Always friendly and dependable service. I started going there 20 years ago when I moved to Boulder, and even though Ive lived in Denver for the last 10 years I still go back to Spruce Street Auto for larger issues because I trust them and they do great work for a reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

It was my first visit to Spruce St. My interactions on the phone with Jeff left a good impression, as did the cleanliness off the shop, and the politeness and professioanalism of Bob, .Jeff and the other younger mechanic. I received prompt service and good value. Ill use them again.

I dont think you could go to a worse shop. Jeff is an absolute joke, he will not stand behind his work and always blame something irrelevant (even when they blatantly left bolts loose after an alignment, if you could even call it that.)Dont be fooled by the start rating here! Read the reviews for Hawleys Bear Alignment!!This shop is known to be one of the worst in Boulder.

Jeff is great. I am so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable AND friendly mechanic. I’ve been taking my Jeeps to him for years, and can’t believe it took me so long to leave him a review. One of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and always fixes my issue for a practical rate. Rest easy, this is the right place to take your vehicle to.

What an awesome experience! Completely honest and straightforward. I had other shops around town, some of the major corporate shops, they tried to charge me ridiculous charges. I really appreciate Jeff being honest and real with me. I will make it a point to tell everyone I know to take their vehicles to Jeff for everything. Thank you Jeff.

Called them about a possible alignment issue and made an appointment for a week later when they could get me in. I dropped my truck off around 9am and left. By about 3pm, I hadnt heard anything. I called about 30 minutes later and found out they hadnt touched the truck yet. I wasnt confident that they could finish the job by closing time, so I just picked my truck up. No apologies for not getting around to it. What good is making an appointment if theyre not going to stick to it? At least a phone call letting me know it would be delayed would have been nice.

Really impressed with the service. Extremely grateful I found this shop. I just moved in the area from Michigan and had a few problems with my Ford Escape on the drive. These guys were super helpful, fast, and best of all, well-priced. The next issue I have, these guys will be the first I call!

This is one of the very best mechanic shops I have ever been to. The price for an alignment was less than 2 other shops I checked. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes. Jim is one of the happiest and most service oriented people I have ever met, and he straightened one of my running boards in two minutes, literally, when one of the high volume body shops in north Boulder told me they couldnt possibly fix it for less than $1,000. The charge from this shop: $0.00. He also fixed a minor mess up, from this same high cost/high volume body shop in one minute. Cost: $0.00. These guys are not in business to make a quick buck. They are in business to provide a service. Imagine that. Ill be back. I dont care if they cost twice what the guy down the street costs. They earned my respect and my loyalty.

Being on a tight budget, they got my rear alignment on my 2004 Jeep Wrangler done, but couldn’t complete the front due to some bad axle u-joints, and bad ball joints. They checked out the entire jeep for me while they were at it and told me what needed fixed, and had a complete print out ready for me when I picked up my vehicle. Very friendly and professional staff, and most importantly knowledgeable.

Recently moved to town and have been searching for a quality mechanic that will do honest work, and thats exactly what I found. Clearly an experienced crew, they listened to my issue and were able to get me scheduled quickly. I thought the issue would take some frame work to get resolved, but after they examined the problem in more detail, they were able to get it fixed right away. I will be taking my Jeep back to these guys for everything else I need work on.

Ive taken my vehicle to this shop twice. Once in February, and again in early March-April 2016. After both visits (February and March-April) something major broke on my first drive after parking it at my residence a few blocks away. The first visit cost me about $2,000 for an intake manifold and some other minor work. Within 5 miles of driving after leaving the shop my head gasket went out. I decided to take it back to the Spruce St Auto because I still had faith in their service. They diagnosed it and agreed to wait a few days while I negotiated with a warranty company about the repair. A week later, on March 9 I gave them the go ahead to repair the head gasket. The job was estimated to take a week, and cost about $4,000. Every week from March 9 until April 11 they told me it would take another few days. It took them over a month after I had given them permission to do the work for a job they said would take a week.I explained why this was unacceptable, and how their delay was preventing me from moving across the country. They still delayed another two times after that conversation. The shop offered no apology whatsoever for their extremely delayed work. No apology, not a discount, nothing. So I paid them the $4,000 and headed on my way.Within hours of leaving the shop this time ANOTHER component they had been working with failed almost leaving me stranded in the middle of Nebraska. Ended up costing me another $400 to fix that, and I was finally able to continue my journey.Very disappointed in the service here. I do not recommend this shop, especially for difficult and costly jobs.

I moved to CO from NC recently after living in a small town for 25 years. Part of what scared me about moving was finding new doctors and hair dressers and mechanics. I used the same mechanic for 10 years! It terrified me to find a new one! I work at a small business downtown and one day a nice man came by near the holidays and offered a discount card for oil changes. I thought I might as well give it a shot. I recently came by for an oil change and my experience was awesome! Everyone was super nice, the lounge area was off to the side enough that I didnt feel in the way, and a girl came in while I was there and praised the shop the whole. I think I found my new place!

They are quick, and they eventually did a nice job.I went in to change the springs on my Jeep from a 4inch to a 2.5 inch, also to replace my shocks. They were done the same day and I picked up the Jeep. I heard from rattling noise coming from under the Jeep when going over bumps. I took it back and they said it was just the springs needing to adjust. I asked if I could take this off roading and everything would be okay, they said yes and that nothing would be damaged.Come to find that my muffler and Drive Shaft were hitting each other. This is something they did not see and I wish they would have been more careful in noticing this, I would have had a hole in the muffler and really been stranded.I took it back to get it fixed and they still charged me full price to bolt the muffler that got loose after taking the Jeep on some trails. The Owners response was: well you just paid for the spring and shock installation. I dont know who is right/wrong, but I wish there could have been a compromise, now I was out an extra $65.

My husband and I moved here in January and had no idea who to use. After reading the reviews for Spruce Street I decided to give the place a try. I called on a Thursday and set an appointment for Monday. Even though I had not agreed to anything, and despite the fact that he had not even had a chance to look at my car, he had already kind of known what was going on and had the part ordered just in case so that he could have me in and out in only one day! I was shocked. I had expected to be out of commission for at least three. This place is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a long standing (hes been here over 30 years) extremely capable group. Im telling you this is the place to go.

I own a fairly unusual Toyota Land Cruiser from 1982, I took it to these guys to give it a major modification to pass emissions in Boulder County, they did the conversion, but didnt do a great job- though it was a difficult job, practically a rebuild. In earlier repairs, it had taken up to 3 times for them to get their repair right. On this repair, the first time my battery died and they hooked up the alternator wrong, and told me the incorrect information when I asked them about it, and this was after theyd been working on it for 4 weeks, after that amount of time, it should be running well, instead of dying and requiring me to leave it there for another week for them to fix it, and even after that they didnt hook up a hose well and another hose was spraying power steering fluid all over my engine because they neglected to make sure it was tight after installing a new power steering pump, and this repair to get it to pass emissions also cost over $5000... Overall, they got it mostly done, but I would not recommend them, they dont check their work carefully, are a bit overpriced, and dont seem to be able to fix things correctly the first time. I hope this review is helpful, maybe youll have a better experience than me, but most likely not.

I brought a Dana 60 rear axle to have spruce street 4x4 set a ring and pinon and torque down the pinon nut. 2 weeks later I received a call that it was done so I went to pick it up. I loaded it on my trailer to take it home and then was told to back it up to the bay so he can install the seal. He did not use a torque wrench or a torque dial indicator. The work is blatantly unprofessional. Then was told the total was $650.00! I will be taking it to another shop to Chechen the torque and specs. If you do business here you will also do business with an lawyer as well.
