These guys are a truly rare and amazing group. You give them most problems and theyll figure it out and be straight with you. My family has been taking automotive issues, repairs, and upgrades here for years and theyve never let us down. Even the old fashioned female tax people mention about mechanics I havent seen in these guys (with both my mother and S.O.). If you have a genuine issue, need help, or even have a question about something going on with your vehicle, theyll help you out. As long as you keep it respectful on your end (i.e. respect them and their rules), theyll go the extra mile for you.

ACE Automotive charged me $2,000 to get my car fixed, and right after I got my car out of the shop I started having brake issues (that I never had prior to ACE servicing my car). I brought my car back to ACE and they said that I had a list of things still wrong with my car (???) and that it would cost at the minimum another $500. They began pointing fingers at other people who serviced my car but theres no one to blame but them! Im done dealing with ACE automotive, I would never refer anyone to this shop as all they do is blame someone else for the issues at hand and they dont do their job in its entirety. I now have to go to a different shop to get my car done. Total BS.

Ace automotive is very trustworthy and reasonable. I wont go anywhere else.

Steve(owner of the shop)and Colin(shop manager) are and have been GREAT to work with!! All the other guys on staff that Ive encountered while there are also very friendly and pleasant as well! Dont hesitate to trust them with your vehicles!

Finally, I found a mechanic to work on my truck. I was not really sure because of the price but the quality and the fact that they really wanted to do the job right made it worth every penny. I will pay for quality work anytime. We have 3 other projects lined up soon.

7/29/19 was my first visit. Made an appointment for an annoying, whining sound coming from the motor of my 2007 Toyota RAV4. I suspected a bad Alternator. Collin calls and gives me updates, recommendations and photos. Never any sales pressure. Vehicle is back to normal, quiet and runs like dream! My new “go-to” for used car repairs!

Everyone here was so polite and accommodating. They worked my car in even though they had a full load that day, updated me through out the repair with phone calls and texted photos of the problem and repair. I won’t take any of my cars any where else now that we found these guys!

This place is awesome! Anything you need done to your car, they can do it for you. They have a great staff (Collin, Steve, and all the guys are very friendly and professional), great knowledge of their craft, the prices are very reasonable, and they get stuff done without taking forever! I also prefer to go to locally-owned small businesses, and this place is veteran owned and operated. Ive lived in Virginia Beach all my life and been to plenty of car repair places. This is by far the best and I will definitely be sticking with them.

Tried to fail my inspection because my control arm was going to need to be replaced “soon.” I knew that didn’t sound right so I took it to another place and my inspection passed. So just don’t go here if you’re a woman, I could tell the man in there thought I knew nothing about cars from the way he tried to explain my failed inspection.

My husband and I have been there a few times since it’s close to our home and we have always been pleased. The prices are reasonable and competitive and the customer service is even better. Our cars are always finished in a timely manner as well. I can’t complain. As long as I’m in this area I will always take my cars there.

I called them last second needing someone to help fix my breaks. They hopped right to it. They didnt push any extra things on me but kept me knowing what to expect from my car. Highly recommend

Great honest service and VERY accommodating!

Customer went here for inspection. After letting them know he would have the work done somewhere else, the inspector cross threaded and impacted 2 of the 5 lugs on the wheel . now the studs have to be replaced because these guys are so salty about not getting the money. Guess what? Also The tie rod they failed it for has Zero play, leaks or tears in the boot. The state trooper is gonna enjoy this one :-)

I was quoted $1000 plus at a dealer service center whereas with Ace Automotive the parts and labor was only $400. Great price for great service. I needed a tire repair on Halloween........most people closed early. I went to their competitor next door and they told me maybe their mechanic would be in. I am so glad I went next door. The owners were there and so friendly. They took care of my tire repair that was a dealer warranty claim and I was on my way quickly.Thank you, guys!

Istalled new ac for my old WORKING ac while installing a new heater, since dash was already off. New ac never worked since the installation. Took it back and they said they fixed it (Charged me $200+ for charging it) ...THEY DID NOT fix it. I left and would never go back to those dishonest people. Owner continued to lie to me.

I very highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for high quality mechanics with integrity. I had an issue with my brake lines that I was not able to solve, and considering I rebuilt the engine in my car, I do know my way around a set of wrenches and a vacuum pump.I initially took my car to Sears Automotive at Pembroke, where they kept my car for 4 hours only to misdiagnose my issue and waste an afternoon. Within 45 minutes of handing over my car to Steve at Ace he had diagnosed it. Once the part arrived, he had the car up and good to go on budget and ahead of schedule.

Hands down, best service in Virginia Beach! Steve and his team are honest and thorough! I have referred numerous friends over to them and they always get the job done at a fair price!

Steve and the guys over at Ace are on point. Customer service is first rate and they get the job done without the fluff and horror stories you hear with other places. I took my car in after it had been sitting for two years (stationed in Japan) and Steve took the time to break it all down for me and get the problem I was experiencing diagnosed and solved. Ive been a customer of Ace Automotive for several years but for the last couple of years I was going to another place closer to home (I used to work close to them). This year the place I was taking it to tried to rip me off with a bunch of added work for my inspection - so I brought it back to Ace. I am so glad I did. Not only did Steve save me a bunch of money, but he reminded me why I used to take my car there.Steve is not only honest, but he and his crew do great work. Make sure to call beforehand of course, they do get busy because many of the locals know they are the place to go. They are very military friendly but they do accept civilians too... lolToday he saved me a good bit of money vs the local chain I had brought my car to. Great shop. Been taking my cars there for over five years. Honest, friendly, and fair prices.

Oil changes take way to long. I always bring my car before the shop opens and several times I have had to wait 3-4 hours for an oil change. They kept my Fiancées extra set of keys one time, and we had to go all the way back to get it. I don’t know how the keys got separated from the paperwork.

My wife was in va beach to dissolve her fathers estate and had a clutch go out on her 07 jeep wrangler.She went to where her father had gone before his passing(thought she could trust them)and they were able to get her in on short notice,we thought was great until they call and say it is finished.She never recieved an estimate and extra work was preformed without her approval. The labor hours billed for were 2.5 hours over the time needed for the repair( I happen to own a NAPAAUTOCARE CENTER and am a master ASE technitian)they did not know this prior to making up prices to charge my wife....as i have heard of this so many times in my business...We could have made a decision to go elsewhere if we recieved an estimate prior to doing the repairs..How sad that they have to rob unsuspecting women(or men)to keep in business.When you operate in a small town you have to provide quality and trustworthiness to keep your door open,when you steal(and i mean that)from tourist and the uninformed you give a bad name to all repair shops.And it is just plain wrong.so please consider who you are about to let work on your vehicle and get more than 1 estimate.legally you do not have to pay for repairs you did not approve,or if used parts are not provided to you at time of pick up
