My daughter and I was able to stop by and kill some time here. We had lots of fun reading and looking at the games.

Was greeted at the door. Employee was knowledgeable and walked me to the book I was looking for. Super clean place. Smiles everywhere.

So happy this store is still here! It is our only bookstore about 2hrs in any direction. Thank you for the many choices. My only complaint would be that they have more hardback books in the store, rather than having to order online.

Don’t buy here, they don’t honor the refunds and returns policy. I just tried to make a return on a gift I bought. I brought it back just a day after I bought it , in perfect condition with the receipt ! I was told by the manager I could only get a gift card because the plastic film covering had been removed, so the books were ‘no longer sellable’ ?? Terrible customer service. Avoid here everything is double the price of Amazon anyways.

As always it was good. I forgot my wallet and they held my book for me until I came back. Very friendly. I fou d what I needed quickly.

Went in for a few books by my favorite author. Had a few on the shelf. Asked if they could order some gor me n said no. Was in a rush to get me and my wife out the store because they even asked me u know u need to hurry cuz u know we close in a little bit. I just told them I know and went about my business to search for what I needed since the three associates were all in their phones and no help whatsoever. I used to deal with the public, n that my friends is the complete opposite of customer satisfaction. Lost a customer for life due to 3 employees that simply were rude with no common courtesy and no intention of helping the customer but every intention of having their damn nose in a phone. Thanks BAM!

Great book selection; they are more than happy to order in anything that they don’t immediately have for you. The little cafe area is nice as well and the coffee there has always been good.

Got this book super cheap. Have good bargin deals there. Also used books for good prices .

The prices can be pretty high, but there are clearance sections worth crying over. I never spend less than an hour here because it is so much to take in. I love this bookstore. The clerks are always helpful and the book sections are easy to find. They do buy back used books, but its for pennies and dimes. I still appreciate the service just to get some books off my hands and make some room for the new books I get here!

I walked in there and the vibe was really chill and welcoming. As I’m browsing through the books selection I buy my sisters some drinks and the guy making the drinks was very friendly, they tasted amazing. When I needed help finding a certain book the staff was very helpful and polite. BAM! Is one of my favorite places. If I could give them 10 stars I would but I’ve only got the five.

Awesome experience. They were able to help me find the books I was looking for despite the vague memory of what it was about. Loved their customer service. Also if you are looking for used books they have a great selection.

Always love to find a good book store. They have a great variety, they were however, out of the book we were searching for and their price for ordering the book is the same as you would pay if you were ordering yourself. The staff is very friendly of course they have great lil extras throughout the store.

I love this place!!! The atmosphere is so relaxing and fun, and they have just about any kind of book youre looking for, from action, romance, new age, crime drama, kids books, etc. My 3 year old twins even loved it because it has toys available there. The employees are friendly and helpful as well. I will definitely go back there.

Cool collection of everything. But only dislike realized our movie picks were not in their cases. After returning to store to get them clerk said sorry all movies we picked out were not actually available. Real disappointed!!

Trying to find an employee on the floor was impossible. When I finally found one, she was sitting behind the counter on her phone. I asked her if she knew whether or not the store carried a particular book, she was of no help at all. I walked out to my vehicle and ordered the book from Amazon. Should have done that in the first place. I wasted a lot of time searching the store on my own.

Its one of the few remaining elements of popculture in the Central Louisiana area (as of Summer 19). While the Manga and Graphic Novels/Comic Compilation Volumes are of a respectable count, they have changed their handling of individual comics and no longer have new releases of individual comic issues. Its in a decent location despite the aforementioned concerns.

Always a good experience shopping here. They almost always have what I am looking for. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

Other than a principle employee standing by the front door smoking a cigarette on the look out(?). Sometimes employees lose site of why they are there.its a typical nice book store with a small coffee shop. Coffee is good and service is friendly. The store is well maintained and so the missing BNobles in this town is not a big deal.

I was not happy with my experience today. There were four workers and they were all congregated behind the register. Never came out when I needed help. Also I was unaware of their return policy. I can understand if you dont have a receipt you cant return something, but then the worker said they would exchange...as long as you had a receipt. I wouldnt exchange a book for the same book so this made no sense to me. When I asked if we could exchange one book for another in the same series I was told no. They just werent very helpful and honestly the store was a mess. Too much merchandise in a small area. I wish we had more options in town.

Huge book store with a great coffee shop inside. With the closing of the Hastings store, this is the go-to place for Alexandria. They have a large variety of book categories, as well as comics and gifts. Its clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and willing to help.

Very friendly and helpful staff. It had been many years since going into a Books-A-Million, and was surprised to see how nice it was, especially being a stand alone building. I did not get to try the coffee shop, but there were numerous people in line for a beverage. I look forward to my next return.

Have always shopped BAM online so was jazzed to see an actual store. Was a little disappointed with the reference/study material but bought quite a few magnets, calligraphy pens and travel books. Will be back next time in the area. A pleasant way to wile away some time on a Sunday afternoon.

The inside of the store always seems neat and well kept. Not so much for the bathrooms. The staff is polite and helpful but not annoyingly helpful (a plus imo). They have a pretty wide selection and offer to order anything they dont have. The coffee is alright (I had a mocha). The bathrooms could really use some help though. They look and feel dated and dirty, they often dont have toilet paper. Everything else is fine though.

Its Alexandrias only bookstore now that Hastings has closed. The coffee shop is nice, the toy selection is good, and there is a decent selection of books. It would be nice to have a kids play area (like Barnes And Noble often does) with train tables and benches for parents to sit on and read while their kids play or a stage with fun activities for kids (book readings, etc).

Clean, quiet, entertaining. They have a great selection fandom gifts, books and shirts. Lots of blind bags, surprise boxes that you cant find in many other places in town. A great kids section that even has lots of the trending toys. A FULL rack ( wall) of magazines and a nice selection of Bibles in many different translations. A great place to purchase a gift card for that hard to buy for person in your life. Also, a coffee shop built right in!! Thats always a plus!!

Good selection of new releases and classics (awesome deal on classics, check it out). I couldnt give BAM a four or five because it is a bit loud to do any reading and the cafe is pricey without the quality to back it up. Still, not a bad bookstore.

Excellent variety of books as well as vinyls, pop culture trinkets, popfunk figures, board games, magazines, ect. sections are all labeled and easy to find. customer service just okay. not many employees on the floor to help. otherwise, great coffee shop in store and lounge chairs available to sit and sample books, read and relax.

Love to visit the stacks, drink coffee with friends and indulge my reading addiction. The staff is very accommodating and the selection is great. My only complaint is that the mens bathroom always needs attention. It doesnt smell good at all, is dark and dingy. If they could update the bathroom and keep it clean theyd earn that 5th star.

Nice store where you can drink coffee, tea, etc while looking over a stack of books you are considering purchasing. Prices much higher than buying on line of course.

Enjoyed with my three grandchildren the twins are 6 years old and the brother is 3 every one of them enjoy there self had books and games and toys that they enjoyed looking at also picking up these items and enjoyed it more this was their first time and were going back on the weekend we went at 3 p.m. the atmosphere was wonderful for children and there were more children there enjoying Books-A-Million

Too bad books aren’t as necessary as they used to be. I read mostly on my tablet, but I used to spend my spare time and money here. The online site will let you know if a particular book is available at the local store, that’s very helpful. The layout used to be better. It’s a little confusing to find what you’re looking for, and not much help on the floor.

A good book store! Im glad this place and Hastings are here. Great place to take the family on a weekend and browse. Theyve got all kinds of things at Book-A-Million, and it seems to be well-organized and stocked.

One of the fanciest places in Cenla. So much to choose from. You can literally spend hours in this store and probably literally spend hundreds in those hours.

This location is still closed as of October 20 due to damage from hurricane Laura, but Google thinks it is still open.

Love to wander through a bookstore with a hot cup of coffee. Staff is helpful. The buying club is a deal if you go regularly and can be used in the cafe as well.

Really good at advertising for its events, but the events themselves I find lacking. Some BAMs have sections for children that have the little seats and chairs for them to relax and little things to keep them busy, this one does not.Other than these two things its an amazing store, the staff is personable and helpful. And the coffee! D-licious!

Ive been having good luck with the staff lately finding books. The reference desk is usually where a bookstore is either make or break, and it seems they have some staff that actually cares now. Its not the best book store Ive ever been too but its a good one. And its the only one in Alexandria. I like that they still sell books, some book stores have gotten too far away from books to try and keep up with the times. When I go to a book store I dont want to be surrounded by the latest as seen on TV pancake flipper and automatic sock self installers. I like it when they stick to books and similar things.

Quiet and you can smell the COFFEE. Seating is nice not crowded. Nice gifts too.

Was offered 3 free magazine subscriptions and when I asked Brenda (I think) (red hair, glasses, lots of makeup) if my card would be charged, I was told no. This was a lie. After the 2nd free magazine, your card will be charged for a full year subscription for each of the free magazines that were offered to you. Please avoid these free magazines and the lies they tell you. This should be illegal.

They are always changing the products around. You run in to pick up something, you go were you went last time and they have moved it.

I really enjoy our Books A Million. The bathrooms could be a little cleaner, and sometimes the merchandise gets in disarray. Other than that, its a nice place to go and study or look for the next weekend read.

Best chain brick and mortar book store I have been to. Would highly reccomend going in if even just to have a cup of coffee which for being a no name coffee company they make an awesome cup off coffee/foo-foo drinks [I couldnt think of a better word for it]

One of only a handful of places in Alex where xenoculture exists. Unfortunately it arrives with too many sales pitches, especially at the register. Good selection of standards and oddities.
