating area in the front facing the window.I agree with others who have said the selection is amazing for the size of the store.I will add pictures once I have them. :)

One powerful, super customer-service city fine grocery. Excellent sandwiches made as you wait. Wines and fresh produce. An amazing variety of household goods for a small store. Fresh coffee always, and you have to try the mini-sliders! Curried chicken salad is a fave.

Sandwiches are cheap ($5), and really good. Salads are also good. My fav part is how you can order online and come pick it up when its ready so there isnt any waiting in line.

Has nearly everything you need from groceries, beer, wine, and sandwiches right in the heart of downtown. Great place to pick up last minute items if you work nearby and want to avoid the grocery store. Their deli makes some excellent sandwiches, so its a good place to get lunch.

Amazing deal on made to order sandwiches and salads for $3.99. I get one every week and theyre great! The salad greens arent always 100% fresh but the price, sides, and toppings always make up for it. I love the salmon salad as a side with my salad! The groceries are pricy and I would never stock my home kitchen from here but they have some great snacks and got your back in a pinch.

Food is decent. They have a decent selection. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, this shop is plagued with a bit of incompetence. Every time I buy produce it is somewhat rotted. And every time I order a sandwich whoever makes it gets it wrong. If I want to add an ingredient they leave another out. If I order for here it is wrapped up to go. I have been handed the wrong price slip. They have even used bread that I did not order. Bottom line: get your act together.

This has been my go-to market for over a year, & I love it. Lots of niche selections (Familia cereal, Spanish wines, interesting cheeses, kefir, excellent baguettes) & friendly, efficient service. Occasionally theres a little hitch (bulk salted, in-the-shell pumpkin seeds are neither), but all in all an essential downtown resource.

Market Street Market is a wonderful place. Reminds me of the old fashioned grocery store one finds in Brooklyn. The selection is varied; deli with Boars Head cold cuts, great fruit/vegetable counter with locally grown products when possible, meats, full range of cheeses, home-made bread, and everything else expected in a complete store. The workers are wonderful; always helpful, always considerate. We in the downtown area are so thankful to have Steve and the gang so close. Bon appétit!

Market Street Market has one of the best sandwich deli counters in Charlottesville plus a whole market of goodies! They also have a great cheese selection along with local cuts of meat (picnic or grill anyone?) Fresh produce, wines and cold beverages... Talenti gelato and a very large chocolate section! So many yummy choices!

One of my favorites places in CVille to get a freshly made custom sandwich. The grocery store is a hidden gem.
