They told me everything that was wrong with my car and what I could hold off on and what needed immediate attention. Their price for the work on my car, was the best. I needed a battery and a oil sensor leak. Im so excited. This place is great and fair.

My first time taking my car to J&S was a very good experience. Mike was very professional. He called me quickly after I dropped my car off to tell me the issue with my car and price. Price was reasonable. I will definitely go back and recommend to others!

Omg where do I start! I found this repair shop as it was a foreign car repair shop and not far from home. I looked at the reviews on Yelp as well as google and this place seemed to be one of the better options. 1-2 week prior i had taken my 2015 Benz GLA 250 to the dealer which is always overpriced and was informed my turbocharge was bad. When i spoke with the repair shop told them i was informed that the turbo charge was bad and i needed it replaced.I received a call from Mike i want to say prior to changing the turbo and said that if they change the turbo basically there could be other things wrong like the engine. So i proceeded to have him change the turbo for $2900 as i was informed by the dealer that that was the issue. I got a call the same day close to the shops closing time and they said i can pick the car up. I pick the car up turbo replaced but the car is still NOT drivable nor does it accelerate, making a loud noise, shaking, and smoke/combustion coming out the tailpipe. I get about 50-60 feet from the shop and turn around to take the car back.Yet Im a female and dont know half as much about cars but i understand that the turbo could have caused some issues with the engine but i would think that a a repair shop you would assess what all is going on instead of just changing the turbo and letting me pick the car up malfunctioning. I dont know if Mike is the owner but very unprofessional and didnt really seem to care especially since i had already paid for the repairs . But its definitely obvious that they didnt give a damn about my safety because they could not have test drove that car before letting me pick it up. Mike tells me they didnt drive it after fixing it because if something happened to the car it would have been on them... so you fix a car but dont see if its working right after you fix a major part?????? Then proceeds to tell me that he wasnt sure now that the turbo is fixed if its the timing chain or something else and to look at that if they have to pull out the engine 2K plus whatever it would cost to fix the problem that could range from 2-6k . No thank you Sir you lost my trust when i picked up my car in the condition i did even if there was another problem why not call and tell me that to see if i want it further assessed before you just let me pick up an undrivable car. Never again! Needless to say i had to have it towed back to the dealer!

My hoses came loose and my X5 kept over heating They fixed my water pump radiator hoses and thermostat same day service all for a good price

J & S is awesome! I trust Mike. I brought my Honda and now my Audi here for years. My mother brings in her Mercedes-Benz. Mike has very fair estimates and offers pleasant customer service.

Im was so excited to find this place to work on my older model Mercedes Benz , I thought I was going to have to pay a serious amount of money to get the work I needed done and the owner was very knowledgeable and told me what it might be and that getting an entire new engine might not be needed. It only took a couple hours to be fixed and the issue I had with my car is gone Im soooo happy !!!!!!! Thank uuuuu

My car was overheating and I looked up and on the corner was J & S foreign auto repair what a blessing. Schedule appointment and they call me back let me know when it was possible to come in got my car fixed. Now my car is not overheating, thermostat & intake fan fix plus air conditioners running well, overall reasonable pricing and good customer service... Good business

Mike and Drew were very courteous and professional. They worked on both my sons car and mine. They explained things in great detail and they showed me the problems where needed. Ill go back to these guys for all needs on my car.

I thought the shop was honest and a good place to take your vehicle but the service was horrible they didn’t fix my issue and argued me up and down about it the out of all people the manager mike states that they will not fix my vehicle after already charging a 1000 dollars for a simple fix never recommending j and a auto to no one very unprofessional people

I am not sure why my negative review keeps being taken down. I really wanted to like this shop since it is a few blocks from my house. I had them replace a blower motor resistor. I called in advance and asked for an estimate. The estimate was a few dollars more than the dealer, but they stated they would have been able to do the job tomorrow whereas the dealer would be a few days. Being that the job literally entails undoing a few plastic screws under the glovebox, taking out the resistor, and replacing it - it should literally be a job that takes 30 minutes for an amateur. I was having back issues and was swamped with work so I had wifey take in the car. Everything worked fine. The problem was the price. It was double what we talked about on the phone. I called the shop back and confirmed that all they did was replace the blower motor resistor and nothing else. I confirmed that it took about 15 minutes in labor. The owner neglected to state that there is a 2 hour labor minimum. We even paid a higher parts cost than the dealer to which the owner retorted that we can talk about inferior parts at lower prices. Come on! This is a Bosch shop and the piece being replaced had Bosch as the OEM. Owner was unresponsive in our request to have one hour of labor refunded. BBB was useless. Owner was unwilling to budge, hence my ongoing pursuit to ensure that people know what kind of experience I had with this shop. I own a VW. They break...a lot...like all German cars in the US. This was a few years ago and I have already have voer $1000 worth of maintenance and repairs done on my vehicle that could have went to this place. I would advise people go to Mike and Sons in Berwyn or the new AAA repair place in North Riverside instead of this place if you want good and honest service.
