My experience with The Hearing Guy has been very positive thus far. At our first meeting he began by explaining hearing loss and going from there about what might help me. He spent nearly 2 hours with me and never appeared to be in a hurry. I have had my hearing aids for several days and I’m very pleased with them. I can hear better with these hearing aids than I ever could with my old ones from another source.

I went to The Hearing Guy because it was highly recommended by several of my friends. Dr. Steele gave a great explanation of hearing and hearing aids. He is very professional and personable. He answered all of my questions. I highly recommend.

I am not of an age that would typically need a hearing aid. Knowing this, the Dr. still welcomed me to come and get a free hearing test. When tested, he taught me quite a lot about how the ear works! He gave me a recommendation for a specialist and I left with my test results in hand. He spent a good amount of time with me knowing, from the beginning, that I was not going to buy hearing aids from him. All of this at no cost to me. I was very impressed!

Dr Steele is a very caring and down to earth guy. My mom was somewhat reluctant about needing a hearing aid but Dr Steele eased her mind and showed us how having the right hearing aid could improve her quality of life. He has gone above and beyond what most doctors do, and we are very grateful. Him and his staff are the best and always treat us like family. I had my hearing screened when I accompanied my spouse to his appointment. Dr.Steele explained the process to both of us, provided extensive testing for my spouse and while we both show some normal hearing loss for our ages, neither of us had signifocant deficits and he did not feel that it required the investment in expensive equipment, etc. at this time! He was personable, direct, thorough and honest. A++

I am new to Dr. Brent Steeles practice. Over the last 7 years I have been to 3 audiologists in Asheville trying to figure out hearing aids and their suitability for me. Dr Steele is the ONLY one who took time for adequate education even before he began testing. When I decided on the appropriate choice, he gave me options on what was the best approach to payment. For the record, he was $2,000 less expensive for the same product I tried out 2 years ago. He has been great about making sure I am happy with my choice and being available if I need support.As a Nurse Practitioner I can spot caring and skill when I see it. Dr. Steele has both. I was not excited about the thought of wearing hearing aids. Last year I was referred to Brent at The Hearing Guy. He made it so easy to understand and made sure I was happy with my choice in devices. I have been back twice in the last 18 months and he and his staff have been wonderful! I highly recommend them and have been so glad I took the plunge with the hearing aids! Didn’t want to miss anything, and thanks to them I won’t!

I originally went here for a hearing aid and in the short term, it was a successful noninvasive treatment. Unfortunately, soon after I got the hearing aid, my hearing began deteriorating more drastically and the hearing aid proved ineffective for my medical situation. This has been a very difficult and frustrating time for me and my experience at The Hearing Guy only made it worse.Upon inquiring about a partial refund for the product, it became clear to me that patient well-being was not Dr. Steele’s primary concern. He lacked compassion when it came to my hearing loss and was condescending towards me by comparing my hearing aid to purchasing a washer and dryer and trying to return it a year after the point of sale. I would not recommend The Hearing Guy to someone that values grade-A customer service. I am fairly certain I was stigmatized due to my age.

Ive checked out several audiologists in the Asheville area, and I strongly recommend Dr. Brent Steele, the Hearing Guy on Hendersonville Road. Its refreshing to talk to someone this open and honest about hearing loss and the various devices. He clarified several issues and taught me a great deal. For once, I found an audiologist that didnt make me feel like I was bargaining with a car sales person. I dont know about you, but I need an intelligent audiologist I can trust.

I went in for a hearing checkup and calibration of my hearing aids. The service was excellent, and Dr. Steele was extremely knowledgeable and took lots of time to make sure I was getting the best amplification out of my hearing aids. I had not purchased them from him, as I purchased them while living in Florida, but he was extremely familiar with my model and manufacturer, and in fact offers the same ones as part of his portfolio of hearing devices to choose from. He literally took them apart, cleaned and calibrated and my hearing test helped determine what new programs and amplification changes I needed. I would highly recommend anyone who is considering hearing aids or would like to be evaluated come and visit them.

I had a very positive experience taking my mother to The Hearing Guy for hearing aids. He is patient and approachable and I have a feeling he is honest and not just in it for the money.He has a very friendly and competent front desk person. They have two convenient locations that are easy to find and get in and out of.in both Hendersonville & Asheville. The hearing aids were much less then my mother had been quoted from a different practice. My mother is very happy with the set of hearing aids!! They have greatly benefited her quality of life.

I have been wearing hearing aids for four years and they just were not working for me. I was struggling to hear my husband and the TV. Dr. Steel fitted me with a hearing aid that dramatically improved my hearing. I went with my father to his initial appointment and I was very impressed with Dr. Steele!! The way he explained the difference in HEARING VS CLARITY, why my dad struggles in noisy restaurants, and why his TV is turned up so loud now makes complete sense!! He performed the test and in-detail explained the difference between the lower cost aids vs the most expensive ones and how it related to my fathers particular loss (and also his lifestyle). Based on his recommendation we ended up choosing the rechargeable ones that go behind your ear. My mother and I are amazed how great he is doing and are so thankful we took him to THE HEARING GUY!!

I took my 91 year old father to The Hearing Guy with hope that he could improve dad’s hearing. My father was on his second hearing aid and we were doubtful we would have success. Dr Steele worked with my dad and decided to change the brand of hearing aid. We have been so pleased with the results... he can hear the tv ( no more closed captions), he joins in conversations in a restaurant and can now can have phone conversations. Although my husband bought his hearing aid in Florida, Brent solved problems he was having with it and has kept it in great running condition. He is extremely knowledgeable, considerate, and charges very fairly for his services. As a plus, hes friendly and easy to talk to. Tell him your hearing problems, and hell find a solution.
