I brought my car in to replace a wheel hub and bearing that was starting to fail on my 2012 passat. I was lucky because Jerry and the team got me in and out on the same day that I called. Suffice it to say I was so pleased with the visit that I cant wait until I get more car troubles so that I can pay them a visit again! Does that make me weird? 😂. The reason I called My Dad’s Automotive, my NSX would not start after I had driven to a shopping center; no starter “click”, or power whatsoever. Brian, the owner, personally came out, found me in the lot, diagnosed the problem that the alternator was not re-charging at all, and that he’d follow me back to his shop in case the engine quit altogether while in route ! Not only did they fix it the next day, Jerry noticed my state inspection sticker had expired, so they updated that at the same time ! Their thoroughness and knowledge of cars is impressive ! I writing this review based on couple of phone calls I had with Brain in last 1 year. I never got My BMW repaired with My Dad Automotive due to warranty on my vehicle with dealer. Mr. Brain knows that and still he spent lot of time explaining the issues and rates of various parts etc. He always gave great advises to me. He is a true mechanic with great knowledge, business ethics and customer focused. I will be soon taking my vehicle to him for regular servicing as my warranty ending soon.

Brian the owner and head mechanic is very knowledgeable and will help you make the right choices in your repairs. My Dads will also give you a full run down on what else is wrong with your vehicle for future reference. Prices are a little high but you are definitely getting the most bang for your buck. And their warranty is stellar.

This is hands down THE BEST automotive shop in the area. You are dealing with the people that own the business (Brian is the mechanic and his wife is the operation manager), and wants to do good business with their customers. Prices are reasonable (1/3 of dealers, and 1/2 to 2/3 of other private auto shops. On top of that, you get honest advice. They want your happiness and satisfaction, not all your hard-earned money on random things that your car needs. They also work with you if you have extended warranty for your car. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

I wish more car repair shops were like this place. Brian is a stand up guy and is very knowledgeable. This is for those that want their car fixed right without all the BS that goes on at other places, including dealers. They do very good work at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this shop.

Brian has taken great care of me here; above and beyond. I took my 4-Runner there for a complete caliper replacement job...not easy by any means. The job was well done...a 1 day turn-around, and at a price that no one else could touch. I was nervous about the way the car felt after, but Brian went to a huge effort to make me comfortable. I had my Toyota Tacoma fully serviced with an extensive overhaul by My Dads and they were SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Toyota and used the same genuine Toyota parts. I have no idea why you would go to the dealership. The owner was one guy and he was the actual mechanic. Here you deal directly with the person working on your car, not a receptionist who doesnt know anything and has an attitude like at EVERY Toyota dealership Ive been to. My Dads also stands behind their work longer than the Toyota dealership... I love this place.

I drive 40 minutes from Alexandria to go to My Dads Automotive in Chantilly, Virginia. They do a great job explaining what needs to be done on my car and explaining the differences between what is necessary or not to fix. I highly recommend other people take your car into My Dads to get your work done or at least to get a second opinion on dealership quotes. I saved over $500 dollars compared to what my dealership was trying to charge me for service I did not need.

I had fun today. All my cultural conditioning says that going to a garage is supposed to be a painful thing that we do because we must, but no one is expected to actually LIKE doing it! Even the Service Advisors are supposed to find it a bit painful. Yet I actually enjoyed myself today! Brian worked on my VW Touareg (oil and filter) while I chatted with Stefanie. It was a good time! We talked about kids and the responsibilities of being an adult while I drank coffee and she worked scheduling people, taking payments, and getting estimates. Why is this important? Because I love My Dads Automotive because I am a *person* first, and a client second. That is worth the additional effort to drive the 10 miles for an oil change only to worry about finding a parking space (I found one)! Personalized and personal service by kind people who obviously care about the quality of the job they do. What is NOT to love?

We took our Toyota Prius into My Dads Automotive when we had a brake issue and just happened to be in the vicinity of this repair shop. What an unexpected surprise to stumble upon an honest and responsive automotive repair place! We ended up having a brake issue that was part of a Toyota recall and instead of just telling us what the problem was and charging us accordingly, My Dads thoroughly researched the issue, called Toyota on our behalf, and kept us posted every step of the way on when the repair would be completed. They even called us again one day later to make sure everything was running smoothly. Its service like this that makes me want to take the time to write a Google review. Highly recommend!

Brian (the owner/head technician) has been working on my cars for approximately 10 years dating back to his experience at Pohanka Acura and Mercedes of Arlington (American Service Center).This is a true professional independent establishment where no detail is left unchecked. Brian ensures that your car is correctly diagnosed and explains what work is necessary to fix your car at current time. He also discusses any future work that will need addressing further down the line just so you have that knowledge but dont need to necessarily address at present. Brian does not oversell/upsell work like many shops and dealerships in the area to turn profits.He currently services my two vehicles and all my familys vehicles.(Nine in total). Lots of hype, no real substance. Left car for the entire day to check on why AC does not work. $200 later no clue. Just bring back as it could be this thing that costs $1,000.
