Check-in was easy and quick. I arrived about 30 minutes early but my truck was ready to go. Drop-off was similarly easy. Ive rented from this location 3 times and never had any issues.

They rented out our truck that was already reserved and did not have it available for pick up at the right time. We scheduled our pickup for 7AM (self service/online pickup on a Sunday) and did not get the truck until 8:30...and it would have been 9 if the employee on duty didnt help us half an hour before the store was meant to open. We were travelling 11 hours out of state and this set us back a significant amount. We had even called the day before to make sure this didnt happen...it did anyways. Would not recommend.

U-Hauls website directed me here to pick up a 5 x 8 trailer. My check-in experience was excellent. The office staff were very friendly and efficient. The workers in the equipment lot directed me quickly to the correct trailer and attached the trailer expertly. They already had my other rental equipment in the trailer. I had no issues with the trailer the entire time using it to move some furniture 300 miles up I-95 (much of that in a rain storm). I definitely would rent from this location again.

Descent storage facility . It has been there for decades . Staff is semi friendly , neighborhood is sketchy though . I saw things... LolIf you bring a truck ask them to let you park in the loading dock,.Suggested 3 man crew.*One person stays with the truck .*Carts are provided to load / UnoadI have been able to get in and out of this place easily. Considering I drove a 20 + foot truck in and out of here I would say it went well .

I made a reservation yesterday at this location 1750 Blandensburg NE Washington DC, the time to pickup the truck was a 9.00 am, I had to wait 10 minutes doing at line and then it was my turn,when they ask me for my reservation number I gave it to them, and they told me youre late, we gave the truck to someone else. It really sucks, why they made me do reservation and they just told me youre late. At the end the guy was helpful and I had to go to another location to pickup another truck. Please be more organized in the website.

Customer service was good. Clerks are knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

The staff here were helpful, friendly, and quick. The pickup and drop off processes were efficient and their indoor store allows you to buy the last minute things needed for a move. Id of course recommend using a smaller, or local company to move, but if you cant this U-Haul is a good option. You can park your car there for free in their parking lot during the day while you move and the whole thing was pretty hassle-free.

My phones camera wasnt working when I tried to check out. The clerk, claiming to be named Catherine, lectured me about how I would need to take a picture of my license with a camera phone for 5 minutes even though she had already agreed to take the picture for me. When I told her I wasnt interested in arguing with her she said she was changing my reservation to online check in so I wouldnt be able to get my vehicle. The manager got involved and took care of it eventually. Catherine was incredibly angry, malicious, and actively trying to prevent this location from doing business.

Osman and this facility are very impressive. The man runs a tight operation, is supremely friendly when youre considerate to him, and I enjoyed doing business with this location. Highly recommend for storage solutions in a city where its so important! Cheers, Jay

Quick and easy with above and beyond service! I was able to rent the truck in 10 minutes the night before so that when I drove up I contactless picked up the truck and went! Drop off was done in a safe and distanced manner. All trucks are thoroughly disinfected before next rental. All this at an unbelievable low price.

AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS! I wish I could give 0 stars. Their customer service is terrible, every man who works at this location is unnecessarily rude and condescending. My husband and I signed up for Online Pick up. The van was not in the location it was supposed to be, so I went inside to ask. I was told to go to the pick up and drop off lot, and to ask the men working for my van and my key. I go to the lot, ask the men working for my van and key, they gave me very rude and very short answers that were basically look at your phone, what does that say?, I tried explaining that I was specifically advised to ask them for my van, and was consistently interrupted with the same unhelpful answers, until it finally became clear that I needed to search the lot myself for the van and dare not return to them until I had found it. The lot was completely full. It took 20 minutes to find it. Did the inspection, everything looked normal. Were about 15 minutes away from the location, we go over a speedbump, and it turns out the back brake light fixture had been broken off and then just placed on back on so we couldnt see in the inspection. So we had to drive back, explain what happened multiple times to multiple people, before being given a new van. When signing the new contract I tried to verify that we wouldnt be charged for their broken equipment and the man working just interrupted me to say Just sign the contract. I told them IN THIS MOMENT that we wouldnt be returning the van until after hours and was given NO instruction on what to do with the key. We returned the van that evening, 30 minutes after they closed. The app gave no instruction, and all key boxes were visibly locked, so we did what we thought was the right thing, and locked the keys inside the van. We are now being charged $150 on top of everything because they dont have duplicate keys. If we hadnt been given a broken vehicle to begin with, we would have been able to return the vehicle before 7pm. Also they KNEW we were expecting to return the van after hours, they provided NO instruction, and ALL BOXES WERE LOCKED! So why should it be another $150 out of our pocket??? I was already planning on leaving a bad review for this location, based on the unbelievably rude staff and faulty equipment, but this sent me over the ledge. AVOID THIS LOCATION.

I reserved for online check in so I wouldn’t have to wait in one of Uhaul d’s notoriously long lines. But it didn’t matter, online check-in was not working which I learned after trying for 15 minutes, so I had to go wait In line for 42 minutes. This kind of shenanigan is what Uhaul is all about. Avoid like the plague.This place is a disaster. They treat customers like garbage, they are rude and snarky, they clearly have sense of what customer service is. Go anywhere but Uhaul. They are parasites!

I had a great experience with this facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful, everything was ready at my appointment time and I was in and out in a snap!

Went to our unit today to discover it had flooded along with a lot of the other units on our aisle. We were offered no apologies just told to take pictures and show them anything that was damaged. No indication the occupants of the other units were being called. If we hadn’t happened to go by, would we even know our stuff was soaking wet? There are plenty of other places to store your stuff, pick one of those.

Dropped my u-haul off and notified the staff that I did as well and they said they would take care of it in the morning. Next day I got a call that they never checked it in. Lots of extra complications with this location. Person that checks in the trucks was unfriendly as well and didnt really seem to know what he was doing. Calling the store is impossible.

Great place for a truck rental and/or moving supplies. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I prefer them over any other locations in the area.

The location is well organized and the truck was clean. However, it took me almost one hour to pick up the truck, since the location told me they do not accept UK driving licenses. Likewise in my first attempt on the online system, the agent said only US government ID is acceptable. But then on the second attempt my UK license was accepted.Dear U-Haul: please could you kindly ensure that all your locations have a consistent policy towards non-US driving licenses: otherwise it causes a waste of time and a lot of unnecessary stress.

Watch out and be sure to take your own verification pictures. We returned our vehicle with the same gas it had at the time of rental and were charged for a full tank. The staff is unhelpful and incredibly rude. Document everything so you have proof when returning your vehicle and they try to charge you extra.

They have great customer service and all the employees are very respectful esp. Manager Tiffany she made sure social distancing protocols were being enforced along with No Mask No Entry to prevent the Covid-19 spread to her staff of front line workers, following CDC ordinance sighted by DC Mayors phase -ll Mask Mandate for businesses. I felt its safe to going there and did business without any health worries

Woke up to my card being charged for damages without any warning. After I completed the return the day prior, an employee had signed me off as good to go and I would get the receipt later. These damages were found hours after I returned the vehicle. So without calling me to warn me or consult me, I was hit with a random $150 charge. But because I didnt take pictures immediately after the return, theres no way for me to fight the charges. So make sure you to take picture when you pick up and drop off.And make sure they complete the inspection of the vehicle right there before you leave. Otherwise, they will find a way to take your money.

This is not relevant to this location particularly, but rather to U-haul in general. It is frustrating to be entrapped by the advertising flaunting as low as $19.95 whereas in reality all of the costs stack up and for just 3 hours it was over $70. The reservation process on the website is annoying as you need to constantly refuse things that are being proposed for addition to the purchase. As to the location and personnel, the staff were very helpful.

I cannot recommend this place to a friend due to the face the guy who attended the returns area Charles is rude, unprofessional and is smoking in people faces offensively. Has a hideous attitude towards good working people. Everyone else was AWESOME

Get there early because the lines at this location are long. Or maybe it was just the day I went. But it was a Sunday. So I am guessing the other days are crazy. One lady behind the desk was super helpful. The other two couldnt be bothered. But then again customer service is a dying art.

Great people and service. If you go Saturday or Sunday morning, expect to wait for 20 minutes. The line goes quickly :)

My original reservation was at the 26 k st ne location and they didn’t have a truck for me. After insisting that they make good on my reservation I was redirected to the 5th st location. It was over an hour before I had a truck. The inside staff at the 5th st office we’re very quick and helpful. The men at the truck pick up area were short with me during pick up and drop off. The truck was minimally cleaned and the side mirror was broken with some tape over it. Overall I’m glad 5th st was able to accommodate my reservation but the entire pick up process was incredibly stressful and set back my moving schedule significantly. I do not plan to use either location again and will be looking into other truck rental companies.

The place was a bit hard to find, but the people were very nice and helpful.

I was rented a trailer with an expired tag. The tag expired in Dec 2019 and it’s Jan 2021. I didn’t notice that the tag was expired until I was returning the trailer. I told two employees here who showed no concern. One blamed the pandemic even though the tag has been expired since 2019. Moral of the story is if you rent anything from here make sure you check the registration or you might end up getting a police citation.

Make sure you take lots of pictures when you drop it off and when you return it. We were charged $150 for a broken light that we definitely did not do. On the receipt it says the incident happened at 6:30 pm, but we returned the van at noon. The person we called told us that 6:30 was just the time that they got a chance to inspect the vehicle and see that the light was damaged. We took pictures when we picked it up, but it looked exactly the same when we dropped it off so we didnt bother. Thats on us for trusting this place, but they didnt have to do that to us.

I love this Uhaul. Great customer service, friendly and helpful. They have been remodeling and expanding and I always have good experiences at this location. Some places in my city are not the best with customer service, friendliness or being helpful but these folks are top notch!

Was dropping off the trailer. The employee was on a personal call and made me wait for 5 minutes while he was solving some family issue. When he finally got off the phone, another guy showed up and told me to take the trailer to a spot on the other side of the lot. When I got there he said it was the wrong spot even though I asked him twice to confirm. I moved the trailer to the new location. The original guy showed up while still on the phone. He unhitched the trailer while still on the phone and then the trailer rolled down hill into my vehicle. He asked if I was going to report it. I did to the main office. They took a picture but nobody has called me. Its 3 days later. $250 worth of damage to my pick up truck!

This is the third time I have utilized the location to move my daughters belongings from her dorm to storage, and I have always been pleased with the services. Its a one-stop shop; we get a move package that has boxes, tape, bubble wrap, markers, and a utility knife.

Got the paperwork. Went to get the truck. The truck wasnt there. They gave me another truck # and went back to the rental office to get the contract changed. The contract said it had a 1/4 tank of gas. The truck had less than a 1/8 of tank of gas, and a warning that I needed to fill it before it ran out of gas in less than 20 miles. (took pics). The place we loaded it was only a mile away. While driving it to unload, the engine light came on and it started running rough. I returned it with 1/4 tank of gas and you all tried to charge me 12.3 gallons for 46.13 for EZ Fuel and then credited it back to me? Doesnt make any sense?? Thats why the below than average score.

The online application process is horrible. It waited till I was at the location trying to pick up the truck to ask me for a copy of my passport or lease agreement even though I have rented trucks and storage units from U-Haul in the past. Who carries passport or lease agreement around with them. If it had asked me for that when I originally booked it at the house it would have been no problem. Then it’s trying to get ahold of my contact during buisiness hours when they are at work and leaving me stranded sitting in a parking lot waiting. I booked this to be able to avoid contact but wound up having to have double the amount of contact with the in store rep to resolve. Very poorly thought out. The reps at the store were great. The Online application process was horrible. Will probably look for another company to rent truck! Worst experience I have ever had!

Rented a van with top break light that was hanging on by its wires (didnt notice till the first speed bump and it fell) they replaced it with another van but poor customer service and lack of direction about drop off is leading to further charges. Rude personnel, faulty vehicles, and billing for all they can.

I have used this location several times. Your staff is ALWAYS accommodating. They are great. Unfortunately, the location is in a congested area and there is nothing that can done about it. However, I would still recommend getting a u-haul from this location.

The customer service was good until I tried to return the truck and the General Manager of the establishment tries to charge me for a crack in the back door panel that was already broken when I received the vehicle. Seems Like he is trying to get his numbers up or charge hard working people fees.I wont be renting from this place again!!

This was one of the worst customer experience encounters I have had. The manager was very rude and inconsiderate. They had incorrectly documented the original mileage on my account and overcharged me. I showed them pictures of the mistake and instead of apologizing he was quite rude and blamed me for his own incompetence.

Staff that was present when I dropped off my u-haul was unprofessional, argumentative, and rude. Also e warned of the deceptive fee structure. Our 19.99 a day van for two days with minimal milage ended up at $160.If you have any other options for somewhere else.

Everything was great, I was quickly and easily able to return unused boxes, and get $18 back, and I appreciated the immediate sanitation of the van in the midst of Covid 19.

My husband and I had an amazing experience at this location. We rented a car dolly last minute on our move and had some issues with our hitch. Jerome and Lakeshia along with the GM Osman went above and beyond to assist with our issue by helping take off our rusted hitch witch took over a hour and made sure we were safe on our journey. I would highly recommended this location for your Uhaul needs.

Watch your bill. Changed to a smaller unit and still charged for larger one. Always get clarification on extras: 24 he access, climate control unit, and level. Everything is an extra charge. Not very happy.

Ive used this location a few times with good results. If you get there right as they open, you should be able to pick up your truck/van quickly. If you wait until later in the day - plan some time. The staff was fine, not overly friendly, but not rude either.

I cannot think of a single sentence in which I can fit the words customer and service in the same sentence when thinking of my experience at this location. Not only was the staff rude but rather useless. Although I understand the world is dealing with COVID-19, that is no excuse for poor or inexistent care for a customer. I arrived on time for my reservation at 10 am sharp. The personnel didnt like the facemask I was wearing and was instructed by screams that I had to leave the building and follow the pickup procedures on my phone; I was told to find the truck that was assigned to me and be on my way. After spending roughly 15 minutes cluelessly trying to find the lot where the trucks are stored with two other people were also trying to find the lot where trucks are parked. Once we finally found the lot, which has no signs, or anything whatsoever, we were told by the attendant that they had accidentally assigned the same truck to all three of us. After waiting for the people who had previously yelled inside the building to re-assign a truck, the attendant directed me towards where my vehicle was located. I followed the instructions on the truck and waited for 40 MINUTES for the person who had previously yelled at me to authorize the person who helped me find the truck to deliver the keys. The attendant and I waited for 40 minutes in front of the U-Haul; it is simply unacceptable. Eventually, the person inside authorized the release of the keys, I left the location 1 hour and 20 minutes behind schedule, with a U-Haul which had a nearly empty tank and annoyed at this U-Haul location which was clearly the worst experience Ive ever had when renting. After my experience today, I am not sure If I will ever rent from them again.

Was treated like a criminal coming into the location. Just wanted to get my trailer and get the H—- out if there. Very disappointed...will probably rethink uhaul next time. 😟

Plenty of vehicles on-hand and a complete inventory of the rest of the stuff you need to move. Take the moving blanket and handtruck combo deal! They were very good about not charging us for going over the 24 hour rental period by less than 30 minutes. Given the DC traffic AND the restrictions on driving a moving van with commercial plates this courtesy was greatly appreciated.

Busy at weekend

I was charged $57 dollars at pickup then $64 more at drop off. At the drop-off, the guy did use a mask and wanted me to verify my email i did get close and he got upset. In addition, the guy refused to explain why is was being charged again. He was on the phone with someone else and he was very rude to me. I think i will use a different company from now on.

Note to any renters ask to see or check truck before signing.....I signed out a truck saying the tank was full and miles she also different.

Helped a friend move over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by this locations professionalism and friendliness. Before dealing with this U-Haul location, I considered U-Haul a necessary evil, but the wonderful staff here changed my opinion. I live over in Alexandria, VA but I will definitely go out of my way to rent from this location in the future.

After a terrible experience at a different location (930 Kennedy St NW; Dont go there. Reservations mean nothing), the lady was not only able to get us our desired truck, but got us 50$ back towards our purchase. Much better experience!

This U-haul runs like a machine. It was super easy to reserve, pick-up and drop off the U-haul and they answered all my questions before I even had the chance to ask them. The facility is also easy to get to and leave from, so driving a big moving truck for the firs time was less intimidating

Fast service which was a plus however they sold me a trailer hitch and a 9 day 6x12 trailer rental and the service was very poor. after they hooked up the trailer I asked if it was too low to the ground. the hook up person told me it appeared that way because the trailer was on a slope. I also asked him if I should flip the trailer hitch to raise the trailer further from the ground. he said it would be a lot of work to do that. I drove the trailer off the lot and the trailer bottomed out on the way home and has hit the ground at least three more times while on the road to Asheville, nc. I took the trailer to a uhaul in Asheville and they advised the trailer was much too low. They had me pull around to the shop in the back. They flipped the trailer hitch which fixed the clearance issue. The difference between the service at this location and Asheville was night and day.

The gentleman that helped us with our rental was very friendly, joked around with us and made us smile during a very stressful time in all of our lives. Thank you for the human connection, it was needed =)

General manager (osman, I believe) was incredibly helpful.

While the employees of this location were helpful and I did not have to wait long for service, I am upset that after an 11 hour drive to Ohio I learned as I was getting off the turnpike that the lights on my trailer had not been working the whole time. 3 hours of that drive were in the dark - so dangerous!While I had the hitch installed at a different U-Haul location, the employee who attached my trailer should have checked to ensure that my lights were working. I was there alone so I could not check all the lights myself as I would need someone in the car pressing the brake.

Customer service was Pleasant enough but I did have a hard time finding the truck pick up area... the other staff seem like they didnt really care that much they were okay not to helpful. Truck was in good condition. Service was quick for me.

We returned our Uhaul several minutes before closing time. The employees claimed it was after closing time, forcing us to use after-hours drop-off and incur additional charges. What a rip-off.

Staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Ive had a storage unit there for several years, and have never had any problems. Only problem area: parking is horrible. Not enough of it, especially if you are loading/unloading.

Friendly staff and service, I was able to rent multiple trucks same day, drop/return was similar to car rental, pull up curb side, get the truck info, email receipt to you and you are gone. Best Uhaul service I have had ever.

Double stacked lockers/units, with small doors for medium and small lockers, makes it hard to put a couch into them. I would look at other spots. Although good place to pick up packing material - even has a tv cases

The truck was ready on time and very clean, in nice condition. They called two days ahead of time to confirm pick up. The only negative was the person we checked in with.. She mumbled and audibly, barely spoke to us – sometimes only nodding when we ask a question. She gave no information unless asked..When she started to head out the door with some keys, I asked her if I could purchase a lock and some tape and she rolled her eyes. We could have easily walked off with the merchandise without paying!After that transaction, she took off with keys again and did not tell us where she was going or if we should follow her. Extremely poor customer service skills.

Overbooked and did not give me my requested truck despite a longstanding reservation. Sent me to another location in DC to get a different truck. Delayed my move by over two hours, causing extra cost headaches in every direction.Manager was at a loss to explain why they couldnt give me one of the trucks out back. Said theyre reserved. Yeah, by me!Theres some kind of disconnect going on here.

Excellent service and convenient location. I checked in online so the entire process to get the truck and be on my way took less than 15 minutes.The location is less than 10 minutes walking from the RI metro stop.And the truck was brand new with 1k miles on it!

U-Haul storage is always good in case of need, but this location has trouble beyond the patience of regular humans. Their system is frozen most of the time, which is discouraging when you have Sat 30th and Sun 31st to move, wasting 3h of your time waiting just to get the storage unit contract, without the possibility of overtime access to the storage unit because it is not available for the storage building. U-Haul is a good addition to my life, but this location isnt

Horrible experience thru the mobile app for an after-hours pickup and dropoff, on what is supposed to be a seamless process. The app is extremely clunky and regularly doesnt register your clicks to allow you onto the next page.You need to submit all kinds of info upon arrival, not before, so prepare for a lengthy delay at pickup time despite the fact that they couldve just had you submit everything earlier. Someone on their end needs to verify it in real-time, including calling a friend or family member just to verify that you indeed exist and are renting a truck. Unsure how this is a real security measure but regardless.Then they gave me the lockbox code to get the truck keys, but the app was so clunky that that page disappeared before I could read it. So I promptly spent the next 20 minutes in the pouring rain on hold with their customer service line, just to get the damn lockbox code. The app thought Id already started driving, so my only option there was to request roadside assistance (dysfunctional app wouldnt let me submit a request for that either).Add it all up and youve got a terrible user experience. Find any other truck or equipment rental service whenever possible.
