Good selection of groceries for the size but mainly come here for a sandwich or essentials.

Broad Branch Market is a lifesaver. Has what I need, can zip and out fast. The brownies are incredible, the steaks excellent.

Always a delight to visit this little neighborhood market. They make items from sandwiches to full meals, and you can get wine beer and other staples as well as candy and things for the kids. This is a real neighborhood Gem.

I understand limiting numbers entering the store in these times. But if your going to do that have someone at the door to let you know when it’s ok to come in. Rather than me waiting for five minutes outside in the cold, as I wasn’t sure whether to come in or not, and then when I did enter to find out if it was ok to enter I was dismissively told to wait outside. Very odd

This local market is my go-to for staples such as milk, bread, salad fixings, cheese, & good quality meats & fish. Great soups! Prepared cold deli veggie salads such as edamame and broccoli rabe are terrific. I dont often buy prepared warm food but there are some very good options including ribs, stews, and even pizza. Great for taking a good side dish to a pot luck meal. Delicious fresh pastry selection in the morning (available all day). Ice cream, some bulk grains & nuts, coffees (some that can be ground there), and household products as well. A very nice wine and beer display. They do catering so thats handy. Convenient hours. Street parking can occasionally be challenging

Nice neighborhood store. Makes solid sandwiches (I had an italian), and has a strong beer and wine selection, and my son likes going there for ice cream.I also like that it has spices in bulk - which is a lot fresher and cheaper than buying at a grocery store.

Fun discovery. Deceptively small from streetside. Plentiful selection of prepared foods, fresh fish & meats, dry goods and wine in well-ordered, airy environment. Ice cream shop has few scooped selections, but plenty of ice cream treats.

Lovely local market, though on the pricey side. Has hot meals and sides, made-to-order sandwiches, small convenience store, candy shop, ice cream (both scoops and novelty), and slushies. Sells beer and wine. Incredibly busy right after school (approximately around 3:30pm M-F) as its popular with the local elementary school students. Spring through Fall the market hosts a kids musical performance in the early evening.

Great breads, danishes, food, etc., but the staff are all under and post grad stoners. They couldnt figure out how to make change when register malfunctioned. I now bring a pen, pencil or crayon with me so I can show them basic arithmetic.

Good place for a quick bite if you are in the area, prices are as expected for Chevy Chase$$$$$$But the food is good!!!!Good variety of coffees available, I would like them to ad Colombian coffee but that is a personal preference.

I love this place because its your typical neighborhood grocery store that not only offers your essentials, but you can come get your beer, baked goods, coffee, cheese, wine and much more.What I do love is the prepared food! Its great quality prepped food and sandwiches that would give Whole Foods a run for its money!I love this place because its reminds me of home in New England, where we had stores like this!BBM is also very incorporated in the neighborhood, making it an icon. The staff are friendly and seem to give local teenagers a chance to make a paycheck and build a great work ethic.Visiting BBM is a must. Youll love it here.

The pork sandwich was dried up and not very tasty plus the cashier was very impatient with me. As a senior citizen I found her behavior was unacceptable especially when she remwrked lets go girl!

Broadbranch Market is a handy, if pricey, little market buried deep in the Chevy Chase DC neighborhood. Given that the local Safeway is something of a train wreck, Broadbranch helps to fill in some of the gaps. They carry most of the basics youd expect in a neighborhood bodega and their pre-meeting/carry out food is pretty good. One of my gripes is that the soda cooler never seems to get sodas that cold, but they do have a soda fountain. Also, this is one of the few places in DC that I know of that has Slush Puppies.The staff are, generally, pleasant and attentive though some of the neighborhood kids that work there could be a bit more focused. Some of the clientele however can be maddeningly self-important, but thats Upper Northwest in general. If you drive parking could be problematic but thats to be expected.

Last time i was at broad branch i was in 8th grade at deal jr.high. i started going when i was 5.i would babysit and take my money and my best friend teresa clarke and go get penney candy and all kinds of ice cream and the giant cookies in the cookie jar.curly was there and told us kids that we had to be quiet since there was a baby sleeping upstairs. betty was at the cash register ...lots of memories from there and lafayette .i used to dream about it a lot. back in the good old days of metal lunch boxes ,jump rope and no computers. thanx for having this site.

Kids go to school around the area and i do go there from time to time to buy things for them. At one occasion went there and there was a staff that moves around to see what assistance she can give to there customer if any. But I felt she was following me around, It felt too close for comfort and although my kids want me to go with them back to the store but I have been turning down their request. But I plan to go back to the store again if this staff try coming around me again, or hooving around me I would have to report her to management.
