Curbside pickup service is trash. We ordered strings and went to pick them up the flowing day after ready. No one responded to the chat. Then the order wasnt even ready. They handed the strings out the door with no bag. Just trash.

She forgot to count the BLACK NOTESYOU BE THE JUDGE:Was the keyboard damaged in transit or was it already damaged when shipped?The following account is true -When the young lady at this Guitar Center in Baton Rouge La. picked the phone on the evening of 10/12/21 and was asked by the sales person calling from Connecticuts Guitar Center, is the workstation a Nautilus and how many keys was it ... she came back and said 52!The 3 of us said in unison 52!Her realizing that we were confused went back and counted again and then returned with the answer of 88.Her error, as she stated, was because she didnt count the BLACK NOTES!Of course, with all three of us being BLACK, we were sarcastically offended.Oh thats just the beginning of the story ...So the two pics below are the KORG NAUTILUS 88 KEYS WORKSTATION.The clear one is what most ads post of this unit. The other one is what the store in BATON ROUGE La had posted on their website.As you can tell, its very pixelated.So my sales person said to her, is this a Nautilus... do you see the logo on the right? She replied yes. Then he said, whats the condition is it in? she replied, its in excellent condition.He turned to me and said do you want me to order it?I quickly responded yes because the price was $1900.99(see pic of order) a new 61 note Nautilus (counting the BLACKS) goes for $2,200! So yes was my answer.I was returning a YAMAHA YC88 KEYBOARD that I purchased from the Nashua NH store a month earlier. So the refund would well cover that low price. A new Nautilus 88 note (counting the BLACKS) goes for $3,100So I returned home happy but unsettled because the pic was so blurry and she didnt seem to know much about keyboards ...So I called the store as a new buyer and asked about the same ad. She said it was available and in excellent condition, to which I replied, can you take picture of it and text it to me? She said, no I cant do that ...I hung up .. and called back again and asked about the keyboard, like I was another buyer, (not thinking of caller ID) and she replied, Its not ready yet!So I am really uneasy now ... but I waited, 7 long ground shipping days ...UGH!On delivery day I am approaching the store to pick up my package and Guitar Center CT calls me as I am turning into the driveway.I tell him my location ... but he sounds morbid ... I say to him, did she send the wrong keyboard? He says no, its the right keyboard, but it is totally destroyed!Banged up, keys bent in and a gash in the middle of it!When I get inside he tells me that they shipped in a thin card board box with bubble wrap!I was relieved that I didnt have it shipped to my studio, because that might of created more problems for me.I was sooooo disappointed ... I really wanted that keyboard ( not because of the BLACKS ..LOL!)I watched videos of it and was so ready to bring it into my family ... : (Well this was my first bad experience with Guitar Center.I absolutely love the store ... But this was a very strange experience.MORAL OF THE STORY: Things are much cheaper when you dont count the BLACKS! I had a great time here! I played some guitars, and I bought some strings.The clerk was accommodating; she told me a funny story; some master criminals managed to break into the store by climbing onto the roof and getting into the ceiling using a piece of string, they lifted guitars off the top rack. It was an amusing story.I had a great time here, good people, I highly recommend this Guitar Center location!Thanks,-Daniel

This is a terrible location. I see videos all the time of people at their local guitar Center that’s fully stocked with the latest cool gear to mess around with. This one however, Has almost nothing in the way of drum and keyboard gear. Almost Nothing out on the floor to play around with. One or two great keyboards and the rest are just low end toys. And it’s been this way for a while. So disappointed every time I go. Shame

Bought three Shure Mics. One was not working. Tried to return to the store but since it wasn’t in the 45 day window (it was 60 days) they would t take it back. Contacted Shure directly and they are replacing g for free. Really wanted to support local store but very unhappy with the customer service so I’ll just order off of Amazon and not this store. Unfortunately when a business makes it hard for the customer there’s no incentive to shop there. Amazon is better.

My son has piano lessons with Mr. Bob and hes very close to being able to read sheet music because of his expert teaching skill. I love how welcoming the people are in Guitar Center and theyre always ready to answer any questions with a smile 😁

The Baton Rouge location has such knowledgeable and friendly staff. And they are skilled enough musicians to be able to intelligently answer questions and offer helpful suggestions. Love shopping there.

Second time I’ve went to this location for an item that was supposedly in stock. First time was for a Taylor Acoustic this time for the Akai MPK MKII for $60. They didn’t have it (shocker) but they had an open box MPK mini play available that come to find out was used for store demo. Waited around for roughly 20 minutes while the first guy was trying to figure out price and how much he could take off since it was dirty, had some cosmetic wear etc. After taking a closer look at the keys, three of them were bent in the wrong direction likely from kids pushing the keys way too hard. At this point it should be considerably reduced especially since literally online they have the EXACT model in a different store that’s used in “great” condition for $70. So I guess the manager Dalton or something along those lines comes and tells me he can offer it for $100 with the condition that I CANT RETURN IT! 😂 because “I don’t really want/have to sell it since it’s kinda used for demos and we have plenty in box to sell you” …. Yet it was sitting in a glass case with other poorly taken care of used equipment to be sold? I respectfully said I’ll hold off and thanks for the offer, nice people but what a joke man.The older guy beside me drove all the way out there for a specific item that someone verified they had over the phone and told him they’d set it aside for him and they didn’t have it 🤣

The Guitar Center was easy to find and they offered good parking close to their store. We were able to shop in the store and find the replacement strings for the guitar that we were looking for very easily. Upon entering we were greeted by their friendly and helpful staff. The guy asked if we were looking for anything in particular and helped us locate the items we had visited the store to buy. He helped to make our shopping trip easier, faster, and less stressful by showing us where to find items and answering any of the questions we had about replacing parts on our guitar. Guitar Center is a great place to shop and we will be visiting their store again soon.

Best shopping experience I’ve ever had. DJ went above and beyond, exceeding any expectations I could have had walking in. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and knowledge! He was very busy, helping one person after the next, but by his attitude and the way he promptly gave 110% to every single person he talked to, you wouldn’t even know it. It was my first time here in a long time, but I will be back again much sooner! 12/10, will recommend.

Mask mandate is over but they still require them in there store. Practically jump on you before you can get in the store. From looking at the shrinking size of the store and inventory they could use all the business they can get and management has pretty much run it into the ground.. Went in to spend 2,500 to 3,000 dollars on a new Les Paul. They have the right to require them but I also have the right to spend my money elsewhere. Guess its off to the local shops that still appreciate the business. Goodbye guitar center. You lost a 25 year customer. I wont be back

Well I brought 100 worth of stuff I didnt need and the employee whim check us out help us make a decision on the expensive items that im hoping to get a refund on... So thanks a lot... But its a great store for music and instruments just make sure your getting the right stuff... Oh yeah dont forget the arm or leg for the cost of your instrument and accessories....lol

I ordered a Gibson les Paul studio online, when my guitar arrived it looked like everyone and there brothers handled it and played it so that told me I bought a used guitar hanging on the wall at new price, I ordered this guitar online because I wanted a new one but obviously that’s not how they do business that was the second time the first time I ordered a pastie 2001 ride cymbal and paid full price for it also and receive a used cymbal so the Les Paul was my last purchase from guitar Center.

Riley, the guitar tech at Guitar Center, is great! He took the time to understand what I wanted in a setup and help me customize my humbucking pick-up to sound more like a hum-canceling single coil. He filed down the nut on my guitar perfectly. He adjusted the action so that it was low but not too low like most guitar techs adjust the action. Hes a great guitar tech and I will recommend to anyone in the area looking to have their guitar worked on.

Guitar Center was probably never more than a 3 star kind of place but its gotten much worse in the last few years due to competition from online retailers. Their prices are still pretty good but if you have to order something it will take a while. You can get the same thing often online within a day or two. Some of the reps are cool but some are kind of snotty. They do not like doing the curbside service they advertise on their website. I tried doing that because I have really bad allergies and cant breathe with a mask on. They didnt want to do the curbside but I finally got them to agree to it, but they said it might take a day or so for them to receive the order online even though it was for an item they had in stock. Screw that. I ordered the Alesis keyboard I was going to buy there instead on Amazon, same price. I went in the other day because I wanted to buy a new guitar. I found i can get through wandering around a store if I wear the mask below my nose. Most businesses are ok with that. Not the kids at guitar center. Wouldnt let me in unless I pulled the mask up over my nose. Geez, I understand Corona and all, but I think they are way over the top paranoid about this stuff. Most strict mask policy of any business Ive been to. No thanks. Turned around and ordered the guitar I wanted, in the color I wanted, instead of settling for the colors they had there, and cheaper too. No thanks. Done with these peeps unless I need guitar strings.

What a great experience! The manager, Riley was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to get the bass I wanted, clean it up, AND put strings on it. I had no clue what i was getting but, that wasnt a problem since he really knows his stuff. Selection was good. I was in there for about 40 minutes, no one ever asked if I needed anything. I had to interrupt an employees conversation (after waiting for several minutes for them to stop) to ask where the restroom was. When I was ready to check out, no one was at the register.

I visited to pick up some reeds and appreciated that this store was open until 8 PM, on Saturday. My call to verify the availability of reeds was received cheerfully and the store clerk physically located them to assure me of this fact. This conscientiousness contributed to my confidence toward doing business with them. Of course, this is primarily a guitar, drum, and electronic music store, but the fact that they do carry band instruments with accessories is a bonus. The store is nicely organized and the staff seemed to be knowledgeable. The only reason I did not rate them 5 stars is that although helpful, the clerk who assisted me found the most expensive package of reed brand I requested instead of allowing me to see the more budget-friendly package. It wasnt really a big deal, but enough to lower my rating a bit. I will shop there again and know to ask a few more questions before buying, the next time.

The staff here really know there stuff. Normally I dont ask many questions, but once they commented on my selection they talked me into a lower priced sensible purchase. Never once replied I dont know about any equipment questions, and make you feel comfortable about asking.
