I have taken my cars to Import Performance for the last few years, but my recent experience was amazing. Two days before I was supposed to move out of state, my car broke down with seemingly little chance of being repaired before I moved. Based on my description of the problem, they had an alternator overnighted without even looking at the car with the assumption that was the problem. It turns out that was exactly it and I had my car the next day and in time for the move. That level of customer service and empathy for my situation really made Import Performance stand out. I am so grateful for their professional service!

I have an old German truck and a Japanese car. These folks take care of both. I always have faith in their judgement. Theyve fixed some unusual problems for me. Really nice people. I can replace most businesses who do most things for me. But Id be at a loss replacing Import Performance.

This is truly the best shop in town! Gabe is kind, honest, AND an expert mechanic, and his amazing team follows suit. The guys at the front desk are so knowledgeable and patient! I always leave feeling taken care of, and with a better understanding of what my vehicle is going to need down the road. We currently have 2 Toyotas and a Nissan that all have over 180,000 miles. Their prices may be a little higher than some other shops in town, but in my opinion (and experience), you get what you pay for, and Import Performance will ultimately save you $ in the long run. We are customers for life!

After being underwhelmed by the responsiveness of the local dealer, I decided to give Import a try for my cars routine maintenance. The fact they have a plug in hybrid loaner in addition to some off road oriented engine swaps showcased on their website shows theyre willing to work on the whole range of vehicles out there. They have reasonable prices for services performed, did not make me feel pressured into extra services, and I feel the additional items they did suggest after inspection were in good faith. I have to make mention of their Covid precautions - my service was entirely contactless which I appreciate in the midst of a pandemic. I will be returning to Import Performance for maintenance.

We brought the car in for an oil change and to check out a suspicious sound. The sound turned out to be a failing front axel. We had plans to meet friends at Mount Bachelor for a ski the next day. Import got the repair done in record time! By mid-morning the next day, we were on the road and off to the trails! Hero status for the Import Performance team!

John and the Import Performance team are very knowledgeable about foreign cars. I wouldnt trust anyone but them with my 1990 Jaguar XJS V12. John always explains what needs to be done and provides explanations that a non-car person can understand. He is also very responsive to my texts many times responding on Sundays and at night. I find their prices fair and reasonable. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

My check engine light went on one evening and I was able to get my VW in the shop the following day, picked it up a day later. KC was very helpful and honest- he went thru the issues my car was facing and the best way to fix it. He was funny too. We lived in CO for three years and took both our 07 BMW X5 and 1982 Land Cruiser to these guys. We love them! On a recent trip over the mountains had some issues with the X5 - they fit us in on super short notice and took great care of us. They are friendly and communicative, no surprises. Weve had nothing but great experiences with Import Performance Auto Repair since we bought a used 2012 VW Jetta. They did a very thorough inspection of the car after we bought it and clearly described the work that needed to be done and what work could wait until a later date. We just brought it in for them to check on some strange noises coming from the vehicle and they identified the problem and took care of it very promptly and professionally. Well definitely continue to take our VW to Import Performance Auto.

We were grateful that this shop was available to take our Sprinter Van in one week before we were supposed to leave on a 3 week road trip. Their shop is very nice and big, very clean and organized, which maybe explains their slightly inflated prices. They did great work and got the van done just one day after we were supposed to leave, on a Friday afternoon. Then THIS happened which prevents us from giving them 5 stars: we called in our payment via credit card then quickly scrambled to pack up our car to go pick up the van. It turns out our card was declined because the bill was over our $2500 daily limit. We were in bad cell coverage so we didn’t get the voicemail from Import until 5:45pm and by that time they had already left, locked the van back into the shop and said we couldn’t pick it up until Monday. This was a majorly missed customer service opportunity. They could have easily left a cell phone number for us to call over the weekend, knowing we were meant to leave the day before and planning to come pick up the van. Our timeline was totally thrown off after this fail and we had to scrap our plans including prepaid bike rides and house rentals. When we did pick up the van on Monday the guy at the front desk didn’t get it all, which is even more concerning to me. All in all we feel confident in the repair work, they are just seriously lacking in quality customer service.

I would 100% recommend Import Performance for car repair needs.Ive used other shops in town and had issues, which led to new issues and more issues still. Explanations were unclear and suggested services often felt shady at best.At Import Performance that has NOT been the case. Ive been responded to quickly and professionally, with detailed explanations and pictures of any suggested repair/maintenance need. Prices may be a bit higher than some shops, but I have confidence and full trust in their work and the old saying you get what you pay for rings true here.They work on my 2013 Tacoma and 2008 Acura MDX and I trust them completely. Ill continue to take both vehicles there and the only reason I wouldnt is if I had a new vehicle under warranty.Loaner cars, rides, etc. are available to make sure your experience is as painless as possible. The best option Im aware of for Auto Repair in Central Oregon.

My 2001 4Runner was having some challenges (to put it lightly) and although it was a large tab, it was well worth it because I really trust their thorough analysis and safety check. For all of the work that was done, I appreciated that they looked for used parts to save me money where I could and also had sound advice on my options. Tristan was proactive in communicating and the free loaner car made dealing with the situation a breeze. Just remember to fill it up with gas ;) I give this business an A+ and highly recommend.

I brought my new to me car in to do a full inspection. Was going to have the shop do the work on the car. Until I realized I was getting taken for a ride!! Wanted to replace parts and do work that wasnt needed! I felt the guy that looked at my car was COMPLETELY dishonest!! Said I needed a whole new break system. Over $700! Took to an honest shop later. Charged a $100 to fix the problem..

I brought my 1998 jaguar to Jack and his team a couple of months ago with AC problems. Even with the unavailability of parts they were able to successfully repair the extensive issues with the internal valving in the system. They were very fair in their charges and communicated well during the time it took to complete the work. I highly recommend these guys

You’ve heard of the expression you get what you pay for Important Per. is 1-2 steps above other mechanic shops, they are a little bit more expensive but the quality of work and parts coupled with the 47 Point Vehicle safety Inspection will not allow you to have a recurring break down . I use to deliver auto parts for NAPA Auto Parts and Import Performance was NAPAs top vendor, I noticed that they always ordered top shelf parts for their repairs

I rolled into Bend from Springfield with a rough running engine on a Friday afternoon. I called Import Performance and got right in. I was greeted with professionalism and competence. All repairs and costs were explained thoroughly and done in the time promised. I highly recommend this trustworthy shop.

They keep my car in tip top running condition and remind me when services are needed. I have complete confidence in their servicing and repair work. I have been sending my two cars there for 10 years.

Been taking my Jeep and Audi to these guys for about a year now. Cant say enough positive things about the whole outfit. Everything just works so damn well, and smoothly. From the service managers you deal with directly, to Jack the Operations Manager to the helpers who bring your car around when you come to pick it up, everyone here is clearly committed to making your experience a positive one. They even have loaners cars if needed. Of course, all of this awesomeness does not come cheap. Dont go here if you are expecting the lowest repair prices. Lower than the dealers of course, but if you need cheap, look elsewhere. But be prepared to suffer the downsides of working with a company that doesnt charge enough to hire talented people who strive to provide a phenomenal service.

These guys are the best in the Central Oregon area for getting work done on your car. Their Fair, honest, affordable and realistic on time and costs for repairs. My final Bills have twice (Used them a dozen times?) been less than quoted when they realized the problem wasnt what was originally what they thought and another time they found a equivalent part at a cheaper price. Thats a good sign your dealing with honest people and the work has always been more than satisfactory. I wish more people ran businesses this professional and customer oriented. Cant recommend enough.

Tried to charge 300.00 more than what they paid for a carb we had replaced. Took 15 minutes if very disagreeable discussion to get it changed. Hope all that go there check their parts hills for mark up. Won’t return. Shame as they did really good work for us before and this time too.

Have brought BMW Mercedes and now Jeep SUVs to Import Performance in Wilmington for the past 5 years. Recommend to my clients frequently (Im in residential real estate) as a fantastic alternative to the dealerships.Theyre professional, have integrity, and consistently provide a high level of service.Theyre waiting area is comfy with sodas, coffee and snacks. Theres also a desk to work at while using their WIFI. For longer service they have a couple of loaner cars. Not great cars but thats understandable since they have good prices compared to the dealerships.They are also dog friendly and will get fresh water for the pup.

They know what they are doing when it comes to servicing Imports. Expensive labor but worth it. They also have loaners if you are in a pinch and need to get around

I have zero complaints about the service or quality of work performed, the few times that Ive taken my vehicles there. Everyone has been polite, knowledgable and professional. The facility is very clean. They have a good reputation. On the other hand, its my opinion that their good reputation and popularity has enabled them to overcharge for their services, and I cant afford to take my vehicle to them again.I brought my Toyota in today with 2 issues; dash lights and an annoying rattle under the car while accelerating at certain speeds. I signed off on an estimate of 2 hours worth of work, which I thought would be a maximum in case they couldnt diagnose right the problems right away. The lights that were on were the traction control and check engine. A day earlier, I had taken my truck to OReilly and they hooked up their scanner and gave me the codes for free in a few minutes. Its a 4Runner and seemed like a common issue, but with many possible causes. So I was hoping to not spend any more of my time investigating it and take it to a shop that I thought would have the experience to get to the root issue quickly and with certainty. A whole hour with an experienced technician working on the problem seemed like a good investment.Import Performance charged me for the full hour labor, didnt even tell me what the specific error codes were, and recommended that I change the gas cap, as a starting point. I already knew this, from OReilly and Google, for free. I was hoping for a little more for $114.They fixed the rattle problem which Im thankful for, and that also cost $114 plus parts (1 hose clamp) and recycling. Both of these things cost the same 1 hour each in labor. Im sorry, but I thought what I approved when I dropped of my car was for labor if it ended up taking that long, not a minimum base cost. So what that tells me and should tell you, is if I give them pre-authorization for xx dollars, they will gladly take it and then some. I literally paid $114 for less than I already knew with the dash light issue. It takes 2 minutes to hook up the scanner and read the codes, which is what they did, and all I got was a lets try a new gas cap. The battery tested low and they wanted to replace that too, but that information would have been covered under the free 47 point vehicle safety inspection.So, yeah, good people working there, but this experience left me feeling ripped off and from now on I will go elsewhere for my import mechanical needs. $236 to fix a rattle and tell me what I already knew. I think management/owners are pushing it.

Dont Stand Behind Their Work. In Oct 2013, I spent $1,470 at this shop to fix a variety of things on my 1999 Toyota truck. One thing they fixed was a squeaky clutch pedal. This fix was fairly expensive, but they assured me at the time that it would solve the problem. Now in Aug 2014, the clutch pedal is squeaking badly again. So, I brought it in to see what they could do, figuring they would be concerned that their earlier fix lasted less than 10 months. Instead, they wanted to charge me $45 just to diagnose the current problem. They clearly had no interest in standing behind their prior work.

I moved to Bend a few months ago and needed to find a mechanic. My old mechanic(in Missoula, MT) was honest, friendly, affordable but more importantly, listened to the customer. Import Performance was none of these. They provided me the most frustrating, overpriced, and dissatisfying repair experience of my life. There were multiple issues.I went Import Performance to have a repair done on my FJ Cruiser due to a problem shifting into 4wd. In 2013 & 2015 I replaced a relay switch that had failed. Both times the issue was the same. It was diagnosed AND replaced at a cost of $150 per repair ($100 parts, $50 labor). I called Import to explain the problem and schedule an appointment. I told the tech I had a similar issue two other times and that both times the same relay switch had been to culprit. The technician said that he doubted it was the same problem but that they would check it out and scheduled me for a 9am appointment the next day.I arrived the next morning and spoke with another employee at Import when I dropped my car off. I told him (different employee) that I believed the issue was specific relay and even provided him with the part number they would need. He told me the same thing, that he highly doubted that was the issue but that they would check it out. I left my car and was told I would be called around noon.At 2:30, having yet to hear from them, I called to check on the progress. I was informed that they were just getting to my car and would call as soon as it was done. When 4:00 rolled around, I still had not heard from them so I called again. I was told that they were finished and to come pick up my vehicle (gee, thanks for calling...oh wait, they didnt). I arrived at 4:15 to find out that my truck was indeed finished. The catch? The only thing Import had done was diagnose the problem. The problem? A relay switch had failed. The same relay switch that two different employees previously stated wasnt the issue. Import charged me $100 to tell me what I already knew and the problem was still not fixed. They had no intention of even fixing it that day. Irritated at the lack of communication, I insisted they fix it since they had already had my car for a full day. Luckily their supplier was still open and able to deliver the part I needed. They finally finished my vehicle at 5:30 pm and charged me an additional $194. The total cost was now $294. I had the same exact switch replaced TWICE for a total of $300. Since they did not fix after diagnosing, they essentially charged me double for the labor since they did same job twice. I felt they did this intentionally. Thats like going for surgery cause you have a tumor, getting operated on, only to wake up to the Dr saying, yep, its a tumor. Its bad but I put it back in. I know you told me to fix it but I wanted to operate twice so I can charge double.To recap:1. Two employees said I was wrong about what needed done, I wasnt. To add insult to injury, my receipt noted very common failure for FJ Cruisers2. I had an appointment at 9am. They didnt even start till 2:30 AND never called when finished like stated. I had to call them, twice. Every mechanic Ive ever used had called with the diagnosis, then fixes the problem. They failed to call me even after I was told two different times that they would. To be clear, they had to access the relay switch to test it. Instead of calling to vefiry I wanted it fixed, they reassembled and put the bad switch back in. I feel they did this so they could charge me two times for the same labor. $100 to diagnose and then $80 to repair.3. I was charged $100 to be told the issue was exactly what I said it was.4. I provided the part number needed at 9am, yet when I arrived at 4:15, the repair had not been done. They had my car from 8 1/2 hours for a 1 hour fix.5. I paid $180 in labor...for one hour of work. Import charged me more in just labor than my previous mechanic charged for both labor & parts ($150).
