I had a flat tire that needed to be patched, and I figured while my car was there Id get an oil change as well. They anticipated that I would have my car there the whole day, but lucky for me there was a cancellation and my car was done in about 2 hours. The staff is so professional and kind. I will definitely be going back for all of my cars needs🙂

Took in a classic car for a brake flush. Not only did they get it done quickly, they modified their machine to make sure that the job was done correctly since it has classic parts that were a different type of fitting. Great service, dedicated to get the job done and right.

My car was showing 2 codes and running very rough. The place where I had usually took my care for repair was booked so I gave Chapel Hill Tire a try. Very impressed from start to finish. The woman who checked it in was very helpful. I dropped it off late one afternoon and they had it ready before 2PM the next day. The pricing was reasonable and the quality of the work was top notch. These folks have my business from now on.

We used CH Tire for 20 years, but stopped several years ago because of bills for services we didn’t order and extraordinary repeated unpleasantness at the reception desk. The offending employee seems to have moved on and the current folks are quite good. Can’t vouch for quality of service yet, but certainly more customer oriented at front desk.

I recently moved to the area, I got a chance to this location. I am very impressed with the service. I worked with Lidia and Im very impressed that she took the time to call me back to walk me through the details cost of my service prior to bringing my car in. On my second trip to drop the car of Chris was also very polite and understanding. Norma was also exceptional patient and drove with experience.

We really love CH Tire. They always do a wonderful job. We were surprised to see we were charged a diagnostic fee and even called to inquire about it. In the past our experience has been that if you have the work done at the company that diagnosed the issue, then you weren’t charged the fee. We were also surprised by the high cost of the repair and called other places that charged much less. After talking to others they expressed the same concerns and have switched to other local businesses. We are only being honest but really love the service at CH Tire and the way you treat your loyal customers.

Our experience was Excellent! We needed the vehicle repaired quickly because my husband was having surgery the next morning at Duke. (We actually reside in Pennsylvania. I was nervous about driving because warnings lights started going off along with a clunking sound.)Chris was so accommodating and kind in setting up our appointment and also let us have a loaner car! I’ve been using Chapel Hill Tire since the late Al Pons owned and operated it and now that his son Marc has followed in his footsteps. Although over the years I’ve used almost all the locations the shop at University Place is where I’ve been going for the last ten years. I’ve always received timely, friendly, knowledgeable and professional customer service at reasonable prices. They text or call you whichever you prefer to keep you updated all along the process so you are not surprised at the last minute with extra costs. Important to me as a long-time Chapel Hill resident is that CH Tire and Marc Pons and his lovely family give back to the community in a variety of ways. I was one of his father’s tennis double partners and friends and I know he would be very proud. I highly recommend any Chapel Hill Tire location but especially the conveniently located shop in University Place. The mall has a 24/7 security service so your car is never left alone over night without some type of supervision.

They went above and beyond for me today! There was a bit of a snafu when making my appt for an oil change and tire rotation. When I arrived, Chris (I think it was Chris?) told me I wasnt on the books, they were closing in 1.5 hrs and couldnt guarantee they could fit me in because they were so full. I said I start a new job on Monday and wouldnt be able to take time off in the near future. Chris said well do our best, no guarantee. An emergency flat arrived while I waited and I thought oh no, they wont get to me. He and his staff worked on my car after they closed. They didnt have to do that - it was after hours. I was so grateful and am always so happy to give businesses like this my money. Oh, Ive used Chapel Hill tire (different locations depending on where I worked) based on recommendations for a decade and have always been thrilled with their work and their advice on my 2005 car. The process that they have is seamless, very efficient and I was comfortable knowing my car was in good hands. The cost to get something done though, is insanely high. I never got anything done because I double checked with my mechanic friends to make sure the price they were asking was legit, and they were overcharging me by hundreds of dollars. Would recommend if your pockets are deep!

Had my car taken there for brakes and they gave top notch service. They found out my tire thread was pretty bad but I had a warranty on tires elsewhere so I wasn’t able to purchase from them but they were concerned about my safety when I had to take it down the road. Been doing business with chapel Hill tire for about 35 years. Never been disappointed. Very pleased.

Great service in replacing tire with a nail hole instead of using failure-prone plugs. Photo of tire shows the nail was at the tread wall curve where most tire shops would put a simple plug. However, plugs often fail, or let water seep into the tire for massive tire failure. Ouch! Chapel Hill Tire only does integrated patch/plug repairs - kudos! This tire could not be repaired that way, so we got a new tire. Thank you for safety first attitude.

Took my tire Durham location. They said they didnt have equipment to change tractor tire after telling me they could over the phone. Then they said our chapel hill location@ universety mall could. So I took it over there to find out they dont have the equipment either. They told me its all done by hand. So left the tire there for three days. Then they called and said they could not find the tire. What a waste of time. Never again. Tire solution was the the place off cheek rd. Ordered tire and install 48 hrs.

I’ve been going to Chapel Hill Tire for standard maintenance since I moved to town, and they’re great for that. Lately, I’ve been having a strange issue with my car, and while I ended up having to take it to the dealer, the team at CHT really went above and beyond in trying to figure out the cause of my troubles. Lidia was especially kind and wonderful, her customer service skills are A+. I’d recommend them to anyone!

Just an outrageous markup on parts last time I was there ($73 vs. $45 for rotors) plus the last two times I’ve been I’ve had issues with work I was charged for that wasn’t able to be completed, and then trying to sell me on labor they’d done the previous time I brought my car in.I used to think they were very transparent and reliable, but I’ve not been impressed lately.

I was on the side of the road with a blown tire needing to get it off and my spare on and Linda came to the rescues and helped me. she was extremely helpful and nice. i’m pregnant so i was freaking out considering i was on the side of the highway and she put my spare on and had me follow her to make sure it was on there good and i was safe.

They did an inspection and tire rotation. Price was reasonable.

I recently used CHT pick up and delivery service for regular maintenance. I cant say enough about how smooth it was and the communication that took place. Not having to drop off my car and get a ride was a HUGE help for myself and my work day. What a convenience!! I called Chapel Hill Tire at the last minute to have my horn repaired in order to pass inspection. Lydia picked up and was extremely polite and engaging. She explained the entire process to me and set realistic expectations. She also offered me a 1st time customer discount, which I wasnt expecting. Upon finding out that they would need to run diagnostics to figure out what was going on, she called me to get my permission and let me know the cost (which was great b/c Ive definitely had other mechanics perform services w/o alerting me, resulting in a much higher bill than expected). The diagnostics charge was more than reasonable, so I gave the ok. Turns out that I needed a part that was covered under warranty, and I wouldnt have known that if Lydia hadnt taken the time to look into it further. She immediately called me to let me know and even printed the information out to me so I could take my car to the dealership for repairs. Such great service and I will definitely call them again for any future service needs!!!

We dropped my daughters car off because one if the back tires was continually needing air. Upon inspection, they told us that one of the belts in the drivers side back tire was about to break and the car should not be driven. The back tires would have to be replaced. They would not be able to do the tires until the following Monday because they had to be ordered. In the meantime we checked with another tire place in the area and they were able to get comparable tires for cheaper so we went with them. After their inspection, they said the car had been fine to drive, and that the belt was not about to break. They did replace the back tires because they didnt have a whole lot more life in them but was not as dire a situation as Chapel.Hill Tire made it out to be and we saved about $300. We will never use Chapel Hill Tire again. They are overpriced and are not truthful with their customers. We have had similar issues in the past.

I wish I could give 10 stars for the service I received today! I came in today at 4:15 (they had actually closed at 4) hoping to see someone because my tire pressure light had come on! They immediately welcomed me despite my timing error and told me to swing around the garage and five mins later, JR had filled all four of my tires with no questions asked and sent me on my way. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment here!

Made an appointment online for a new set of tires. They allowed me to drop off the car the day before. Before my appointment was to even start, they had completed the repairs and informed me that my car was ready. Very professional and well instituted social distancing protocols currently necessary. I can not speak for any other service other than tire replacement and wheel alignment but I am very happy with the service I received and would recommend to anyone needing it.

Aaron was prompt with getting me in for an appointment and explained pricing down to the tax. The wait time was less than what he quoted me. The waiting area is closed at this university place location due to Covid however there is seating outside. 4 new tires installed perfectly wheel alignment check came back good so no need for alignment. Great staff great prices well done!

Can’t say enough about how much we like working with the University Mall crew. We have had some frustrating care issues and I can’t say enough about how much they have gone above and beyond to help sort things out and communicate well. We initially went there for a warranty repair through CarMax and have had such a good experience we have switched there for all of our routine maintenance

Super friendly, helpful. Went out of their way to accommodate me. Recognized I was a nurse and volunteered discount I was unaware of. Just a great crew! Will continue to take my vehicle here for all needs. Can be very long wait times because they are busy, hence, the 4 stars in lieu of 5 but this is understandable given volume they serve and quality of work.

Busy but friendly service.

I have been to Chapel Hill Tire two times in the past year for various repairs/concerns. I absolutely cannot overstate the quality of their customer service. They have always been happy to assist me and accommodating of my busy schedule. I have been impressed both times with the pricing of repairs, and have never been pressured into getting superfluous work done. I would absolutely recommend them for any service/repair.Edit: just reiterating my previous review based on my most recent experience. Great communication and customer service, easy to schedule an appointment online with little notice. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Had battery replaced, went well they handled with no appointment

I took my car there for the inspection. Only problem was my tail lights did not work so i asked the guys at Chapel Hill Tire to fix the tail lights and get my car up to pass inspection. They did just that and also installed a battery cable end which saved me money because i was asking for the whole wire and the guy let me know the wire was not necessary. They were fast, courteous, and accurate. They were very good at returning my phone calls and keeping me up to date with the progress and also made sure i was ok with the price before doing the work. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I paid by text and online and because i didnt have enough in my primary account when I tried to pay it the online bill pay went ahead and accepted partial payment then when I went to pay the rest it took the whole payment. so i had to wait over a week to get the 89 dollars credited back to my account. Other then that I was very satisfied and will plan to use them in the future! Thanks guys u are awesome 😁

I arrived early for my appointment and they quickly took my car in for the inspection. The lobby was spotless, everybody was wearing a mask. Customers had a shady spot to wait outside and my car was done quickly. I will be taking my car here from this time forward.

Edit: they called and apologized and corrected the information in their computer so I updated my review based on past service, which has been excellent.I got a text that my car was being serviced yesterday. Odd since I was at a playground with my car at the time. Today I received a text asking for a review of that service. I can only conclude they mixed me up with someone of the same name and probably should do a better job verifying who they are servicing. I’m sure there will be interesting updates on my account now.

CH Tire has always done good work for a fair price. For this visit, that remained true AND they did a thorough job of keeping customers safe with their COVID procedures. They put a lot of effort into that set of standards and they deserve credit for doing so.

I made an appointment for an 11 am inspection and I was a few minutes late. I felt very safe as guidelines were in place...masks and social distancing. The woman who checked me in was very nice. However, I came bc I had an apt and would be in and out. But that was not the case. at noon, my car was still sitting in the parking lot and I had to ask how much longer. I was told I was next. Finally, at 12:15 I was told they were taking my car in and it would be another 10 minutes. I left for a walk but at 12:22 I received a text that my car was ready with a link to pay online so that was very convenient. I realize things have changed and we need to expect longer lines/waits.

I had a great experience! Employees were nice and told me exactly what to do to make the process run smoothly. However, I did have an appointment at 1 and they started working on my car at 1:50 so that was pretty annoying. Didn’t finish the appointment until 2:30 ish
