They have ICE CREAM!!! Great snacks and treats for gifts and more! Truffles, chocolats dipped pretzels, gummy treats and more. Did I mention they have ICE CREAM!!! Pictures to come, but the special flavor was amazing!!!

Neighborhood spot for ice cream, candy, and fudge. There are a few picnic tables with umbrellas outside now, which is great. They also make District branded chocolates. Ive seen these around town but I believe they make a lot if not all of them here. Service is friendly and they generally have samples.

Man these truffles are everything!! Butter Pecan Truffles are a must. So are the Lemon ans Champagne. I live in Richmond and go here one a month for my fix. If you don’t know then you must embark on this place. Nice gentleman in there too who is pleasant and sweet.

Great truffles and more, but the ice cream is to die for in this tiny shop with a quaint neighborhood vibe. The ice cream is from South Mountain Creamery, a local small organic dairy farm near Frederick MD about an hour from DC and thanks to Candy Jar, its available right here in the city. If Im going to be bad, it better be worth it. At The Capital Candy Jar, it is and then some!

Be very careful. One of the owners boasted on facebook about how he thinks Covid is a hoax. And now theyre open during lockdown. I would not let my kids eat anything that comes out of a store run by people who arent taking this pandemic seriously.

I LOVE taking these candies home to family in other parts of the country as gifts because they love receiving them. A great variety of uniquely DC oriented candies. Especially love the cherry blossom ones! This is the next Georgetown Cupcake - where when you are in DC you MUST buy one!

Im new to the area and stumbled upon this place by chance. Its a cute spot that sells coffee, baked goods, and house made candies and chocolates. I tried a milk chocolate truffle, a blondie, and a chocolate covered marshmallow with caramel. The marshmallow was by far my favorite ( the make their own) and I cant wait to go back and try other treats.

This is a great neighborhood gym for the Hill. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a large variety of very tasty homemade candy.

Enjoyed the lollipops during my stay at Hiltons Canopy hotel in Washington DC. Would like for the sticks to be more centered in the pop but the flavors are true and the best Ive ever had!!

I used CCJ for gifts at a recent event, and as well as being SUPER-EASY to deal with , they hand-delivered to the DC location (ok it was more than 2 pretzels). The recipients LOVED what they got. Homemade candy and icecream! Very family oriented

The Capital Candy Jar is one of the few businesses in Hill East. Located at 15th St and Constitution St NE, its a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.They have been around for years but crafting locally made candies out of Union Kitchen in Ivy City. Fast forward to now, they have graduated from Union Kitchen and have made it as a company opening this permanent location where they make and sell their candies.The store is spacious with several corners of all of their candies from chocolate covered pretzel sticks to marshmallows. I recommend the milk chocolate covered Oreos.In addition to candies, they sell baked goods to satisfy any sweet tooth but they also have a few savory pastries like mushroom, garlic, and cheese muffins. They also sell coffee from Zekes, a local roastery.They arent any seats, but I think its meant to be a come and go place.

Great candy and really great customer service. Looking forward to having some again next time I am in DC!
