I first heard about Asia Market on YouTube. Discover Austin with Craig Smyser. He and Michael Zook loved the food. I’m so happy to have come across that video. We soon ordered our meal online and when I went to pick it up, I was happy to see that it was all put in a box which made it easier to carry and drive with it as it also contain free snacks! Thank you! The guy working there putting out the food for a no-contact pickup is really nice and friendly. The food there is so delicious and is now one of our favorites! ❤️We ordered Turnip Cake Bites, Taiwanese Potstickers, Mapo Tofu, Sesame Chicken, and Flat Noodle with Beef. Happy... 😊

A true gem of a local business. Amazing, helpful staff, great selections of groceries at reasonable prices. My family loved their cafe and homemade delish dishes as well but sadly that is suspended due to fallout from the pandemic. Really hoping this place pulls through.

If you have a favorite dish at Panda Express, do not bother coming here. If you’re in a hurry and want something fast, also stay clear of this place. But if you’re in the mood to try something authentic, something made with patience and pride, by all means check this place out; you will find something on this menu that you like. What this gem lacks in ambiance that a typical restaurant setting could provide, it makes up for it with delicious, well thought out dishes that will warm your belly and excite your palate.Pro tip: this is a family business and they greatly appreciate it when you pay in cash!

NO ONE IS ANSWERING THE PHONE. During the operating hours, I placed a pickup order. Because of the COVID situation, door is locked. When I arrived, I called the number per instruction over and over numerous times, and no one is answering the phone. I can see my order through the glasses. As a result, I had to knock the door/glasses to get the attention of the employees in order to pick up my order. Very unpleasant experience. NOT PLANNING TO PLACE ANY FUTURE ORDER.

My brother in law introduced us to this place and we have enjoyed it. We have had the Marbled Beef w/Red Chili Oil, Gunman Beef Vermicelli Soup, Soupy Dumplings and Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken all really good. The popcorn chicken comes with fried basil which is really good and you really need to try the soupy dumplings.

I dont understand how this place made best 65 restaurants in Austin according to the Statesmen. Food is mediocre at best. We ordered 5 things and only liked 1. For example, the noodle is cooked separate from the broth so theres a separation of flavor.

Asia Market has changed its owner sometime late last year, after the store had been closed for sometime. We went to check it out on our way to another Asian market, and have been their loyal customers since. The reasons are simple: their vegetables are fresh and cheaper, the store is 1/3 the way to the other Asian store, the layout is pleasant and convenient, the dry goods are of good quality, and their fried breadsticks are the best in town!

I really like this place. It is family owned with friendly, casual atmosphere. Its not as big as Ranch 99 or Hmart, but thats whats appealing to me. It has all the basic Asian grocery essentials for a quick trip. The prices are also very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

This is both an Asian grocery store and an Asian restaurant (tables and menu are in the back). We buy fresh vegetables, frozen pot stickers and often order dishes to go. The dishes served are enormous and equally tasty 👌. Sometimes they send you home with a tasty treat for free too 👍.

The owner or the people working there are very rude. I went there on Tuesday and see if they are open for business. I saw a young guy and girl working inside but the door was locked. I peek thru the glass and the workers inside saw me and she gave me a dirty look and gesture me to go away and get lost. I used to shop and eat at the restaurant a lot. I cant believe they treat their customer so badly.

We shop there for bulk spices and such. My honey knows what shes looking for and I follow her looking for new items that are low saturated fat and salt content. FYI If youre shopping with a credit card, they have a minimum 10.00 purchase which I didnt see posted on the entry door. They do have a produce section that has fresh turmeric and ginger.

Recently added their own quick service diner eatery in the back. Completely separate from Asia cafe next door. This place specializes in soup dumplings, other dumplings, soup, noodles that they make onsite. They also have entrees but the noodles and soup are better options.Updated 03Aug2019. Really love the quiet, casual, clean, self service, low key atmosphere of this eatery. Their menu has now been expanded to include more szechuanese entrees. Again, the food is generally on the spicy, full flavored side, which is delicious. Again not affiliated with Asia Cafe next door. Only locals eat here now but that wont last!!

Its a small market and it seems to be kept neat and clean. Its does remind of lower East New York City Chinatown where I grew up. It has a carefully curated selection of soy sauces, cooking wines and vinegars. There are lots of esoteric ingredients for all those strange and wierd Chinese dishes you are unlikely to ever make for yourself. There are frozen potstickers, dumplings and buns. Happily I found some very tasty roasted peanuts. There is a small and humble restaurant in the back. The food is veryey tasty and authentic. I think I will come back often.

The new management really is turning things around from the Asia Market Ive known for years. Prices are the same as other Austin Asian markets (MT, Ranch, Hana, HMart, Hongkong) but Asia Market is a little smaller than the competition and selection can be limited. The cafe in the back is great for dim sum on the weekends, and really is a hidden gem, even amongst the other Asian restaurants in the same plaza. I dont like that Im writing this review on a Monday, and now have to wait until Saturday for some of those soup dumplings.

I love the variety of ingredients I can find when I want to make some of my favorite Asian dishes. The staff is very helpful, answering my questions and showing me where to find items. This trip my goal was to either buy the ingredients to make red curry or to buy it already made. Score I bought some already made to try at home this weekend.
