Ive been taking my kids to this practice for over 10 years and weve always been satisfied with their services. I dont wear glasses but lately my eyes have become blurry. I called up to make an appointment and the person I spoke with was helpful to looking at my insurance and ensuring everything was covered before I come in. Not every doctors office does this. Theyll let you get serviced and then realize youre not covered for the service received. I love taking my family to this establishment. The doctor is also very thorough and patient.

My daughter visited on February 1, 2017. They charged her $10 for the contact exam and $50 for the contact lens fitting (which is supposed to come out of the allowance given by my insurance company). When I called them to inquire why they did this, Sally couldnt give me a legitimate answer. She told me that if my daughter hadnt paid the $50 fitting fee out of pocket, then she wouldve been REQUIRED to buy her contacts from their office. Huh? In what world? Once I pay for my exam, then that prescription is mine and I can purchase contacts from whomever I so choose. You cant FORCE me to buy your overpriced contacts! This same Sally was very rude. As a result I reported her rudeness AND the practice to my insurance company. My children and I have been going to this practice for years. Sadly this is not the FIRST time Ive dealt with their rudeness and unprofessionalism, but I thought Id give them another try. Big mistake! We will not be returning and hopefully my insurance company drops them!

Dr. Kenney, his wife Diane, and their staff are terrific! They always do a great job at making me feel welcome when I visit for an appointment. They are very thorough in their examinations and are always ready to explain what they are doing, why they are doing it, and what the results are - in terms that I can understand. In a world where the goal for many is to get customers in the door, in the chair, to the register, and out the door with as little interaction as possible its refreshing to have Dr. Kenney & Associates as an option!

My husband and I have enjoyed the privilege of being seen and treated by Dr. Kenney. He is highly knowledgeable, professional, understanding, and takes time to really listen to his patients. He takes utmost care. He goes to great length to ensure the best corrective vision is provided to his patients, offering all options possible.Unfortunately, we recently moved and live too far away to continue seeing him. I started bringing my daughter to this practice a few years ago . I have always had issues with the RUDE receptionist and other front desk staff as well. The only reason I stayed as long as i did , is because we LOVED our doctor ! The girls up front have absolutely ZERO customer service skills and should not be dealing with the public on a daily basis. Thankfully , my daughters eye doctor left the practice ( cant imagine why, lol ) ! I honestly dont know how this place will stay in business if they keep letting their staff run it into the ground!!! Dont waste your time !

Beware...Dont be late! not even 9 mins, not even if there is an accident or two on your way, keep in mind this is on Rivers. It also dont matter if you had to take off from work early to fit there schedule. NONE of that matters! The only thing that matters is that your 9 mins late! It also dont matter that you and your family of three (clients) will not be coming back. It also dont matter that the appointment before you is still in the back with the doctor!!!! YOUR NOT going to be seen...The doctor has his plans and cant be late because his time is important. You will be told to reschedule your appointment. This experience was such an eye opener! We will be taking our business back to our wonderful, loving and caring eye Doctor that has never in many years of service, ever treated us like his time is more important then ours. We ALMOST let insurance coverage/changes mess a fabulous thing up. I WILL PAY OUT OF POCKET!

I have been going to Dr. Kenney since I was 19 years old I was also his first patient that he saw when he opened his practice. His wife Diane is very helpful and knowledgeable and if she doesnt have an answer for you she will find out for you. His daughter use to work there too as of the last time I visited him. I think all of the problems people are having with the rudeness if any at all should be spoken to Dr. Kenney or his wife Diane instead of posting a bad review on here. Ive never had these problems in the 37 years Ive been seeing him. Thank all of you for making my experience a good one every time I go there. I hope you and the family are doing well!! My family members have been patients at this practice for many years. We are all well pleased with the professional care we receive and are confident that our eye health is paramount to the doctors and other staff members. The outer office staff members are caring and customer service oriented. I had an occasion last year to visit this office with an eye emergency. I opted for an unscheduled visit rather visiting the emergency room. I could see that the waiting room was fulI and was told that their schedule was full but that if I was willing to wait that that would fit me in and they did.I have had interesting thought provoking conversations with the Dr. Kenneys staff member and consider them top notch.In response to some of the other writers I will add this last sentence.I have been on both ends of the customer service spectrum and know that any and everyone can have a bad day or be misheard or misunderstood.

I have been a patient there for several years and am a contract wearer. Twice now, I have had a contact emergency where my contact was lost or damaged and Ive needed to be seen. Both times I was turned away because they had a full schedule, even though their website says walk-ins welcome? Ive had to call another eye center as a new patient and was able to be accommodated that day. Low Country Eye Care was willing to see me today as a new patient for my contact emergency whereas, my own eye Dr. was not. VERY disappointed and my husband, myself, and our four children will be continuing our eye care with them instead. Also, not to mention the last appointment we did have there with myself and two of our kids, the front staff was rude and acted like I was annoying them because I had a question. Just too many bad experiences, time to find better care!

Its gotten too bad, were not going to go bad. The front desk ladies are always busy and unfriendly and unhelpful. When you sit in the waiting room and notice what theyre doing, its ALWAYS personal stuff and never has been work related.Secondly, the one good doctor that we saw has left and so this time we had to see someone else who had zero personality whatsoever and seemed like she really just hated life and her job. Makes the visit really unpleasant.Finally, their selection of frames is much smaller than it used to be and the prices are outlandish. Even with decent insurance youre going to be paying $200+ for glasses out of pocket.The only reason it isnt one star is that almost every doctors office Ive been to in this town feels like its run by people who are overdosed on Ritalin.
