I went to a place and they gave me this printout which is in green and red telling me it was going to cost $1,600 to repair I insisted to my husband that I wanted a second opinion so I went with the browns now look at their printout that they gave me that is so amazing having little arrows pointing to the problem pictures literally of my car I was completely amazed and being a female I finally found the best place anyone could take their vehicle to I completely recommend the browns for any automotive problem I have them fix some immediate attention problems that were listed and paid six fifty they are honest and fair price the best place in town to go to

Took my Prius to Browns after a frustrating experience with the Toytota dealership for previous maintenance. Edward, my service advisor, was upfront, professional, and excedingly informative and transparent about the state of my car. He provided an emailed checklist (with photos) of various maintenance needs along with explanations behind when and why I need to take care of them. His estimate was spot-on, too, so no feeling like the rug was pulled out from under me after I okayed work.

I was visiting Albuquerque when the AC fan on my vehicle stopped working. Temperatures in the mid 90s. I had to leave town the next day. They ordered the part and installed it early the next day. They also drove me to and from my hotel!!! They are courteous, diligent and fairly priced. I highly recommend. Just good people.

Wife and I just drove from Chicago to ABQ (1300miles) and during the trip a strut bolt came loose and caused some damage to our vehicle. The guys at Browns took amazing care of us! The struts ordered were regular ones rather than ones for cars with electronic suspension I did not know that was a possibility. One such strut was available but a second was on back order. So the repair took 3 days. The end result is that the car rides beautifully now.

Saved my family! Car AC broke in New Mexico on our trip from Arkansas. They fixed it in 1.5 days even when the dealer sent the wrong part. They welded the metal AC hose and now it blows COLD. Saved our butts in 100 degree NM heat!!! Los Ranchos location are KINGS in my book. 100/100. Saved us when other mechanics were booked through July!

I love it here. I was told exactly what was wrong, they called me with everything they found. I was given pictures and an explanation of everything they found. I have known Don Brown for several years and had not had a chance to take a vehicle to him until now.I needed to have my truck towed to Browns because my ball joint sheered clean off. They opened a bay for my vehicle, received my truck for me and conducted an inspection. They completed the work quickly and took care of some additional issues that came from my ball joint sheering off. The cost was in the ball park of what I had expected and they did a great job keeping in touch with me along the whole process.I recommend this auto shop.Dons guys did a great job.

They did an excellent, thorough pre-purchase inspection of a 2010 Chevy van I was considering. Because it had 110,000 miles on it, I needed experts to check it out. They did a great job, including a report of what needed attention and how much that would cost. This helped me negotiate the price. An all-round good experience.

I brought my vehicle in after it was having some clutch problems and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to fix the problem without needing to replace the part. I had some initial problems after leaving and they were able to get me back in the next morning to look at it. They spent a couple hours test driving it to try and replicate the problem but it never came back. I would definitely bring my vehicle back here if I ever needed more work.

Like many of you, I’ve been really wary about mechanics... mostly because they always seem to charge you hundredsss of dollars every visit, even thousands. I don’t trust most mechanics because I have this stereotype that they are embellishing about the long list of problems but you don’t know the difference so you just end up paying because you need your car fixed. With all that being said, that has NOT Been my experience with Browns. The very first visit ever, I needed to leave my car there overnight and the front desk attendant, Tim, gave me a ride home. They were trustworthy every since. They are the first shop I’ve ever really believed in. Thanks fellas! Worth the drive!

They did a full diagnostic free of charge, then sent a text with link to all the details, including photos and notes. On the phone they gave a full and detailed explanation of what needed to be done now, what should be done soon, and what could wait. I asked Ed about a few things they flagged that seemed like they werent worth the money and he confirmed there was really no need to spend $$ unnecessarily. I whent there for a diagnostic. I made an 8am appointment and they told me it would take the day and cost 119.95. I brought the car in and left later that even I got a call saying that it was going to take an extra day to diagnose. This was on a Friday so I would have had to wait till Monday to pick it up because they were closed on the weekends. I was ok with that but when I went to pick up and pay they tried to charge me 330$ because of extra labor. They hadn’t said anything about an up charge so I complained. I simply refused to pay twice the amount of money just because they didn’t have enough time to finish it in time. They only had me pay 120$ but I will definitely not be going back. Also they wanted to charge me over 800$ for new wires and a tune up. And of course I will be doing elsewhere for that service.

After making about 15 different phone calls to try to make a good decision on who to get to work on my 1971 van, I ended up getting her towed to Brown’s. Tim was very helpful, upfront about cost, and the van runs great now.

Best auto shop Ive ever been to. They found the root cause of the problem, which was surprisingly affordable. The Toyota dealerships approach was to replace EVERYTHING until they found the issue. I went in to have my air conditioner checked out. They charged me $137 for a full diagnostic which I never asked for. They then told me that I needed a completely new air conditioner and it would cost me $2100. I said No thanks and then took my car to Daniel at DESA automotive. Daniel put Stop Leak and freon in my air conditioner ($44) and it now works fine. I will never return to Browns Automotive.

Fixed a rpinion bearing

On April 12 we chose to make an appointment at Browns Automotive on 4th street in Albuquerque. Since our contract with Rich Ford is now outdated we felt it was wisdom to choose Browns for the future repairs on our 2017 Ford Escape. It feels so good to know of all the years of good work done for customers and now to be getting such great service from Dustin and his Staff. We are spreading the word on the Gallup side of the state. We are very proud and thankful of each of you that help us.

UPDATE April 12, 2021:Browns Automotive HONORS their warrantee! After they replaced my engine last summer, had a few issues crop up and they fixed them free of charge. First was a squeaking serpentine belt - replace leaking thermostat & cleaned belt. Second was a water leak - replaced water pump. Last week was failed oil pressure gage and squeaky belt again - replaced pressure sensor and tightened belt. When you replace nearly everything in the engine bay on a Jeep with 240K miles, you will expect some issues. But, at Browns they wont cost you a dime under warrantee. I also had them replace oil/fluid in front/rear gear boxes, power steering, transmission, and transfer case at a price equal to major a chain store. They recently discovered that power steering fluid was still a little brownish red. Well once again, they replaced the fluid at no charge. 24-month, 24K mile warrantee on service/parts; 36-month, 100K mile warrantee on engine replacement. Go there!July 2020: Replaced my engine on 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a remanufactured engine. Original estimate $6900 to include all labor, parts (engine, radiator, hoses, spark plugs, belt) and possible extra replacement parts. Went to $7700 about half way through because my Jeep engine bay required even more parts due to its 237,931 miles. Tim kept me informed all the way. Even sent me pics of the removal. Gave me discounts and even provided the last part & labor for free (oxygen sensor after test drive). Took about 2 weeks to complete. This is my new Jeep repair company. Labor is $20 per hour cheaper than dealership. If you want to keep your Jeep, then go to these folks for service.

I went to Browns Automotive to get an oil change for my car. This was one of the best customer service experiences I have had in years. The shop was very clean. The man at the counter was very polite and helpful. They provided me with a detailed report on everything they did to the car and they gave me list of repairs that it would need. The report included photos of the repairs that it needs. The prices are great. I paid less for an oil change here than I do at the chain stores that I have been using. I will continue to take my car to Browns and I recommend them highly!

My wife went to Browns to replace rack and pinion, etc. on her Toyota truck. They charged just a bit more than half of what the Toyota dealer asked. A year later, everything is still perfect.Based on that I have now gone to Browns for strut replacement and related problems. I have been very impressed by the friendliness of the staff, and how they go out of their way to explain what needs to be done, including options for doing the work in phases over time. I dont mind driving all the way across town for this level of service, trustworthiness, and old-school customer relations.

I took my car in to have the broken drivers side mirror replaced. I purchased a mirror online and they had to reconfigure it to make it work with the camera piece that wasnt included with the part I purchased. Reina did an amazing job of rebuilding this piece to make it work with my vehicle. I highly recommend.
