I really cant get over how fantastic every dish is!! The fact that I can eat just about everything is insane, and I dig it. Gluten-free dairy free... picnik has the dish for you... off Brussel sprouts are to die for, the queso is out of this world, chicken fried chicken is most and delectable. Accommodated me and 9 friends for my bday!

Ordered the paleo salmon, and it was completely raw in the center. We tried to show the staff and the waiter was understanding in that they were helpful in getting a new dish, but inferred that non-sushi grade salmon can be served in a raw manner. I felt my concerns were not heard about the undercooked salmon. When the replacement was brought out, it was the proper color and obviously cooked the right way. I was told upon expressing my concerns about the first salmon that they were “sorry if I didn’t like it prepared that way”. Not the best experience. Worried about potential salmonella cases if this is repeated.

This place just isn’t what it use to be. I’ve always gotten this same dish- farmhouse breakfast or all American breakfast dish. I think the name changed. Since, the pandemic things have changed a bit. It’s no longer served with the super yummy sauce they use to serve the potatoes with, the toast is significantly smaller, and the egg portion is clearly smaller! They use to season the eggs really well and now sadly it’s just a basic scrambled egg. I miss the lovely parsley they use to garnish it with. This time around the bacon wasn’t thoroughly cooked and it just looked overly greasy. The service is always very slow. Takes a while to get your drink. Never the less, staff is always pleasant.

The setting/vibe is great. Modern and farmhouse style design however the food really isn’t up to par.In terms of foodMy avocado toast was quite delicious but the portion was way too small for $11. Fish tacos were dry and mushy. My friend ordered the farmhouse plate and after trying it it tasted extremely mediocre. Honestly, Denny’s and IHOP would be better.Overall, it’s an aesthetic place with extremely “meh” food accompanied by great staff and structure.

Picnik provides a wide array of food options, and all of the things my wife and I have tried are good. Some spectacular while others just good.I would suggest going with server recommendations if it’s your first time or you may not be able to go multiple times. The whole kitchen is gluten free, which is huge since my wife has a severe allergy. They also handle other allergies and concerns extremely well. Very professional and competent staff that work hard to make meals even more enjoyable and comfortable.

A brightly-lit restaurant with modern decor and a quirky, interesting menu. My friends and I ordered the Harvest Hash and the Picnik Melt. The poached eggs and sausage were great on the hash! The Picnik Melt was also extremely tasty. Our cappuccinos were good, but overly creamy—we’d have liked them to taste a bit more coffee-esque. In general it was a good experience, only wished the hash was a little less sweet, and that the portions were a bit larger for the price.

My doctor recently put me on a very restrictive elimination diet which left me with few options for my birthday dinner. I explained to the staff my situation and they actually brought a full list of ingredients of all the menu items out to the table so we could discuss options. They made some accommodations to the pan-seared salmon entrée so that I could have an enjoyable meal for my birthday, and to top it off, they brought out a complementary dessert that fit within my dietary restrictions. I know it was a pain to adapt to my situation on the fly, but they went out of their way to make it happen, and were so nice about it too. I was so impressed!

Ive really enjoyed their avocado toast with an egg in the past, butt this time I was in the mood for something different. I ordered the bibimbap, with an egg, and added tofu also.It seemed super expensive, and when it came I was disappointed and started complaining to my wife about the 5 pretty small pieces of tofu for $5.But then I started eating and the flavors exploded in my mouth. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the tofu was a wonderful addition. By the end I had to admit it was totally worth it, and Ill be ordering it again!

Reason for 3 stars is for the service. Our waiter was not attentive to us just the other tables. I had to ask the hostess to get the waiter for us just to take our initial drink orders. He didn’t even check in us when our food came out. He either was overwhelmed that day or he didn’t like our skin color shade. Please talk to your staff about that because I can bet that wasn’t the first time this male waiter did that.

I took my friend here for a birthday brunch and we had an amazing experience. Neither of us can have gluten so this place was perfect!First off, let me start by saying that I love that I was able to make a reservation, in my phone, and through Google! The restaurant has a nice modern look to it and the staff was great upon our arrival. We were not able to sit outside but thats okay.At the recommendation of our server, Amanda, I had a vanilla latte with collagen that was delicious! My friend and I also shared the muffin basket which went well with our coffee. For our meal, I had the Harvest Hash which was and yummt combo of sweet and spicy. It was so filling that I couldnt eat all of it. My friend had the Smoked Salmon Toast which was a gluten-free take on locks and bagels which she said was great and also very filling for the small portion that it was.Overall, it was great and we will definitely be back!

My partner and I love trying a new Austin restaurant every week. Picnik was a huge disappointment at every turn. My latte tasted burnt and bitter, and the spinach artichoke dip appetizer had a very odd anchovy and lemon flavor — like it was a hot Cesar salad spinach dip? I’m not sure, but it was off putting.I got the classic breakfast with eggs over medium and received two fully cooked yolks and the “smashed potatoes” seemed to be just a bag of H‑E‑B new potatoes that were smashed with a bacon press until literally burned black. The final knife in the back was when our check came and we realized when the waiter asked if we wanted more chips for the spinach dip, we were charged $2 extra for a tiny teacup of chips and all we could do was laugh ourselves out of the joint after wasting almost $70.

Both the inside and outside of Picnik has a put-together look. Very modern. The Sunday brunch menu had plenty of options to choose from, nothing too out of the ordinary. We ordered the farmhouse breakfast; a meal of bacon, eggs, potatoes, and a bread (biscuit and pancake). It lacked any flavors of the south and/or comfort. They’re big on using “healthy” alternative ingredients which I can support, but the execution wasn’t good. Everything except the eggs, and bacon (which was surprising super fatty - hopefully they choose a meatier selection) tasted like diet recipes when trying to find an alternative to indulgent food. The pancakes were pretty rigid with semi-sweet maple syrup. The syrup was satisfactory, and the pancake was cardboard in texture and taste. The gravy had way too many flavors going on for it being anything like southern biscuits and gravy. It was like a bowl of too many seasonings yet didn’t taste like much. Bread tasted like low-carb-bread replacements from the store. Potatoes had a sage/thyme flavor that was overpowering the potato that my partner finished them for me. No one wants to give up their potatoes! It was sad. I went in super optimistic and came out full of calories, $60 less in my pocket, and mega disappointed. Waited 45 minutes after ordering for the meal. No one even came by during that time to check on us. I saw staff standing around, so they weren’t too busy not to check on us at least once. If youre into fad diets like paleo and keto this might be the place for you. If you want actual southern food this is not the place. As someone who was raised in the Deep South and uses these same “healthy alternatives” on a regular basis this was really bad. I would not go back here.

Been here many times and I always leave highly satisfied! I always start off by getting the Loaded Guacamole. It is amazing and definitely one of my favorites in Austin! It is thick in texture and creamy. The sweetness of the Apple and the flavor of the cilantro is a perfect combo that makes it delicious.Whether youre feeling hungry for breakfast or for lunch, there are many options. My favorites are the Chicken Tenders and French Toast. I would compare the nuggets to a fresh farm-to-table version of Chick-fil-A nuggets. The honey-mustard aioli dipping sauce is smooth and compliments the nuggets quite well. I recommend asking for an extra side of chipotle aioli which is also a good dipping sauce, kinda spicy, youll feel it tingle in your throat. The French Toast is very sweet and very soft. You can tell its made of fresh ingredients. Craving dessert? Get the Blondie Ice Cream Sandwich. The chocolate flavor is not in your face and allows you to taste the vanilla ice cream, straight from Lick Honest Ice Creams!Overall Im always glad to come. The service is great! Theres usually a small wait, so keep that in mind.
