Amanda Carroll (sales manager) and Brian McCormick (sales and leasing consultant) were welcoming, patient and very attentive in listening to my needs and listened to what type of vehicle I was looking for. I didn’t feel pressured and felt very secure and comfortable in the choices I had. The finance team was very hospitable and very clear and concise about all of the details of my contract. The great people who assisted transferring my plates and were so friendly in helping me to move my belongings from my old car to the new one. I love my car and feel confident and safe. I put a down payment on a truck at Hall Toyota. After 3 weeks there still was no status. I found a truck at another dealership and bought it. I asked Hall Toyota to apply my down payment to another vehicle I was purchasing for my daughter. Additionally I had already bought a new car from Hall in May this year. This is very poor customer service. Definitely worth the drive to go out of the area to find an honest dealership.

I’m 48 years old. I’ve been to many car dealerships in my life. Hall Toyota on Laskin Road in Va Beach changed my mind on buying a car from the dealer.The service I received was exemplary, even though they were closing in a half hour of my arrival. I was given the the full attention a customer wants and needs at any time of the day. Emma was an excellent and professional sales representative, as was Mike in financing! Sorry I don’t remember the name of the lady in between them, but she was great too. I feel they all truly listened to my concerns and requests with no pressure or ‘car dealer games’ at all.I recommend this dealership to everyone. My check engine light came on while coming to Va. Beach from MD. Called and made appointment for the next day. Check engine light went out, told service adviser what happened. He said it reset itself keep driving. I really appreciate the honesty. I would HIGHLY recommend. Thanks

Hall Toyota Virginia Beach I guess your definition of customer service only applies to customer who come into your dealership. I called several times in the past few months about some letters I received concerning my service agreement I had purchased. Every time I call, your operator transfers me to an employee and no one answers. I have left voice mails but received no call back. I called again on October 12th, finally spoke to someone who took my name and phone number and said he would look at my file and call back. Never heard from him again. I called back on October 15th, I asked to speak to the GM, Matt Kuhlman, was told he was busy and the operator took my information and a message. I guess the GM sets the example for customer service since I have not received a call back from him either. Did you know that customer service also includes returning phone calls? I guess that is not in Halls business definition of customer service.October 22, 2021: Spoke with GM Matt Kuhlman, my questions were answered and situation resolved.

Would not trust them to ever service another vehicle for me again. I was told I needed a new axel for $900 but when I questioned it they then told me the real part I need that was $53 but $500 in labor so not even an axel. They also tried blaming a lift on the problem when the lift did nothing to the drive train which is still under warranty just so they didnt have to do the warrant work. This is the second time they have tried to take advantage of us. Ask questions to make sure they arent taking advantage of you too.

This is one of those establishments where you need to know more than they do in order to ensure you are getting the correct service or are being treated fairly. If you dont know how your car works, what your entire service history is and if you dont listen very well, then your wallet is going to be taken for a ride if you go here. And it shouldnt be this way. People buy Toyotas because they are reliable and people bring them to Toyota dealers for service to keep them running well, even though everyone knows its more expensive than a local mechanic or a Jiffy Lube. So why, when we bring our cars in to be serviced, and have made an appointment for a specific reason (regular maintenance that should cost $31), and Im holding the maintenance book in front of me - why would your service department list a bunch of extra stuff? And then take my maintenance book and visually stamp it and check all the boxes, making it appear that you were going to do exactly what was in the book....and then why would you come out to me in the waiting room and ask to replace the filters when you havent even pulled up the maintenance history (which is in the computer!?) Lazy and greedy. Spent $183 on a regular maintenance. The one time I go into a dealership with my gloves down and this happens. How dare I be distracted with my new job instead of ready for litigation? And you car salesmen/car dealers wonder why customers come in with their guard up, why people are nasty in there, why its not a nice environment. Honesty and making your customers feel like you are looking out for them instead of taking advantage of them is the better way to do business and that builds LOYALTY. We are going to try another dealer next time. And you guys better pray we dont tell the thousands of people in our network about this experience! Oh wait, maybe Google will.

Since posting this review, I have been very pleased with the response from Hall to remedy the issues related to this purchase. Very much appreciated. Thank you.I bought a car from Hall in early July after my mother died and we had to transport her dog from Virginia to Montana. It is now a month later and I have not received copies of any paperwork that I signed for the car, have no idea who the lender is, have 30 day tags that have expired, and have no way to obtain a title to sell the car. And, had to spend $600 to fix a computer glitch that appeared a couple hours after we drove it off the lot and were on the way to Montana. And, no one will talk to me. Buyers beware.

I just had the easiest SUV buying experience with the exception of the prior vehicle that I bought from Charles Barker Toyota! I called the salesman that I had during my first purchase, told him which vehicle I wanted from the website and asked him how much it was going to cost me after I traded my 2016 in. CB gave me the highest trade-in amount and a low interest rate for the balance. The whole transaction was stress free and speedy! I had forgotten how much I love a new car! I have purchased more then 8 vehicles from this particular location, back then they were named (Charles Barker) but when it comes to this situation I dealt with today, I can say by far this was the worse. Emotionally & mentally I am drained! I’m in shock because this experience was caused by the service manager, “Fred” (unsure of the last name) furthermore, to have someone so I’ll-mannered, disagreeable, impatient, unconcerned, and dishonest is revolting. When it comes to a strong brand like Toyota having someone like Fred representing your brand is an disgrace! By his body language, you could tell he feels as if he can do,say, and act however he wants! This has to stop hall Toyota. For sure you all have lost an valued customer/guest. I hope this complaint does not go unresolved.

Classic bait and switch dealership. Had a back and forth email conversation with a sales associate about a Tundra that I was looking for that was showing in inventory. I told him that I would like to come take a look at it and he emailed me saying it was being brought over. I wasted a 30 minute drive out here just for him to tell me it was still in transit for delivery to the dealership and wouldnt be here for a month. When a customer comes with money in hand and ready to buy, its frustrating to get the run around. Ill take my business to Priority Toyota instead.

My experience was superb with Hall Toyota and my sales agent Jake Devine was incredible. I was an out of state buyer (from MA). I had a lot of questions and Jake calmly answered every question for me. Jake had all the details completed for me in advance so I would be in and out of the dealership quickly. I flew into Norfolk Airport on Memorial Day and Jake was kind enough to drive an hour (due to holiday traffic) to pick me up. The finance officer was very nice to deal with as well. All the fees and additional insurance prices were provided up front and there were no hidden costs. They also took care of my MA registration, so anyone from out of state can buy from them without any concern.

How are contracts being handled with prior customers who purchased vehicles before Charles Barker sold out? From my understanding as long as the vehicle was owned and running Charles Barker would service lifetime oil changes, inspections, etc complimentary... is this holding true with Hall Toyota or did the contract carpet get pulled out from loyal customers?

Maybe one of my worst experiences at a Toyota service department. I brought my 17 tacoma in for a 45k service (mainly just for the tire rotation, but online had the same price for both). As soon as I pull in, the advisor mentions my alignment is off and I repeatedly try to ask how bad and which and am repeatedly given the answer its off and you can pay for an alignment until the fourth time, she showed me the picture taken of it. Then i mention i was coming in for a 45k service and am told its different than the tire rotation and it would be $50 (for a tire rotation??). I also chose to get my alignment fixed too and was told it was $120. After i heard the prices, I had to find the prices online to show that the tire rotation showed about $30 and the alignment showed $100.I didnt even get the full 45k service at this point, but at least the prices were matched, but i dont understand how the prices in the system were so off! Then im told theres an additional 20% added on that for labor costs and materials. WHAT? Ive never paid so much just for a tire rotation. I usually bring it in because they can do it in a tenth of the time it takes me. I dont think ill ever come back here unless its an emergency but be weary on what theyre charging you and double check it!

Tried a few, and liked a couple of them and decided on one of the Toyota Tundras. The customer service I received here was stellar. I particularly appreciated the Covid-19 precautions they had in place. The place I visited prior to them, not a mask in sight except mine and they had the nerve to offer me pizza and cookies. Anthony and Marcus both were polite, professional and a pleasure to work with. My wife and I had been shopping around for a little over a week or so trying to find that perfect deal, you know, low mileage, latest model and the price has to be affordable, I almost purchased a similar vehicle at another dealership, but Im glad I stopped in to Charles Baker Toyota before I did. We received GREAT service and the price I got on the 2017 Nissan Altima 2.5 S compared to the other deals I was looking at saved me a little over a $1000.00, so Im pretty happy about that:)Car shopping is not one of my favorite things in the world to do, but I must say that Ray Aiden and the associates at Charles Baker Toyota where on point, we stopped in there around 5:30 pm and my wife was not wanting to have to be dealing with everything all night, Ray told her I promise that I will have you all ready and out of here by 7:00pm, and thats exactly what he did, car cleaned up , paper work completed and we where in our new car and driving away by 7:00pm.

Went to take my car in for service and the prices were through the roof. Almost 3,000 dollars they wanted to charge me. 744 dollars to fix my radiator, when I could buy a radiator part closer to 130 dollars. It seemed very disorganized, and the service advisor was very rude. The lady that checked me out was also incredibly rude, talking over my mom and I when we asked her if we could each pay for half of the service today. Didn’t even get my car fixed their because the quality wasn’t great. I love my Toyota and I would buy another one, but I would not get it serviced here that’s for sure. Way too expensive and the service advisors were just rude. And instead of calling you they text you a link with all they stuff they want to do, and the only options on the link is too accept the cost of repairs. I felt like that was ridiculous, who would approve all those repairs? Absurd.

I went with my girlfriend to get her car worked on. We get the car back they said everything’s fixed even on the recite it said alignment was done too. We come back a week later to get inspection and they called and said the alignment needed to be done. We said “we just got alignment done a week ago” So it ended up taking a little extra more time to get the car ready. then when we car that car back it felt like the alignment was fixed so if we never went back they would of charged up for fixing are alignment when they really didn’t do nothing so if you guys are going to charge Someone such high prices do your job

In the process, they full educated us on the types of warranties we should consider with no feelings of being pressured at all to purchase any of the options but rather allowed us to decide for ourselves what would items we would finally select. We ended up choosing 3 of the 7 extended warranty options only because being in the military as our son was going to be stationed outside the Continental US (Hawaii), those additional warranty items just made logical sense to get.Additionally, being in the military and constantly being mobile, our registration/tax/licensing all came with its unique challenges but Stiles T. worked his magic to get to our desired outcome in quick fashion!!My husband Gene is a retired Senior Naval Officer, and we have come to learn that great leadership starts at the top and filters its way throughout the organization. The Leadership at Hall Toyota should be commended for their honest, transparent, no-nonsense approach!!! Something truly hard to find these days!! Charles Barker Toyota was bought out by Hall. Hall Toyota sent out an email on February 18, 2021 explaining that any points or complementary services are no longer valid effective February 17, 2021. Why were us customers not told sooner??? I was saving up my points to get my sons headlights changed out as he can barely see in the rain. I had at least $100 worth of points...now i have lost them. Charles Barker promised lifetime oil and filter changes, now we only get one more then we have to pay???? Why was this not negotiated into the deal??? Shame on Charles Barker and shame on Hall Toyota for telling customers via email after they made our points worthless...very underhanded!!!

Bottom line: Hall does not honor previous Charles Barker Customers Lifetime engine oil and filter change.Long story: After I read and heard Charles Barker is sold to Hall, I have contacted the service department. Inquired about the lifetime engine oil and filter change and the representative said they do not honor that any more. Funny thing is that all the employees, their phone number, and customer information have been transferred except the service promotion. There is a news stating employees have been retained, you can check that the phone numbers are still the same, and I never gave my email address to Hall Toyota, but I receive emails from them. I tried to contact the manager Fred Phillips and left two voicemails over 2 days. Did not receive any call back. I contacted the Toyota corporate about this matter and told me to solve this issue with the dealership. The next day, I received 2 calls, but could not answer due to work. I called back the next day and left voicemail again since he did not pick up the call. Ive been calling him everyday since then whenever I have time. Never picked up his phone and no call backs even though I left more than 6 voicemails. I was never informed that Charles Barker will be sold to Hall and they will start to no longer fulfill the lifetime engine oil change and filter service. If I knew this was going to happened, I would have purchased my car from Checkered Flag or Priority Toyota. I am not saying that the Hall dealership is bad. What I am saying is the transition and the business management were handled very poorly and inappropriately. I am sure I am not the only customer who is experiencing this. There could be a multiple of customers who purchased vehicles from Charles Barker Toyota for the lifetime engine oil and filter promotion and soon or later, they will find out that it is not honored anymore. I am a type of person who keeps a car for as long as possible. I drove my previous car for 9 years. I am planning to drive my current car for more than 10 years if possible, which they now make me make $86/engine oil and filter change per 10,000 miles. Approximately worth $860 (= $86 x 10 years) of the engine oil and filter change fee that I have to pay out of pocket.

Had an appointment and I waited almost 3 and half hours. I was not notified of the long wait. I asked for oil change and inspection. When I got the invoice it totaled over $1200 even though the hits were because of an inspection failed because of two bulbs and the right tire. I preferred the previous owners.

I just recently purchased my second vehicle with Ray Aiden and it was once again a smooth transaction. If I could leave a 0 star review I would. I received a recall letter on my 2012 Toyota Corolla in regards to an airbag malfunction, which is an issue of safety. I called this dealership and spoke with a young lady who was very rude on the phone. She stated that she took my information down and said that once the part was ordered, I would be contacted to schedule a time to bring my vehicle in. 2 weeks passed and I never received a call, so I called again. I spoke with a gentleman that time who informed me that when he looked my information up, it was never entered. This was very upsetting and he informed me that at the time of the phone call with him, he entered my information and I would receive a call by the end of the week. Once again, 2 weeks passed without a call. I called again and spoke with a lady named Michelle. She said that the part for my car came in weeks ago, and I was never informed. This company has shown a clear negligent attitude towards the safety of their drivers. I would not recommend patronizing this dealership.

Purchased vehicle 2 months ago, and came for first oil change. Arrived as soon as they opened and there was a 3.5 hour wait. Very understandable. I am posting this due to the lack of service upon arrival. Drove in and no one approached me. Walked to desk and the Service employee was very rude, not personable, and acted as if I interrupted her time as she didn’t even look up from the computer. (Short blonde hair). I requested if I could get air in one tire at least due to it being extremely low and not having the time to wait with a toddler in tow. The employee absolutely didn’t care and said “in 3.5 hours”. Very unhelpful and not even remotely polite. I’ll be heading to the Chesapeake Toyota now as they have been very nice and helpful in the past. Should I head back to this establishment I’m worried I may interrupt the employees again. “I would be glad to help you. Unfortunately, the wait time is already at 3.5 hours. Usually we can’t service out of order but let me see what I can do for you. How low is the tire?” would have much nicer.

This review is solely for the service department. So I call in advance and to my surprise they don’t do appointments , which is weird bc where I’m from they do appointments to minimize the customers wait time. Usually they narrow it down 1 to 1.5 hours. As of right now, I’ve been sitting here for 3 hours. Also. When you pull up for service, no one greets you until you go to the representative. I guess this is the norm around here and people are okay with it. The service representative was okay. All in all, I’ll be looking for a different place from now on.

In town for a family visit. Figured out I needed a front end alignment pretty bad on my 2015 4Runner. Called Charles Barker Toyota and they got me in the same day. Upon arrival, Chris greeted me promptly, got my information, and directed me to the lounge. I was told an hour and half for the alignment. Not only did Chris text me so I could keep in touch with him, he personally checked on me and gave me an update. An hour and a half later, I was walking out the door. I was even given a printout of the before and after alignment tests for my records. Great experience and I really appreciate them squeezing me in.

When I came in I was greeted by Antoine Witt I believe his name is . He had a welcoming spirit and was very relatable when we further conversed . I had a budget and he helped keep me in my price range and didn’t try to haggle me like most salesman I’ve encountered. I loved that he didn’t make me feel like just a sale .
