Great record store. You can find all kinds of records, from the old time rock & roll to the new music. If you are in the area I definitely recommend stopping by.

A hidden gem off the corner of Madison Street. Cozy little shop, reminds me of what I wanted my bedroom to look like in middle school. A grand selection of new and used vinyl. Decent pricing. Staff is very informative. I didn’t buy anything here today but this will be the first place I visit when I wanna get my hands on some vinyl.

Were from out of town and were happy to find Crooked Beat in Alexandria for Record Store Day 2021. The staff is nice and they have a good selection of new LPs and some used jazz and hip-hop.Most importantly, I was able to get the records I wanted for RSD.

Lots of records but not of rock/metal so I left disappointed so definitely a stop if you like old jazz, pop, etc.

This shop is fantastic. Reasonable prices, helpful and friendly staff, and a decent collection. Could use a bit more more metal and hip-hop, but the selections were extremely well organized and they kept track of all the stuff they had. Im from out of town but if I am ever back I will surely return!

Overall my experience was okay. There was an old white man sitting by the door and although he was helpful, it seemed as if he was annoyed or really bored, which made me uncomfortable. Though, the young woman was helpful and seemed nice! Their selection is pretty limited so I suggest that you check their website before making a trip here.

Poor customer service. I was there about three weeks ago, and I walked in and was not acknowledged. A man sitting on the right as you enter never acknowledged us, and didnt make us feel welcome. He seemed to be playing on a computer just sitting there. The reason I gave it two stars is because a young lady that was there also end it up coming around after making multiple inquiries. Not sure who that middled aged white man is, but not being acknowledged and feeling an unwelcoming vibe made me not want to return. I also got a response stating that they have no record of my visit. I suppose this is an intent to remove my rating. I did end up making around an $80 cash purchase, but I would have spent much more, and will mostly not be back. This is unfortunate as the place has so much potential.

This is the best record store in the area, actually, in lots of areas. Its especially good if you want good DC rock and some unusual finds. The owner knows A TON about music and can point you in the right direction. Im not sure Ive ever been in there when I didnt buy whatever he was playing in the shop. A DC staple.

I was record hopping with my dad in DC, and I think from all the record stores that we visited this one was the best, they even let me test out a couple of records. Next time I go to DC Ill check on these guys again!

Really nice store, the people running it definitely know their music. I was a little disappointed in the current stock of the used selection, but they make up for it with the number of new titles and reissues.

A great place to buy good quality vinyl records both new and second hand! Owner Bill always there to have a good chat with.Very relaxing environment to shop for special vinyl records or collections. And if you can not find what you want just let Bill know and he will do his best to order it for you.

Decent selection of records. Mainly newer vinyl and releases.

Disappointing experience. The man working was rude and dismissive ... and I was the only customer in the store. When he was done not helping me, I heard him take two phone calls. He was equally as unpleasant to those poor souls.This is why people turn their noses up to vinyl enthusiasts and record stores in general -- because theres a perception were all as snobby and miserable as this guy.

Glad to finally be able to visit a record store in the NoVA area. Decent selection for sure, though lacking in electronic music selections.

If youre into records this is an amazing store. Lots of new vinyl, some used. I dig the curated section up front of local-to-DC music, including punk from the 80s and 90s. Worth a visit even if you just want to remember what its like to shop for music in person from an independently owned store.

Great shop. It was well organized with an excellent selection of new and used records from most genres. The prices were a little higher than other shops, but it was worth it for the organization and selection.

Nice store with a good selection of new and used Vinyl. Nice to see a selection of local artists. I bought a tshirt and a very nice copy of Warren Zevon - Excitable Boy to take back to NH. Will visit next time Im in town.

Worth the trip out to Old Town! I always have a great time sorting through the stacks at Crooked Beat - theyve got a great mix of new and used vinyl, and a well curated section of local DC artists. Bill and staff are super knowledgeable.

I never realized this store was here until today. Even though it was very busy due to record store day, the stores shelfs were well organized, clearly marked, and had a wide selection. The staff was friendly with a lot of help available. I plan to return on a normal day, as I recommend a visit for vinyl lovers.

Always thrilled when I find a Ventures album I dont already own. I found two! Owner very knowledgeable and friendly. Great selection of vintage vinyl and new release or re release vinyl records. Pricing spot on. They werent giving it away, but I felt I got very good value. Found an album by the Blasters as well.

It is a local vinyl shop. Good feel. I was looking for something specific and quickly realized there is no look up to help me quickly find it. I internally laughed at myself for wanting a quick solution as the whole idea of getting into vinyls for me was to slow my life down a bit.

Finally a record store in Old Towne. Love this place. Great selection of new and used. Reasonably priced. Knowledge staff. Only complaint that I only had two hours to spend before my wife dragged me out.

My favorite record store in the DMV area. The Owner is very friendly and the store has a great selection and is organized in an easy to find system. I enjoy that they have a new release bin that highlights some great music, as well as their top 10 best selling records of the month/all time.

Focus is on newly released vinyls, which are marked a bit pricey despite supply not really being an issue. I dont recommend here for hunting for used vinyls and oddities, probably only makes up 30% of the small store.

This place rules, especially if you are looking for DC punk vinyl. But they have a little bit of everything!
