I’m only giving it 3 stars simply because the food was good. The girl today on the date this is posted, that was asking for which bagels we wanted had a nasty attitude. Simply because they were about to close and the hours online were wrong so they had a line of people. Also there is not clarification on how they take payments when it comes to dining dollars or maroon meals, my friend had an issue with that. It wasn’t just me and my friend, it was also the customers behind us. they should really be more appreciative/nice to their customers and their rating wouldn’t be a 2.9

Just visited today, and I ordered a bagel with chips and a drink. Then, I proceeded to grab my chips after I had paid for my meal. The cashier tells me that I need to let her know beforehand if I want chips. I had let her know that I wanted chips before I had even paid. She then proceeds to yell and talk rudely about me in front of the entire store that is filled with numerous college students. I would heavily consider visiting another place for bagels unless you’re looking to be publicly embarrassed by incompetent workers. CofC, you can do better than this.

It’s a cultural experience. The workers will yell at you if you use the wrong door. They will yell at you if you don’t speak loud enough or pick up your order within ten seconds. Please pretty please get some new workers or put in a new restaurant in this location. The bagels are also pretty bad compared to other Einstein establishments I have been to

This place has great service in my opinion. Im a college student, so I always get the maroon meals, and everyone there is so friendly! Theres this one lady at the register and I dont know her job title but she is killing it, shes doing great. She memorized my order, is always happy, and always makes everyone feel welcome. For rush hour the wait is fairly short too, maybe 3 to 5 minutes during the busiest times when theres a line. Ill definitely keep going for my daily bagel and coffee!

The only reason this place is receiving 3 stars is because my bagel was amazing. Customer service was HORRIBLE, employees were rude!

Einstein Bros. Bagels on Saint Phillip Street in Charleston is a great place to go for all things coffee, bagels, and breakfast items. They have been consistent in their quality throughout the years and I have really enjoyed coming here. The staff here is very reliable and friendly and makes sure that you have everything that you need.

Ive been going here on a college meal plan for three years and everyone they hire already has an attitude by the time I walk in. Theres no way Id actually pay money to go there.

A local downtown meal plan attraction.. Yep the students enjoy a bran muffin and stand in line in hordes before classes to get one. The lines move faster then expected. The staff take orders from the line and que them up to check out and go as the line moves! the food is really good. Did a large order once and it flew off the table. Everyone loves it.

Waited 20 minutes to get my egg sandwich. Horrible service. The bagel wasnt even toasted well and it tasted stale. No variation of bagels here, not even French Toast bagels. Didnt accept the reward system either. Basically the worst Einsteins Ive ever been to, does not even near meet the quality standards of your average Einsteins Bros.

I went to try and get breakfast before work and stood at the registered for 5 minutes. No response from the employees. I will never go back again.

To address other reviewers concerns:1. No parking = This is Charleston. Of course theres no parking.2. Unfriendly staff = Yeah, theyre employed by the College of Charleston dining services. Most of the dining services people are unfriendly.3. Good for students, but not in a students budget = Its part of our meal plan, thanks. As a student, this place is great. Its right next to my dorm, and I like the bagels. Of course its not going to be like a free-standing one because its part of the College of Charleston.

Not very impressive. Cashier was not very friendly. I got the apple wood bacon and cheddar.. It was ok, not disgusting but nothing very flavorful or distinctive about it. The place reminded me of one of those airport breakfast places that doesnt have room to make anything very good and has enough of a captive audience that they dont care anyway, which I guess is fair since its stuck in the bottom of a dorm with thousands of hungry college kids around.Anyway, theres tons of good eating within a few blocks, so just keep walking, youll find something better.

Some of the staff is awesome but I went in there for food in the middle of midterms while im sick because I dont want to walk to Liberty and I got aggressively yelled at by one of the workers for not getting my bagel in 5 seconds. She yelled blueberry bagel and I didnt know if someone in front of me had ordered a plain blueberry bagel because I got something on mine. Seriously annoyed about someone who isnt my parent yelling at me the way she did.

Its obvious the other reviewers are not CofC students. Yeah, I guess this place would kinda suck for not non-students. But... its literally located in the bottom of a dorm. Sorry, but leave it to the students, guys. Its a great place and makes sense for students.

The staff never fails to mess up my order, every single time I go they forget to make my bagel, give it to someone else, or get my order wrong. A few of the workers are at least polite, but the majority of them are incredibly rude and treat the customers terribly

Thought Id found my Caribou treat while out of town. Had trouble with parking...ok, its downtown. Had a ridiculously long line...ok, its breakfast time for students at 10am on a Sunday. They didnt have my husbands favorite bagel...ok reference earlier statement...busy and they had more being prepared. The absolute worst...1) no real chocolate like normal Caribou (still understandable) 2) THE EXPRESSO MACHINE WAS BROKEN 3) TONS OF ESPRESSO DRINKS ON THE MENU AND NO POSTING ABOUT THE BROKEN MACHINE. Half hour of my life wasted...a bad look for this Einstein/Caribou thing.

Called ahead to ask if they participated in the free bagle on Veterans Day and was told yes. Then I arrive and the answer becomes no. Its not a big deal to me if they are participating, but wasting my time with employees who either lied about finding the answer or are incompetent just irks me.
