I love getting my eyes checked here. Just prepare to be there for awhile. They tend to get you in and started quickly... But waiting for the doctor to finish up can sometimes take close to an hour. But they make sure you know what is going on with your health before you leave.

Starting off I was a patient at the St. Albans location, but needed to transfer to the Charleston office. Both places aren’t friendly to patients with medicaid. Yesterday I went to my scheduled appointment that was at 1:20. I brought my insurance card and everything and the front lady begins to tell me about how my insurance may not cover VSP. She tells me my visit may cost me $200 if they can’t get ahold of my insurance company. I’ve waited 5 months to be scheduled, so of coarse I said I was okay with paying it out of pocket if I needed too. As I’m in exam I’m stressing about the bill. The eye technician was so sweet as well as the Dr. the Dr told the lady that i need to be fitted for glasses. the lady takes me out in the glasses area and i wait and another lady tells me she’s not sure if my insurance covers it again. i said i have medicaid and i’m under 21 so the code reads that i should and could be fitted for glasses if the dr says that is necessary. she never even fitted me. i went an hour going through an exam just to not be took care of. i called the office later and spoke w a lady agreeing that i should have and could be fitted for glasses and who ever told me i could not was wrong. no one even called me back to reschedule me being fitted. If you have medicaid they will treat you differently. they didn’t even ask if i could pay out of pocket or what my options was

I have been a patient of WV Eye Consultants before they even had the name. They used to be on the first floor of St. Francis hospital and moved to a new location with ample free parking. They were recommended to me after having emergency eye surgery for a retinal detachment. I’ve had different doctors over the years at WV Eye Consultants, and I’ve consistently received the best care. The front office staff are efficient and friendly. I recommend them to family and friends.

Very professional and friendly staff. My initial assistant, I dont remember her name, was efficient, knowledgeable, and informative. My doctor was very proficient and informative. Got my frames through the VA and went back for the fittings with no problems and again great assistance.

The staff there were very nice and made you very comfortable. The Dr. there was very informative and explained things in detail. I was nervous before going because we weren’t just checking my eyesight this time and they were great to keep me calm.

This is now the second time we have tried to get good service. Both times it has been a disaster. All we wanted was to get annual check ups and glasses for my children. What ever you do in this modern day do not leave your table and look at the glasses. They will not allow such. Also if you do not want your eyes dilated that too is a huge no no. You have no freedom of choice. We will no longer ever try this consultant ever again. So disappointed in what did start out as a good office.

Dr. Potland is beyond amazing. I havent been able to see correctly in over 15 years. He knew exactly what was wrong with my eyes, diagnosed me properly and got things rolling. He took the time to ensure I was getting the right care. George is beyond amazing as well. He makes you feel so comfortable. I had such high anxiety when I went in and George made sure to ease my worries immediately. I highly recommend this practice. The only downfall is trying to schedule an appointment. It took me 2 months of calling just to get scheduled and a total of 3 months to be seen. But in all honesty it was well worth the wait!

WVEye is a great doctors office. The staff was amazing: friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, considerate, and very covid-aware. Dr. Sinclair is a great doctor who listened to my concerns, and explained several options for treatment.

Had a consultation that went well and picked out some nice Oakley glasses. I received them in a timely matter and would visit this office again. Keep up the good work.

I went in to have my lenses put in some new frames that I had just purchased, which I have had done several times. The lady who actually helped me was very nice, however in the middle of the conversation a lady by the name Debbie Kersey Interrupted us while we were talking, and was very rude, and disrespectful. I explain that I was going to call her manager, and she stated that she did not care, and that she would let her know. Debbie was with another customer, instead of helping the person she was with she felt she needed to come over to our table. While the lady helping me was explaining the new policy to me. I’m extremely disappointed, and I will take my business somewhere else from now on, and if you like to be treated with respect, and kindness I would suggest you go somewhere else as well. Or at least don’t let Debbie Kersey handle the account. Located at the Charleston location.

Dr. Sinclair is very generous with time to answer questions and a great eye doctor.

So the last time I was here it was not a good experience. I didnt rate the service or post any details about my trip then, but a year later my family went to have their eyes checked for new glasses. If I new this was the store they were going to my answer would have been GO ELSEWHERE! The glasses tech treated my family in one word WRONG. My family tried to get glasses they wanted but it was around lunch. So all they did was rush my kids around and show them merchandise that the workers thought we could afford. Just because we have a certain type of eye insurance does not mean my family cannot look at your merchandise. The worker was just rude and did not like being told no. My kids wanted a different type of glasses and we were willing to pay for them out of pocket. I gave a one star because it doesnt go any lower. Well I hope that the employees at WV Eye Consultants had a good lunch. Sorry my family bothered you with needing some new eye glasses. Your doctors just lost my entire family as customers, and we will be going to your competitors for our eye care needs. I suggest the same for anyone who reads this.

Worst customers service. You cant reach this place by phone. The eye exam was fine it is just trying to get some support after you purchase you glasses that is the problem. Just picked up my glasses a week ago. They need adjusted as they keep falling off. But I cant reach anyone to make an appointment. Plus you cant just walk in the place these days as we are in the middle of a covid crisis. I am not just saying this because I am upset with the place but the glasses are junk. Oh well I have learned my lesson and wanted to warn as may people what they are up against if you choose to shop here.

I love this place! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, very professional. Amber was my technician and she was wonderful! Such a personable lady! And I just love Dr. Stansbury. He is really nice and very friendly, but also a consummate professional.They make a chore like a yearly visit into such a pleasant experience! Thanks!!!

Amazing customer service. I can’t say anything negative, but I could go on and on about how everyone goes the extra mile. It’s amazing how hard they work for their patients. I’m treated like a VIP every time and would recommend for any vision services.

The offices were immaculate and well kept. The staff was second to none is knowledge, friendliness, and professional behaviour. I was kept well informed during my entire visit as to what was being done, why it was being done, and the results were explained thoroughly so that I didnt leave questioning any part of my visit. Would 100% recommend.

We began going to them for our eye care needs over a year ago and found them not only priced very well but very thorough in their process. I had the best eye exam I have ever had here. I would recommend them to anyone who needs eyes checked. All the staff was great and very helpful. I was at the Quincy location. They also called me ahead and sent message about my appointment and what my cost was.

Very quick to schedule appointments and give reminder calls about upcoming appointments. I have a very complicated medical history and the staff is very friendly and willing to answer all questions. Will update more after I receive a much need lens replacement surgery.

New patient treatment was excellent! I have anxiety over not being able to see and they totally made me feel relaxed. The office is nice and clean. The front desk ladies are super friendly and helpful! Doctor P was great too. He really made me feel like he understood my eye history and what I needed without the extra fluff.

I am a foster parent, and it is difficult to find care for children who have Medicaid. If you can find it, the service is sometime subpar, as if the people using a medical card are of less value.WV Eye Consultants were beyond amazing. They treated each patient with dignity and respect. They were kind and professional from check-in to check-out. Even picking out glasses was pleasant and easy.I highly recommend this practice (Charleston location) for all your eye care needs. My whole family will be going there from now on.

Friendly staff and very clean. Dr Cart was very easy to communicate with. Only thing I would like to see in Point Office is the technology where they didnt have to dialate your eyes but use the newer method.

Had a great exam, very thorough! The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. I was able to understand what my prescription meant to me. Lots of options for glasses and sunglasses. Dr. Potwin is great, and I will continue to see him as long as I live around one of their offices.

Excellent customer service. They sent my customer information sheets by email so I could bring them with me. Very efficient. Very nice facility, very up to date with plenty of parking. He shared his findings with me and explained a procedure that I need to have done. Matt administered several tests on my eyes and recorded the results for DrPotwin to look over. I’ve been going to Dr. Caudill for many years and he is a wonderful doctor. He’s taken care of almost everyone in my family. The staff is friendly, always making you feel that you’re welcome. The appointments run smoothly and I’m always confident that they are taking care of me.

The staff here is super friendly and so are the doctors. They explained everything to me before they did it and answered all of my questions. The doctor broke things down so that I would understand. I definitely recommend them!

Update on Service,WV Eye center was Excellent, but recieved a final bill 4 months later from the Charelston Surgical Hostpital where Surgery was done for $685 an UNEXPECTED bill, as WV Eye center was in my network the Charelston Surgical hostpital was not. Was not given a Choice of a Hostpitalthat was in Network of my Insurance. Should have been informed and given a Choice of where Surgery can be done.

The staff is very knowledgeable and they are very pleasant. I see Dr. Potwyn. He is a good doctor and takes his time and checks everything about your eyes. A good place to go and with confidence.

I have been having eye problems for the better part of 9 months now. I just recently was referred to Dr. Sinclair at WV Eye Consultants and he is amazing!! His staff is super nice and incredibly helpful! I’ve now been there a few more times and they have taken such great care of me, I don’t want to go anywhere else! I’m not the easiest patient (many complications) but they have been outstanding and gone above and beyond to make sure my vision is as good as it can be. I sing their praises wherever I go!:) Ps. My initial problem has gotten significantly better in just 1visit!!

They were AMAZING with my daughter. Shes very petite for her age and they were able to accommodate for her. She was also very nervous with this being her first experience and they made her feel as comfortable as possible.

I was so happy to find an eye doctor with great reviews online for my family. Went to the appt with my daughters and everything was starting out great until we got back to the room and found out that the nurse is the one who determined your eye prescription. At first I thought it must be different here and they know what they are doing. When the doctor came in I asked him to make sure the prescription she came up with was right, he told it is she knows what she is doing. Ok, then another nurse came in to take my daughter to get some contacts and he tells me I gave her some numbers to try on her to see what works. After that I went into the room with her and she couldnt even see out of them. The nurse says lets go clean them because there is something on them, still nothing cant see anything with them. Then says it must be because her eyes are dilated still. So we wait more time to see what happens. After 5-10 minutes comes back in and she still cant see with them. Then says to us, well eyes can take up to a week or two adjust to the prescription. Im sorry but Ive been wearing contacts for 20 years and my daughter for 4 years and never have heard that before. I was done at that point. Got the so called prescription from them on what they say my daughter is, took it to another doctor and he couldnt believe it. It was way off and now she can see. Go somewhere else if you can, nurses are not doctors and cant tell you what your prescription is and who wants to see a doctor that wont even confirm if she is right.

To be such a busy place, you are processed quickly, see the Dr with a minimal wait, due to the eyedrops, and examined efficiently by both the technician and doctor. All are very friendly and helpful.

I would highly recommend going to the WV Eye Consultants. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I went in for a Lasik Consult a little skeptical on whether I was going to have it done. After meeting with the Staff and Dr. I am 100% confident in them and have scheduled my Lasik.

I am very pleased with the Charleston office. The staff are all kind, and answered any questions I had. My vision was 20/400 before Lasik, now it is 20/15. I highly recommend anyone that is eligible for Lasik to get it done.

The only reason I didnt leave 5 stars is because I felt that one of the front desk associates was not polite. I told her it was my first time there and had never been to an eye doctor so I was unsure on how to register my insurance, she looked at me like I was dumb when I gave her my insurance card and started questioning me on whether I even had insurance. Everyone else there was stellar and super sweet. The technicians were personable and made being there comfortable. Dr Stansbury was super polite and punctual, he was positive and spoke in a way I understood What was happening. But I absolutely loved the ladies that were working with folks getting glasses. They were so nice and honest and gave all kinds of different options and went over everything in detail during the process.
