This small coffee shop nestled in the heart of Alvin is an amazing escape from the crazy of life. The staff and service are fantastic and the coffee and food are fresh and delicious. The owners are actively involved and you will often see them chatting with customers.The thing that really keeps me coming back is the absolute friendliness of the staff. Each month this coffee shop hosts a community game night that is sure to be filled with lots of banter and laughter. This past month was BINGO night and it was so much fun.During a time of polarized views on COVID, they opt to allow their customers to choose whether or not they wear masks. While the staff does not wear masks, they do maintain the highest level of cleanliness and make sure to provide a safe environment for those of whom they serve. I appreciate the fact that even though I choose to mask, no disparaging comments were made; and none are made to those that opt to not wear masks. It’s a breath of fresh air to find somewhere that welcomes you with a smile no matter your beliefs. Well done.I will be coming back here for as long as they have their doors open. Their smiles, giving spirit, and delicious coffee/food is a welcomed respite.

1st visit but not the last to this establishment. Food selection looks great, muffins were scrumptious, coffee was really delicious taste so fresh and robust. Excellent service nice at home kitchen atmosphere made you feel welcome. What I liked the best was the respect shown to use for our choice of not wearing a mask. It was our choice and we didnt feel judged or prosecuted because of our choice. Clean location. Would have liked a senior or military discount offer. But well worth the price.

Great coffee I just wish the grubhub menu would reflect all the options available. For example if i order a cold brew on grubhub there is no option to add heavy cream or choose the flavor. Makes it difficult when out of town working to surprise someone at home with there favorite coffee.

Delicious coffee and the staff was very friendly! I had the Emma (honey lavender oat milk iced latte). It wasnt super sweet, which I loved. My husband and I shared a cookie as well and it was amazing! Huge chocolate chunks that were very fudgy and the cookie itself was so soft! I could have eaten so many more! They have a lot of events too (live music, video game tournaments, etc.). Well definitely be back!

I am so happy that they open earlier during the school year for teachers to get that needed boost in the morning. They are always pleasant and helpful and this is a great place to do activities throughout the week. It is also special to help a local small business.

I always enjoy this spot. I really appreciate all the space in the dining area -- it is cozy and comfy and nothing feels tight. Always good coffee and paninis are always crispy and warm. Good folks own it and good folks work there. I work a lot so my wife goes much more than I do. But on my mornings off it makes a great breakfast date. Thanks Jake and Dorian for making a great place here in Alvin.

Chose 1820 for a meeting. Both ladies were so friendly and answered all of my random questions with patience!! I went with a mango frozen lemonade and it was GREAT!!

Dont drink coffee but they have selection of other beverages. I had an excellent cold coconut milk and and panini sandwich. Cozy ambiance with plenty of tables and chairs and sofas to relax. We went Friday night, (occasionally have Open Mic?) and heard Jordan Soliz on vocals and guitar. nice evening.

The coffee here was really really good and that jalapeño popper panini was so tasty. I definitely recommend this place. And its so nice inside too, it has a very nice and clean setup. I will definitely be returning. 10/10.

I LOVE 1820 coffee house. Their staff is so friendly and helpful, that atmosphere is fantastic and my favorite, their focus on building community. Definitely my go to place for coffee and for a place to meet with friends new and old.

I ordered a drink called the Anni, it was good but literally had so much ice I took about 3 drinks and it was gone! $6 for 3 sips...😳*** I took my drink to go so I wasnt really able to do that! It was really good but I wish I had taken a photo of the amount of ice that was in the cup! I dont think this is a negative review but a review of what I give for my drink! 3 stars for 3 sips! Oh and I will go again and give an honest opinion for my purchases and service! I didnt try any foods but will add I do believe that you beat the big StarBs place!😁

This place is very open and inviting for all ages and types of coffee people. There is a place for everyone to sit and you can have a great conversation with the staff. There are many different coffees, smoothes, teas, and pastries to choose from. This coffee house is very giving to their community and to the small businesses that need help to stay open or to continue growing. The people who started this are amazing and I am glad they made a place for everyone to enjoy!

I have been here a few times and cant convince myself to go anywhere else for my breakfast or lunch. It is honestly way better than Starbucks, the process range the same prices but the portions are way better when it comes to the paninis plus they come with chips and a pickle. I recommend the Ham it up Panini and the Pizza panini.

I tried this place for the first time driving through Alvin I wanted something other than Starbucks. Staff was great and the overall space is nice. A few couches to chill on and plenty of tables. As for the coffee...well I would say it was average, could be Im just not used to the type of beans they used, but the coffee seemed a bit thin.

I come here to study and Im usually here (Im here now lol) about 3 to 5 hours when I come. I have 2 to 3 drinks and a meal or snack and I tip well. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they make an amazing whipped coffee, I get it every time. Its setup for people to study or chill and read your favorite book. I hope during fall break I can sneak in and just read a good book instead of Statistics! Great vibe and atmosphere. Highly recommend!!! Oh and free wifi and its quiet!

Excellent coffee house, please visit them when you are in Alvin! I visit and shop in Alvin frequently and am delighted to have found 1820 coffee house! The coffee menu is extensive and muffins & other treats are available. The very thoughtful staff can make suggestions if you are not sure what you want and will see to it that you enjoy your time at 1820 Coffee House. I love the fact that my Cortada was served in a Cortada glass and my iced water in a glass mason jar!! Thank you 1820 Coffee House!

1820 Coffee House has become a second home to me. You cant beat the service and you definitely cant beat the beverages, and good food or the smiling faces serving them. Clean and interesting with a strong Christian atmosphere. You can see a little of the personalities of the owners Jake Starkey and Dorian Strickland and the staff everywhere.Very community minded group of people. I have never said this before but it is truly my pleasure to give my buisness to this coffee shop. They are the best.

This is a very warm and inviting place to meet and greet and enjoy coffee, tea and light foods. They tear everyone like family. I love the place and go 2 or 3 times a week most weeks. Starbucks has nothing on this place.

I was sad to see Rocket Boom go but so excited to see another shop replace it! 1820 far exceeds expectations...not only do they have a great little food menu, but they make GREAT coffee. Friendly staff and great seating options for studying, meeting with friends, or reading alone. Highly recommend!

Now this is a proper coffee shop. No trendy, frivolous stuff, and great service. The drip coffee was roasted and brewed properly, with no bitterness.

Such a cute little place! The coffee, baked goods, and sandwiches are amazing! I had the caramel brulee frap, the blueberry muffin, and the turkey pesto panini. They were all yummy, but the panini, omg. It was crunchy, sauced perfectly, melty, and so delicious. I would definitely go back just for that sandwich. The blueberry muffin was light and fluffy and had the perfect amount of sweet. The coffee tasted exactly what I thought it would taste like. The only thing I wish is that they had put some caramel drizzle or something on it, but even without that it was so good. Our homeschool group met there and even though they were a bit overwhelmed, they still were able to accommodate all of us, including some of our kiddos. So if you can, skip the Starbucks and try this place! Support your local businesses! ;) I wish I had taken pics, but I will next time, since there will definitely be a next time. ❤️
