Nice & clean, easy to find section I was looking for, but very limited on clothing items in plus sizes. I actually didnt find any dresses, except on-line purchases returned. Even those were less than 5. Some slacks were reduced, they looked like something I would wear. When I found smaller sizes on same rack on clearance for $10 less, I quit looking. I thought they should all be priced the same.

Store lookes very dated and like alot of places inventory is very slim

It was so hard to find someone to take my money for my purchase. Finally, a young woman working at Sephora noticed me standing around looking confused and frustrated, and she said she could ring me up. She was the main bright spot in my visit to the store.

I was surprised at how clean and nice JCPenneys and Ames was. Since theyve been closing stores all over, Ive lowered my expectations. I got a Liz Claiborne suit for less than $20 off the clearance rack. The only downside is that there were only three dressing rooms open, and more people that needed to use them.

Glad we still have a JCPENNEY STORE even if it is 45 miles away.

Loved shopping at jcpenneys again was there for 3 hours, very nostalgic for me, loved the prices and sales.

Its crazy how this is the only store in town with a Big & Tall clothing section for men. Never had a bad experience here. Just wish they were open longer.

Not much to choose from in the plus sizes.

I wanted to buy a super cute Xersion womans top. The sign posted in Xersion area & on this wall with these shirts said 50% off Xersion Apparel for Her. See my pictures. This was an Xersion womans shirt. Original cost $27 & should have been $12.99 as the sign said. When checking out I was told this shirt was a New Arrival and new arrivals were not included in the sale. No Where was it posted that there were exclusions or that new arrivals were not included in the sale.I asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with a manager from HR. Sorry, I dont know her name. She confirmed that this shirt was not on sale because it was a New Arrival. I tried hard to explain that I understand exclusions, but since there was no indication to exclusions, this shirt (which by the way was just a different color than the one on sale) should be sale priced. Sadly, I did not win. And, I did not buy the shirt. Which was a bummer ~ it was super cute.This was just one bad experience with JC Penneys. I shop alot in this Ames store & many other JC Penneys. That wont change. I like their product quality & selection. This one experience was disappointing.

Okay, here is the thing. the products can be very high-quality if you poke around a little. The pricing can be excellent. I am a very thin dude and it was awesome to find jackets that fit me off the rack!

I had good experience with them before. This time idk whats wrong. I paid more than what was posted near my item. I would buy online if I know the real price. And even some items not included in JCPenny card and no one told us. I am not sure if this is the quality of service provided here in the US 😶

I was a walk/call in. They were accommodating. Noelle did a great job and was super fast. The salon was well kept. Treated you like a person. Was high end price, but quality matched.

Very helpful staff during pre-Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving afternoon. I was given a coupon as I walked in the door (10%off) and directed to the door busters I was looking for. Super quick visit without any hassle.

Ordered a ring from them...they said they would get it in 7 to 10 days and it took almost a month.

We were just in and out. Didnt find what we were looking for. Saw no clerks to ask questions. Wish these stores had an electric carts for handicapped.

This Penneys location is great for its size. Its not too big, but not too small. They have a decent collection of typical department store merchandise.

For someone who recently moved into Ames, I was amazed at the discount on home items and I loved it. The attendants were also quite interactive and willing to help me shop for items that fitted my budget. I recommend it.

Staff was excellent but the air coinditioning was not working and was very uncomfortable.

We had to buy some big & tall mens clothes for last minute event. We were extremely pleased with the quality, selection, and especially the price. Would hope to come back again for that. Customer service wasnt the best. Plus it was rather irritating that every 5 minutes for the last 20 minutes theyd announce they were closing. Then when we wanted to check out we had to wait for clerk to finally amble up to the counter.

I had a very nice experience. People were very helpful and responded in a timely fashion.

The store is fairly large and has a wide array of items which are often on sale. With a JCPenny membership card, its definitely a great place to shop for your household needs.

They have some products that I really like. Staff is very friendly

Was loyal pennys customer- Are local pennys store close- so in finishing up Christmas shopping we came across a J.C. Penny store in Ames - was going to use pennys. credit card (which has a zero balance) to speed up check out - It wouldnt work- so I guess if you dont use extremely often its shut- so now we know why pennys is it the tubes

Its was good price get. Bought new purse originally $69.00 for $17.00. Was 70% off everyone at check out counter was asking for coupon, so I did also so I received additional 10% off my purchase which made me real happy.Why do they have the dresses for adults women in the Junior area?

Summer has arrived and the store has NOT FIXED their air conditioning. I had to quit shopping in your store last year because it was so HOT in the store. Yesterday I was with my 86 year old mother shopping, and it was too stuffy for her.You are very fortunate to have loyal employees to work in those conditions last year. When I asked yesterday about the air, I was told the part is to arrive this week. Please let the public know when it is once again comfortable to be in the store.

I’ve never went to any other salon before and it’s because this place is the best! I had my hair cut and colored by Brooke and it was the best experience. She held great conversation, kept me laughing and did nothing less than what I had hoped for even though I showed up late! Thanks Brooke!!!!

I dont mind the in-store experience. In fact, I will continue to shop on site. However, I will NEVER ORDER ONLINE again. About 50% of the time they send the wrong item or the wrong size. Ive ordered a bra before and gotten a long-sleeve mens shirt instead. Most recently I ordered an XL coat and received a Small. There are many other orders they have messed up on, and I am fed up! Good deal or not, Im done shopping online with JC Penney.

The store was disorganized where you couldnt figure out where the women and plus size clothes where. The rest of the store looked the same. I couldnt even shop because of this. I just got fed up and left the store. I have never been in a JCP that look like that at all. They need to made the store more functional.

They didnt have the merchandise we were looking to find, but the employees were helpful and offered to order online and have the products sent directly to our home with free shipping.

The Big and Tall department ironically gets smaller and smaller. Terrible selection in what should be a profitable department. Too bad...

What happened to organization? You cant find squat and if your handicapped bring a couple pain pills cause your going to walk all over to find what you want. Everything is on sale but it looks like they raised the prices then marked things down. Make sure you price check and please check your receipt! Lots of errors and miss marked items.
