I have used Arto as a mechanic a few times, and always have a good experience. He is an honest mechanic with a genuine and kind personality. I have an older vehicle that has some quirks, and unlike other mechanics in the area he has never tried to pad on any additional charges. Always a fast turnaround time. Highly recommend!

Arto fixed an issue with one car after a tow and I ended up bringing my other vehicle to him because I liked working with him. He was easy to communicate with, helpful, and timely. If you are looking for a mechanic in the area I suggest giving him a call.

I have been using Artos for both my families car repair needs as well as gasoline for over 10 years. Anytime I have any sort of question regarding a car issue, I know I can easily roll up to Arto and ask his advice (or even call/ text him). He has never tried to sell me on a service or part I didnt need and I trust his opinion on repair dos (or donts) 100%. He has even told me Its cheaper to order the part online - order it (heres the exact part number and place to buy it cheapest) and Ill install it for you. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and an overall great guy to have as a mechanic. There are a few things in professionals you want to make sure you have a good relationship with and a mechanic is at the top of the list. Arto is THAT guy.

Good for small job (oil change, tire) but very picky with small details.He doesnt want to work on my bolt joint until I got tail light to replace a broken one in order to pass the state inspection. Once I got the one he found for me, I had to insist to have it installed, he saw a small crack at the bottom.Once I got the car, after the bolt joint and the tail light replaced, he proudly told me that he got a state inspection sticker since he gave 10$ to the guy for him to ignore the small crack on the light. My broken one was worse and passed 3 stated inspection without problem.

Everytime I go in theyre super nice. Arto himself goes out of his wayto make sure customers are happy. Theyve done all my repairs andsveral times fixed my tires which had nails in them !! Awesome

Beginning to end, Arto went above & beyond. He took our call on Sunday and booked us in for an appointment first thing Monday morning. We got there, dropped my car off, got a coffee across the road and a haircut as well and by the time that was done he had finished fixing my break pads and serpentine belt at perfect timing. He gave a more than fair price and I couldn’t have been happier with the service. I’ll recommend everyone to go to Arto

BEWARE: car overheated and wanted $2500 for a new engine to fix it. I was given the car back with the engine taken apart and still had to pay! Said the car was busted and if I left it there I wouldnt need to pay anything.My dad fixed the car for $250. Replaced the radiator, plugs and car was good to go! He just wanted my vtec Honda Civic

Great independent service station. I took my car there last winter when it wouldnt start. They fixed it quickly and at a reasonable price (and no charge for diagnosis). I appreciated their honesty that they werent 100% sure the suggested repair would fix it (and at this price I was willing to take a chance).

I had a wonderful experience here. As a petite woman, I often have issues when getting service done- getting talked down to, being overcharged- and this place was friendly, honest, and well- priced. The mechanic was so nice and explained everything to me. He also fit me in and got my car fixed in a day. If I need any more service I will definitely be coming back here!

I had to have my car unexpectedly towed to Artos by AAA after it broke down and wouldn’t start. I had never worked with him before and was anxious, but he put my mind completely at ease. The problem (my battery and alternator) was taken care of very quickly, and he was extremely communicative and professional. Although the initial quote was expensive, We were able to find a solution that worked for both of us.

The service is horrible. My car was towed here and I now regret for the choice I made to agreeing the towing to here. Unexpectedly car wouldnt start during the weekend, then I found out to be the starter problem during work. Arto, the owner, acted nice and told me to be a quick fix on the phone. He rushed me to fix it with an overly priced offer or be charged with diagnostics fee, $90. First, he would tell me replacing it with my cars dealerships starter. Then, he told me replacing it with aftermarket one just after a few minutes. I would never ever go to this place again! In the end, he overcharged me more than $250 for the starter replacement and requested me to pay in cash or be paid in higher quote. Initially, I didnt know how much a regular starter replacement would cost and agreed. After some research, I realized I was scammed. I should not have rushed to make a decision while working just because I wanted my car to be fixed sooner. He promised the starter would last a year. After, I have to replace my starter myself soon since I got no proof of his 1 year warranty even I asked him to make a proof. He said: Hey buddy. Itll last a year. No worries. I was in a hurry and left without thinking about it. Now, I see how dumb I was. Lesson learned. Like he said, he would not like to do favors but just for the money. His business is nothing but profits, no honesty and integrity.

Arto is a throwback from the days when honesty, integrity and a high quality work were the norm in the auto service business. He and his staff have always delivered on time, under budget with a high degree of care and communication. Hes worked on our cars (Lexus and Mini Cooper) for nearly a decade and weve never been disappointed. We have total trust in his assessment of whats wrong, what needs attention and ultimately the finished work.

This is the most honest, decent guy on the planet. He is incredibly accommodating, reasonably priced, and competent. I cant tell you the number of times he has had the perfect opportunity to tell me/charge me anything, and has never once taken advantage of me. In fact, he and his father have saved me hundreds, if not thousands, on work that would cost a mint if Id gone to a dealership. I have recommended Arto to many people, very selective people, and he is uniformly admired. We have two cars, and over the years have needed quite a bit of repair work, and he has never failed to deliver.

They are genuinely honest. There prices are below whatbo was quoted elsewhere. Polite and friendly. Cslled eith what was wrong gave me a price and time it could be done by. They met everything they said. I hsve used them for both my vehicles sevetal times and will continue.

Awful experience dealing with Zee their car salesman. Came by interested in a vehicle and he was very shady about any questions we had. After some discussion, we asked if we could bring the car to our mechanic the next day to check everything out. He brought out and signed a contract agreeing to not sell the car. Later the same day he texts me that the car was sold, and I see the listing on Craigslist with a price increase of $400.Dishonest sales practices, not worth your time or money.

A few months later he was the first person I called after my car was hit in to check out damages and explained my options to me.I even recommended a friend who had a limited budget that Arto helped to find the best solution for the lowest cost. Its truly sad that no matter what happens and how much you try to work with a local mechanic, in the end they try to screw you one way or another as soon as they realize that you trust them and go straight to them with out getting a second opinion.This is an update to my previous review.We as a family had trust Arto as our local mechanic and had taken several cars to him for basic oil changes to break jobs. These are cars that are for the most part reliable, Acura, Honda and Toyota.Based on the work that was done on the Toyota (last review) it didnt take long before the breaks would start making random noises. After a few returns, we were told that it was because of the parts (original parts from Toyota dealership) not the fact that the breaks werent installed properly. So we called it a day and decided to trust him even though this matter was later taken care of and corrected at the dealership.My next complaint is about price hikes that occur without any notice given. To charge someone $60 for an oil change and when they were just $25-$30 last year is insane. I choose not to argue about it and just simply never return.Arto is a young and respectful gentlemen who will show you how trustworthy he is initially (in order to gain your business) and as soon as he realizes you keep coming back, he wont bother even giving you a decent discount. We as a family have chosen to part ways with him and take our 4 cars to another near place near by.I hope that he and other read this and realize that you cant screw your customers especially the ones that were loyal to you.

Ive been using Artos for years, he is always reliable and reasonably priced. I just arrived in California and have driven across country and back before. Whenever Im about to get on the road I have Arto check my car top to bottom. Being a single woman with few mechanical skills he could easily sell me things I dont need. In Sept when I brought my car in, all I paid for was an oil change. I cannot possible explain how much I will miss his honesty and friendly face. 5 Stars doesnt seem like enough. Best garage ever!

Pump attendents stealing money off of people credit/debit cards

I have two isolated and extremely bad experiences with this service station.. The first being with my 3-series BMW. I was in need of new brakes and tires and brought my car over for service. I got the car back and was informed 3 of my rims were cracked (when they were not cracked prior to service.. I am convinced it happened during mounting the new tires). In addition, the brakes squeaked as if they were still old and worn. Finally, within 1 week of doing the brakes and tires, my power steering gave out and I was forced to sell the car back to a dealer as it would have cost far too much at that point to keep fixing it.I am convinced that these issues were caused by the service station but had no way of proving so as I am not a mechanic. Unfortunately, I did not make an effort to prove this and decided to just sell the car and get a new car. I thought perhaps I was wrong and maybe the BMW was just on its way out but then another incident occurred:My girlfriend brought her VW Jetta to Artos for a similar service.. brakes, oil and tires. Another $1000+ spent at Artos and sure enough, brakes arent working correctly and the car is making strange noises that it was not making prior to bring in for service.I HIGHLY CAUTION YOU to not use this service station. I have now spent over $3,000 at this service station for two separate services on two separate cars and both times the vehicles were in worst shape after service than before.

Ive been going to Artos Service Station for a little over ten years. My brand new 2002 Honda was a lemon and I cant imagine what I would have done without an honest mechanic on my side. He saw me through 2 failed transmissions and a slew of other repairs that would have cost me thousands else where. People like Arto and his team are a rare find and if you are lucky enough to find them, you make them your mechanics for life. ps. Ive been getting my gas there for years but even in the dead of winter the gas attendants have a smile or a joke to warm your day. Anything but excellent about this place is a blatant lie. Just drive by and ask the people who flock it everyday.

HORRIBLE!! He did not fix my car properly, almost as if they didnt touch it at all and let it sit there overnight. The attendants are rude and almost always mess up whatever you tell them. They also try & take money, for example they stop the pump before it reaches the amount you are giving them. DO NOT come here ever!

Do not buy cars from them. They sell them with issues and then wont pay for repairs.
