Got down to the beach a few weeks ago for a short 2 day trip and my car began to overheat when I pulled into my hotel parking lot. Called them first thing the next morning and explained to them my dilemma. They agreed to fit me in when everyone else said 2 weeks at least. They had the problem diagnosed as a bad radiator fan and had it fixed before noon. Great honest people, and great work. Definitely recommend them and would use them again for car problems at the beach.

Service desk person could’ve been better. He didn’t seem to be in a good mood when I first arrived. Not very friendly for someone dealing with customers all day. The actual Service of the vehicle was good, I waited for the vehicle and it didn’t take them too long to get everything done. They also did an inspection and made recommendations on things to watch for. I appreciated that.

My experience that this place was great they were very family oriented and extremely professional, I took my subaru that was about 5 minutes away they were rude and couldnt even explain thing’s properly I went to h&m automotive they were honest and explained everything to me , which meant a lot to me simply because I was not even from the area Im from new jersey

I dont usually write reviews on Google, but, after my experience with this company, I had to. Please read this until the end. There is a kicker. I am a small contractor out of Powhatan, Va. I had a crew working in the Beach area. The transmission in their work van dumped its fluid in the parking lot of the jobsite. I called H&M and was told that they were so busy that there wasnt even room on their lot for another vehicle. I further explained my predicament (i.e. out of town contractor facing a hefty tow bill) and was told to bring it in. My employee had the vehicle there at ~3:30. By 5, they had it diagnosed. It was fixed by lunch the following day. HERE IS THE KICKER- I offered them $100 extra for helping me out of a jam. The gentleman would not accept it. He told me that they treat everyone the same, and that extra was not necessary. I was floored. We work at the beach often. I will be trying to schedule future van maintenance with H&M whenever possible (even though they are 2 hours away from our shop).

I recently took my 2009 Dodge here to have a wheel bearing replaced. They were very professional and helpful. I will continue to service my car here.

How much do I know with this place to help my truck along in the data harrasment to me and everyday is unknown with my truck since there has been ecm flashed and other things done to cause it run bad and over heat but too ruin my way be able to get around with no other meane ot transpertation.. I am just a older lady who also stays in the country no way or no.obe.to.help me and how. you want me to get you a job but you to mess with truck I sure do hope it can be fixed. My wife and I have been bringing our cars here since they opened as we had dealt with the owners at another shop for a few years prior to them striking out on their own. The work is always done right. These guys are honest and reasonable about when suggesting additional work following routine maintenance.

Nick, Vinny and the rest of the guys at H&M Automotive are great to work with. I have been using them exclusively for more than 5 years with 4 different vehicles. Their promptness, professionalism, and quality are surpassed by none. I wouldn’t buy our 2 newer used cars without them inspecting them first. You can get auto work cheaper, but you cannot get it done better. And when it comes to my wife and kids possibly being stranded on the side of the road, I’d rather the work be done right the first time. I highly recommend their services to anyone and everyone who asks. I sent one of my best friends from Hickory to H&M and he was more than satisfied. If you want true value for your dollar when it comes to auto maintenance and repair you’ll find it there.

I was ran off the road on the way to VA beach and I live in Newport News area and was worried that my tire wouldn’t be safe to drive home on. I stopped in and they took at my tire, fixed it up, and made sure there wasn’t any air leaking. I appreciate everyone there so much. Went to them because my check engine light was on, they scanned the it told me the problem and how to fix it. Turns out they sold me the WRONG PART and my car was still having problems and I broke down on the side of the road because of it.

Absolutely wonderful. I used to dread car repairs. The guys here make it easy. Im only there a few times a year but always greeted by name when I walk in the door. Prices are reasonable, turn around is speedy and they stand behind their work. The give me the rin down of what should be done, what MUST be done and anything they notice that might need work soon. I cant say enough about how exceptional they are!

My wife drove up to the garage with a check engine light and dash control issue. They took her immediately and did a total vehicle inspection. They diagnosed both issues along with other needed work.

I found H & M online for a groupon to change the oil in my car and rotate the tires (which seemed like a great price at the time and the reviews were positive). I used the late night drop off, because I was unable to sit at the shop to wait for my car to be serviced the next day. 30 minutes after my appointment was scheduled, I get a call where the manager proceeded to recommend almost $600 of unnecessary fluid changes. After I declined the ridiculous amount of suggestions they had for my car, the gentleman then proceed to let me know they had broken a wheel stud on the vehicle. He then presented me with a bill for $159 for a part that costs $2.49, despite the fact that it was their mistake. I am assuming this is how they recoup money they make bringing business in through discount websites such as Groupon, and if the ridiculously priced suggestions are declined they price gouge you for a mistake they made. Needless to say I will never be going back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking to have their vehicle serviced.

Initially I gave them 5 stars, but my brakes have been squealing since I had them completed less than a year ago. I dropped my car off 3 additional times to be fixed, although they only have documentation for 2. Sadly, I still need to get them fixed elsewhere.

I have purchased the VIP coupon book back in late 2013 and hadnt used it cause I already had a mechanic nevertheless it was around 430 and I started having bad car trouble and with money being short I decide to use it and call them I couldnt get there till a little after 5 and they closed at 6 but they said to come in. I have never been so grateful!!! I limped my car there with my 2 kids in toe and they welcomed me with open arms and found out what was wrong and fixed it in a matter of a hour (how proficient) I used that coupon and was on my way. This could have been a really bad situation and they Saved The Day so Thank You guys!!! You have a loyal new customer in me!!!!

I went to them with an issue that I looked up on youtube. My car was making a swooshing sound like water was in the dash and water was dripping on the floor.The answer was to shoot air up the a/c drain line to unclog it, according to youtube video.Midas said they would charges $100 just to look at it. A couple of others said the same.Nick, Fred, and David and the guys at H and M automotive were very professional and drained the a/c line...over a gallon of water fell out$15 WELL SPENT!!
