Good supermarket with Persian food and staff

Very good place.They have sushi bar there.I bought two boxes.Fresh made sushi.Thats fantastic.

Great International market and always have lunch at the Persian Deli, food is original and awesome, 2+ hours round trip for us but worth it when time to stock up.

Fresh beef stew, sirloin tip steak, Mexico pepper, kebab, a lot of things from middle east

Wholesome Choice is back in business again! I am so glad to see my favorite Mediterranean and Bulgarian food available again in my home area!

I love wholesome choice!! They have both Indian and Asian food. Whats not to love. The produce is so cheap! Love it!! Also they have places inside to eat that are yummy. I love the fresh flat bread they sell as well. You get a huge piece for so cheap. Definitely will be back.

Wholesome Choice was a good market with good food, but the place was dirty and run down. A second owner came in and bought the place and he did nothing to clean up the building and I complained about cigarette smoke by employees in the food isle and next to the bathrooms. The second owner sold My Market to the new owner and and now the store is called Smart Choice. The Smart Choice owner which is the 3rd owner has done some remodeling in the back near the bathroom area and really cleaning up the inside of the store. Now there is also a Custom Service area nicely remodeled with a cleaner area to sit and eat your food. Hats off to the third owner your doing a great job! I just wish you would bring back the cheap coffee bar and pantries. I used to love getting coffee in the mornings there. Keep up the good work I will definitely continue to shop at Smart Choice thanks to the 3rd owner. Sincerely, M.S.G.

Delicious food.

It looks this store started selling items either very old stocked or expired items as bought couple of snacks last week and when opened the packets, they were smelling really bad. Best before date was also not readable on these snack packets. Went back to return but they said they are not accepting any returns due to COVID-19. Horrible experience so be careful when buying any packaged item from here. Experience is not worth 1 star but comment posting doesnt allow me to submit unless pick one.

I came here to to get meat with my mom , not only was the guy who was giving us the meat was really disrespectful but so was the manager , who had told us to leave. The service here sucks

Much better when it was a Wholesome Choice. Tried to ask the guys behind the meat counter a question. One ignored us, and the other has to go find someone that understood English.Also, when was the last time the place was cleaned?

New Smart Choice has replaced the delicious bakery withe the NEW bakery. All cakes are now watery and sweet. I bought a $25 carrot cake to a party and was so embarrassed no one finish his/her own piece. Only a quarter of the cake was cut. The rest went straight to the trash (can’t eat)

Smart choices not a good name for this grocery store its more of a eclectic place with a variety of foods from around the world but mostly focusing on a middle Eastern, some Mexican and a little bit of South American thrown in I say.

Meat is not fresh. Groceries are also not fresh. My experience wasnt good overall

This market is very interesting. I have never seen a Middle Eastern style market before, but it is very interesting. I love the fragrances of all the spices and the interesting sights to see. I actually come from a place where none of these dishes and smells can be seen that often, so it was nice to see a change. Come here for some great food and interesting finds.

Great Lebanese market with huge food court. Meat is great. Produce cheap but low quality. Unique items. Flat bread made fresh while you wait. Fast friendly checkout.

Unique and tons of choices. Be careful when picking fruits and vegetables. Some of isnt so fresh but most of it is so nothing to worry about. This is the UN of grocery stores and the prices are great! I was juicing and could literally almost fill a shopping cart and pay around 35 dollars!! Incredible! The small restaurants inside are pretty fantastic too!

Worst costumer service ever , they are very rude and very unprofessional. Most of items there are expired . It happened more than once and when I tried to return it they refused and even they didn’t apologized

I really enjoyed this market it was first time i went to it..found alot of wonderful n different kinds of foods..plus some prices were great deals. Also found FRESH ALOE VERA LEAF. IVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR ALOE..IT WAS GOOD DEAL TOO...i will go back... Its call my market..

Ethnic grocery store. Prices are very decent, especially when its on sale. They have a food court but only one store is currently open. Place is not as crowded as before new ownership. Big parking space.

Ethnic food along with traditional grocery store. Wide choice of middle eastern to Asian subcontinent choices. Has changed ownership frequently since it reopened few months back. People are friendly and polite. Good choice for finding that old country ingredient.

Such a BS market. Use to be The wholesome choice-and it was hot spot for Persian food and spices and so much more. New owner ruined the place. I will not come back here no more.

Great variety of fresh and packaged produce. Ample parking. Getting out of the lot can be tricky especially if you want to turn left.

Love this place. I wish it was closer to my home. Id be here every week. The ready to cook marinated meats are awesome. I did invest in some of the long skewers. It does make a difference. The food court is amazing. I have never gotten past the Persian food since that it so amazing.

If youre looking for Middle Eastern or Indian products along with everyday items, this is the place to go. Their prices are a bit pricey and sometimes the choices of produce is not great. The best time to shop for produce is in the morning when theyre stocking up the shelves (They store is very busy and the good stuff go first). Also check expiration dates closely, the sell by dates are sometimes in 2 days or that day.

Customer service was very bad, when I got to cashier, she did not say hello instate talking to her friend in Spanish very lod very rude. No problem hiring Mexicans to work in the front at least they should get the proper training, I understand the culture (they are from the culture of hard work, but not education)Anyways I record video on my phone, unfortunately video did not capture everything but is good enough to understand & I will posted in YouTube by tomorrow or next day. The parking right by the grocery store can get a bit tricky but if you dont mind walking a bit then parking is fairly simple. The store has a wide selection of food from many international regions; from middle eastern, south pacific, to Hispanic items. They have great prices and while the lines are long the cashiers do their best to keep things moving. Its a good and bad thing this place is so popular in the community. Bad because of the lines. Good because of the great prices and selection.

Very diverse place with a lot of selection. All types of really great international specialties. When you go there the customers are from all over the world as well, which should speak to the offerings. There is a food court there too. I think this is one of the best places in the area to shop.

The store is closing down. I was surprised when I got there to see the signs that they were going out of business. I went on December 7th, 2020.

This is a very small Wholesome Choice. It has the essentials but it doesnt have as many options. If you are in dire need of certain drinks or meat products then this the Cup of Wholesome Choice for you! I will stick to the Wholesome Choice in Anaheim.

This place had to close because of the health dept. Recently open back up (months later). I have been back once to see the difference and its cleaner. I didnt stay long to really check on how the new staff were, but l will tell anyone that before if you were a white person you were not welcome. The whole store made you unwelcomed. Now, this information is based on several trips before reopening. So how are the staff??, let me say l have never gone back or would l.Why the same owner and he/they had to know how people were treated. For free l wouldnt go back. Just tell anyone who asks about this place

Excellent selection of produce with some unusual fruit and veggies you wont find anywhere else. Bulk bin selection is outstanding as well. I docked one star for the lack of organic produce and the terrible parking situation

This place use to be decent... However it is getting worse and worse to the point that tonight I have decided not to spend another penny in this store. Here are the list of issues:1. quality of the produce: You better check closely when you buy and eat the fruit and vegetable right away. The fresh produces are not really fresh, they are usually very old and lowest quality,2. Other products (rice, beans, dry vegetables) are also extremely old. last few times that I bought rice or dry vegetables, I found Moth and unfortunately did not find it early enough.3. The food court (specifically Persian food): The quality has been dropping for years. f you know Persian food, you would know that the taste and quality is the lowest. On top of that, tonight I noticed that the size of the stew have been cut to half with the same price...At this point, I would not go there anymore, and as a matter of fact do not want to waste my time for any thing related to wholesome choice...even this review.

This is a middle eastern grocery store. The food here is cheap but not always the best quality. Its under a new management now. So things are changing hopefully for the better.

Huge food selection. Has options for different cultures too. It also has about 3 or 4 fast food restaurants inside. Prices are very good. Check out lines can get a bit long but worth it.

The best place for Persian/International foods and groceries with a house bakery for breads, desert, and food court with prepared foods of the Mediterranean. Prices are moderate but not cheap. Service is great.

One of my favorite groceries stores. Has so many more options that other local stores dont have. I believe it is geared towards ethic food lovers. Mostly has various Indian, Israeli, Asian and Arabic foods. I have also noticed some different flavors of the common food stuffs that you see all around but you wont ever find such flavors. Also has an amazing food court but on the pricey side. But all of the exotic ingredients are being sold there anyway. Overall prices are on the lower side so thats good. They have daily fresh arabic breads section and frequent discounts too.

This is a specialty market focus on international clientel. Fruits and vegetables prices are great but then to ripe very quickly. Personally, I enjoy shopping there and everyone should visit Wholesome choice.

Great food court/deli for warm ethnic dishes to-go. The Indian food is pretty good. Fruits and Veggies are much less expensive than going to the chain grocers. Just examine the produce carefully for freshness.

This place is fast, friendly & reasonable in prices.Also has a full fledged dinners, ready to take out, or eat in their cafe.Has a fast coffee & a baked good, right by entrance ( perhaps have a slight price ).So good, that I went back several times, in my week long stay in Orange, CA

They are really affordable priced and they have take out food, all prepared in house and fresh. Persian and Indian food. Very very good. Only the seating area is really really bad. They need to do a make over for sure on that.

Ethnic Super Store - great food court with lots of halal options and a deli and bakery (mostly desserts and sangak) that rival any (couldnt find any baguette) but the prepackaged meats have almost no halal options for cold cuts and its hard to find a someone with a smile on their face that works there .. very weird. If I could ask for anything it would be more halal or kosher options when it comes to the meats (prepackaged)

This Store is a Multi Cultural food Market and kitchen. ...Although I personally havent walked around the Store to view all their Products. ..I mainly walk in for their Prepared Food they Sell..I go directly to the Persian Food Section...It is Freaking Awesome !!!They offer quite a few Choices in Prepared Food.

My favorite section of Wholesome Choice has to be the bakery. There is a wide variety of delicious baked goods and I will come here to pick up last minute desserts like cakes, tarts or cupcakes. Ive yet to have something from here that I dont like, everything is really great.

When they first opened, this was one of my favorite stores to go to for international ingredients. Unfortunately, the quality and cleanliness has gone downhill..Super crowded with fruit and vegetables that are not of quality! Not to mention rude staff.The only reason I still stop here every now and then is to get Sangak

I like their selection of foods. The produce is always so fresh and the bins beautifully maintained. The variety of choices (cheeses for example) is varied and makes it hard to choose.

I like visiting the Wholesome Choice in Irvine, so I thought I would be happy coming here. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. The food court was somewhat lacking. I came specifically to try the Chomp Chomp Nation restaurant. The restaurant owner was off on lunch (or something -- he left no sign) for a good 20 minutes. The eating area was somewhat cramped, compared to the Irvine location. The water dispensing area was a bunch of gallons of bottled water sitting on a table that you could pour for yourself.Food court issues aside, the restroom was not exactly in the best kept of states -- no towels in the dispenser. Regarding the produce, I found some good passion fruit; mangoes were on sale, but they were not ripe or sweet.I probably wont be stopping in again unless I happen to be traveling to the Inland Empire and need some halal meat (although, it should be noted that not all their meat is halal).

This is a really nice place where I find the normal things I get at other markets, and I also find things I would not find in my local market. So I try them and it usually turns out they are very good.

Great products hard to find at regular grocery stores.

Just bought expired 2 week old milk (today is oct 16th) - we were already on the free way. My daughter spat it out. I usually check but seriously 2 weeks is dangerously shameful

The place has new owners, and it looks like they are doing a new layout. It appears they have eliminated a lot of items and vendors inside the store. Many of the cold sections of filled with water. All the food court vendors are currently gone. The wine and liquor is gone. It looks very sparse inside the store. It will be interesting to see if this store makes it or how they finish the store.

A great grocery place. Dont miss the food area they have with delicious Indian, Chinese, Persian & other cuisines. They also have saffron ice cream, amazing taste

It has many different ethnic food products. Love the variety of European and Middle Eastern products. However meat quality is questionable. Some products are expired, but still on the shelves. Lines are always long at the register.

Nice choices. Lots of vegan & dairy & gluten free options. Good Mediterranean prepared take out too.

The bad: The produce is terrible...it never lasts more than a day or two before rotting. Most of the green/leafy herbs like cilantro and parsley are full of weeds. Never buy produce here.The slightly disappointing: They must have hired a different alcohol buyer...the beer selection is worse than a gas station.The good: They have a lot of hard-to-find things that you cant get in a typical grocery and those items usually have a good price.

This place is a hidden gem. They have awesome products and great prices. The hot food selection and the bakery are great.

We shop there all the time but their fruits are not so fresh all the time. So, I am selective on what I buy there. Having said that, happy with my experience with them.

It was average to expensive in price. The state of appearance was not something to be desired. The interior could be much cleaner.

I dont get to eat Persian food often because Im a bachelor and too busy to cook, so the prepared food is perfect to take home. I get the visit to the store being among my own countrymen and women, get home style inexpensive meals and I feel sorry for the review of Nice Sauce person or whateve, who has to bring her racist ignorance and critiquing the place based on the race of the employees. She needs to live under a rock if shes so hateful towards other people who have the right to be here.

The store is under stocked. Many of the shelves and bin are empty. No bread deliveries!

This store has all of the things you dont typically see at your neighborhood grocery store. International galore. The dessert sections is incredible and wide selection.

Today 12/24/2019 my wife was shopping at this supper market. At night time want to prepare some food for tomorrow all the eggplants was awful.

Everything realize on the people that attend to you, and in this store it fell short! Product was great, and that is why I am giving it a 3 star. The cashier was so unpleasant that I thought she may have been deaf. I am from out of town, visiting family, and I wont shop their again while Im here.

Worst exsperience ever. Ordered lunch from food court took 50 minutes to make and on top of that i ordered chicken and they gave me beef. Had to take it to go cause they sucked up my whole lunch time with waiting for a wrong order. It wont let me post without clicking a star to rate. So Im clicking one star but i really give it - 5 stars. Dont go there ever.

Great prices and best location! I used to drive 20 miles to King Market in west Anaheim for similar food items, its great that Wholesome Choice is here less than 2 miles from my house. Love it!!!

Great prices & selection for produce. Also a great place for lunch, with the various ethnic selections. However the pre-packaged food is on the expensive side.

Great market with lots of vegetables and fruits. Large selection of specialty items. They make sangak and barbari bread fresh daily. You have to try it!Their Hot food to go choices are great. Persian, Indian, Chinese, Italian anything you want.

Bought Jack fruit and several other vegetables that were completely rotten. The whole vibe of the store is pretty dull and gloomy.

Very overpriced on seasonal fruit figs the kiwis are 4 for 1.00 but cut to soon the onions are to big and eggs are way overpriced the black figs are 5.99 a pound and the container wasnt even a pound ridiculous price large avocados 89cents each they should be 50 cents each youll sell a lot more we all hope your store wont close again!

It has alot of interesting thing you cant find in Chain grocery stores. However many shelves were empty and messy. I bought a Ritters chocolate bar. When I opened it I realized it expired 3 months ago. Im eating it anyway. Lol. Its still tastes good.
