I went for a state inspection, and Vicky at the front desk was amazing! The mechanics were really nice and efficient! This was my first time there, but they made us feel very comfortable!

I have been a customer here for more than 20 years. Mike and his team have always been truthful with what I need and completed the work in a timely fashion. Once I drove up to have air added to a tire, they found a screw in the tire and had it removed and repaired in 15 minutes. A huge you are the BEST.

The owner for 30 yrs (Mike) is a great American. Helped me troubleshoot my car problem and explained everything. Very reasonable prices. NAPA Certified! Awesome.

Vicki at the front desk is great. Very nice and professional. Mike was the mechanic who worked on my vehicle. Also very nice and professional. They got my vehicle fixed quick and got me out of a bind during a time crunch. Would definitely recommend.

They overcharged me on my removal and replacement of radiator which they said it was over 1000. I got a price quote with another auto repair for less than half of the price. They still charged me 186 for just the testing. Never will I trust this establishment again.

NOT TRUSTWORTHY!!2nd time I’ve experienced issues with them failing inspection. Both times I have taken to other shops and explicitly stated what Mike(owner) has failed me for and they have stated that it was within specifications. Although some other things have thrown red flags too, like blasting my wheel lugs on with a impact, and then telling me they didn’t have a torque wrench available.

No issues with inspections. Typically a couple hour turn around. A little pricey if you have work done there but you’ll find the same anywhere around here, and the work they did was good.

I was in a little bit of a bind and needed a state inspection done. I called late in the day explaining my situation and asked if they could complete one that day so I could get to work the following day. They happily took care of me. I had a strong feeling going in that I needed new break pads and upon inspection I’d did. Honest, straightforward and one of the best experiences I’ve had with a repair shop in my life. Thank you for everything. Hopefully I don’t have to visit the shop until next years inspection. But if I see you around I’ll buy the next beer! Thank you guys!

Car was towed to shop 17th. Got it back 29th. One call in to check status(always had to call) got fussed at for checking on my car (2nd week there). I mean they fixed it. 12 days and getting fussed at (They did apologized for me calling in).

Brought my van in yesterday for an inspection around 11am and was called just a couple hours later to let me know the inspection had been done. At that time they let me know that I would need two new tires and some signal lights replaced as well. Altogether pretty affordable price for everything that was done. They got everything done by the end of the next day just in time for my next morning of work. Everyone was nice and the owner Mike seems to really care about the customer. When my car dealership could not perform a safety inspection for several days, I came here, where my daughter has had work done on her vehicles for years. Already in the afternoon, I could leave it overnight or return in the morning when they would start the requested service. I left my car, and received a call a few hours later letting me know they had it done that same day. Pleasant staff and good, quick service.

First time in a long time that I took my vehicle in for inspection and I wasn’t taken advantage of to try and purchase repairs I didn’t need. Mike was very professional and honest and had my vehicle done same day! I would definitely recommend them and will absolutely be coming back for future repair needs.

After taking my truck to a Toyota Dealership, where they kept it for over 6 weeks and threw numerous parts at my problem, only to tell me they cannot fix it, it must be in the wiring harness. I took it to Kempsville Auto Care Center, where I was greeted by a very professional cast of characters. I told them my problem and was told “No worries, we will FIX IT”. Within a week and at a price well under what was expected, to good old truck is back on the road running better than new. Huge should out to Kempsville Auto Care. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of Auto service. Professional, on time, and excellent quality at a price you can trust.

They replaced a very expensive part (over $1,200 + labor) and would not stand behind it when another mechanic proved it was defective. Where is the manufacturer warranty? Makes me wonder where they got the part and why they cant replace it. His only compensation was to offer me a free oil change. They also overcharged by hundreds of dollars. Please get second opinions and additional estimates before you have any work done here.

Been going there for years, always good, dependable service at a fair price. Hard to find a mechanic you can trust these days, and customer service has always been my gripe, it too is hard to find anymore.Took my truck in the other day for a rattling noise in the dash that I couldn’t take anymore. They were busy, but said if I could leave it, they would try to squeeze it in to take a look. They did, and fixed it (not in the dash like I thought) and told no charge because it was just a clamp. Just don’t see that anymore, great bunch of guys (and girls!)

Recommended on Facebook, I stopped by Thursday at 1pm asking for inspection service. The guy told me he could not do it yesterday and to comeback tomorrow at the same time. Well, came back next day at same time and he came up saying that he can’t do it. I told him that he told me to comeback today at 1, to which he replied saying “I know but I was busy”. My dissatisfaction is not because he couldn’t do the inspection but because he’s lack of professionalism and his inability to seek for an alternative date and time. I would have set up another time and date if his conduct had showed some concern towards my need as a customer. I am definitely never coming back to this place.

This is the friendliest, busiest place. They are very kind and I especially like that their prices are fair and they dont hike up the prices on the parts. Most of all they are family oriented and have the love for the community.

WAS a customer for years. Came in for State Inspection and was told I could leave the vehicle today but still would need to sigh in tomorrow morning on fist cone first serve basis. Waited at the door since 7:00. At was told he had 10 customers ahead of me. I asked the person working the desk about what he told me the day before nice while filling out the paperwork. The person went off on me ... .. getting all bend outa shape... so I left. Never go there again. This place use to be so good very friendly but not anymore.

Mike and the whole team are the best... so accommodating and genuinely nice. They “give it to you straight” without playing games like some dealerships do. I always trust Kempsville Auto Care to get the job done at a reasonable price. I am always able to get in and out quickly compared to the dealerships.

Ive been taking my vehicles here since I first started driving, and I cant imagine going any place else. They treat you like family when you walk in, dont try to hide any charges and fees, and are great with communication regarding what needs done. The wait can be a bit long sometimes, but thats only because they stay so busy (which should tell you a lot about the shop).

I came in later in the day for an inspection with very little hope of getting my car back until the following day, but the wonderful young man at the counter said he might be able to get it to me by the end of the day. He did indeed do just that. Everyone was super friendly and I feel like I was well taken care of! Thank you!!!

I asked KAC for a Trip Check ($39). Jason suggested that I could get the same systems checked through a State Inspection ($20) which is due on my 2011 Toyota Camry. They re-nstalled a loose drip guard for free. Altogether, including tax I only paid $25.00.They do excellent work and superb customer service. I had them do the same maintenance check on my 2008 Nissan Xterra. Been going to KAC for 2+ years. You will be pleased with them...😇

Ive lived in VA for 15 years and this is the FIRST place Ive taken my car to be inspected where they didnt try to chisel me for overpriced wiper blades or headlight resurfacing, or some other stupid thing. I found this place almost a year ago. They were very professional and courteous when I brought my car in to be fixed. They were very upfront about everything going on with my vehicle as well as how much it would cost to repair. I was so impressed with their professionalism and prompt service that I brought my vehicle back to them when I had an issue with it. This trip started off just as great as the one prior, however it didnt end as well as before. After spending a large amount of money to have my vehicle repaired I expected it would be good as new again....I was wrong. After the repair I picked up my vehicle to find It the battery was dead ( 6 month old battery) and that new issues with my vehicle has arisen. I replace the battery and I again give them a call, I am then prompted to bring it back in to be looked at. After a few days of leaving my vehicle with them they informed me it was not acting up as I claimed. Two days after bringing it home my vehicle again starts giving me the same issues. Issues that actually can be quite dangerous when driving, especially with children in the car. I once again call them and complain about the issues with my car. They once again prompted me to bring the vehicle back in. This time however I told them to keep my vehicle until it acted as just as it had been for me. Several weeks passed and im told my vehicle is fine and that there are no issues. I have the vehicle towed back to my home to find that the new tires I had just replaced the day before I first brought the vehicle in was completely flat, all but riding rim. With the 2 months of my car being in and out of their shop I personally drove the car 3 times. After the large amount of money I spent and this experience I refuse to bring another vehicle to them. I went from praising how fantastic they were and recommending them to everyone to telling anyone who asked to avoid them entirely.

Im from out of town and brought my 2006 Chrysler Town and Country in to get the starter replaced on the recommendation of my sister who is a long time customer. We drove 20 minutes out of the way to drop the car off and they were very prompt to fix it. The work was done in under two hours. The cost for the REFURBISHED starter $233.06 bringing the bill to a total of $460.57. The price they charged for a refurbished starter is 3 times the amount you would pay anywhere else. Afterwards, I called three other auto mechanics more local to the area and the price for the same job ran $275 to $316. Im sure they will provide some excuse as to why this part cost so much, but the reality is they overcharge. If you have money to waste and want work done quickly go here. Also looked up the cost of a starter on NAPA online which tends to have the highest prices on line and the remanufactured price was $133.99 without the core refund.

Family oriented ,which is nice.I needed a tire with the quickness and thats what i got.The tread this tire had i shoulda been charged for a new one.,but i wasnt!Glad i came across this place.

Had a terrible experience . My car was towed up there to see why it wouldnt start. Besides never taking down the problem or seeing what my complaint was they just said go ahead and have it towed up there. Without my consent the battery was tested and taken out replaced with a new 175 dollar battery because it was said mine was bad . I NEVER told them to take out my battery and replace it. I did tell them to flush the brake fluid do to an accident with something else being put in there. They didnt even do that until the moment I came to get the car. No kind of compensation for my trouble just a bill charging me for them testing the battery . And of course the flush. I wouldnt recommend going here . They will tell you something is wrong with your car fix it with no remorse. My battery since I left hasnt needed jump started once and they said it would every time . Lies. The worst situation for a pregnant woman 7 months along to go through and be lied too.

My rodeo failed inspection for brake pads that were not even close to worn, my mothers explorer was failed for axel work we took somewhere else and they didn’t see a problem at all and passed the truck, my daughters Kia was failed for a plate light that worked before we took into the shop! They must be hurting for money! Not to mention the man on the phone belittling me for asking questions about the inspection! Don’t take your vehicle here!!

Got a pre-inspection done here and the inspection was to be done at Kempsville Auto Care Center, as they have some deal to do that... Coreys told me that some belts, the rotors, the motor mounts, and my battery strap needed to be replaced for it to be inspected. I had my brother do the rotors and replace the battery strap, and when my brother did that he said that the front brake pads were really bad and did those as well... Coreys did the rest of the work and checked my brothers work... I got it back with the brand new battery strap broken in half and replaced that again without complaining and then I took it to Kempsville Auto Care Center for the inspection because Coreys told me that it would pass. Kempsville Auto failed me for back brakes and back tires and after spending $400 more dollars I was able to get a passing inspection sticker... they also informed me that I had a stripped stud on a tire and I realized my engine is flooded with oil but neither establishment will accept responsibility for that. Jeff Coreys wife called me after seeing my review and tried to tell me that I didnt know what I was talking about but every word of this review is true and accurate. I had previous work done at both places and wasnt particularly satisfied either time but after this incident I will never go to or recommend either of these auto centers again.

Had a hard time getting an oil change here. Went into the office and there was one person waiting. Told on the phone it was first come first serve.......buuuut i was told it would be close to 4 hour wait.

Horrible!!!! had to get a new shifter assembly and cables and apparently with labor cost its more then my clutch replacement. Plus they did a horrible job after i picked it up i found that metal is hanging from my car so no i would not tell my worst enemy to come to this place! the customer service is horrible when i ask a shifter assembly cost 400.00 all he could reply with is yes and that was that i regret ever giving my money to these ass hats
