Second time Ive been here and I had to come check out the Titanic exhibit before it ended. Was not disappointed. Interesting to learn about the top secret US Navy mission that was actually being conducted and the amazing discovery of the Titanic towards the end of that operation. They had a few things from the actual shipwreck and this from the movie set, like the first class suite Rose was in and her blue dress and some of Jacks drawings (which are actually James Camerons).

The queens of Egypt exhibit is really interesting. I think it’s very relevant to gender equality issues that face us to this day. I made a quick trip through the exhibit but I would plan on spending about an hour and a half to two hours to read all the information.

The museum is pretty small, currently theres The Tomb of Christ, Titanic and one other exhibition, entrance is $15 per person and they give you 3D glasses for the Tomb of Christ part. Take your time going through everything, at the most youll spend 30-40min here not including the gift shop (you enter on the left and come out from the right through the gift shop). I totally recommend the gift shop, theres stuff there that you wont find on their online site (like jewelry).

The Queens of Egypt exhibit had amazing pieces. The 3-D rendering of Queen Nefertaris tomb is a must-see. However, I was a little disappointed by some of the presentations and much of the exhibit lighting. Many of the placards were difficult to read, at times a result of the poor lighting, and at others, a result of the size and type of the fonts used. The poor placement of the lights from above often made it difficult to see the placards without casting your own shadow over what youre trying to read. Other than these minor annoyances, the exhibit really was amazing and well worth it.

The National Geographic should be on everyones list of places to go in DC! I go every time Im in town. There is always a free exhibit in the windows surrounding the outside of the building and can be accessed 24 hours a day. There are usually 2 exhibits inside accessible with 1 ticket and a 3D movie which must be purchased separately. The exhibits are always top notch! I saw Day to Night a photo exhibit. IT. WAS. AWESOME! There is also usually a free exhibit in the lobby of the National Geographic working building next door.

The museum is a little small, but packed full of amazing artifacts and information. The Tomb of Christ and Titanic exhibits were on display during our visit. Amazing!! The Tomb of Christ featured an interactive 3D exhibit that was so cool. Because the museum is kinda small, I would suggest taking your time to walk through slowly and enjoy it all. We moved through faster than we would have if we knew there were only two main exhibits.

When the Society was established in 1888, there were roughly 1.5 billion people on the planet. There are now over 7.6 billion people, resulting in unprecedented negative human impacts on the world’s species and ecosystems.By some estimates, our current resource demands are already 1.5 times what the planet can provide. According to a UN forecast, by 2050 there will be an additional 2 billion people, bringing the demands on the Earth’s renewable resources to almost three times what it can sustain. What a great place for the whole family. At the time of my visit, their exhibitions consisted of ancient Egypt with a focus on Cleopatra. So many relics to see and information to learn. The museum does a pretty good job at labeling every single item with a short history. Pictures are allowed just no flash. It is pretty amazing to see the sarcophagi in which some of the ancient Egyptians were lay to rest. It squares around itself so once you are finished you will end up at the entrance. So dont worry about being hectic or not knowing where to go next. Everything is connected. Highly recommended it. Follow me and my adventures ig: @Sin_Aguayo fb: sin Aguayo

This museum is a lot smaller than we anticipated. However, the exhibit we saw was amazing, powerful & very extensive. It was a homage our many unappreciated, Queens of Egypt. I love learning history about ancient cultures, so seeing more about these powerful, melaninated Queens was a treat. They showed all the things that any black girl wanted to know that they dont teach in school. From hair to harems, from perfume to power, this exhibit was probably my favorite out of all of the museums. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the exhibit was the only thing shown. The rest of the floors were just offices in the building. The exhibit also had to be shut down early because of a tornado warning.

My first time visiting this museum and I thought it was great. The Jane Goodall exhibit was really well-thought out and organized. Slightly text-heavy but also had a lot of really interesting visual displays, including a replica field tent. I ended up learning a lot more about her life and chimps than I expected. Even reading every label and display, we finished the Goodall exhibit in about an hour a half, so it is a smaller museum. There was a second exhibition on photography featuring women which was also very interesting. It was nice to see so many different, admirable women in various roles and how they got there. Overall, would highly recommend for varied, rotating exhibits and more of a low-key museum experience than the Smithsonians.
