My mum bought 20$ worth of chicken and 12$ worth of steak for dinner tonight. All of them are rotten! Butera I suggest you fix your refrigeration system! We were about to eat dinner but it was starting to smell funky after she made it with food, we ate it then immediately spit it out because it was turned already and smelt like trash.... ‘‘:(( 🤬😠😡

Wow after the pandemic & my surgery I am back to grocery my stuffs to Butera,good price & a lot of stuffs reasonable price for a senior like me ...My concern the cashier didnt say anything like good morning or good evening to the customer Im been working in walmart 13yrs we never forget to say a greetings to the customer & give a good smile to say thank you for shopping at our Walmart store..Greetings is the best policy in our walmart Superstore & our JEWel in Cary . I love Butera since it has such a variety of food! I like to make all kinds of different kinds of food and Butera has it! Nice job Butera for having it all under one roof.

When the store was Cub foods, then eagle then Caputo the stores were super clean as a whistle. That ended when butera took over. When there was a butera east of the river on Algonquin road that place was filthy as could be. The hallway going to the bathroom was scary. Im going to guess its the same managers.. The floors are absolutely awful especially where the carts are... If you ask a question of someone in the produce department they cant speak English so you cant get an answer... Finding another employee to help you that does speak English almost impossible. If they cant take care of floors what does that say about the meat section, the butchers? The people in the deli have a tendency to talk to one another rather than assist customers...... Years ago butera was clean neat and orderly and there were people to help.

They have lots of Fresh Pet Dog food. My spoiled dog is allergic to everything so thats what he has to eat. Most places run low or are sold out. This is my new spot!

Shop here every week and generally would give 5 stars but wasnt happy with deli service. Asked for a pound of corned beef, the deli guy didnt show me a slice like normal and then proceeded to slice up three fatty ends that came up short of a pound. I told him I ordered a full pound and he had attitude when he had to open a new one. In hindsight, I should have had him cut me a new pound from the new one. I think the guy is new there and he could use some customer service training.

I love how organized and clean Butera is, each employee in there are polite and quick with getting you out. The gentleman in the meat section are always great and polite. This is my favorite butera! All they need is to start selling sofrito.

I was so disappointed The imitation crab was supposed to be frozen till use I read the package at home then I realized when picked up the package in the store it wasnt frozen. Other brands are in the refrigerator so I didnt think anything of itIt was in a open freezer . Then I worried about the salmon I just bought had it defrosted then refrozen.it . I called the store instead if getting a refund because of covid I was told they couldnt do anything about it. I TOLD THE PERSON I TALKED TO, SOMEONE COULD GET VERY SICK ON DEFROSTED AND REFROZEN FISH THE BACTERIA COUNT COULD RAISE RAPIDLY AND AND SOMEONE COULD GET VERY SICK IF NOT WORSE.THIS IS A SERIOUS THING TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE THAT ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL FROM FISH MISS HANDLED IN A RESTAURANT AND IT DID NOT HAVE A FISHY ODOR. No problem with the rest of the store I did enjoy shopping there

Convenient market for lunch meat and meats. This was the only place I could find a half fresh turkey breast to make home made sliced turkey sandwiches w/o so much sodium.

I love shopping at Butera but here are my issues:1. Get more help to wait on customers in the butcher area. I shop on the weekend later in the afternoon and there is usually only one employee waiting on people. There is no system. I was waiting for meat for ten minutes and someone walked up on the fish side and got waited on before me.2. Have more of the sale items. Cooked chicken wings are often on sale and there are never any when I get there.3. Why do employees use the public bathroom? isnt there one in the back? Maybe this will sound wrong, but I dont want to hear employees grunting out a dump when Im thinking they may have touched my food. I have bladder issues and usually have to go while shopping and there is almost an employee in there.

I went to get the Pepsi and i guess i didnt read the ad all the way with having to buy 5 in order to get that price. I think that is just stupid put it at 5.99 for 2 you are just getting ridiculous with the prices. I was able to get many items that are cheaper at the jewel then your store. Im not sure if I will be coming back I guess i just have to read the ads better.

Nice grocery store with many fresh fruit and vegetable options. They need to add fresh Organic fruits & vegetables to the market. Has a nice selection of meats, dairy, packaged & canned items. They offer a deli for fresh meat, luncheon meats & cheeses. They have international foods on hand from many countries. They have great weekly specials, which cant be beat. Store has a warm atmosphere with usually Frank Sinatra music playing overhead.

Update: 3/2/2018We have stopped shopping at Butera in Lake in the Hills which is too bad because they are close and convenient. The meat counter has not improved and the display case is often dirty. Packages of chicken leak and make your hands sticky. Twice, meat and poultry we purchased spoiled in our refrigerator in just 1 or 2 days.Two stars is generous and Im leaving them up for the reasons given, but we wont shop here anymore.---Two good things which earn them a star each. 1.) Most of the staff who were left over from Joe Caputo and Sons try to be helpful. 2.) The store offers competition to Jewel across the street and keeps them competitive. That said...The transition from Joe Caputo and Sons to Butera Market (summer-fall of 2016) is about complete and that is unfortunate. The meat department in particular has suffered. The display cooler is frequently dirty and sometimes smells. On a recent visit, raw chicken had fallen out of the package was laying in the cooler for the entire time I was in the store. (See Photo) Right before I checked out I went back and looked and it was still there. The store was not particularly busy and there were staff available who had seen the spill.Weve lost the Caputo brand of sausage. Formerly, Joe Caputo and Sons could promise that their mild italian sausage was gluten free. Now Butera cant even tell me where it is made. One Meat Department employee claimed it was made in house, another said it was outsourced. Both told me that it was probably gluten free, but would not offer any proof or verification. My wife has celiac disease, so taking a chance is not an option.Instead of all choice meats, now there are cuts of utility grade beef offered at a discount price. T-bone for 2.99 a pound. They call it USDA inspected. Well of course because any beef sold in a store is inspected meat. They are hiding the actual grade of the meat by saying so. No marbling, very little if any intramuscular fat. This is utility grade or cutter and canner grade. Some steaks offered one day were almost certainly cutter and canner. You dont see T-bones with no intramuscular marbling graded select or choice.We usually buy low fat ground meat, but now you cant even be sure. Products carry conflicting labels (see Photo.)While so many things have changed, a few remain. The bakery is still a good bakery. The deli help is still slow, but they get the job done. There are still good choices in the produce department. Joe Caputo brand spices are gone. Hopefully the new brand can be verified as Gluten Free.Too many low-quality store-brand offerings have replaced what we used to buy.I realize we are probably still fortunate to have a store there that competes with Jewel. It was hoped they wouldnt change too many things.

Their products are quality, organic ones and such. I find wonderful frozen foods that I see nowhere else. They have great ginger cookies that I am addicted to.

2 weeks ago I called wanted to know how much the brisket was. The guy in the meat department told me he didn’t have time to look. Called back complained got the same guy and you could he took a guess. Today I called the deli looking for gyro and sauce. The said the had it . Battled Randall Rd, waited for my turn to order. Finished my deli order and was told they were out of tzaki sauce that they “might” have some sauce by Friday. Screw em. They have a bunch of idiots working there.

Great deli with reasonable prices..awesome produce section. Other items are pretty high priced. Chicken Kievs in the butcher shop were awful...pressed chicken, overly spiced, and very, very dry..they were about $4.50 each. I threw most of it away.

This place is fantastic for fresh fruit and vegetables. They have a great fresh meat department and real butchers. The deli is huge and has large varied selection of meats and cheeses. The bakery has a very tempting selection of beautiful cakes, cookies and breads.

Watch out for the meat. Ive brought 2 packs of chicken there they were spoiled.

This location was well stocked & cared for. Large store. We had stopped going to the South Elgin & Elgin locations as the stores were not being properly maintained. We were pleasantly surprised by this Randall Rd & Algonquin Rd location.

This place is great for fresh produce but the fairy is often not fresh and goes bad pretty fast. I limit shipping here to fresh produce only. Produce is at an affordable price, very fresh and theres a huge variety of stuff in this category too.

Ok... if youve never been here, you have to go! Its still basically Caputos grocery store (if you visited while that store chain was in business), but with a Butera brand. This means that you have the Caputos produce, meat, specialty foods, deli, and bakery still though! I was so excited because I havent been in a store like this for years. Lots of beautiful fresh produce, dried bulk foods and spices, ethnic foods, and a deli and bakery that I could live at. So good! Seriously. Go! You wont be disappointed.

Used to be Caputos Fresh Produce & Deli Mart and not much (if anything) changed when Butera took over. Excellent location for Deli and Produce along with a good Italian style bakery.

Prices were great and products in stock looked awesome. They offer a great variety of items many other local stores dont carry. Issue was that a lot of their sale items were out of stock. Today (Tuesday) was the last day of their current sale but there was no one available to determine if I could get a rain check or if their was stock elsewhere in the store. Cashiers were super busy so I didnt want to tie them down with doing a rain check so I just left with what I could find.

Best store in the Algonquin - Huntley - Carpentersville area for fresh produce, seafood, and deli. They usually have the greatest variety and best prices. Last week I bought a pint of blueberries for $1.49 while Jewel in Huntley was charging $3.99 for a half pint! Plus, they dont clutter the aisles like Jewel so shopping is easier.

They always have what I need. Employees are friendly and helpful.
