I have been going to Eyeworks for many years. While the front desk staff efficiency has varied over the years (this is not uncommon in my experience in NM), the care I get from Dr. Mamdani is always excellent. She takes her time and gives personalized attention. I dont buy glasses here so I cant comment on that, but the care I receive from Dr. Mamdani is top notch. I went recently (2021) and everyone was masked, front desk staff were pleasant and efficient and answered all my questions, there were minimal people in the shop (unlike another optometrist I had to go to while out of town during the pandemic whose shop was filled with people!), I had a minimal wait, left with my new prescription and options for contacts or glasses. I will be back.

I have been going to Eyeworks Optical, under the care of Dr. Mamdani since 2017. I like the professionalism and friendliness of the staff and that they accept my insurance. I will keep using this office for my vision needs as they are excellent.

The only reason I went here was because they accepted my insurance for glasses. I talked to the front desk and explained I needed an eye exam and glasses and she said no problem. So she set my appointment for a week later and when I go in I find out they dont sell glasses! They are an optical shop that doesnt sell OPTICS! I have no idea how good or bad the doctor is but the fact they dont have glasses and couldnt tell me that beforehand is unacceptable. Avoid at all costs!

I had a great experience with Dr. Mamdani, she answered all of my questions and was helpful with information related to my interest in LASIK. I highly recommend her!

The last time I went to this eye doctor they told me my insurance wouldn’t cover my glasses. I called the insurance and they informed me that my glasses were covered and the office should have called to verify before denying my glasses. This time I tried to schedule and appointment they left me on hold for 5 minutes while they looked up insurance and then hung up and I couldn’t get anyone to answer for about 10 minutes. I also tried to take me son for an appointment they would not let anyone in the room with him I explained this was his first visit and he was scared and they would not see him if he couldn’t go alone. Mind you he was only 5 years old. Very unwelcoming and unprofessional.

I am diabetic Dr. Mandami has expertise in diabetes, I have been a patient of Dr. Mandami four several years she monitors the eye to insure the diabetes is under control. The staff was outstanding also I am very pleased with the service Dr. Mandami is a true professional.

My compliments and appreciation to Dr Mamdani for her professionalism. Her work helped me obtain proper prescription eyeglasses and Im happy I can see clearly again. I also wish to thank Stephanie for her valuable and patient service accamodating both my wife and I which certainly has been very encouraging, thus weve recommended other family members and theyve consulted with Dr Mamdanis clinic. Great Doctor makes sure you understand your diagnosis and prescription, very informative. Staff is very friendly. You are not treated like a number. You do have a pulse, and are treated like it. My son and I went in today for the first time and I was very impressed!! Amazing staff all around! My eye doctor of 20+ years retired last year so I was hesitant to find a new doctor. The doctor we saw was very nice and helpful. He made myself and my son feel valued and took his time to answer all my questions. Cody also did an amazing job helping us to find new glasses and to fit us with them. Highly recommend!

This place is great I have VSP insurance and its so easy to use here, it makes my glasses purchase so affordable. Staff is great never have I had to wait for my appointment, or for help when selecting frames, and they are very accommodating if you need to maybe say move your appointment time a little. Also Dr Mamdani is amazing I never stress when it comes time to make my yearly eye appointment.

My family has been going to Dr. Mamdani for several years. I appreciate the weekend and evening hours. The longest Ive had to wait for an appointment was two weeks. Dr. Mamdani always takes time to review everything and will answer all questions in a way thats understandable. Shes very personable and my children feel at ease with her. The one downside is the optical shop. The selection has not been as expansive as in the past and feels dated.

I am very upset with this office. It took me a long while to find a new Optometrist because due to COVID my employment changed and had to get Medicaid. The Dr. of the Practice is AMAZING! She genuinely cares for her patients and was very sweet when she shared her pregnancy journeys with me as I’m having a high risk pregnancy. As for the staff, when I ordered my glasses I was told the turn around time was 2 to 3 weeks because they are behind. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited before I called. I called Yesterday asked about my glasses being ready or not. They placed me on a long hold and had to call me back. When I was called, phone call came through just fine.... My answer I got was, the frames I picked out were no longer in stock and couldn’t do the order. I was told the day after my glasses were ordered someone at the office called my phone, left me a voicemail to call back. I NEVER received a single call or voicemail. If I did I would have called back. I was also told the phone call and voicemail mail was documented on two different occasions. ( Was told they tried to call me the following day and left me a voicemail) I once again NEVER received a single call or voicemail. I pulled my phone long from the service provider and my voicemail log and nothing. So basically after two “attempts” to reach customers they just give up and don’t bother calling again. This needs to be addressed and is very bad customer service. I will NOT be ordering my glasses or contacts from this office. No offense to the Dr, she is amazing but I can’t afford to wait another month and have dishonesty with staff.

This was my first experience with Eyeworks as I’ve transferred from Visionworks. Eyeworks was extremely busy attempting to see as many customers as possible prior to the New Year so customers benefits don’t expire. Anyhow, the Optometrist was very knowledgeable and the staff were welcoming. I will most definitely be transferring the rest of my family’s care to Eyeworks.

I went in to look for glasses, no one asked if i needed help. It was about 15 minutes til I asked a staff member if I could look at a pair behind the glass. The 2 ladies behind the counter sighed very loudly (rude) and got the ones I looked for. Then the nurse looks at me up and down and asks if I have insurance and how Im paying. Then once I found a pair, the woman with dark hair and glasses helped me and she made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and just a friendly worker was ridiculous. I got my glasses & contacts ordered, but that was the worst experience I ever had. May consider going somewhere else after that.

Got an eye exam and ordered glasses on the 4th of this month. I was then told Youre glasses will be done in 2 weeks and I still have yet to recieve my glasses. Its Feb 25th today and I got no clear answers besides Oh, it should be in the next day, Oh, we had a delay in weather so it should be in next week,It says it finally got shipped, itll be in this weekend and It should be in tomorrow, if not well give you a call and see what we can do. Didnt get that call yesterday, called this morning and yet noo glasses. Got told Oh we just got a shipment, if its in theyll give you a call later. Maybe Im over reacting but this is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! I spent $550 on one pair to take 3 weeks maybe longer to even get here? Maybe you should be telling future customers glasses will be ready in 2 to 4 weeks maybe longer if weather delays so they have time to just cancel their order and get it else where thatll actually take 2 weeks. Im trying to give them the benfit of the doubt because it could be the so call labs fault, if soo where do I leave a negative review for them? Im giving them a 2 just because the only great part was the eye exam it self but the Optician side thats a 1 star.

Great outcome to my first return visit after 13 years. Friendly, competent staff personnel, and outstanding doctors on the premises! They are thorough, communicative, and talented medical professionals that really have your eye health, first and foremost as their highest priority. Dr. Fritz and Dr. Tina are exceptional! I heartily recommend, without....reservation!

Dr. Mamdani is amazing! She is knowledgeable, confident, funny and makes you feel comfortable while in her care.

The only issues i have is that i was charged $10 extra just because i used my own frames. They also made me sign a paper that says if they damaged or lost my frames i would not hold them responsible regardless if i used my own frames or bought them there.

Called on a Friday they were able to schedule me on Saturday morning. I called Saturday morning to confirm my time and they were able to move my appointment early! Everyone was super friendly and the optometrist was super friendly and answered all of my questions! I was in and out and was able to pick out my new glasses!

If you are looking for an Optical shop, you could not find a better place. You are treated like a person and not a patient. They clearly are concerned about your well-being and have taken great steps to keep both customers and staff safe. I would never go anywhere else.

They were very helpful and made me aware of my stigmatism. I opt to have the scan since I was Diabetic and have high cholesterol. Also they were very nice since I had a 2 yr old running around. They kept his attention while I got my tests. I would recommend this business to others in my family and friends. I will continue to go through Eyeworks for all my needs when it comes to glasses and my health.

I read many of these reviews just now and totally agree with the negative ones. Dr. Tina M is fine, but the STAFF IS TERRIBLE, COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT CONSTITUTES GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. They portray an attitude that is condescending, let them wait, they stand around looking stunned, 80% dont know how to answer even the simplest questions & have to ask another person on staff. Their answer to almost everything is take a seat & wait.I went with my daughter for her eye exam appointment. We got there on time, checked in, the office did not appear particularly busy, & we sat there waiting. The staff was behind the desk & they didnt call us, they didnt call any others. Finally I said, our appointment time was 20 minutes ago & weve been sitting here & no one has told us a thing, why are we waiting? THEN the guy said hed get us started. What would have happened if I hadnt spoken up?For my eyes, I had had my exam elsewhere & went to Eyeworks for my glasses to be made because they are on our insurance. Even with my insurance, my glasses would have been $280 + tax. A friend suggested Costco; I have a membership. Surprisingly they take my insurance. For the equivalent glasses, my cost was $80 + tax! Their staff is far more professional & speedy. Even if I hadnt run it through our insurance it would have been cheaper paying out of pocket than Eyeworks! Anyway, I love Costco, but this review isnt about them.I can recommend Dr. Tina M for your exam, IF you can bear dealing with the front desk personnel, but take your prescription elsewhere to get filled!

I’ve been trying to order contacts for almost a month and every time someone answers I get put on hold for 20-30 minutes each time or no one even answers at all!

Terrible experience!! Poorly trained staff. Only thing that was nice was my time with the doctor. I was given the wrong information during my exam on Friday 3/29/19 about what exactly my insurance would cover. After spending $116 I was called the next day to be told that there was a mixup and I still owed more money. And that my frames would not be sent out until I paid the additional costs. Being that it was their mix up I feel like they should have put the order in and I could have paid the additional costs once I picked up my frames. On the following Monday I called my insurance company and they told me that they billed out for an eye exam, contact exam and for frames. I didn’t even order frames through them at that point so why was I billed for them? I was under the impression that my frames weren’t going to be ordered until until I had paid additional fees. My insurance company sent me a copy of my benefits and it says $0-$10 for my copay for a contact exam. When I spoke to the staff and told them that, I got laughed at and was told that they had it pulled up on their end too and that I was incorrect. Why would my insurance send me the wrong information? At this point all the this place wants is money and they will do anything to get it. I requested my prescription and an itemized receipt be sent to me by email and I have yet to receive that... almost a month later. What a terrible way to run a business. I am not happy with them at all. I feel like I should get my money back for the exam as well since they have no desire to give me my records. I paid them for something And got nothing in return. Those are my records and I have every right to have a copy of them. I regret choosing to go here. I was there for almost 2 hours! And I was by myself. I walked around for at least 20 minutes trying to pick out frames for myself and no one helped me. I have been going to an optometrist since I was in the 3rd grade. It has NEVER taken that long for an appointment!! And I was accompanied with my three other siblings and my mother, all of which were also being seen the same day as I was! STAY AWAY!!!!!! If they had an option for zero stars that’s what I would give them!

I took my wife in last Friday for an exam and glasses. We got her first pair of glasses there about 4 or 5 years ago. She was happy with the glasses she got then and wanted to go back. They have new equipment that my wife was impressed with. The entire staff were all friendly, prompt and courteous. They did insurance pre-screening ahead of time, and gave us an appointment confirmation call. The waiting period when she arrived was short. The doctor and staff were very thorough in the exam and the extra test my wife had done. The glasses have been ordered and were sure they will be just what she needed. Overall, both experiences were pleasant.and we will certainly be recommending them and returning ourselves.

Dr Mamdani is outstanding! Shes been my eye doc for years, and Ive always been very happy with her knowledge, kind manner and professional treatment. The office staff is outstanding, also! Highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an excellent eye doctor.

My kids and I have been going here for the last 7 years now. They are always so great with us. They give us about 5-7 business days turn around for our glasses but usually its within hours the same day or 24 hours we get them. As long as we live in the Albuquerque area they have my familys business.

We have used Eyeworks for a couple of years, driving over an hour for appointments. Dr. Mamdani is wonderful! She thoroughly explains treatment and also is great with our two children (who wear glasses). Highly recommend!

This is my first time with Dr. Mamdani, who I felt was very knowledgeable and easy to understand about the problems with my eyes and cared about the patient. Employees fitting the glasses were very helpful in finding styles. If I had one critique it would be that the front desk is knowledgeable on individuals insurance and insurance prices and cheapest cost to the costumers.
