While in vacation, I knew my alternator was failing. There were a few recommended places in close proximity to each other. The first place said ‘we can get you in 2 weeks’. 9th Street Auto had the alternator replaced early and under budget. Professional, courteous, personable folks and nice place.

These guys were professional and sincerely committed to getting us back on the road as quickly as they could. They replaced the radiator and water pump in my ‘95 4Runner. The truck has performed beautifully since, driving at highway speeds over a mountain pass in 100 degree weather. If you’re broken down in Bend, go to 9th street!

As a mechanically inclined individual I make sure to do my research when it comes to shops. We I contacted 9th street they were trying to charge me extra for a filter replacement on a Ford HF35 CVT transmission when the only way you can replace it is by completely disassembling the unit. Also quoting me $400 for a transmission fluid change. The Ford dealership down the road will offer you a much more honest price. $199 and will check for contaminants.

I have been extremely happy with the service that Ninth Street Auto has given me over the years. They have serviced my Volvo S-80 T6 for years, my Ford F250 truck and my fifth wheel trailer also for years. After being quoted over 2,000 dollars to repair my transfer case at another shop they got me back on the road for just over 500 bucks. This is after already spending another 2k rebuilding my transmission while traveling through California. They also gave me a veteran discount on all parts and labor. I was having issues with my 2008 Mercedes ML350. I had the vehicle serviced by a local shop that specialized in European vehicles and after they initially misdiagnosed the problem later advised that the best option was likely to scrap the vehicle as the cost to repair it would be more than it was worth. I called Steve at 9th Street Auto as I had been very satisfied with the service they provided on another vehicle of mine. He confirmed that 9th Street works on Mercedes and suggested that I bring it in so that they could take a look. They ran diagnostics and found that cylinder 4 was dead. Looked inside with a scope and determined that the issue was likely a bad valve and provided an estimate for the repair. As they dismantled the engine they discovered that the intake manifold was also in bad shape. The completed both repairs within a short amount of time and stayed in regular communication throughout the process. Very impressed with Steve and the 9th Street team and will gladly refer business to them. The Mercedes runs great!

I’ve come here before with two other vehicles, got quoted for a transmission that my car didn’t need a few years back. Gave it a shot again, had them do a transmission fluid and filter change on my 2014 Ram 1500 they quoted me $224 for it, brought the truck in and a few hours later got a call that they didn’t know my truck had a integrated filter and pan, then told me it would be an additional $280, so ending price $580 after being quoted the $224 originally. Wasn’t too pleased by the misquote but what can I say, I have a new an and filter and fresh fluid.

These guys may be good mechanics but they do not know sprinters. I came in with acceleration problems and a hissing sound as well as the smell of fuel and they came back with a diagnostic of a failed exhaust manifold and said the part is in back order in the entire world (?) so they don’t know when they’ll be able to get that part and fix it. I took it to several other garages that all confirmed it was not my exhausted manifold and that it was actually a leaky tube in the EGR. Another garage provided me with a full diagnostic report, were extremely knowledgeable in sprinters and got it fixed in a matter of two days.They didn’t charge me for the diagnostic fee which was nice but doesn’t outweigh the fact that they gave me a wrong diagnostic and tried to tell me this part doesn’t exist in the entire world.... Would not recommend them if you have a sprinter.

We dont feel confident in this mechanics work AT ALL. I came here about 6 months ago needing both CV axle shafts replaced and paid for this service accordingly.So, a couple of weeks ago we were on a road-trip and went around a sharp corner and CLUNK! something in the bottom of the car has completely fallen out. Luckily we were going slow and stopped straight away. After investigating it, we noticed it was the left CV axle shaft that came apart, as per the pictures below.So we had to get towed quite a way to the only mechanic that was open on the public holiday, the other mechanic was extremely helpful and noticed as soon as he saw the damage that someone did not do their job properly at all. He only needed to see that the axle shafts were brand new and had already come apart to realize this. The mechanics at Ninth Street Auto, did NOT torque the bolts in and didnt implement any lock-tight. The mechanic that helped us recommended us to go back and get compensated for this as he himself stated, If a customer came to me with a repair I did and it looked like this, I would reimburse them 100% for their troubles and fix it with my fullest apologies.However, Ninth Street Auto Bend reacted quite the opposite. We called up for an appointment and Gordon said to come in and they would have a look at it, but defensively pointed out that axle shafts dont need lock-tight unless you didnt want them coming out. What!?This morning we finally got in for an appointment and presented the pictures and the other mechanics statements on how their mechanical work failed. Gordon got one of his workers on the job and they finished within an hour, seemed easy enough. He stated yes that they didnt torque or lock-tight the axle and that theyve done it now, he also reimbursed us ONLY for the work the other mechanic had charged us to fix their mistake, refused to reimburse us for the expensive towing fee or the previous labor that failed.He assured us that the bolt that was stuck in has been taken out and that both axles are in good condition now. However, upon reviewing the receipt we noticed they only fixed the left side, the side that had already fell out. I called up and asked him to clarify this, and he stated that they didnt replace the right axle to begin with so that side was never under warranty for them to fix. Really? The receipt from 6 months ago says otherwise and I paid for BOTH parts. Gordon was increasingly defensive on the phone, he wouldnt hear what we had to say. He DID NOT apologize for ANY of the inconvenience or the danger they put us in, and now we only have one side torqued and lock-tighted, and will drive with the anxiety that the right axle could now fall apart at any time - which is extremely dangerous and could cause a major accident if this is truly the case.We feel like were being punished for going back there. They state they have a warranty on their parts and their labor but they make you feel like youre the one in the wrong if you were ever to use this service. All we wanted was to feel secure and safe when we drove off the lot, now we feel taken advantage of and pushed aside.Attached are photos of the damage and the receipts. I encourage everybody that uses their services to double check your receipts and that the work hasnt been negligently handled. I sincerely hope no one gets hurt from their work.EDIT: Google Reviews wont let me upload the photos so I will upload these on a Facebook review.

Paid for professional estimate. Was told a plethora of things in my front end were causing the slight vibration in my excursion. Quoted 2100.00. Took to another shop. 30 seconds into a free test drive mechanic told me the problem. 27.00 ujount on rear driveshaft fixed it. Stay away from dishonest shops like this one

What a fantastic business! The owners are so kind. Toni was so patient with me on the phone as I explained my car situation, and she immediately got me on the books to be seen and have a failed belt repaired. On picking up the car, Tonis partner was so amiable and happy to explain what had happened to the vehicle in laymans terms. Never felt rushed out pushed into anything. The owners really were so reassuring and helpful. What could have been a truly stressful experience (particularly when there were wildfires encroaching on Bend!) turned into a manageable and easy situation. Love this place!!! A coworker recommended Steve and Toni, and I can see why! They’re incredibly kind and honest. They’re looking out for what’s best rather than what they can sell you. I had all my brake pads replaced as well as the rotors and I was shocked at what a great price it was! My truck felt better than new on the ride home. Will be going back for new new shocks and struts as soon as I need them!

Ive taken my old truck a few times to have a problem (or two) solved and 9th street has always gotten the job done professionally. I did have an awkward situation last time in which I discovered my license plate and its hard-plastic holder were lightly damaged. ( I know it wasnt like that when I dropped it off since I was staring at my ate remembering that I need to order new tag stickers!). I brought it to their attention the next day and I could tell that they were dubious over the issue and whether it was a pre-existing condition (it truly wasnt). I doubt there was any Ill intent, I just think that a mechanic parked it way too close, obviously, to some obstacle. Regardless, they took the high road, ordered me a replacement holder and straightened out my plate, all without charge. I suppose they didnt have to do that, they took me at my word, and for that I applaud them.Its clear that they are trustworthy AND they do some quality repair work. Trust them, you wont be disappointed.

I dont like taking my vehicles to mechanics, we usually do the work ourselves. With that being said, its getting old working on them! Took my very unique car here to have t-case replaced, and I am so happy! Steve even did a bunch of researched on my car just to be sure it was done correctly!! They did so great and with a very reasonable price and on time. Steve and Toni are the best and now my other vehicle is down there as I type this being taken care of. Even found a huge issue that I wouldnt have found until it fell apart probably wrecking my whole SUV in the process. Called the shop up (and spoke with Steve) on a Friday evening, was scheduled for Monday morning. Dropped my truck off because I was having difficulties with the shifter. It wouldnt fully go into park and would roll if I wasnt careful. Toni was so gracious and gave me a ride back home. She even came and picked me up when my truck was ready. They fixed the issue the same day and it cost me less than $200. Super happy and I will definitely be back should any more issues arise. I definitely recommend this place. My experience with 9th st Auto was Perfect to say the least. I needed to have installed a Blue OX tow bar package on my Nissan Versa car. The owner Stephen was friendly and very knowledgeable. He gave me assurance and peace of mind about the installation process. The installation was excellent and the price was considerably less than what several RV dealers wanted. Stephens installer went over every detail of the install and answered all the questions I had. Stephen went over the details of the hookup to the RV and the safety precautions I should be aware of.I couldnt be happier and would recommend them to anyone.Robert Lawless.

This is not your typical auto repair shop experience! The people are very friendly and very accommodating. They are all about customer service! I’ve never seen any other auto shop lobby that looks more like a hotel lobby than this. It’s very clean and comfortable. You can feel how much pride they take in what it is they do!

They fixed a mouse nest that had penetrated into the airbox of my Expedition. Gave me non toxic neutralizing spray for the mouse odor, applied a metal filter instead of the manufacturers plastic one (that the mouse chewed through) and did whatever they could (knowing from personal experience from a similar problem) to help prevent the same problem from recurring. Had several jobs done here over the years from transmissions, to oil changes to rear differential work. They warranty the work, too. Jobs are best I’ve seen in the area and it’s reasonably priced. Would go here over my dealership. My ride is my pride so I don’t trust shops with it, usually.I have work coming up there again, actually. (Timing cover seal, water pump and oil change) Expecting “good as new” quality as usual.EDIT: Work was completed. Looks like brand new! Great work.

The team at 9th St. Auto is my familys auto shop of choice. Theyve worked on our Chevy truck and our BMW car. Over the years, we used four other mechanics in Bend prior to trying 9th St. and havent looked back. Theyre fast, fair and when Ive had a previously repaired item fail, although only once, theyve fixed it for free without hassle. Theyve also not tried to pile on the unnecessary repairs when we take it in. And theyre close to the house!

Ive never been treated that badly. We needed a new transmission for the RV we were temporarily living in. We took it in and they agreed and ordered it in. We brought it back early and the transmission came in (several days late) and they installed it. We drove it off and it worked for about 10 miles before it stopped working right. Called them from the side of the road (heading on a prescheduled trip) and they said tough luck bring it back Monday. So our plans got postponed and we brought it back Monday. They had it all week and did NOTHING. A week later they finally ordered a new one to be end at the end of the week. So basically after a MONTH of not having a place to live it might be done. Which makes no difference because we are leaving town and just have to pack it up and hope it sells.They never once apologized, called to give us an update, or did anything helpful.

While traveling through Bend, my truck became undriveable. A friend, whom I was visiting, suggested 9th Street Auto. While waiting my turn to check-in I saw and heard how customers at the counter and on the phone were treated by Gordon...had me feeling good about the way that I might be treated. My turn came, I explained my situation. Gordon told me that they were really busy...it might be as long as three days, but theyd try to squeeze me in as soon as possible. An early morning call on the second day told me it was done.I had showed up without an appointment, I live 125 miles away so Im not likely to be a regular customer, and yet,they still took the job and completed it much quicker than Id expected. Mike at Sunriver diagnosed a bad transmission with @3400 repair price. It cost me $55.00 Gorden fixed the loose clip for $61.00 Car runs great! Honest mechanic who knows what they are doing!!!

Walked into the office and waited for someone to help me while waiting another gentleman walked in and after five minutes or so he leaves I wait 15 minutes and then 8 left without ever seeing a soul . The office and waiting room are the nicest I have ever seen in a transmission shop, they just need office help ! Hopefullythe shop is better staffed.

Have received excellent service on our Yukon . Work was completed in a timely manner and cost was reasonable. They are my go to car repair garage.

They are the worst, so i wrote a bad review... For that, they posted that I never was there customer and that there was no record, and then they called me DAILY, asking me to let them take another look at my car again or remove my review... After almost a month, I removed my first review, but people need to know that they will harass you if you leave a bad review... I literally had to change my number! PS. All of their positive reviews are FAKE for sure.

9th Street Auto has earned my trust. On two occasions, they have actually saved me money through proper diagnosis and simple fixes. Most recently, my Excursion had a coolant leak, turns out it was a simple job to replace a bad hose clamp. Its rare to find an honorable auto repair service. On another occasion they caught a bulging lower radiator hose that was close to failing. I was about to take a trip over to the Oregon coast, I doubt I would have made it there and back without an incident. Attention to detail is what separates good repair shops from great, and they fall into the great category for me. Ive taken both mine and my wifes vehicles to them for years. They are very knowledgeable and professional. Im a former Navy jet mechanic and Im very particular about who works on my vehicles. I trust 9th Street to take care me.

This place charged me 30.00 bucks just to walk out side and listen to a noise on my truck thats ridiculous they will not get my business again

Terrible first impression. Called to make an appointment to bring my car in, no one answered, left a message, no one called back. Called again, made appointment, dropped the car off at 8am, never heard from anyone, called at 2pm to see if I could pick my car up, picked it up, no estimate for repairs, told me they would the estimate to me the next day, next day goes by no estimate, wait until 3pm the next day still no estimate so I call, wait on hold for 20 minutes, talk to the guy and he says he will have the estimate to me the next day.....right. Then he asks me what kind of transmission do I have? In case you need to know more I finally got a price range that was the highest (by a wide margin) from two other shops in town.

These guys are beyond experts. Gordon is the manager there, and kept me informed the entire time, kept the price down and hooked me up on an engine swap.

Steve quoted me one price on the phone and then raise the price for no reason when I brought my vehicle in.What a load of Brown Sugar!
