My son was having car problems while away at OU. No parent likes to hear this…there is a fear that their child will find themselves facing an expensive, unnecessary repair. Sundown found a fast, incredibly inexpensive solution to the problem. Great to know there is a reliable shop in Athens…I may drive down with my other cars when they need service! If you have students in Athens - send them to Sundown when their cars need service.

Danny and the guys at Sundown garage are absolutely the best in Athens! They provide first class service and always strive to keep the cost down. I have used their services multiple times to fix issues in my 2001 Acura TL. They get the work done pretty quickly and offered to drop me off and pick me up again. I was absolutely satisfied with the way they fixed the issues. Danny also threw in a headlamp buffing before he handed me back the keys each time. You’ll be glad you chose to come here.

Dont judge a garage by their location! Those are the people you know take pride in what they do and wont charge you an arm and a leg because they are under a common name. They are super nice people and are willing to take a look at your car before giving you a price quote. My car was making a noise and Danny took the time to drive it around with me and make sure he knew what sound I was talking about. He then looked at the car and found the problem. As it was not going to do anything to my car other than be an annoying sound. He told me that fixing the sound would be very costly. He did this all for free and was happy to help.He fixed my boyfriends car too. Before he brought in his car, his window was intermittantly working. When my boyfriend left the window fell in (no the garages fault, as they never touched the door). He brought it right back so they would help him fix it, and they took an hour out of their time to fix it for free. How amazingWent there again and they had a two week wait time. Danny told me another place to go to have my car looked at, and that if they seemed sketchy to come back to him.

Danny is an honest and talented mechanic and an awesome human being in general. Great to know there is such a great local mechanic when I need one. Try to never go elsewhere unless I have to!

I have on two occasions barely limped in with my 98 Forester and Danny has had me done on a while you wait basis- Im not saying this happens every time, Im sure they would much prefer an appointment-Im just saying the level of responsibility and caring is there on a regular basis, and the car is still humming along- just turned 200,000! with four trips to sunny Florida-they are up front and do top notch work-I heartily recommend them whether you are local or not! Great place for students to get their cars serviced! Fair and Honest Service! Sundown garage was recommended to me by my Mechanical Engineering advisor and after seeing all the positive recommendations I decided to have Danny and Greg help me decide if I should push my car over a cliff and get a new one or if it was worth the money to get the transmission/clutch, wheel bearings, ect. fixed.Turns out, nothing was significantly wrong with my car. Even after I was persistent that there was a transmission/clutch problem, Danny and Greg both assured me that it was just a loose part vibrating and causing all the noise. These guys could have taken thousands of dollars from me and I would have had no way of knowing. But they didnt...even after I was a know-it all telling them how to do their jobs!Beyond the loose part, they did a bunch of extras at no cost.In my 7 years of living in Athens, Ive learned that it is very difficult to find people that havent made it their life goal to take advantage of students inexperience in every possible way. These guys actually care and I couldnt recommend them more.Sundown Garage is a safe place for students!

Ive been preparing for a major surgery recently and, just a couple days away from heading to the hospital and gearing up for a couple months of limited mobility, the check engine light came on and my late model Toyota sedan started to sputter a bit. I needed to get the car checked out quickly because I wanted to make sure that it would be safe to take to and from the hospital. Id never had anything go wrong with the car before and only moved to Athens/OU four years ago so I didnt have a good mechanic. The guys at Sundown were recommended to me and I gave them a call yesterday. Although they were booked solid for days, Danny squeezed me in after hearing about my situation. Not only did they diagnose the car but they replaced the faulty part and it is driving perfectly again. Im quite happy with their friendliness, work, and pricing. I highly recommend Sundown as an honest and fairly priced garage and will be using them for anything car related in the future!
