Loved it! Great selection of both New and Used Everything. Employees were so helpful and friendly. Best prices around Annapolis. I highly recommend this place. Also Huge selection of Anchors . Get all those Boat projects finished while saving a few bucks .

Pretty good. A solid mix of used hardware and gear, new supplies, and sails. But not really an extensive mix of either three.

Friendliest, most knowledgeable Marine store Ive ever been to. If they dont have what you need, they will order it. Low prices, helpful employees. Will only use Bacon as long as were in Annapolis.

Inventory varies. Sometimes good service, sometimes not. Not a clean neat orderly store. Prices on some used items seem high.

Old boaters paradise. You need to be very very old to appreciate this place. All you Z’rs and Mils probably won’t get it but you can try. This requires a true GrandPa / GrandMa BOOMER to get it. They have everything. There are knobs for the Captain’s wheel and even the whole Captain’s wheel. You can find everything you need to retrofit that old sailboat or cabin cruiser you found on Craig’s List. They even have old guys that work there that know what the stuff is. If it’s for a boat what they don’t have they can get. This is Disneyland for geezers.

Such a cool place and great concept. Stuff on consignment, new gear Chandlery. Knowledgeable and helpful with incredible (low) pricing. For us with older yachts, you are likely to find a replacement (needing some polishing or like new). They can hook you up with an excellent set if sails!

Really cool store, very sailboat centric. They have a lot of great parts available, the only issue is to check the price on some of the consignment goods as they are not always a great deal.

From outboard motor lifts, solar panels, weather gear to electrical panels, line and ground tackle- Bacons has always had what we needed. The staff are excellent, knowledgeable and ready to assist.

Sailboat hardware is expensive ! Bacons helps through their consignment program. If youre in the area and a sailor , you know Bacons . You can find things that are impossable to find new , and new stuff at a reasonable price. Custom made sails and serviceable pre-owned sails . Definitely an Annapolis landmark.

I witnessed the incident complained of by Daniel Troyer below and this is what I saw: the reprimanded employee was giving merchandise to his buddy (obviously Daniel) for free. The store was very busy and the manager walked by, observed what was going on and told the employee that this was wrong and that the employee had neither the authority or permission to give away merchandise, even if it was junk. I think the complainer has a case of sour grapes because he did not get the free items. The offer to pay for the items only came AFTER the scheme was discovered by the manager. I have worked in several retail establishments and in a normal store (you have to know Bacons to know what I mean), what the employee did would be grounds for immediate dismissal. For this reason I think the manager showed considerable restraint. I do agree it should have been done outside of customers earshot but the store was so busy and understaffed I understand why it was not done so.

Everyone who works here is great, except for Rob. He has some kind of power issue. He berated a coworker in front of me for trying to help me get an item I needed. His strict adherence to “policy” and lack of an employee attitude will continue to drive people away from the store. Instead of apologizing or trying to make things work for us he just made everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. The item was ordered to be thrown in the dumpster, I was trying to pay them money to take it to tinker with. Rob about lost his cool and threatened his coworker with “a great loss” if he let me take the condemned item out of the store. It was ridiculous. I know there may be a policy about this, but a good attitude and a willingness to work with valued customers is key to running a business.

I only make it to Annapolis every couple of of years to go to the Boat Show and always make it a point for a side trip to Bacon Sails. Its a great place to search for spare parts, they have an amazing supply of new and used hardware and everything imaginable for marine repair.. Their web site has a very large inventory of used sails, and can also give you quotes on new sails, though I have no experience in purchasing either. I highly recommend them.

I was looking for 1 and 7/8 railing fittings and connectors. I found eBays new items were cheaper than Bacons used items, some of which were in pretty bad condition. Of course it is the only used boat parts place in town so I guess one should not complain too much.
