At some point in time your vehicle will need some form of maintenance. Oil changes are one of the most frequent service maintenance types your car will need throughout its ownership. With this in mind I went to Midas on Menaul for my oil change. This is the first time that I have gone to this Midas location.Most Midas locations have specials on some services. Be sure to call ahead of time to make an appointment and find out about current specials.I called to make an appointment, and was greeted professionally by a staff member. When I was there, several individuals were getting different types of maintenance. One person was getting a muffler, another an oil change, lastly there was a customer who was getting some advance work on his vehicle. Im not sure what this individual had done to his vehicle, but I do know that he was extremely pleased with the price and the service that he received. He was so happy in fact that he brought a homemade apple pie straight from the oven to the Midas shop. It had the kinda of crust that Goldilocks would trade her porridge for.Now my service was good - - - I just didnt bring them a homemade pie made with apples from my personal apple tree, that was baked in my oven! Thats a testament and commercial about good customer service if I ever heard one. Yes believe it or not that actually happened (Apple pie is pictured).I like how Midas gives you suggestions for work on your car. They want to make sure that your vehicle is in top condition. Some things have more precedence over others. So fix what is mandatory or what you can afford. The oil change itself took around 30 minutes total. This location does have a smaller parking lot so it was difficult park my car for my appointment. Here is a photo of my oil 9.8 miles (!!!) after an oil change at the Menaul Midas location. Usually my husband does our car maintenance but just this once we decided to job it out. He checked the oil afterward to double-check and noticed it was substantially overfilled (and suspiciously dirty) so drained the oil out to the appropriate level. Thankfully he did so because this is what we found out the oil looked like 9.8 miles after the supposed change. In addition to the damage to our car engine we narrowly avoided, there is no way the job we paid for was done. Weve reported this to the BBB, State Attorney General, and Midas Corporate Office and are also posting here to make sure as many people as possible are aware of this grifting business.

The guys there worked to solve my alignment issues on my 2015 Explorer. They replaced all 4 tie rods and did the alignment... and sold & installed 4 news tires as well... all in under 2 hours. Thank you!!

If anyone is buying parts through this company you are absolutely being ripped off!! For a brake job they quoted us $695 for parts alone no labor.. then proceeded to tell us we wont find parts anywhere else for cheaper.. like get out of here $114 for a single set of brake pads not even auto zone screws you that hard. I bet they werent even OEM!! Take your business to a mechanic who actually cares!!

Needed new tires. Well 4 to be exact. Mike handled the replacement and mounting of said 4 tires. Mike was patient and pleasant. He made sure i was comfortable and went about his work. He didnt mind me asking questions, he continued to work as he answered. The tires took an hour. Only because they had three cars ahead of me. I was actually quite pleased with how long it took them to complete the job.

Michael the store manager was extremely helpful & educated. I will not take my vehicle to anyone else. He explained everything to me in a way that I was able to understand. 10/10

Ive gone to multiple midas locations for years. Most midas locations are great but this is one of few exceptions. They quoted me an obsered amount for what I wanted done and I knew from my experience that I could get it done for cheaper through connections at work. Just out of curiosity I stopped at Meineke after I picked my vehicle up and the quoted me less than half of what Midas quoted.

Were able to get me in quick. Were able to keep my vehicle until correctly diagnosing it without having to guess or say this might be the problem. Thank you Midas for your knowledge and keeping my family safe on the road.

I highly appreciated the professionalism and honesty of the staff at this location. I was told at the Dodge dealership that I needed an alignment. Evidently, and in hindsight, it was to make money off of me. I took my truck to this location to get an alignment and they advised me that I was not in need of one. They didn’t charge me a diagnosis fee, nor did they charge me a dime for anything else. I will definitely be returning to this location for future alignments and maintenance

Horrible shop! Never going here again! I showed up early to my appointment. They told me the oil change would take 30 to 45 minutes. I waited for 1 hour in their lobby past my appointment time before they pulled my car in their shop. They rushed the work so fast I question whether the oil and filter were changed. Then the manager Michael Smith had the nerve to try and sell me an air filter and additional services as if they were doing me a favor.

These guys are amazing! I always bring my vehicles in and there always ways straight forward and willing to help in any way they can. I highly recommend them. I didnt have the money to replace or fix my vehicles when I came in but they were wonderful enough to let have a credit line with there financial department which covers my repairs with no out of pocket expense. With affordable payments. Just a quick application process and I was approved. Definitely a load off my mind.

These guys are AWESOME!! I used to change my oil at jiffy lube but these guys here are much more quicker! They rotate my tires(for free) upon request. Michael youre the best! Keep up the great work. ALWAYS a customer.

I got an oil change done here and the cost was much better than most any place I have been. They also notified me of a couple problems, took the time to go over it and gave me repair prices that were better than other places quoted me. I will use this location more often

Attempted an A/C recharge at this shop. They didnt take but 1 look at it and basically said that because autozone freeon was in my vehicle it would destroy their machine because what autozone carries has a sealant which is essentially the same thing theyd use and i would have to pay to get a brand new one put in actually look at it and left it running the whole time it wasnt being worked on. Other than that the trash talking about customers to other customers is absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional. Telling people they have problems they dont seems to be something they have no remorse about.

I called to inquire if they accept Groupons just to be sure and the person I spoke to said not to buy it because theyll just give me the oil change for the price its listed on Groupon so they wont have to give Groupon 50%. When I was given the receipt before they started to work on my car, the subtotal was higher than the price on Groupon. When I asked the guy (short dude with gauges) about it he said it was from taxes. The breakdown clearly had a supplies fee added. I told him thats now how Groupons work. He said something like, Were trying to cover the cost of supplies. Again, thats now how Groupons work. Its not the customers problem. Dont offer Groupons if youre going to freak out about the cost and try to squeeze money out of people. Stay away from this location, if you can. Theyre shady.

Not only that BUT HE DIDNT REFUND ME FOR WHAT I ALREADY PAID FOR. I WILL BE CONTACTING MY LAWYERS. And as far as an owner response goes, dont waste your time asking me to send in feedback with a stupid link. GET YOUR MANAGER UNDER CONTROL

Excellent customer service

Poor customer service. Unfriendly, spoke somewhat rudely to people. 4 different customers came in with Groupons, and the manager asked everyone to skip groupon next time; that he would give them the same price, and then he wouldnt have to give 50% to Groupon. He was happy for the business he is benefiting from, but doesnt want to pay for it. Of course they tried to upsell. I asked if they would check the tires because the low tire light was on. They said they would, but they didnt. I wont go to Midas for an oil change in the future. Get better service, faster and for less money at other companies.

I went in for an oil change and they did a checkup on my vehicle and told me I needed a new battery. The battery I currently have is only a year old so I knew that wasn’t accurate. They kept telling me I needed a new one and that I should get it today. I said no multiple times. They were pushy about it and finally they told me “well I give your car a week before it stops working so don’t say I didn’t warn you”. I left and got it checked at interstate battery and they checked it for me and told me that my battery was fine. That I still have a good 4/5 years before it needs to be replaced. They were also charging a ridiculous amount for my power steering and brake flush. Those two things are $7 each but the labor charge was almost $70 EACH. I will not be coming back to this location.

WOMEN BEWARE: they saw me coming and all they saw was dollar signs. I went for an oil change and was told I needed $3,200 in repairs. I know about older cars and can complete most repairs, but on this newer car, Im still learning. So I got a second opinion, because I could not afford those repairs. Since there was such a drastic difference in the cost of the repairs, I decided to get a third opinion. Found out all I need is an alignment, same estimate as the second opinion. ($90 at most places). I will NOT return to this location for any service needed on my vehicle, and will seriously need to consider ever going to any Midas going forward.

I will no longer go there it is the worst experience I have ever had they did the wrong work on my car wanted me to pay for it then wanted to charge me out the window for a job that should have originally been done they lie to you and say you got no proof beware of Midas on 7000 menaul. Complete scam artist. Quoted me for battery replacement at $250 + installation cost and said they were the ONLY ones that can still get Diehard batteries. They seems to prey on women, assuming we will fall for the fear tactics. He put the pressure on for sure. Called Advance Auto parts, they had the same battery in stock and installed it for $185 out the door. I could say more, but BEWARE of this Midas location.

Michael Smith is an exceptional store manager for this Midas location. Full restoration of my Camero and so far so good. The customer service is genuine and the mechanical work on both my vehicles is as good as can be. I wont go to any other shop for my vehicles.

While I was sitting in the waiting room I saw this manager again and again try to up-sell every single customer that came in the door...he would tell them that their vehicle needed extra repairs and or parts.... Then came my turn, he tried to turn my simple wheel alignment into an almost $3,000 job!!! WoW, I guess the sad part is that some unsuspecting customers will fall for this scam.

If I can put a zero stars I would. I came into the shop in July. I had to get new engine mounts on my car and the exhaust system check because I was in an accident. They told me that they will keep it under 2 thousand. When i picked up my car they told me its going to be 3 thousand for everything and offered me a program to cover the rest. I signed up on the program and that was my biggest mistake ever Im now three grand in the hole and in debt with my bank because of them. To top it all off they put all my parts wrong in my car so now Im figuring out how to fix everything out in my car so if you guys ever want to get your car repaired do not go to this place cuz youll be f*****

The services done here is excellent. The manager is very kind and does an excellent jod. Highly recommend for a good car maintenance and alignment.

They wanted to charge me $3000 for a front end alignment that ended up needing only 2 parts that cost less than $200. Including the alignment and tire rotation. Probably because Im female? Was not born lady night.

I didnt go to midas

Do not come here horrible experience waited hours for parts. Thought they were being honest about my vehicle. Not at all telling me the control arms need to be replaced. Also I paid for wind shield wipers they didn’t even put new ones on. I drove off with the same old ones. I was just there for an oil change was told all kinds of other stuff to be done. I called spoke to mike he says my guys won’t lie there honest and I’ll see in a few months. Really honest when u didn’t even put the wipers on that’s being honest??! Glad I got a second opinion. Don’t come here unless u want to get ripped off, waste time and days. Also didn’t even put the bolts back on the plastic covering on the inside of hood. Sucked wasted time, days and energy over nothing. Thanks Midas for nothing. Would of given no stars if I could of.

My parents recently took their vehicle to Midas on Menaul Blvd for an oil change and they were told that the vehicle needed a few things that were costly. They decided to take it to Nissan for a second opinion since they thought it was odd it needed all that work because their vehicle is pretty new (2018) and runs good. So at Nissan they told them that their vehicle is in perfect condition and that it did not need any work that Midas had told them. Im very upset because Midas wanted to take advantage of my folks being that they are older. I and my family will never ever take our vehicles to Midas ever again. Do not trust Midas and if you go there get a second opinion.

I had the best service when I took my car for an oil change. I forgot the gentlemans name but he was on top of it and very friendly. Im happy to have switched to this location just due to the customer service

I had an appt. at 11 and wasnt ready for 2 hrs. The sir I was dealing with was taking everyone else without a Groupon first. Not to mention when I got in my car it still veers to the right.

Good tools cheap, plus, if you get their coupons online, they can be even cheaper. My favorite thing is they offer free stuff with any purchase. Good stuff, usually wort about 7 bucks, just for buying a candy bar!

My parents recently took their vehicle to Midas on Menaul and Louisiana for an oil change and they told them their 2018 vehicle needed several work done. Which they thought it was strange since it’s a 2018. They took it to Nissan for a second opinion and they were told that their vehicle is in perfect condition and does not need any of the items that Midas said. This frustrates me because Midas wanted to take Advantage of my parents being that they’r older! It’s upsetting. Do not trust Midas!!!! I and my family will never take our vehicles there ever again.

Took my truck in for a four wheel alignment through Groupon and was told by Mike Smith the manager that my bearings needed to be repacked for $350.00 or the alignment would not work. I declined all of his high pressure sales tactics and he became noticeably irritated. I had a feeling that the alignment wouldn’t be done properly after and sure enough it was not. They only adjusted the Toe setting and left the Caster and Camber adjustments way off and didn’t even tell me or give me the option to have it fixed. When I asked him why the print out of the before and after for the Camber was still way off and questioned him why they didn’t do a complete adjustment he told me the Groupon “only covers the Toe adjustment and it’s in the fine print.” I had taken my truck to Big O last time I needed an alignment and they adjusted all angles without any problems or additional fees. I asked him how much more to do a complete alignment and he wouldn’t even give a set price. He told me they would charge me by the hour and it would take an hour and a half and could be an additional $150.00. Mike was very smug and condescending with his approach which didn’t make wasting $60.00 for a non-alignment any easier. I called the other Midas on Juan Tabo offering the same Groupon and he told me it would be $30.00 more for a full alignment. No wonder they have to do Groupons to get business in the door. STAY AWAY!

When they say it will be a hour and half and it was 3 and a half hours. Service people seem to not know what to do to remove the shocks. When you pay large amount money you would think they would know what to do.

I was replacing the rear springs on the struts of my golf cart with some heavier duty ones, and I couldn’t get the new one’s compressed. I took it to two other places who tried and failed to help me. Midas on Menaul was able to succeed where other failed, and they charged me a very fair price. Based off of my experience, I would highly recommend them.

After an oil change from this Midas shop I ended up having to drag my oil pan cover for two hours on a road trip. I called and very nicely asked for a replacement to only receive sass. No respect to customers and very sloppy work. This is why you have to do everything yourself.

Always nice and helpful. Just remember to go in to any shop pre informed. Period! But these guys in my few visits gave great service and even discounted me for a basically brand new truck front wheel alignment. Its not new since it is a 2204 but has only 23.5k miles. And barely had an off alignment. So awesome of them. But didnt do a supposed test drive to see if it might even need an alignment before doing any service. Bummer, 1 star off for that.

Its a wonderful place

Taken advantage of as a female and strong armed into buying a full synthetic oil change when my car didnt require it. Tried to leave and then the manager came out and told me I was making a mistake. Complained to corporate and after 4 phone calls and several emails they still did nothing for me. $17.76 special cost me almost $60.00, never again. Dont go to any Midas, especially the o e on Menaul in Albuquerque.

Terrible experience. They quoted me $4000.00 to fix my car when it was only a $125.00 hose that needed to be replaced. I got a 2nd & 3rd opinion at other auto shops who both told me it was the hose only that needed to be replaced. MIDAS was trying to scam me saying my whole power steering system needed to be replaced. I cant believe it. Im glad to know I wasnt the only victim as per other reviews.

Good oil change but tried to upsell me on a variety of advertised services. For an example I was told that the advertised brake pads were of such low quality that the mgr. refuses to install them because he does not consider them to be safe but the ones that are twice the price are.

Worked with Nathan the shop manger. He was very friendly and helpful! I needed new brakes, alignment and oil change and they had a special on a free oil change with brake repair which was awesome. Their prices are very fair. They also did a multi point inspection and let me know which other maintenance items Ill need soon. All around great experience. I will be coming back.

Great service and the best people. I have been going there for years and its always the same great service. When I go in because my tires are low and dash light is on. They take care of it no charge. Very Trustworthy wont take my car anywhere else.

The mechanics did not observe COVID precautions and they were 45 minutes over the time they said it would be finished.

I imagine that some of the problem here may be the policy and pricing practices dictated by corporate Midas because Will and his team are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Good customer service cant make up for a lack of genuine honesty and downright malicious pricing. For a simple brake job that I had done elsewhere for $300 they quoted me over $1,300 MORE. They do honor their policy of a free inspection though - for that Ill give them an extra star. Im sure for oil changes and the like they do great work at fair prices, but the act of price gouging your customers by auto shops is a practice that needs to die, and this place is a top offender.

Wow! Theyve taken the BEST care of me and my car. I was nervous about price and honesty, having a BMW for the first time. They drove me to and from work plus were VERY honest! This last visit, I was charged NOTHING, because the fix was so easy. This is my place!!! 5 stars...

Went in this morning because I had a coupon for an oil change. The gentleman who checked me in was very helpful and even offered me the remote to watch Netflix. The mechanic got me in and out. This location is far from my home but Ill definitely be back to have them work on my vehicle😊. Their customer service was awesome!!!!

My mistake for thinking an appointment reserved a time for them to generally see you. I had an appointment at 1 pm, arrived 10 minutes early and was told it would take at least 45 minutes before my car is even seen. I dont see why youd offer appointments if they mean nothing.

Had a low tire pressure light on my vehicle. I stopped by Midas and was pleasantly surprised to see how well the staff cared for their customers. I was immediately welcomed and was treated like a family member. They found my spare tire was the culprit and had me back on the road in no time. I was not charged, and no one tried to sell me anything I didnt need. It was so refreshing to see TRUE customer service and Integrity. I will now use Midas for all my vehicle needs. Thank You

Amazing! I was in a having a busy day and they were an awesome experience! I had stopped at firestone first to get a pressure test and firestone added all kinds of stuff not necessary, so I walked out and drove the extra few miles, and was so so happy I did! I scheduled a routine oil conventional oil change online. It wasnt too busy at 5pm. The employee, Jacob, who checked me in was nice to explain the differences between the types of oil. He respected my choice to stick with the conventional. It also included a tire rotation. With coupon, it was $30. If I were to stay in ABQ, I wouldnt hesitate coming back here.

Waited 2 1/2 hours to get my oil change then I was supposed to get a radiator flush they canceled on that very slow service my car was up on a rack for 2 hours no one working on it

I went in for a routine oil change, the person who did the change neglected to put the oil plug back in correctly and my car began leaking oil. Im glad that I didnt have these idiots perform any other kind of service as Im sure if they cant even put an oil plug in correctly, they probably cant be trusted to do anything that actually takes any kind of skill. I would avoid Midas at all costs, even if you need something as simple as an oil change.
