Writing this review will not change the game of big corporations but I still feel the need to say this. Asking and offering customers reward cards or credit cards are apparently not enough anymore. Now big corporations, including Ulta of course, are asking for email addresses to send you a receipt, a phone number for exchanges, an address just in case if they need to ship you an item when they dont have it in store, date of birth for whatever reason and of course your full name. The only thing that lady at the counter didnt ask me for was my social security number. This is horrible. The only reason I came in was to buy some foundation but I felt like I was being interegated. I understand that sales people are pressured to do that, so it is not their falt. I am just tired of this whole game of desperate attemps to keep customers.

Just got a voicemail that my hair appointment was cancelled. Apparently they were overbooked. I wouldnt be posting about this if it wasnt the *third* time its happened to me. Three strikes and youre out, Ulta. Byeeeeeeeee.

I get my hair cut and colored here and love it every time. Kayla and Kendra do an excellent job! The store staff are very friendly and helpful. I always get the help I need when I am here. I will continue to support this ulta because of the amazing staff!

A BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE,SHE DID A EXCELLENT MAKEUP MATCH , and skincare match for me, it took off many years of myAppearance. Very knowledgeable, helpful, Super precice AND QUICK.

Got a haircut by Kendra and was unable to actually see my hair being cut. I had an uneven cut from another place before and needed it fixed for an interview. I didnt think anything of not seeing it while being cut, I just thought it was her thing. Before I saw the cut she blew it and styled it just because and it looked alright. By the time I got home and showered, and let it air dry, I had chunks missing in my hair. The back is shorter than the front and the back of my head looks like a mullet air dried. Now looking to fix ANOTHER botched cut and we be calling about getting my money back immediately. Sadly will have to rock a ponytail for a professional interview.

I went to Ulta to get my hair and makeup done, they did an excellent job! I showed the makeup artist a picture of the makeup look that I wanted to achieve and she did it exactly the way I wanted, same goes for the hair as well. They were really friendly and definitely not short staffed. I had more than one stylist working on my hair because I had a short time frame and they did a great job in a short period of time.

Kayla has been doing my hair for years now and I will forever go to her! I have always had a hard time finding a stylist that I liked. I am so happy I found Kayla. I like to have icy platinum hair and she is the only person that has been able to keep my hair that color and healthy! Everywhere else I have gone would mess the color up terribly. She is also extremely friendly and the environment at Ulta is amazing. All the girls there are great! Would definitely recommend any of the ladies there, but Kayla is my go to girl! 💗

Grace did my eyebrows a few days ago and did a great job! I loved that she didnt feel the need to fill the silence with chatter. Ill be coming back for sure

LOVE ULTA!!! Their eisenhower location broke my heart and relocated to Maple Village (which isnt too far) but far for me. They always say hi when you walk in. Ask how you are etc. When shopping. Great selection! Love the Ulta brand! They usually always have $3 or $3.50 off coupons (mailed or online) BOGO ulta brand sales!! Love those!!! Their Arborland location is much closer but I prefer this one. Arborland doesnt speak when you walk in. They arent near as friendly and they are stuck up. (In my opinion)

Janae was awesome!!! I came in for 3 specific items but unfamiliar/unsure which brands to purchase. Janae asked a few more questions to determine which products to suggest and in no time I had everything I was looking for! I am very satisfied and will definitely be coming back again! Also, if anyone is looking for a cozy fall perfume -- Philosophys Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere is AMAZING 😍P.S. Idk how to spell her name, so I may be totally botching it.

I have been getting my hair cut and highlighted by Grace for a while now and I am always thrilled with the results. She is very detailed and knows what is going to look the best with my hair. She is very kind and warm and is fun to talk to. I highly recommend Grace for hair cuts and hair color!

The salon manager Kayla does my color & I could not be more appreciative & thrilled with what she’s done with my hair! Literally went from over processed hair with a green tint to the healthiest hair I’ve had since I started getting it done 10 years ago. Im giving 4 stars because they switched my stylist without informing me. I had been looking for a new salon for a while, and I originally booked with Kayla after reading great reviews about her. When I got there they had moved me onto Graces schedule with no communication. While she did a great job and Ill likely go back to see her, I was really disappointed about the lack of communication and professionalism.

Christmas eve I had my best experience yet. Smiling faces and helpful staff. Normally when I am there I feel invisible and can not get the help I need.

I went in for the last time today. Managed with a very elite attitude and rushing the customer. They threw away my gift card when it was wrongly declined.

I have so very much enjoyed this location! I recently moved to Ann Arbor in February of 2019. I have gotten my eyebrows waxed twice at the Benefit Bar! They did the best job! This past week I got my hair cut, highlighted and I received a conditioning treatment by Grace! Grace is fantastic at what she does! She is very easy to talk to, knowledgeable, kind and trustworthy! I have naturally curly hair and she knew exactly how to cut my hair! She even took the time to teach me how to curl my hair when it is blown out! She gave me my confidence back and I am feeling extra girly and refreshed! I look forward to working with Grace again!

Staff members were extremely helpful and friendly, store was well stocked and organized. Store manager was on site and helpful. I traveled nearly 80miles to shop at this location.

Clean, follows covid rules and I love the salon. Grace is amazing!

I got my hair cut, colored, and styled by Kayla! It turned out so pretty and the service was the best Ive had in any salon! She even got me a coffee from the coffee shop when i came in!

I had so much fun at Ulta! We spent over two hours just looking at cosmetics, lol. They have a wide range of products, expensive and not expensive, many good brands. And I still managed to spend less than $100 - amazing! The people were very nice, too.

Usually I don’t write reviews but this needed to be done!Came in last week to get all new makeup because old makeup-bag was lost in baggage claim (sigh). A girl named Maria helped me find perfect colors and perfect products for my skin, I love everything, she was very helpful and her own makeup was beutiful. I recommend going to her for help but I also recommend this store in general because was very kind. I will drive out of my way to come to this location now.

When I called about an issue with a previous hair coloring, Michelle who manages the salon acted quickly to get my hair back to exactly what I wanted while also protecting the integrity of my hair. This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a stylist because she cared so much and was so understanding about my experience.

I definitely recommend get your next haircut here hands down best haircut I’ve gotten in years!! My hair was the best I’ve ever seen it thanks to Kayla. If you come here for a haircut ask for Kayla!!!

I give the girl at the Benefit counter in the front of the store credit for friendly service, but there was no attention in the rest of the place. Two girls at the back in the beauty shop could not be bothered until I asked 10 questions, to see how long it would take one to get up and make an effort. Pitiful.

I get weird vibes, feels like I shouldn’t be there

Every time I go to Ulta, I have to resist the urge to buy all sorts of things I didnt come to buy. There is so much to choose from. Staff is sometimes attentive, or sometimes not, but its ok if you like to browse around.

Went in to buy some products and ended up getting my eyebrows done. Leah did a great job and was very helpful.

Worst customer service even! There were ten people in line, the cashier was on the phone for 5 minutes. Next thing you know two other staff appeared and they started talking to each other, were waiting and waiting. Then they tell us the line starts behind us. Were like really, they were checked out first, WTF. The way we were treated we will never ever go back to this business. We were there on August 23 about 6:30

I was not greeted when I came into the store. There were four or five team members at the cash wrap and no one greeted me. I walked through the store and it’s very cluttered. Too many products for the size of the store. I went over to test a Lancôme fragrance and two employees were stocking shelves and no one asked if I needed help. The stores only saving grace was Jade the young lady who checked me out. She was very kind and polite. I will not return to this location!!!

Customer service. Customer service. Customer service. They answered all of my questions, listened to my endless rambling, and were simply kind. I always feel like I get solid advice when I come in here.

Store and staff were great, but was very disappointed that they did not carry the Ordinary brand in store. Would love to see the brand in store soon..

Im always impressed when I visit stores that have great customer service. Went to Ulta to get my makeup done for graduation pictures. Kristin was awesome. I walked to the back of the store and checked in with an associate, and felt so cared for! Offered a bottle of water. Kristin asked my input the entire time and was patient with my lack of knowledge about make up. Kristin even offer to have an associate come in early on my graduation day to do my makeup. Grateful that I chose to visit Ulta in Arborland.

Judgemental staff. Terrible service if you dont look the part. To their credit the store manager reached out to me but at that point, I moved on, because Im done with women that treat others that way. So I appreciate the reach out, but there was no way I want anything to do with the judgemental store. I have cancer and wanted to look good. Instead I left feeling ugly, poor and small.

Disappointing how they change the colors and types of products all the time! If you really like something I suggest stocking up because the next time you go in, they might no longer carry it! Guess Ill just keep purchasing at Meijer since their products are always in stock.

Too much product to choose from. Layout of store was difficult to figure out for new customers. Not a lot of clerks to help you find stuff faster.

Ive really grown to like this Ulta. It has a Brow Bar and a salon in the store. The staff is friendly and available. A manager even gave me free points for having to wait in line. Its also easier to get to than Sephora in the mall, so if you need to make a quick trip that is possible. Also, Ulta has a wider selection of products including hair products and styling tools which arent available in Sephora.

I went into this Ulta this past Tuesday (1/24/17), around 3:15 p.m. I wanted to grab a few things and check out the store changes since I havent been in awhile. I worked at this store for almost two years, a few years back. The customer service I experienced was actually non-existent. Upon walking into the store, I was not greeted at all. Throughout my time in the store I was not spoken to at all. There were many associates who walked around, towards, and past me and did not ask me if I was doing okay or if I needed any help. A simple hello , and smile can go a long way. I didnt feel welcomed in a store I once loved to come to visit and shop. The items I planned on purchasing I put back, and even as I left there was nothing said to me. Im not sure what has happened in the last couple of years but please do better.

I went to this location in need of getting matched with a foundation. I am so happy I went here because the Lancome Advisor Melina was absolutely the best! She helped me in everyway possible. I have no knowledge of make-up and she helped me get everything I needed. The sales associate Cameron was so friendly and helpful as well! Thank you for helping me find products I can feel confident wearing and for great customer service! Absolutely had a great time and will return again.

The employees are nice but they NEVER HAVE WHAT I WANT. I will plan special trips because there are no ULTA near me I get here sorry we dont have that yet, sorry sorry. Its just a sorry store. 😞If theres a free item they may never get it in stock and lure you in to purchase, they also will not honor it any other day. If they do get it youd have to make another purchase or return everything and buy it again. 🙄

Taylor in the salon is beyond words fantastic! I had a terrible experience at a different salon and the next day I called ulta to have it fixed. They got me in quickly and Taylor worked some kind of miracle to not just fix my hair but she made it look great! She went above and beyond to make sure I left the salon feeling good and I couldnt be happier.

Some of the supplies are priced way too high. Others are decent. I bought a new foundation that was lime $40 and it was the worst foundation Ive ever used!

Manager Kayla has done an amazing job getting my hair healthy and I’m obsessed with the color !! Highly recommend seeing her for whatever your looking to have done!

Employees are nice but the store is bleh. Shelves for anything on sale is bare. Clearance items usually appear used or tampered with. Don’t ever come to this location expecting to actually receive one of the promotion listed in the ad. Even if you go in the first day they either didn’t receive or sold out. Then they are so nonchalant about it. It’s a bit infuriating.

Its almost overwhelming because theres ao much to look at. Its a good thing that the staff is so friendly and knowledgable and helps you choose just the right thing

Long story short i had my hair done by grace(ann arbor, arborland store)at the salon it looked good and i liked the cut .. until i washed my hair and all of the highlights started breaking off! I got back into the salon The general manager said she would make it right.. i paid $160 for my hair to all break off..i was good until grace was like it was because we braided your hair and u brushed it... really!?.. no sorry maybe i possibly over processed it or maybe the stuff i used didnt like your hair? Idk anything!? Then she’s like if u buy this stuff it should fix it... the redken cat line everything is $20 a piece plus she said i needed a treatment she couldnt do because she wasnt certified to do but i could go pay at another ulta to have it done!? I asked for a manager since the general manager had already left.... her exact words were she did my hair and its good(short wavy maybe greyish purple hair)!? Really!? Another women from the floor who was standing there while we were talking spoke up and said that should have never of happened and that the gm would be in touch. Well the GM hasnt called Im disputing the charges as well as calling corporate.( ive been coming to get my hair done at this salon for years! Never a problem! Should have been a red flag when all of there staff was gone and only two girls working at the salon)

This location has a Clinique Rep so that stuff is more stocked than in other stores. They are also kind about if they dont have the free item your coupon is for theyll give you something else.

My favorite go-to for makeup is always Sephora. although, today i decided to come to Ulta because i did not feel like going up to the mall. Ive always heard amazing thungs about this place, so i gave it a try! upon walking in, the atmosphere was so very pleasant! it was very clean, organized, and the natural light coming in the windows was so nice! i FELT beautiful just being in here! walking around the store..... the selection was just... wow!! not only do they have all of the makeup i was looking for, they also had more! hair products, body products, skin products! i was shocked! i loved it! ive been looking for something to hold my makeup brushes and found the perfect holder, i am in love!!! i will be coming here from now on, instead of Sephora!! dont get me wrong, i still love sephora, but i love the massive selection of everything offered here!! AND the ladies were SO FRIENDLY!!!! 100% satisfied with my visit

I was out shopping with one of my friends and I wanted to stop in ULTA to get some foundation and filler for my eyebrows. Which, I did purchase. They werent too expensive. The total was about $17.00 with about $9.00 deducted from my original total for signing up a a member. The sales associate didnt really give me a choice in the matter. She just told me that I needed to give her my information. I didnt really care and it was saving me money, but she should have at least asked. Then she proceeded to ignore me as she was completing the transaction and started talking to a separate customer about a nail polish she was purchasing. I understand you are trying to sell your products, but focus on the customer you are helping. My friend was also really annoyed with this. She was helped by a different associate who she said seemed nice enough. Other than that we didnt spend much time in the store, since they apparently didnt have working air conditioning. It was extremely hot. We both wanted to leave. We felt miserable in that store. But I needed makeup for work. If I had the time, I would have gone somewhere else. Unfortunatley, I was unable too. I probably wont return.
