I am so impressed with the Medical Department Store, specifically Scott, who went above and beyond in customer service when I called and needed oxygen for my husband who has covid. Scott was resourceful, understanding, and followed up with me. I am so grateful and will recommend them to everyone because he wasnt just about the money, he genuinely cared about our situation and wanted to help. Thank you Scott you are an amazing human being!

I cannot rate the store and especially their staff highly enough. The store is well-organized and seems to have anything you could want for medical help at home and then some. The staff really go out of their way to see what customers needs are and meet them. They make an effort to provide options at different price points. They offer delivery, which is super helpful when dealing with mobility issues. I have spoken to three or four different staff members over the last week from the medical department store and everyone has been exceedingly helpful and friendly.Please note that they do not submit to insurance, so all transactions must be settled at the store. You can then submit anything to your insurance for reimbursement later.

02/12/2019OverallSelectionServiceI am 76 years old with chronic back pain, bad knees,.... This store has been very helpful over the past 10 years. December I needed the top of the line power lift chair serviced. The service department has some incompetent manager who came out and charged me their normal $85 service call fee. He couldnt really handle the big lift recliner and managed to scratch my china cabinet. Brought it back in the exact same condition and said he had changed out the scissor mechanism. I wrote on his paperwork that the seat was still lope-sided and leaned to one side. He was furious and peeled out of my driveway. 2 months later I asked again if it could be fixed since it was still under warranty and less than 3 years old. The tech arrived and did a lot of dancing, while my neighbor witnessed his response. He finally concluded that he could see the seat was lope-sided and he would report it to the service manager and he would call me in the middle of the week. No surprise, no call. I called lat in the afternoon on Friday and got the incompetent manager. He said he has done all he could do and that the warranty was only could for 1 repair. I called the Golden factory customer service and they said that it definitely was under warranty and recommended another dealer.What a shame the factory has to ask you to bypass their Venice dealer and call Port Charlotte, Sarasota or even Ft. Myers.No more dealing with the Venice group, very poor service.

This is definitely a 5 Star Medical Supply Store. Scott & his staff are experienced, knowledgeable,and professional. I have been using a mobility cart for over a decade and Scott’s service hasbeen, by far, the best I have experienced.

I bought a bath chair and the legs were no longer straight after three showers. I returned it within a week of purchase along with the receipt, however, they would not exchange the chair for a replacement. I lost fifty ninedollars and threw out the chair. Theyre fine for supplies like diapers, chucks, transfer belts, uniforms, etc, but check return policy-- I think it is only the medical furniture that is notreturnable.They do sell a good motorized recliner, check warranty on that.I think the manufacturer gives you a good warranty.

I needed a hospital bed for my mother in a hurry and Stephanie jumped right in and was able to get one delivered on one day. The timing was critical and I am very grateful. I would definitely recommend Medical Department Store!

The staff at this store was incredibly helpful, they spent well over an hour adjusting and teaching me how to use my leg splint. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, they have quite a large inventory of medical supplies as well. Definitely would recommend them!!

Bought a lift chair from them inearly this year. Saleswoman was very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. She did not rush us, and was extremely patient while we were choosing the fabric and color. Price was great compared to other stores, and believe me, we shopped. Delivered on time, set-up was included. Very happy the entire experience.

Bought two of a particular product for appx $19, not a big deal. Tried one on my spouse and it didnt fit. I couldnt immediately find the one we tried on so I took my receipt and the unused one back. Was issued a refund for one only. I found the one we tried on a day later and brought it back. They would not issue a refund and said It couldnt be re-sold. Nasty customer service. Lost a customer over a $9 item.

Power out due to Irma and I was trying to help elderly neighbor on oxygen had no clue how to help but Stephanie answered my phone call and was so helpfull in getting my neighbor what she needed. Thank you for your great care!

I was down in Venice visiting my 88 year old mother-in-law at the rehab she was in after she fell and broke a bone. We decided to move her back to NH where shes from and her family resides. I cant tell you how grateful am to Scott and his staff at MDS for their help and guidance. We needed to get a POC Portable Oxygen Canister so she could fly home. We had already dealt with numerous hurdles from the rehab facility and after various calls to other medical device facilities who told us they could get us a POC in 5-14 days, we were exhausted. Scott helped us obtain a POC in 2 days and then took the time to show us how it worked and guided us about how many batteries to take so we didnt run out of oxygen. He also assisted us in navigating the rules Southwest Air had in reference to flying with a POC. His ability and his staff to calm us will not be forgotten and hence this positive review. Thank you again.
